< Dagiti Proverbio 13 >

1 Denggen ti masirib nga anak ti panangisuro ti amana, ngem ti mananglalais saanto a dumngeg iti panangtubngar.
A wise son [becometh so] by the correction of his father; but a scorner hearkeneth not to rebuke.
2 Ragragsaken ti maysa a tao dagiti naimbag a banbanag manipud iti bunga ti ngiwatna, ngem ti paggugusto ti mangliliput ket kinaranggas.
From the fruit of a man's mouth doth he eat what is good; but the longing of the treacherous is for violence.
3 Ti mangsalsaluad iti ngiwatna salsalaknibanna ti biagna, ngem ti sumanao daddadaelenna ti bagina.
He that watcheth his mouth guardeth his soul; but he that openeth wide his lips [prepareth] himself destruction.
4 Awan kadagiti tarigagay dagiti nasadut a tattao ti magun-dda, ngem magun-odto amin dagiti nagaget a tattao dagiti tarigagayda.
The sluggard longeth [in] his soul, and there [cometh] nothing; but the soul of the diligent will be abundantly gratified.
5 Ti agar-aramid iti umno ket kagurgurana ti kinaulbod, ngem pagbalinen ti nadangkes a tao ti bagina a makarimon, ken ar-aramidenna ti nakababain.
The righteous hateth the word of falsehood; but the wicked bringeth shame and dishonor.
6 Salsalakniban ti kinalinteg dagiti saan a biddut ti wagasda, ngem iyadayo ti kinadangkes dagiti agbasbasol.
Righteousness keepeth [him that is] upright on his way; but wickedness perverteth the [man of] sin.
7 Adda maysa a tao a mangpabpabaknang iti bagina ngem awanan met a pulos, ken adda ti maysa a tao a mangmangted kadagiti amin a kukuana, ngem, pudpudno a baknang isuna.
There is some one that pretendeth to be rich without having any thing; another that pretendeth to be poor while having abundant wealth.
8 Mabalin a subboten ti nabaknang a tao ti biagna babaen kadagiti sanikuana, ngem saanto a pulos a makaawat ti napanglaw a tao iti kasta a kita ti pangta.
As the ransom of a man's life [hath he often to give] his riches; but the poor heareth no threat.
9 Agragrag-o ti silaw ti agar-aramid iti umno, ngem maiddep ti pagsilawan ti nadangkes.
The light of the righteous burneth joyfully; but the lamp of the wicked will be quenched.
10 Ti kinatangsit ket mangparnuay laeng iti riri, ngem adda kinasirib kadagiti dumdumngeg iti naimbag a pammagbaga.
Only through presumptuous conduct doth man produce contention; but with the well-advised is wisdom.
11 Maibus ti kinabaknang no kasta unay ti kinaparammag, ngem ti agur-urnong iti kuarta babaen iti panagtrabaho ti imana mapaaduna ti kuartana.
Wealth [gotten] by vain deeds will be diminished; but he that gathereth by close labor will increase it.
12 No naitantan ti namnama, burakenna ti puso, ngem ti kalikagum a natungpal ket maiyarig a kayo ti biag.
Expectation long deferred maketh the heart sick; but a tree of life is a desire which is fulfilled.
13 Ti tao a mangum-umsi iti sursuro ket sagrapennanto met laeng daytoy, ngem magunggonaanto ti tao a mangraem iti bilin.
Whoso despiseth the word shall fall in debt to it; but he that feareth the commandment will be rewarded.
14 Ti sursuro ti masirib a tao ket maiyarig a burayok ti biag, iyadayunaka manipud kadagiti silo ni patay.
The instruction of the wise is a source of life, [teaching] to avoid the snares of death.
15 Makagun-od iti pabor ti nasayaat a pannakaawat, ngem awan patinggana ti dalan ti mangliliput.
Good intelligence giveth grace; but the way of the treacherous is hard.
16 Mangngeddeng dagiti manakem a tattao segun iti pannakaammoda, ngem ibutbutaktak ti maag ti kinamaagna.
Every prudent man acteth with knowledge; but a fool spreadeth abroad his folly.
17 Matnag iti riribuk ti mensahero a nadangkes, ngem mangiyeg iti kapia ti mensahero a napudno.
A wicked messenger falleth into unhappiness; but a faithful ambassador [bringeth] healing.
18 Pumanglaw ken maibabainto ti saan a mangikankano iti panangdisiplina, ngem maidaydayawto ti makasursuro manipud iti pannakailintegna.
Poverty and disgrace will overtake him that rejecteth correction; but he that observeth admonition will be honored.
19 Ti natungpal a kalikagum ket nasam-it iti paggugusto, ngem kagurgura dagiti maag a tallikudan ti kinadakes.
A desire accomplished is pleasant to the soul; but it is abomination to fools to depart from evil.
20 Makipagbiagka kadagiti masirib a tattao ket agbalinka a masirib, ngem dagiti kakaddua dagiti maag ket agsagaba iti kinaranggas.
He that walketh with wise men will become wise; but he that associateth with fools will be destroyed.
21 Kamkamaten ti didigra dagiti managbasol, ngem magunggonaan iti nasayaat dagiti mangar-aramid iti umno.
Evil pursueth the sinners; but the righteous will [God] repay with happiness.
22 Ti nasayaat a tao mangibati iti tawiden dagiti appokona, ngem ti kinabaknang ti managbasol ket maidulin para kadagiti agar-aramid iti umno.
A good man leaveth an inheritance to his children's children; but the wealth of the sinner is treasured up for the righteous.
23 Ti saan a naarado a taltalon a kukua ti napanglaw ket mabalin a mangpaadda iti adu a taraon, ngem pukawen daytoy ti kinakillo.
Much food bringeth the new-tilled ground of the poor; but there are many others that are taken away through injustice.
24 Ti tao a saan a mangdisdisiplina iti anakna, kagurgurana ti anakna, ngem ti tao a mangay-ayat iti anakna ket disdisiplinaenna daytoy.
He that withholdeth his rod hateth his son; but he that loveth him chastiseth him betimes.
25 Ti tao nga agar-aramid iti umno ket mangan agingga a mapennek, ngem ti tiyan ti nadangkes ket kanayon a mabisin.
The righteous eateth to satisfy his desire [to eat]; but the belly of the wicked always suffereth want.
