Dagiti Proverbio 17
1 Nasaysayaat ti maaddaan iti kinatalna a nabuyugan iti namaga a sangkasakmol a tinapay ngem ti balay a napnoan iti panagrambak a nabuyogan iti panagaapa.
Better is a dry morsell, if peace be with it, then an house full of sacrifices with strife.
2 Iturayan ti nasirib nga adipen ti anak nga agar-aramid iti nakababain ken makibingayto isuna iti tawid a kasla maysa isuna kadagiti agkakabsat.
A discrete seruant shall haue rule ouer a lewde sonne, and hee shall deuide the heritage among the brethren.
3 Ti pagguguran ket para iti pirak ken ti horno ket para iti balitok, ngem daldalusan ni Yahweh dagiti puso.
As is the fining pot for siluer, and the fornace for golde, so the Lord trieth the heartes.
4 Ti tao nga agar-aramid iti dakes ket dumdumngeg kadagiti agsasao iti nadangkes a wagas; ipangpangag ti ulbod a tao dagiti agsasao iti dakes.
The wicked giueth heed to false lippes, and a lyer hearkeneth to the naughtie tongue.
5 Siasinoman a mangum-umsi kadagiti napanglaw ket lalaisenna ti Nangparsua kenkuana, ken madusa ti tao nga agragrag-o gapu iti kinaawan gasat dagiti dadduma.
Hee that mocketh the poore, reprocheth him, that made him: and he that reioyceth at destruction, shall not be vnpunished.
6 Dagiti appo ti korona dagiti natataenganen, ken dagiti nagannak ti mangmangiyeg iti dayaw kadagiti annakda.
Childres children are the crowne of the elders: and the glory of ye children are their fathers.
7 Ti nasayaat a sao ket saan a maitutop para iti maag; ad-adda a saan a maitutop dagiti ulbod a bibig iti pamilia ti ari.
Hie talke becommeth not a foole, much lesse a lying talke a prince.
8 Ti pasuksok ket kasla bato a maar-aramat iti panagsalamangka ti tao a mangit-ited iti daytoy; uray sadinoman ti turongenna, agballigi isuna.
A rewarde is as a stone pleasant in the eyes of them that haue it: it prospereth, whithersoeuer it turneth.
9 Ti siasinoman a mangpalabas iti maysa a nagkuranganda kenkuana ket makabirok iti ayat, ngem ti tao a mangul-ulit iti maysa a banag ket paad-adaywenna dagiti nasinged a gagayyemna.
Hee that couereth a transgression, seeketh loue: but hee that repeateth a matter, separateth the prince.
10 Ti panangtubngar ket umuneg iti kaunggan ti tao nga addaan pannakaawat, abakna ti sangagasut a saplit iti maag.
A reproofe entereth more into him that hath vnderstanding, then an hundreth stripes into a foole.
11 Birbiruken laeng ti dakes a tao ti panagsukirna, isu nga addanto naranggas a mensahero a maibaon a maibusor kenkuana.
A sedicious person seeketh onely euill, and a cruel messenger shall be sent against him.
12 Nasaysayaat ti makasabat iti oso a natakawan kadagiti annakna, ngem ti makasabat iti maag iti kinamaagna.
It is better for a man to meete a beare robbed of her whelpes, then a foole in his follie.
13 No adda maysa a tao a mangisupapak iti dakes iti naimbag, saanto a pulos a panawan ti kinadakes ti balayna.
He that rewardeth euil for good, euil shall not depart from his house.
14 Ti pagrugian ti riri ket kas iti tao a nangibulos iti danum nga agayus iti sadinoman, isu nga adaywam ti riri sakbay a mairugi daytoy.
The beginning of strife is as one that openeth the waters: therefore or the contention be medled with, leaue off.
15 Siasinoman a mangwayawaya kadagiti nadangkes a tattao wenno mangdusa kadagiti agar-aramid iti nalinteg— dagitoy a tattao ket agpapada a makarimon kenni Yahweh.
He that iustifieth the wicked, and he that condemneth the iust, euen they both are abomination to the Lord.
16 Apay pay laeng nga agbayad ti maag tapno makasursuro iti kinasirib no saanna met a kabaelan ti makasursuro?
Wherefore is there a price in the hand of the foole to get wisdome, and he hath none heart?
17 Ti maysa a gayyem ket managayat iti amin a tiempo, ken tumpuar ti maysa a kabsat iti tiempo ti pannakariribuk.
A friende loueth at all times: and a brother is borne for aduersitie.
18 Ti tao nga awan nakemna ket mangpatalged kadagiti karkari ken agbalin nga akinrebbeng kadagiti utang ti kaarrubana.
A man destitute of vnderstanding, toucheth the hande, and becommeth suretie for his neighbour.
19 Ti siasinoman a makinkayat iti riri, kaykayatna met ti basol; ti tao nga agar-aramid iti nangato unay a balandra iti ruanganna, itultulokna met nga adda tultulang a matukkol.
He loueth transgression, that loueth strife: and he that exalteth his gate, seeketh destruction.
20 Ti maysa a tao nga addaan iti saan a nasayaat a puso, saan a pulos a makasarak iti nasayaat; matnag iti pannakadidigra ti tao nga addaan iti ulbod a dila.
The froward heart findeth no good: and he that hath a naughtie tongue, shall fall into euill.
21 Ti siasinoman a maaddaan iti putot a maag ket mangmangiyeg iti ladingit iti bagina; saan nga agrag-o ti siasinoman nga ama iti maag nga anak.
He that begetteth a foole, getteth himselfe sorow, and the father of a foole can haue no ioy.
22 Ti naragsak a puso ket nasayaat nga agas, ngem ti naburak nga espiritu ket mangpamaga kadagiti tultulang.
A ioyfull heart causeth good health: but a sorowfull minde dryeth the bones.
23 Aw-awaten ti nadangkes a tao ti pasuksok tapno ballikugenna dagiti wagas ti kinalinteg.
A wicked man taketh a gift out of the bosome to wrest the wayes of iudgement.
24 Ti tao nga addaan pannakaawat, iturturongna ti bagina iti kinasirib, ngem dagiti mata dagiti maag ket naiturong iti nagpatinggaan ti daga.
Wisdome is in the face of him that hath vnderstanding: but the eyes of a foole are in the corners of the world.
25 Ti maag nga anak ket ladingit iti amana ken saem iti babai a nangipasngay kenkuana.
A foolish sonne is a griefe vnto his father, and a heauines to her that bare him.
26 Kasta met a saan a pulos a nasayaat ti panangdusa iti tao nga agar-aramid iti nalinteg; wenno saan a nasayaat a sapliten dagiti natakneng a tattao.
Surely it is not good to condemne the iust, nor that ye princes should smite such for equitie.
27 Ti tao nga addaan pannakaammo agus-usar iti bassit a sasao, ken managteppel ti tao nga addaan pannakaawat.
Hee that hath knowledge, spareth his wordes, and a man of vnderstanding is of an excellent spirit.
28 Uray ti maag ket maipagarup a masirib no naulimek isuna; no ikaemna ti ngiwatna, maibilang a nalaing isuna.
Euen a foole (when he holdeth his peace) is counted wise, and hee that stoppeth his lips, prudent.
