< Nahum 2 >

1 Umayen ti tao a mangrebbek kenka. Bantayam dagiti pader ti siudad, guardiaam dagiti dalan, papigsaem ta bagim, ummongem dagiti armadam.
He that dasheth in pieces is come up before thy face: keep the munition, watch the way, make [thy] loins strong, fortify [thy] power mightily.
2 Ta isubsubli ni Yahweh ti kinatan-ok ni Jacob, kas iti kinatan-ok ti Israel, uray dinadael ida dagiti mangsamsamsam ken dinadaelda dagiti sanga ti ubasda.
For the LORD hath turned away the excellence of Jacob, as the excellence of Israel: for the emptiers have emptied them out, and marred their vine branches.
3 Nalabbaga dagiti kalasag dagiti maingel a tattaona, ken nakakawes iti nalabbaga dagiti natutured a lallaki; agraniag dagiti landok ti karwahe iti aldaw a panagsaganada, ken naiwaradiwad iti tangatang dagiti sipres a gayang.
The shield of his mighty men is made red, the valiant men [are] in scarlet: the chariots [shall be] with flaming torches in the day of his preparation, and the fir-trees shall be terribly shaken.
4 Napegges ti panagtaray dagiti karwahe kadagiti kalsada; agdardarasda nga agsubli-subli kadagiti nalawa a kalkalsada. Kasdala dagiti pagsilawan ken agtatarayda a kasla kimat.
The chariots shall rage in the streets, they shall jostle one against another in the broad ways: they shall seem like torches, they shall run like the lightnings.
5 Ay-ayaban ti tao a mangrebbek kenka dagiti opisyalna; maitublakda iti tunggal maysa iti pannagnada; agdardarasda a mangraut iti pader ti siudad. Naisaganan ti dakkel a kalasag a mangsalaknib kadagitoy a mangraraut.
He shall recount his worthies: they shall stumble in their walk; they shall make haste to the wall thereof, and the defense shall be prepared.
6 Napilit a nailukat dagiti ruangan kadagiti karayan, ket nadadael ti palasio.
The gates of the rivers shall be opened, and the palace shall be dissolved.
7 Naussoban ti pagan-anay ti reyna ken naitalaw; agas-asug dagiti adipenna a babbai a kasla dagiti kalapati, dandanugenda dagiti barukongda.
And Huzzab shall be led away captive, she shall be brought up, and her maids shall lead [her] as with the voice of doves, tabering upon their breasts.
8 Ti Ninive ket kasla naisawang a danum, a kasla napegges a danum nga agliblibas dagiti tattaona. Ipukpukkaw dagiti dadduma, “Agsardengkayo, agsardengkayo,” ngem awan ti tumalyaw.
But Nineveh [is] of old like a pool of water: yet they shall flee away. Stand, stand, [shall they cry]; but none shall look back.
9 Alaenyo ti nasamsam a pirak, alaenyo ti nasamsam a balitok, gapu ta awan patingga daytoy, ti dayag dagiti amin a napipintas a banbanag ti Nineve.
Take ye the spoil of silver, take the spoil of gold: for [there is] no end of the store [and] glory out of all the pleasant furniture.
10 Langalang ken nadadael ti Nineve. Marunaw ti puso iti tunggal maysa, agtitim-og dagiti tumtumeng ti tunggal maysa, ken adda ladingit iti tunggal maysa; pimmusyaw amin dagiti rupada.
She is empty, and void, and waste: and the heart melteth, and the knees smite together, and much pain [is] in all loins, and the faces of them all gather blackness.
11 Sadino ngay itan ti rukib ti leon, ti lugar a pangpanganan dagiti urbon a leon, ti lugar a pagpagnaan ti leon ken ti kabaian a leon, agraman dagiti urbon a leon, no sadino ket awan ti pagbutbutnganda?
Where [is] the dwelling of the lions, and the feeding-place of the young lions, where the lion, [even] the old lion, walked, [and] the lion's whelp, and none made [them] afraid?
12 Rinangrangkay ti leon ti natiliwna para kadagiti annakna; Binekkelna dagiti natiliwna a maipaay iti kabaian a leon, ken pinunnona ti rukibna kadagiti natiliwna, ken ti rukibna kadagiti narangrangkay a natay a bagi ti ayup.
The lion tore in pieces enough for his whelps, and strangled for his lionesses, and filled his holes with prey, and his dens with ravin.
13 “Kitaem, bimmusorak kenka”—kastoy ti pakaammo ni Yahweh a Mannakabalin-amin. “Uramekto dagiti karwahem iti asuk, ken alun-onento ti kampilan dagiti urbon a leonmo. Pukawekto ti sinamsammo manipud iti dagam, ken saanton a mangngegan pay dagiti timek dagiti mensaherom.”
Behold, I [am] against thee, saith the LORD of hosts, and I will burn her chariots in the smoke, and the sword shall devour thy young lions: and I will cut off thy prey from the earth, and the voice of thy messengers shall no more be heard.
