< Mateo 22 >

1 Nangibaga pay ni Jesus kadakuada kadagiti pangngarig a kunana,
Once more Jesus spoke to them in parables.
2 “Ti pagarian ti langit ket maiyarig iti maysa nga ari a nangrambak iti panagkasar ti anakna a lalaki.
“The kingdom of heaven,” he said, “may be compared to a king who gave a banquet in honor of his son’s wedding.
3 Imbaonna dagiti adipenna a mangayab kadagiti naawis nga umay iti boda, ngem saanda nga immay.
He sent his servants to call those who had been invited to the banquet, but they were unwilling to come.
4 Nangibaon manen ti ari kadagiti sabali nga adipen, a kunana, 'Ibagayo kadagiti naawis, “Kitaenyo, naisaganakon dagiti makan. Napartin dagiti baka ken dagiti napalukmeg nga urbon, ket nakasaganan ti amin. Umaykayon iti boda.'''
A second time he sent some servants, with orders to say to those who had been invited ‘I have prepared my meal, my cattle and fat beasts are killed and everything is ready; come to the banquet.’
5 Ngem saanda nga inkaskaso ket pimmanawda, maysa ken maysa, napan iti talonna, ken dadduma met ket kadagiti pagbirukanda.
They, however, took no notice, but went off, one to their farm, another to their business;
6 Kinemmeg ti dadduma dagiti adipen ti ari, ket pinabainanda ida, sada pinatay.
while the rest, seizing his servants, ill-treated them and killed them.
7 Nakapungtot ti ari ket nangibaon kadagiti soldadona ket pinatayda dagiti mammapatay, sada pinuoran ti siudadda.
The king, in anger, sent his troops, put those murderers to death, and set their city on fire.
8 Ket kinunana kadagiti adipenna, 'Nakasaganan ti padaya, ngem saan a maikari dagiti naawis.
Then he said to his servants ‘The banquet is prepared, but those who were invited were not worthy.
9 Ngarud mapankayo kadagiti kangrunaan a dalan a nagsasabatan dagiti kalkalsada ket awisenyo amin a tattao a masalawyo nga umay makiboda.'
So go to the cross-roads, and invite everyone you find to the banquet.’
10 Napan dagiti adipen kadagiti kalkalsada ket inummongong amin a tattao a nasarakanda, dakes ken naimbag. Isu a napunno ti salunan kadagiti bisita.
The servants went out into the roads and collected all the people whom they found, whether bad or good; and the bridal-hall was filled with guests.
11 idi simrek ti ari a mangkita kadagiti sangaili, adda nakitana a maysa a lalaki a saan a nakakawes iti pangkasar.
But, when the king went in to see his guests, he noticed there a man who had not put on a wedding-robe.
12 Kinuna ti ari kenkuana, 'Gayyem, kasanoka a nakastrek ditoy a saanka a nakakawes iti pangkasar?' Ket saan a nakatagari ti lalaki.
So he said to him ‘My friend, how is it that you came in here without a wedding-robe?’ The man was speechless.
13 Ket kinuna ti ari kadagiti adipenna, 'Galutanyo ti ima ken saka daytoy a lalaki, ket ibellengyo idiay ruar a kasipngetan, a sadiay ket addanto ti panagsangsangit ken panagngaretnget dagiti ngipen.'
Then the king said to the attendants ‘Tie him hand and foot, and put him out into the darkness outside, where there will be weeping and grinding of teeth.’
14 Ta adu dagiti tattao a naayaban, ngem sumagmamano ti napili.”
For many are called, but few chosen.”
15 Kalpasanna, pimmanaw dagiti Pariseo ket pinagtutungtonganda no kasanoda a mapalab-ogan ni Jesus kadagiti saona.
Then the Pharisees went away and conferred together as to how they might lay a trap for Jesus in the course of conversation.
16 Ket imbaonda kenkuana dagiti adalanda, agraman dagiti Herodiano. Kinunada kenni Jesus, “Maestro, ammomi a napudnoka, ken isursurom ti kinapudno maipanggep iti wagas ti Dios. Saanmo nga ikaskaso ti kapanunotan ti siasinoman, ken awan ti idumdumam kadagiti tattao.
They sent their disciples, with the Herodians, to say to him, “Teacher, we know that you are an honest person, and that you teach the way of God honestly, and are not afraid of anyone; for you pay no regard to a person’s position.
17 Isu nga ibagam kadakami, ania ti kapanunotam? Nainkalintegan kadi ti panagbayad iti buis kenni Cesar wenno saan?”
Tell us, then, what you think. Are we right in paying taxes to the Emperor, or not?”
18 Ngem naawatan ni Jesus ti kinadakesda ket kinunana, “Apay a susuotendak, dakayo a managinsisingpet?
Perceiving their malice, Jesus answered, “Why are you testing me, you hypocrites?
19 Ipakitayo kaniak ti barya a maibayad iti buis.” Ket nangyegda kenkuana iti denario.
Show me the coin with which the tax is paid.” And, when they had brought him a coin,
20 Kinuna ni Jesus kadakuada, “Siasino ti makinladawan ken makinnagan kadagitoy?”
he asked, “Whose head and title are these?”
21 Kinunada kenkuana, “ni Cesar.” Ket kinuna ni Jesus kadakuada, “Itedyo ngarud kenni Cesar dagiti banag a para kenni Cesar, ken iti Dios dagiti banag a para iti Dios.”
“The Emperor’s,” they answered, at which he said to them, “Then pay to the Emperor what belongs to the Emperor, and to God what belongs to God.”
22 Idi nangngegda dayta, nasdaawda. Ket imbatida isuna ket pimmanawda.
They wondered at his answer, and left him alone and went away.
23 Iti dayta met la nga aldaw, adda sumagmamano a Saduceo nga immasideg kenkuana, isuda dagiti mangibagbaga nga awan ti panagungar. Nagsaludsodda kenkuana,
That same day some Sadducees came up to Jesus, maintaining that there is no resurrection. Their question was this, –
24 a kinunada, “Maestro, kinuna ni Moises, 'No matay ti maysa a lalaki, nga awanan iti annak, masapul nga asawaen ti kabsatna a lalaki ti asawana ket maaddaan isuna iti anak babaen iti kabsatna a lalaki.'
“Teacher, Moses said – ‘should a man die without children, the man’s brother will become the husband of the widow, and raise a family for his brother.’
25 Adda pito nga agkakabsat a lallaki. Nangasawa ti inauna ket kalpasanna natay. Agsipud ta awan putotna, imbatina ti asawana iti kabsatna a lalaki.
Now we had living among us seven brothers; of whom the eldest married and died, and, as he had no family, left his wife for his brother.
26 Ket isu met laeng ti inaramid ti maikadua a kabsatna a lalaki, kasta met iti maikatlo, agingga iti maikapito a kabsatna a lalaki.
The same thing happened to the second and the third brothers, and indeed to all the seven.
27 Kalpasanda amin, natay ti babai.
The woman herself died last of all.
28 Ita iti panagungar, siasino kadagiti pito nga agkakabsat a lallaki ti makin-asawa iti babai? Ta aminda ket nagbalin nga asawana.”
At the resurrection, then, whose wife will she be out of the seven, all of them having been married to her?”
29 Ngem simmungbat ni Jesus ket kinunana kadakuada, “Nagbiddutkayo, gapu ta saanyo nga ammo ti Nasantoan a Sursurat wenno ti pannakabalin ti Dios.
“Your mistake,” replied Jesus, “is due to your ignorance of the scriptures, and of the power of God.
30 Ta inton panagungar ket saandan a mangasawa, wenno agbalin nga asawa. Ngem ketdi, kasladanto kadagiti anghel idiay langit.
For at the resurrection there is no marrying or being married, but all who rise are as angels in heaven.
31 Ngem no maipanggep iti panagungar dagiti natay, saanyo kadi a nabasa ti naisao kadakayo ti Dios, a kunana,
As to the resurrection of the dead, have you not read these words of God –
32 ’Siak ti Dios ni Abraham, ti Dios ni Isaac, ken ti Dios ni Jacob'? Ti Dios ket saan a Dios dagiti natay, ngem kadagiti sibibiag.”
‘I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’? He is not the God of dead people, but of living.”
33 Idi nangngegan daytoy dagiti adu a tattao, nasdaawda iti panursurona.
The crowds, who had been listening to him, were greatly struck with his teaching.
34 Ngem idi nangngeg dagiti Pariseo a napaulimek ni Jesus dagiti Saduceo, naguummongda.
When the Pharisees heard that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, they collected together.
35 Maysa kadakuada, a maysa nga abogado ti nagsaludsod kenkuana, kas panangsuotna kenkuana—
Then one of them, a Student of the Law, to test him, asked this question –
36 “Maestro, ania ti kangrunaan a bilin iti linteg?”
“Teacher, what is the greatest commandment in the Law?”
37 Kinuna ni Jesus kenkuana, '''Ayatem ti Apo a Diosmo iti amin a pusom, iti amin a kararruam, ken iti amin a panunotmo.'
His answer was, “You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.
38 Daytoy ti kangrunaan ken umuna a bilin.
This is the great first commandment.
39 Ket ti maikadua a bilin ket kas met la iti daytoy— ‘Ayatem ti kaarrubam kas iti bagim.
The second, which is like it, is this – You must love your neighbor as you love yourself.
40 Kadagitoy dua a bilbilin, isu ti pagbatayan iti sibubukel a linteg ken dagiti profeta.”
On these two commandments hang all the Law and the prophets.”
41 Ita, kabayatan a naummong pay laeng dagiti Pariseo, nagdamag ni Jesus iti maysa a saludsod kadakuada.
Before the Pharisees separated, Jesus put this question to them –
42 Kinunana, “Ania iti kapanunutanyo maipapan iti Cristo? Siasino ti makin-anak kenkuana?” Kinunada kenkuana, “Anak a lalaki ni David.”
“What do you think about the Christ? Whose son is he?” “David’s,” they said.
43 Kinuna ni Jesus kadakuada, “Apay ngarud nga inawagan isuna ni David iti Apo babaen iti Espiritu, a kunana,
“How is it, then,” Jesus replied, “that David, speaking under inspiration, calls him ‘lord,’ in the passage –
44 'Kinuna ti Apo iti Apok, “Agtugawka iti makannawan nga imak, agingga a pagbalinek a pagbatayan dagiti sakam dagiti kabusormo.'”?
‘The Lord said to my Lord: Sit at my right hand, until I put your enemies beneath your feet’?
45 No inawagan ni David ni Cristo iti Apo', kasano a nagbalin isuna a putot ni David?”
Since, then, David calls him ‘lord,’ how is he David’s son?”
46 Awan ti uray maysa a nakasungbat kenkuana, ken awanen ti uray maysa a tao a nakaitured a nagdamag iti adu pay a saludsod kenkuana manipud iti dayta nga aldaw.
No one could say a word in answer; nor did anyone after that day venture to question him further.
