1 tao a namin-adu a natubngar ngem pasikkilenna ti tengngedna, madadael a dagus ket saanto nga umimbag.
He, that being often reproved hardens his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.
2 Inton umadu dagiti agar-aramid iti umno, agrag-o dagiti tattao, ngem no ti nadangkes a tao ti mangiturturay, agsennaay dagiti tattao.
When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked bears rule, the people mourn.
3 Siasinoman a mangayat iti kinasirib ket pagrag-oena ti amana, ngem ti makikadkadua kadagiti balangkantis ket daddaelenna ti kinabaknangna.
Whoever loves wisdom rejoices his father: but he that keeps company with harlots spends his substance.
4 Patakderen ti ari ti daga babaen iti hustisia, ngem dadaelen daytoy ti tao a dumawdawat iti pasuksok.
The king by judgment establishes the land: but he that receives gifts overthrows it.
5 Ti tao a mangpatpatiray-ok iti kaarrubana ket agiwaywayat iti iket para iti sakana.
A man that flatters his neighbor spreads a net for his feet.
6 Matiliw iti palab-og ti siasinoman a dakes a tao babaen iti bukodna a basol, ngem agkanta ken agrag-o ti tao nga agar-aramid iti umno.
In the transgression of an evil man there is a snare: but the righteous does sing and rejoice.
7 Irupir ti agar-aramid iti nasayaat dagiti napanglaw; saan a maawatan ti nadangkes ti kasta a pannakaammo.
The righteous considers the cause of the poor: but the wicked regards not to know it.
8 Puoran dagiti maag ti siudad, ngem ikkaten dagiti nasirib ti gura.
Scornful men bring a city into a snare: but wise men turn away wrath.
9 No makisinuppiat ti masirib kadagiti maag a tao, agpungtot ken agkatawa isuna, ken awanto ti inana.
If a wise man contends with a foolish man, whether he rage or laugh, there is no rest.
10 Kagura dagiti mawaw ti dara ti awan basolna ket sapulenda ti biag dagiti nalinteg.
The bloodthirsty hate the upright: but the just seek his soul.
11 Ipakita ti tao a maag ti amin nga ungetna, ngem ti masirib a tao ket igawidna ti ungetna ken pakalmaenna ti bagina.
A fool utters all his mind: but a wise man keeps it in till afterwards.
12 No dengdenggen ti mangiturturay ti kinaulbod, agbalinto a nadangkes dagiti amin nga opisyalesna.
If a ruler listen to lies, all his servants are wicked.
13 Agpada ti napanglaw ken ti mangidaddadanes a tao, ta agpada nga innikan ni Yahweh iti lawag dagiti matada.
The poor and the deceitful man meet together: the LORD lightens both their eyes.
14 No ukomen ti ari dagiti napanglaw babaen iti kinapudno, mapasingkedanto iti agnanayon ti tronona.
The king that faithfully judges the poor, his throne shall be established for ever.
15 Mangted iti sirib ti baot ken panangbabalaw, ngem ti ubing a saan a madisdisiplinaan ket ibabainna ti inana.
The rod and reproof give wisdom: but a child left to himself brings his mother to shame.
16 Inton dagiti nadangkes a tao ti agturay, umadu ti basol, ngem makita dagiti agar-aramid iti umno ti pannakaabak dagiti nadangkes a tattao.
When the wicked are multiplied, transgression increases: but the righteous shall see their fall.
17 Disiplinaam ti anakmo ket paginanaennakanto, mangiyegto isuna iti ragsak iti biagmo.
Correct your son, and he shall give you rest; yes, he shall give delight to your soul.
18 No awan ti naipadto a sirmata saan a matengngel dagiti tattao, ngem nagasat ti tao a mangsalsalimetmet iti linteg.
Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keeps the law, happy is he.
19 Saanto a mabagbagaan iti maysa a tagabu, ta uray no maawatanna, awanto ti sungbatna.
A servant will not be corrected by words: for though he understand he will not answer.
20 Kitaen ti tao a darasudos iti saona? Ad-addu ti namnamma para ti maag ngem isuna.
See you a man that is hasty in his words? there is more hope of a fool than of him.
21 Ti mangpanuynoy iti tagabuna sipud pay iti kinaagtutubona, addanto ti parrikut iti kamaudiananna.
He that delicately brings up his servant from a child shall have him become his son at the length.
22 Ti naunget a tao ket mangpataud iti ringgor ken makaaramid iti adu a basol ti amo a naunget.
An angry man stirs up strife, and a furious man abounds in transgression.
23 Ti kinatangsit ti maysa a tao ket isu ti mangipababa kenkuana, ngem ti addaan iti napakumbaba nga espiritu ket mapadayawanto.
A man’s pride shall bring him low: but honor shall uphold the humble in spirit.
24 Ti tao a makibingay kadagiti agtatakaw ket kagurgurana ti bukodna a biag; mangmangegna ti lunod ket agulimek.
Whoever is partner with a thief hates his own soul: he hears cursing, and denudes it not.
25 Ti buteng ti tao ket isu’t pakaisiloanna, ngem maisalakan ti agtaltalek kenni Yahweh.
The fear of man brings a snare: but whoever puts his trust in the LORD shall be safe.
26 Adu ti mangsapul iti rupa ti mangituray, ngem agtaud kenni Yahweh ti hustisia para kenkuana.
Many seek the ruler’s favor; but every man’s judgment comes from the LORD.
27 Ti tao a saan a nalinteg ket pakarurudan dagiti agar-aramid iti umno, ngem ti nalinteg ti dalanna ket makarimon kadagiti nadangkes a tattao.
An unjust man is an abomination to the just: and he that is upright in the way is abomination to the wicked.
