1 Ita, addaan dagiti kaputotan ni Ruben ken ni Gad kadagiti adu a taraken. Idi nakitada ti daga ti Jazer ken Galaad, nasayaat ti daga para kadagiti taraken.
And the children of Ruben and the children of Gad had a multitude of cattle, very great; and they saw the land of Jazer, and the land of Galaad; and the place was a place for cattle:
2 Isu nga immay dagiti kaputotan ni Gad ken ni Ruben ket nagsaoda kenni Moises, kenni Eleazar a padi, ken kadagiti mangidadaulo kadagiti tattao. Kinunada,
and the children of Ruben and the children of Gad came, and spoke to Moses, and to Eleazar the priest, and to the princes of the congregation, saying,
3 “Atarot, Dibon, Jazer, Nimra, Hesbon, Eleale, Sibma, Nebo, ken Beon,
Ataroth, and Daebon, and Jazer, and Namra, and Esebon, and Eleale, and Sebama, and Nabau, and Baean,
4 dagiti daga a rinaut ni Yahweh iti sangoanan dagiti tattao ti Israel ket napipintas a lugar para kadagiti taraken. Addaankami nga adipenmo kadagiti adu a taraken.”
the land which the Lord has delivered up before the children of Israel, is pasture land, and your servants have cattle.
5 Kinunada, “No nakasarakkami iti pabor iti imatangmo, maited koma daytoy a daga kadakami nga adipenmo, a kas sanikuami. Saandakami a pagballasiwen iti Jordan.”
And they said, If we have found grace in your sight, let this land be given to your servants for a possession, and do not cause us to pass over Jordan.
6 Simmungbat ni Moises kadagiti kaputotan ni Gad ken ni Ruben, “Rumbeng kadi a mapan makigubat dagiti kakabsatyo bayat nga agnaedkayo ditoy?
And Moses said to the sons of Gad and the sons of Ruben, Shall your brethren go to war, and shall you sit here?
7 Apay nga upayenyo dagiti puso dagiti tattao ti Israel a mapan iti daga nga inted ni Yahweh kadakuada?
And why do you pervert the minds of the children of Israel, that they should not cross over into the land, which the Lord gives them?
8 Agpada ti inaramid dagiti ammayo idi imbaonko ida manipud Kadish Barnea a mangsukimat iti daga.
Did not your fathers thus, when I sent them from Cades Barne to spy out the land?
9 Simmang-atda idiay tanap ti Eskol. Nakitada ti daga ket inupayda dagiti puso dagiti tattao ti Israel tapno agkedkedda a sumrek iti daga nga ited ni Yahweh kadakuada.
And they went up to the valley of the cluster, and spied the land, and turned aside the heart of the children of Israel, that they should not go into the land, which the Lord gave them.
10 Simged ti pungtot ni Yahweh iti dayta nga aldaw. Nagsapata isuna ket kinunana,
And the Lord was very angry in that day, and sware, saying,
11 'Awan duadua nga awan kadagiti tattao a simmang-at manipud Egipto, manipud iti agtawen iti 20 nga agpangato, ti makakitanto iti daga nga inkarik kada Abraham, Isaac, ken ni Jacob, gapu ta saandak a sinurot, malaksid kenni
Surely these men who came up out of Egypt from twenty years old and upward, who know good and evil, shall not see the land which I sware [to give] to Abraam and Isaac and Jacob, for they have not closely followed after me:
12 Caleb nga anak ni Jefone a Kenezeo ken ni Josue nga anak ni Nun. Ni laeng Caleb ken ni Josue ti naan-anay a nangsurot kaniak.'
save Caleb the son of Jephonne, who was set apart, and Joshua the son of Naue, for they closely followed after the Lord.
13 Isu a simged ti pungtot ni Yahweh maibusor iti Israel. Pinagalla-allana ida idiay let-ang iti 40 a tawen agingga a nadadael dagiti amin a henerasion a nakaaramid iti dakes iti imatangna.
And the Lord was very angry with Israel; and for forty years he caused them to wander in the wilderness, until all the generation which did evil in the sight of the Lord was extinct.
14 Kitaenyo, dimmakkelkayo iti lugar dagiti ammayo, a kasla kadagiti ad-adda a managbasol a tattao, a mangrubrob iti umap-apoy a pungtot ni Yahweh iti Israel.
Behold, you are risen up in the room of your fathers, a combination of sinful men, to increase yet farther the fierce wrath of the Lord against Israel.
15 No umadayokayo iti panangsurotyo kenkuana, panawannanto manen ti Israel idiay let-ang ket dadaelenyonto amin dagitoy a tattao.”
For you will turn away from him to desert him yet once more in the wilderness, and you will sin against this whole congregation.
16 Isu nga immasidegda kenni Moises ket kinunada, “Palubosannakami nga agaramid kadagiti alad ditoy para kadagiti ayupmi ken siudad para kadagiti pamiliami.
And they came to him, and said, We will build here folds for our cattle, and cities for our possessions;
17 Nupay kasta, nakasaganakami a makigubat a kaduami ti armada ti Israel agingga a maiturongmi ida iti lugarda. Ngem agnaed dagiti pamiliami kadagiti natalged a siudad gapu kadagiti sabali a tattao nga agnanaed pay laeng iti daytoy a daga.
and we will arm ourselves and go as an advanced guard before the children of Israel, until we shall have brought them into their place; and our possessions shall remain in walled cities because of the inhabitants of the land.
18 Saankami nga agsubli kadagiti pagtaenganmi agingga a saan a naawat dagiti tattao ti Israel, tunggal tao ti tawidna.
We will not return to our houses till the children of Israel shall have been distributed, each to his own inheritance.
19 Saankami a makipagtawid kadakuada iti daga nga adda iti ballasiw ti Jordan, gapu ta ti tawidmi ket adda ditoy daya a paset ti Jordan.”
And we will not any longer inherit with them from the other side of Jordan and onwards, because we have our full inheritance on the side beyond Jordan eastward.
20 Isu a simmungbat ni Moises kadakuada, “No aramidenyo ti imbagayo, no agarmaskayo a mapan makiranget iti imatang ni Yahweh,
And Moses said to them, If you will do according to these words, if you will arm yourselves before the Lord for battle,
21 masapul ngarud a bumallasiw ti tunggal maysa kadagiti nakasagana a lallakiyo iti Jordan iti imatang ni Yahweh, agingga a mapagtalawna dagiti kabusorna manipud iti imatangna
and every one of you will pass over Jordan fully armed before the Lord, until his enemy be destroyed from before his face,
22 ken matagikuana ti daga. Ket kalpasanna mabalinyon ti agsubli. Saankayon a nakabasol kenni Yahweh ken iti Israel. Agbalinto a sanikuayo daytoy a daga iti imatang ni Yahweh.
and the land shall be subdued before the Lord, then afterwards you shall return, and be guiltless before the Lord, and as regards Israel; and this land shall be to you for a possession before the Lord.
23 Ngem no saanyo nga aramiden ti imbagayo, kitaenyo, agbasolkayo kenni Yahweh. Siguradoenyo a birukennakayo ti basolyo.
But if you will not do so, you will sin against the Lord; and you shall know your sin, when afflictions shall come upon you.
24 Mangaramidkayo kadagiti siudad para kadagiti pamiliayo ken pagapunan para kadagiti karneroyo; ket aramidenyo ti imbagayo.”
And you shall build for yourselves cities for your store, and folds for your cattle; and you shall do that which proceeds out of your mouth.
25 Nagsao kenni Moises dagiti kaputotan ni Gad ken ni Ruben ket kinunada, “Aramiden dagiti adipenmo dagiti imbilinmo nga amomi.
And the sons of Ruben and the sons of Gad spoke to Moses, saying, Your servants will do as our lord commands.
26 Agnaed kadagiti siudad ti Galaad dagiti ubbingmi, dagiti assawami, dagiti arbanmi, ken dagiti amin a dingwenmi.
Our store, and our wives, and all our cattle shall be in the cities of Galaad.
27 Nupay kasta, dakami nga adipenmo ket bumallasiw a makiranget iti imatang ni Yahweh, tunggal lalaki a nakaarmas a makigubat, kas imbagam nga amomi.”
But your servants will go over all armed and set in order before the Lord to battle, as [our] lord says.
28 Isu a binilin ni Moises ni Eleazar a padi, ni Josue nga anak ni Nun ken dagiti mangidadaulo kadagiti puli dagiti kapuonan kadagiti tribu dagiti tattao ti Israel maipanggep kadakuada.
And Moses appointed to them [for judges] Eleazar the priest, and Joshua the son of Naue, and the chiefs of the families of the tribes of Israel.
29 Kinuna ni Moises kadakuada, “No makiballasiw kadakayo idiay Jordan dagiti kaputotan ni Gad ken ni Ruben, tunggal lalaki a nakasagana a makigubat iti imatang ni Yahweh, ken no natagikuayo ti daga, ket itedyo kadakuada ti daga ti Galaad a kas sanikuada.
And Moses said to them, If the sons of Ruben and the sons of Gad will pass over Jordan with you, every one armed for war before the Lord, and you shall subdue the land before you, then you shall give to them the land of Galaad for a possession.
30 Ngem no saanda a makiballasiw kadakayo a nakaarmas a makigubat, ket makibingaydanto kadakayo kadagiti sanikua iti daga ti Canaan.”
But if they will not pass over armed with you to war before the Lord, then shall you cause to pass over their possessions and their wives and their cattle before you into the land of Chanaan, and they shall inherit with you in the land of Chanaan.
31 Isu a simmungbat dagiti kaputotan ni Gad ken Ruben ket kinunada, “Kas imbaga ni Yahweh kadakami nga adipenmo, daytoy ti aramidenmi.
And the sons of Ruben and the sons of Gad answered, saying, Whatsoever the Lord says to his servants, that will we do.
32 Bumallasiwkami a nakaarmas a makigubat iti imatang ni Yahweh iti daga ti Canaan, ngem makipagtalinaed kadakami dagiti natagikuami a tawid iti daytoy a paset ti Jordan.”
We will go over armed before the Lord into the land of Chanaan, and you shall give us our inheritance beyond Jordan.
33 Isu nga inted ni Moises kadagiti kaputotan ni Gad ken Ruben, ken kasta met iti guddua a tribu ni Manases nga anak ni Jose ti pagarian ni Sihon, nga ari dagiti Amorreo, ken ni Og nga ari ti Basan. Intedna kadakuada ti daga, ken inwarasna kadakuada dagiti amin a siudad agraman dagiti beddengda, dagiti siudad iti daga a nakapalikmut kadakuada.
And Moses gave to them, even to the sons of Gad and the sons of Ruben, and to the half tribe of Manasse of the sons of Joseph, the kingdom of Seon king of the Amorites, and the kingdom of Og king of Basan, the land and its cities with its coasts, the cities of the land round about.
34 Binangon manen dagiti kaputotan ni Gad ti Dibon, Atarot, Aroer,
And the sons of Gad built Daebon, and Ataroth, and Aroer,
35 Atrot Sofan, Jazer, Jogbeha,
and Sophar, and Jazer, and they set them up,
36 Bet Nimra, ken Bet Haran a kas natalged a siudad nga addaan kadagiti pagapunan para kadagiti karnero.
and Namram, and Baetharan, strong cities, and folds for sheep.
37 Binangon manen dagiti kaputotan ni Ruben ti Hesbon, Eleale, Kiriataim,
And the sons of Ruben built Esebon, and Eleale, and Kariatham,
38 Nebo, Baal Meon—nabaliwan dagiti naganda, ken Sibma. Pinanagananda iti sabali a nagan dagiti siudad a binangonda.
and Beelmeon, surrounded [with walls], and Sebama; and they called the names of the cities which they built, after their own names.
39 Napan dagiti kaputotan ni Makir nga anak ni Manases idiay Galaad ket sinakupda daytoy kadagiti Amorreo nga adda iti daytoy.
And a son of Machir the son of Manasse went to Galaad, and took it, and destroyed the Amorite who lived in it.
40 Ket inted ni Moises ti Galaad kenni Makir nga anak ni Manases, ket nagnaed dagiti tattaona sadiay.
And Moses gave Galaad to Machir the son of Manasse, and he lived there.
41 Napan ni Jair nga anak ni Manases ket sinakupna dagiti ili iti dayta a lugar ket pinanagananna dagitoy iti Havvoth Jair.
And Jair the [son] of Manasse went and took their villages, and called them the villages of Jair.
42 Napan ni Noba ket sinakupna ti Kenat ken dagiti barrio iti daytoy a lugar, ket impanaganna iti daytoy ti naganna a Noba.
And Nabau went and took Caath and her villages, and called them Naboth after his name.
