< Nehemias 13 >
1 Iti dayta nga aldaw, imbasa dagiti padi ti Libro ni Moises a mangmangngeg dagiti tattao. Naduktalanda a nakasurat iti daytoy a nasken a saan a makitipon dagiti Ammonita wenno Moabita iti taripnong ti Dios, iti agnanayon.
Now on that day, they read from the book of Moses in the hearing of the people. And in it, there was found written that the Ammonites and the Moabites must not enter the church of God, even for all time,
2 Gapu ta saanda a nangted iti tinapay ken danum kadagiti tattao ti Israel, ngem ketdi tinangdananda ni Balaam a mangilunod iti Israel. Nupay kasta, pinagbalin ti Diostayo ti lunod a bendision.
because they did not meet the sons of Israel with bread and water, and they hired Balaam against them, to curse them. But our God turned the curse into a blessing.
3 Apaman a nangngegda ti linteg, inlasinda dagiti amin a gangannaet manipud iti Israel.
Now it happened that, when they had heard the law, they separated every foreigner from Israel.
4 Ita, sakbay a nadutokan ni Eliasib a padi a mangaywan kadagiti siled a pagiduldulinan iti balay ti Diostayo. Gayyemnan ni Tobias.
And Eliashib, the priest, was over this task; he had been given charge of the treasury of the house of our God, and he was a close relative of Tobiah.
5 Insagana ni Eliasib ti dakkel a siled a pagiduldulinan para kenni Tobias, a sigud a pagikabkabilanda kadagiti daton a bukbukel, kadagiti insenso, kadagiti alikamen, ken kadagiti apagkapullo ti trigo, baro nga arak, ken ti lana, a nairanta para kadagiti Levita, kadagiti kumakanta, kadagiti guardia ti ruangan, ken kadagiti kontribusion para kadagiti papadi.
Then he made for himself a large storeroom, and in that place, there was laid before him gifts, and frankincense, and vessels, and the tithes of grain, wine, and oil, the portions of the Levites, and of the singing men, and of the gatekeepers, and the first-fruits of the priests.
6 Ngem iti tiempo a mapaspasamak amin dagitoy, awanak idiay Jerusalem. Gapu ta iti maikatallopulo ket dua a tawen a panagari ni Artaxerxes iti Babilonia, napanak iti ayan ti ari. Saan a nagbayag, nagkiddawak iti ari iti pammalubos a pumanaw,
But during all this, I was not in Jerusalem, because in the thirty-second year of Artaxerxes, the king of Babylon, I went to the king, and at the end of some days, I petitioned the king.
7 ket nagsubliak idiay Jerusalem. Natakuatak ti dakes nga inaramid ni Eliasib a panangipaaramatna kenni Tobias iti siled a pagiduldulinan iti paraangan iti balay ti Dios.
And I went to Jerusalem, and I understood the evil that Eliashib had done for Tobiah, such that he would make him a storeroom in the vestibules of the house of God.
8 Kasta unay ti ungetko ket impurruakko dagiti alikamen ni Tobias iti ruar ti siled a pagiduldulinan.
And it seemed to me very evil. And I cast the vessels of the house of Tobiah outside of the storeroom.
9 Imbilinko nga aramidenda ti seremonia ti pannakadalus kadagiti siled a pagiduldulinan, ket insublik kadagitoy dagiti alikamen iti balay ti Dios, dagiti daton a trigo, ken ti insenso.
And I gave instructions, and they cleansed again the storeroom. And I brought back, into that place, the vessels of the house of God, the sacrifice, and the frankincense.
10 Ken natakuatak a saan a naibunong kadagiti Levita dagiti bingay a nairanta a maited kadakuada, isu a dagus a pinanawanda ti templo, ket nagturong ti tunggal maysa iti talonna, kasta met ti inaramid dagiti kumakanta nga agserserbi.
And I realized that the portions of the Levites had not been given to them, and that each one had fled into his own region, from the Levites, and from the singing men, and from those who were ministering.
11 Isu nga inungtak dagiti opisial ket kinunak kadakuada, “Apayen a nabaybay-an ti balay ti Dios?” Inummongko ida ken pinaggianko ida kadagiti kampoda.
And I brought the case before the magistrates, and I said, “Why have we forsaken the house of God?” And I gathered them together, and I caused them to stand at their stations.
12 Ket inyeg dagiti amin a taga-Juda ti apagkapullo ti trigo, baro nga arak, ken ti lana kadagiti siled a pagiduldulinan.
And all of Judah brought the tithes of the grain, and the wine, and the oil into the storehouses.
13 Insaadko a kas tresurero kadagiti siled a pagiduldulinan da Selemias a padi, Zadok nga eskriba, ken Pedaias a nagtaud iti Levita. Sumaruno kadakuada ni Hanan a putot ni Zaccur a putot ni Matanias, gapu ta ammok a mapagtalkak ida. Ti trabahoda ket agibunong kadagiti abasto kadagiti padada nga agtrabtrabaho.
And we appointed over the storehouses, Shelemiah, the priest, and Zadok, the scribe, and Pedaiah from the Levites, and next to them Hanan, the son of Zaccur, the son of Mattaniah. For they had proven to be faithful. And so the portions of their brothers were entrusted to them.
14 Laglagipem, O Diosko ti maipapan iti daytoy, ken saanmo koma a punasen dagiti nasasayaat nga inaramidko para iti balay ti Diosko ken dagiti trabaho iti daytoy.
Remember me, O my God, because of this, and may you not wipe away my acts of compassion, which I have done for the house of my God and for his ceremonies.
15 Kadidiay nga aldaw, nakakitaak kadagiti tattao idiay Juda nga agpespespes iti ubas iti Aldaw a Panaginana ken agaw-awitda kadagiti trigo ket ilugluganda dagitoy kadagiti asnoda, ken kasta met ti arak, ubas, igos, ken amin a kita dagiti nadagsen a karga sada inyeg idiay Jerusalem iti Aldaw a Panaginana. Nagririak ta aglaklakoda kadagiti taraon iti dayta nga aldaw.
In those days, I saw, in Judah, some who were treading the presses on the Sabbath, and who were carrying sheaves, and placing on donkeys burdens of wine, and of grapes, and of figs, and all manner of burdens, and who were bringing these into Jerusalem on the day of the Sabbath. And I contended with them, so that they would sell on a day when it was permitted to sell.
16 Nagisangpet dagiti lallaki a taga-Tiro nga agnanaed idiay Jerusalem iti lames ken amin a kita ti magatang, ket inlakoda dagitoy kadagiti tattao ti Juda ken iti entero a siudad iti Aldaw a Panaginana!
And some Tyrians dwelt within, who were bringing fish and all kinds of items for sale. And they were selling on the Sabbaths to the sons of Judah in Jerusalem.
17 Binabalawko ngarud dagiti pangulo ti Juda, “Ania daytoy a dakes nga ar-aramidenyo, saanyo a raraemen ti Aldaw a Panaginana?
And I put the nobles of Judah under oath, and I said to them: “What is this evil thing that you are doing, profaning the Sabbath day?
18 Saan kadi nga inaramid dagiti ammayo daytoy? Ken saan kadi nga inyeg ti Diostayo amin dagitoy a dakes kadatayo ken iti daytoy a siudad? Ita, ad-adda pay a pagpungpungtotenyo ti Dios iti Israel gapu iti saanyo a panagraem iti Aldaw a Panaginana.”
Did not our fathers do these things, and so our God brought all this evil upon us and upon this city? And you are adding more wrath upon Israel by violating the Sabbath!”
19 Apaman a sumipnget iti ruangan ti Jerusalem sakbay a mangrugi ti Aldaw a Panaginana, imbilinko a marikpan dagiti ridaw ken nasken a saan a maluktan dagitoy agingga a malpas ti Aldaw a Panaginana. Pinagbantayko dagiti sumagmamano kadagiti adipenko iti ruangan tapno awan ti karga a maiyuneg iti Aldaw a Panaginana.
And it happened that, when the gates of Jerusalem had rested on the day of the Sabbath, I spoke, and they closed the gates. And I instructed that they should not open them until after the Sabbath. And I appointed some of my servants over the gates, so that no one would carry in a burden on the day of the Sabbath.
20 Naminsan wenno namindua a nagkampo dagiti komersiante ken dagiti aglaklako iti amin a kita ti tagilako iti ruar ti Jerusalem.
And so the merchants and those who sold all kinds of items remained just outside of Jerusalem, once and again.
21 Ngem binallaagak ida, “Apay ngay nga agkamkampokayo iti ruar ti pader? No aramidenyonto pay daytoy, pagtalawenkayo!” Manipud iti dayta a tiempo saandan nga immay iti Aldaw a Panaginana.
And I contended with them, and I said to them: “Why are you remaining just beyond the wall? If you do this again, I will send hands upon you.” And so, from that time, they no longer came on the Sabbath.
22 Ken binilinko dagiti Levita nga aramidenda ti seremonia ti pannakadalusda, sada mapan guardiaan dagiti ruangan, tapno mangilin ti Aldaw a Panaginana. Laglagipem met daytoy, O Diosko, ken kaassiannak gapu iti kinapudnom iti tulagmo kaniak.
I also spoke to the Levites, so that they would be cleansed, and would arrive to guard the gates and to sanctify the day of the Sabbath. Because of this also, O my God, remember me and spare me, in accord with the multitude of your mercies.
23 Kadagidiay nga aldaw, nakitak pay dagiti Judio a nakiasawa kadagiti babbai a taga-Asdod, Ammon ken Moab.
But also in those days, I saw some Jews taking wives from the Ashdodites, and the Ammonites, and the Moabites.
24 Kagudua ti bilang dagiti annakda ti agsasao iti pagsasao ti Asdod, ngem saanda a makapagsao iti pagsasao ti Juda, ti laeng pagsasao dagiti tattao a pagnanaedanda.
And their sons spoke partly in the speech of Ashdod, and they did not know how to speak the Jewish language, and they were speaking according to the language of one people or another.
25 Ket inungtak ida, inlunodko ida, kinabilko ti dadduma kadakuada ken pinarutko dagiti bubuokda. Pinagsapatak ida iti sangoanan ti Dios, kinunak, “Saanyo ipaasawa dagiti annakyo a babbai kadagiti annakda a lallaki, wenno ipaasawa dagiti annakda a babbai kadagiti annakyo a lallaki, wenno saanyo nga asawaen dagiti annakda a babbai.
And I put them under oath, and I cursed them. And I struck some of their men, and I shaved off their hair, and I made them swear to God that they would not give their daughters to their sons, nor take their daughters for their sons, nor for themselves, saying:
26 Saan kadi a dagitoy a babbai ti nakaigapuan ti panagbasol ni Solomon nga ari ti Israel? Kadagiti adu a nasion awan ti ari a kas kenkuana, ken inayat isuna ti Diosna. Ken pinagturay ti Dios isuna nga ari iti entero nga Israel. Uray no kasta, dagiti ganggannaet nga assawana ti makagapu a nagbasol isuna.
“Did not Solomon, king of Israel, sin in this kind of thing? And certainly, among many nations, there was no king similar to him, and he was beloved of his God, and God set him as king over all of Israel. And yet foreign women led even him into sin!
27 Dumngegkami kadi kadakayo ket aramidenmi amin daytoy a kinadakes ken agsukirkami iti Dios babaen iti panangasawami kadagiti ganggannaet a babbai?”
So how could we disobey and do all this great evil, so that we would transgress against our God, and take foreign wives?”
28 Maysa kadagiti annak ni Joyada a putot ni Eliasib a nangato a padi ket manugang ni Sanballat a Horonita. Pinapanawko ngarud isuna idiay Jerusalem.
Now one of the sons of Joiada, the son of Eliashib, the high priest, was a son-in-law to Sanballat, a Horonite, and I made him flee from me.
29 Laglagipem ida O, Diosko, gapu iti panangtulawda iti akem a kinapadi, ken iti katulagan ti kinapadi ken dagiti Levita.
O Lord, my God, remember against those who defile the priesthood and the law of the priests and the Levites!
30 Ket inaramidko ti seremonia ti pannakadalusda kadagiti amin a ganggannaet, ken imbagak dagiti pagrebbengan dagiti padi ken dagiti Levita, ti tunggal maysa iti trabahona.
And so I cleansed them from all foreigners, and I established the orders of the priests and the Levites, each one in his ministry.
31 Impaayko dagiti kayo a pangpuor iti daton iti umno a tiempo ken dagiti umuna a bunga. Laglagipennak, O Diosko, para iti pagsayaatak.
O my God, remember me also, for good, because of the offering of wood, at the appointed times, and because of the first-fruits. Amen.
