< Dagiti Proverbio 14 >

1 Ti masirib a babai ur-urnosenna ti balayna, ngem ti maag a babai ket daddadaelenna daytoy babaen kadagiti mismo wagasna.
Every wise woman builds her house, but the foolish one tears it down with her own hands.
2 Ti agbibiag a nalinteg ket addaan iti panagbuteng kenni Yahweh, ngem ti saan a napudno iti wagasna ket um-umsienna ni Yahweh.
He who walks in his uprightness fears the LORD, but he who is perverse in his ways despises him.
3 Manipud iti ngiwat ti maag tumaud ti kinatangsitna, ngem dagiti bibig dagiti masirib ti mangsalaknib kadakuada.
The fool’s talk brings a rod to his back, but the lips of the wise protect them.
4 No awan ti baka, nadalus ti kulloong, ngem mabalin a maadda ti nawadwad nga apit babaen iti pigsa ti baka.
Where no oxen are, the crib is clean, but much increase is by the strength of the ox.
5 Ti napudno a saksi saan nga agul-ulbod, ngem ti palso a saksi agisawsawng iti inuulbod.
A truthful witness will not lie, but a false witness pours out lies.
6 Ti tao a mangipagpagarup a nalalaing isuna ngem iti dadduma ket kasla mangbirbiruk iti kinasirib ket awan mabirukanna, ngem nalaka nga umay ti pannakaammo iti tao a masirib.
A scoffer seeks wisdom, and doesn’t find it, but knowledge comes easily to a discerning person.
7 Adaywam ti maag a tao, ta awan ti maadalmo kenkuana.
Stay away from a foolish man, for you won’t find knowledge on his lips.
8 Ti kinasirib ti nanakem a tao ket ti panangawatna iti bukodna a biag, ngem ti kinamaag dagiti maag ket panangallilaw.
The wisdom of the prudent is to think about his way, but the folly of fools is deceit.
9 Manglalais dagiti maag no maidaton ti daton a para iti basol, ngem pagbibingayan dagiti nalinteg ti pabor.
Fools mock at making atonement for sins, but among the upright there is good will.
10 Ammo ti puso ti bukodna a kinasaem, ket awan ganggannaet a makabingay iti rag-ona.
The heart knows its own bitterness and joy; he will not share these with a stranger.
11 Madadael ti balay dagiti nadangkes a tattao, ngem rumangpaya ti tolda dagiti nalinteg a tattao.
The house of the wicked will be overthrown, but the tent of the upright will flourish.
12 Adda dalan a kasla nalinteg iti panagkita ti maysa a tao, ngem ti pagtungpalanna ket iti laeng patay.
There is a way which seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death.
13 Mabalin nga agkatawa ti maysa a puso ngem makarikna latta ti ut-ot, ken mabalin a ti rag-o ket agtungpal laeng iti panagladingit.
Even in laughter the heart may be sorrowful, and mirth may end in heaviness.
14 Gun-odento ti tao a saan a napudno ti maiparbeng iti wagasna, ngem gun-odento ti nasayaat a tao ti rumbeng kenkuana.
The unfaithful will be repaid for his own ways; likewise a good man will be rewarded for his ways.
15 Ti tao a saan a nasursuroan ket mamati iti amin a banbanag, ngem ti nanakem a tao ket ad-adalenna dagiti addangna.
A simple man believes everything, but the prudent man carefully considers his ways.
16 Ti masirib a tao ket addaan iti panagbuteng ken ad-adaywanna ti dakes, ngem sitatalek ti maag a mangikkat iti ballaag.
A wise man fears and shuns evil, but the fool is hot headed and reckless.
17 Ti tao a nalaka nga agunget ket agar-aramid kadagiti minamaag a banbanag, ken ti tao nga agar-aramid kadagiti dakes a panggep ket magurgura.
He who is quick to become angry will commit folly, and a crafty man is hated.
18 Tawiden dagiti saan a nasursuroan a tattao ti kinanengneng ngem napalikmutan iti pannakaammo dagiti nanakem a tattao.
The simple inherit folly, but the prudent are crowned with knowledge.
19 Dagiti dakes ket agruknoyto iti sangoanan dagiti naimbag, ken dagiti nadangkes agruknoyto kadagiti ruangan dagiti nalinteg.
The evil bow down before the good, and the wicked at the gates of the righteous.
20 Ti tao a napanglaw ket magurgura uray pay kadagiti kakaduana, ngem ti tao a nabaknang ket adu ti gagayyemna.
The poor person is shunned even by his own neighbor, but the rich person has many friends.
21 Agbasbasol ti tao a mangipakpakita iti gurana iti kaarrubana, ngem naragsak ti tao a mangipakpakita iti nasayaat kadagiti napanglaw.
He who despises his neighbor sins, but he who has pity on the poor is blessed.
22 Saan aya a dagiti agpangpanggep iti kinadakes ket maiyaw-awan? Ngem dagiti agpangpanggep iti nasayaat ket umawat iti kinapudno iti tulag ken kinamatalek.
Don’t they go astray who plot evil? But love and faithfulness belong to those who plan good.
23 Tumaud ti gunggona manipud kadagiti amin a nagbannogan, ngem no ti adda laeng ket sao, mangiturong daytoy iti kinapanglaw.
In all hard work there is profit, but the talk of the lips leads only to poverty.
24 Ti balangat dagiti masirib a tattao ket ti kinabaknangda, ngem ti kinamaag dagiti maag ket mangmangiyeg kadakuada iti ad-adda pay a kinamaag.
The crown of the wise is their riches, but the folly of fools crowns them with folly.
25 Ti napudno a saksi ket is-ispalenna ti biag, ngem ti palso a saksi ket agisawsawang iti inuulbod.
A truthful witness saves souls, but a false witness is deceitful.
26 No ti maysa a tao ket agbuteng kenni Yahweh, addaan met isuna iti panagtalek kenni Yahweh; dagitoy a banbanag ket kaslanto natibker a lugar a salaknib para kadagiti annak dagiti tattao.
In the fear of the LORD is a secure fortress, and he will be a refuge for his children.
27 Ti panagbuteng kenni Yahweh ket maiyarig a burayok ti biag, tapno maadaywan ti tao dagiti silo ti patay.
The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life, turning people from the snares of death.
28 Ti dayag ti ari ket masarakan kadagiti adu a tattaona, ngem no awan ti tattao ket madadael ti prinsipe.
In the multitude of people is the king’s glory, but in the lack of people is the destruction of the prince.
29 Ti tao a naanus ket addaan dakkel a pannakaawat, ngem ti tao a nalaka nga agpungtot ket mangitantan-ok iti kinamaag.
He who is slow to anger has great understanding, but he who has a quick temper displays folly.
30 Ti nasayaat a panagpanpanunot ket biag ti bagi, ngem runrunoten ti apal dagiti tultulang.
The life of the body is a heart at peace, but envy rots the bones.
31 Ti mangidaddadanes kadagiti napanglaw ket ilunlunodna ti Nangparsua kenkuana, ngem ti mangipakpakita iti nasayaat kadagiti agkasapulan ket mangpadpadayaw kenni Yahweh.
He who oppresses the poor shows contempt for his Maker, but he who is kind to the needy honors him.
32 Ti nadangkes a tao ket ipabpababa dagiti dakes nga aramidna, ngem ti nalinteg a tao ket addaan iti pagkamangan uray iti patay.
The wicked is brought down in his calamity, but in death, the righteous has a refuge.
33 Agtaltalinaed ti sirib iti puso ti addaan pannakaawat, ngem uray kadagiti maag ket ipakpakaammona ti bagina.
Wisdom rests in the heart of one who has understanding, and is even made known in the inward part of fools.
34 Ti panagaramid iti umno ti mangitantan-ok iti nasion, ngem ti basol ket pakaibabainan ti siasinoman a tao.
Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a disgrace to any people.
35 Ti pabor ti ari ket adda iti adipen a nanakem, ngem ti ungetna ket maipaay iti agar-aramid iti pakaibabainan.
The king’s favor is toward a servant who deals wisely, but his wrath is toward one who causes shame.
