Marcos 6
1 Pimmanaw ni Jesus sadiay ket dimteng isuna iti bukodna nga ili, a Nazaret. Kimmuyog kenkuana dagiti adalanna.
On leaving that place, Jesus, followed by his disciples, went to his own part of the country.
2 Iti Aldaw ti Panaginana, nangisuro isuna iti sinagoga. Adu ti nakangngeg kenkuana ket nasdaawda. Kinunada, “Sadino ti nangalaanna kadagitoy a sursuro?” “Ania daytoy a kinasirib a naited kenkuana?” “Ania dagitoy a milagro nga ar-aramidenna babaen kadagiti imana?”
When the Sabbath came, he began to teach in the synagogue; and the people, as they listened, were deeply impressed. “Where did he get this?” they said, “and what is this wisdom that has been given him? And these miracles which he is doing?
3 “Saan kadi a daytoy ti karpintero, nga anak a lalaki ni Maria, ken kabsat da Santiago, Jose, Judas ken Simeon? Saan kadi nga adda ditoy kadatayo dagiti kakabsatna a babbai?” Ket narurodda kenni Jesus.
Isn’t he the carpenter, the son of Mary, and the brother of James, and Joses, and Judas, and Simon? And aren’t his sisters, too, living here among us?” This proved a hindrance to their believing in him;
4 Ket kinuna ni Jesus kadakuada, “Saan nga awanan iti dayaw iti maysa a propeta, malaksid iti bukodna nga ili ken kadagiti kakabagianna, ken iti bukodna a balay.”
at which Jesus said, “A prophet is not without honor, except in his home town, and among his own relatives, and in his own home.”
5 Saanna a nabalinan ti agaramid iti aniaman a nabileg nga aramid idiay, malaksid iti panangipatayna kadagiti imana kadagiti sumagmamano a masaksakit a tattao ket pinaimbagna isuda.
And he could not work any miracle there, beyond placing his hands on a few infirm persons, and curing them;
6 Nasdaaw isuna iti saanda a panamati. Ket sinusorna dagiti bario a napan nangisuro.
and he wondered at the want of faith shown by the people. Jesus went around the villages, one after another, teaching.
7 Ket inayabanna dagiti sangapulo ket dua ket inrugina nga imbaon ida a sagdudua; inikkanna ida iti kabaelan a mangpaksiat kadagiti narugit nga espiritu,
He called the Twelve to him, and began to send them out as his messengers, two and two, and gave them authority over foul spirits.
8 ket imbilinna kadakuada a saanda a mangitugot iti uray ania iti panagdaliasatda malaksid laeng iti sarukod. Saanda a mangitugot iti tinapay, bay-on, ken kuarta kadagiti barikesda,
He instructed them to take nothing but a staff for the journey – not even bread, or a bag, or coins in their purse;
9 ngem mangisuotda iti sandalias, ken saanda a mangisuot iti dua a kagay.
but they were to wear sandals, and not to put on a second coat.
10 Kinunana, “Tunggal sumrekkayo iti maysa a balay, agtalinaedkayo iti daytoy agingga a pumanawkayo.
“Whenever you go to stay at a house,” he said, “remain there until you leave that place;
11 Ket no adda ili a saandakayo nga awaten wenno denggen, panawanyo dayta a lugar, wagwagenyo ti tapok nga adda iti sirok dagiti sakayo, kas pammaneknek kadakuada.”
and if a place does not welcome you, or listen to you, as you go out of it shake off the dust that is on the soles of your feet, as a protest against them.”
12 Rimmuarda ket inwaragawagda kadagiti tattao a masapul nga adaywan ken tallikudanda dagiti basbasolda.
So they set out, and proclaimed the need of repentance.
13 Pinaksiatda iti adu a demonio, ken sinapsapoanda iti lana iti adu a masaksakit a tattao, ket pinaimbagda ida.
They drove out many demons, and anointed with oil many who were infirm, and cured them.
14 Nangngeg ni Ari Herodes daytoy, gapu ta nagdinamagen ti nagan ni Jesus. Adda dagiti mangibagbaga a, “Napagungar ni Juan a Mammuniag manipud kadagiti natay ket gapu iti daytoy a maar-aramidna dagitoy nakakaskasda-aw a pannakabalin.”
Now King Herod heard of Jesus; for his name had become well known. People were saying – “John the Baptizer must have risen from the dead, and that is why these miraculous powers are active in him.”
15 Kinuna met dagiti dadduma, “Isuna ni Elias.” Adda met dagiti mangibagbaga, “Propeta isuna, kas kadagiti propeta idi agkakauna a tiempo.”
Others again said – “He is Elijah,” and others – “He is a prophet, like one of the great prophets.”
16 Ngem idi nangngegan ni Herodes daytoy, kinunana, “Ni Juan a pinugotak, ket napagungar!”
But when Herod heard of him, he said – “The man whom I beheaded – John – he must be risen!”
17 Ta nangibaon ni Herodes iti nangtiliw kenni Juan ken pinaibaludna iti pagbaludan, gapu kenni Herodias, (nga asawa ti kabsatna a lalaki a ni Felipe), gapu ta inasawana daytoy.
For Herod himself had sent and arrested John, and put him in prison, in chains, to please Herodias, the wife of his brother Philip, because Herod had married her.
18 Ta imbaga ni Juan kenni Herodes, “Saan a nainkalintegan nga alaem ti asawa ti kabsatmo.
For John had said to Herod – “You have no right to be living with your brother’s wife.”
19 Iti kasta, adda gura ni Herodias kenni Juan ket kayatna a patayen isuna, ngem saanna a maaramid daytoy,
So Herodias was incensed against John, and wanted to put him to death, but was unable to do so,
20 gapu ta adda panagbuteng ni Herodes kenni Juan; ammona nga isuna ket nalinteg ken nasantoan a tao, ket saanna nga intulok a madangran isuna. Kasta unay iti pannakariribuk ni Herodes no kasta nga agdengngeg isuna kenni, nu pay kasta, siraragsak latta isuna a nagdengngeg kenkuana.
because Herod stood in fear of John, knowing him to be an upright and holy man, and protected him. He had listened to John, but still remained much perplexed, and yet he found pleasure in listening to him.
21 Ket dimteng ti gundaway idi aldaw a panagkasangay ni Herodes ken nangisagana isuna iti pannangan para kadagiti opisialesna, kadagiti commandantena, ken kadagiti mangidadaulo iti Galilea.
A suitable opportunity, however, occurred when Herod, on his birthday, gave a dinner to his high officials, and his generals, and the foremost men in Galilee.
22 Ti anak a babai ni Herodias mismo ket immuneg ken nagsala para kadakuada, ket naay-ayona ni Herodes ken dagiti sangailina iti pannangan. Kinuna ti ari iti balasitang, “Dumawatka kaniak iti uray ania a banag a kayatmo ket itedko kenka.”
When his daughter – that is, the daughter of Herodias – came in and danced, she delighted Herod and those who were dining with him. “Ask me for whatever you like,” the king said to the girl, “and I will give it to you”;
23 Nagsapata isuna kenkuana a kinunana, “Aniaman a dawatem kaniak, itedko kenka, agingga iti kaguddua iti pagariak.”
and he swore to her that he would give her whatever she asked him – up to half his kingdom.
24 Rimmuar ti balasitang ket kinunana iti inana, “Ania iti rumbeng a dawatek kenkuana?” Kinunana, “Ti ulo ni Juan a Mammuniag.”
The girl went out, and said to her mother “What must I ask for?” “The head of John the Baptizer,” answered her mother.
25 Nagdardaras isuna a nagsubli iti pagtitipunan nga ayan ti ari ket dinawatna kenkuana, “Kayatko nga itedmo kaniak ita met laeng, ti ulo ni Juan a Mammuniag a naikabil iti bandehado.”
So she went in as quickly as possible to the king, and made her request. “I want you,” she said, “to give me at once, on a dish, the head of John the Baptist.”
26 Naleddaang unay ti ari, ngem gapu iti sapatana, ken gapu kadagiti sangailina, saanna a mabalin a pagkedkedan ti kiddawna.
The king was much distressed; yet, because of his oath and of the guests at his table, he did not like to refuse her.
27 Isu a nangibaon ti ari iti soldado a guwardiana ket binilinna isuna nga iyegna kenkuana ti ulo ni Juan. Napan ti guwardia ket pinugutanna ni Juan iti uneg ti pagbaludan.
He immediately dispatched one of his bodyguard, with orders to bring John’s head. The man went and beheaded John in the prison,
28 Inyegna ti ulo ni awan nga adda iti bandehado ket intedna iti babai, ket ti babai intedna daytoy iti inana.
and, bringing his head on a dish, gave it to the girl, and the girl gave it to her mother.
29 Idi nangngegan daytoy dagiti adalanna, immayda ket innalada ti bangkayna ket inkabilda daytoy iti tanem.
When John’s disciples heard of it, they came and took his body away, and laid it in a tomb.
30 Naguummong dagiti apostol iti aglawlaw ni Jesus, ket imbagada amin kenkuana dagiti inaramid ken insuroda.
When the apostles came back to Jesus, they told him all that they had done and all that they had taught.
31 Kinunana kadakuada, “Mapantayo a datdatayo iti lugar nga awan matataona ket aginanatayo bassit.” Ta adu dagiti umay ken pumanaw, ket awan ti tiempoda nga aginana, ken awan pay tiempoda a mangan.
“Come by yourselves privately to some lonely spot,” he said, “and rest for a while” – for there were so many people coming and going that they had not time even to eat.
32 Pimmanawda babaen iti bangka ket napanda a is-isuda iti lugar nga awan matataona.
So they set off privately in their boat for a lonely spot.
33 Ngem adu a tattao iti nakakita kadakuada a pumanpanaw ken adu iti nakabigbig kadakuada ket nagtatarayda sadiay manipud iti amin nga ili, ket simmangpetda sadiay sakbay kadakuada.
Many people saw them going, and recognized them, and from all the towns they flocked together to the place on foot, and got there before them.
34 Apaman a dimtengda iti igid, nakita ni Jesus dagiti nakaad-adu a tattao ket naasian isuna kadakuada, agsipud ta kaslada la karnero nga awan iti agipaspastor. Ket inrugina iti nangisuro kadakuada iti adu a banbanag.
On getting out of the boat, Jesus saw a great crowd, and his heart was moved at the sight of them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd; and he began to teach them many things.
35 Idi mumalemen, immay dagiti adalanna kenkuana ket kinunada, “Daytoy ket saan a matagtagitao a lugar ken mumalemen.
When it grew late, his disciples came up to him, and said, “This is a lonely spot, and it is already late.
36 Pagawidemon isuda tapno mabilananda a mapan iti asideg nga away ken kadagiti bario ket gumatangda iti aniaman a makan a kanenda.”
Send the people away, so that they may go to the farms and villages around and buy themselves something to eat.”
37 Ngem simmungbat isuna ket kinunana kadakuada, “Ikkanyo isuda iti aniaman a makan.” Kinunada kenkuana, “Mapan kami kadi gumatang iti aggatad iti dua a gasut a dinario a tinapay ket itedmi a kanenda?”
But Jesus answered, “It is for you to give them something to eat.” “Are we to go and spend almost a year’s wages on bread,” they asked, “to give them to eat?”
38 Kinunana kadakuada, “Mano ti tinapay nga adda kadakayo? Mapanyo ammoen.” Idi naammoanda, kinunada, “Lima a tinapay ken dua a lames.”
“How many loaves have you?” he asked, “Go, and see.” When they had found out, they told him, “Five, and two fish.”
39 Binilinna ngarud amin dagiti tattao nga agtugaw a nabunggu-bunggoy iti nalangto a karuotan.
Jesus directed them to make all the people take their seats on the green grass, in parties;
40 Nagtugawda a nabunggubunggoy; bunggoy iti sagsasangagasut ken saglilimapulo.
and they sat down in groups – in hundreds, and in fifties.
41 Iti panangalana iti lima a tinapay ken dua a lames, timmangad sadiay langit, binendisyonanna daytoy ken pinisipisina dagiti tinapay ket intedna kadagiti adalan tapno maidasar iti sangoanan dagiti adu a tattao. Biningayna ti dua a lames kadakuada amin.
Taking the five loaves and the two fish, Jesus looked up to heaven, and said the blessing; he broke the loaves into pieces, and gave them to his disciples for them to serve out to the people, and he divided the two fish also among them all.
42 Nanganda amin aginggana a napnekda.
Everyone had sufficient to eat;
43 Inurnongda dagiti napirsapirsay a tinapay, ket napunno iti sangapulo ket dua a basket, kasta met dagiti nabati a pidaso iti lames.
and they picked up enough broken pieces to fill twelve baskets, as well as some of the fish.
44 Ket adda iti lima ribu a lallaki a nangan kadagiti tinapay.
The people who ate the bread were five thousand in number.
45 Pinasakayna a dagus dagiti adalanna iti bangka ket pinaunana isuda a mapan idiay ballasiw, idiay Betsaida, kabayatan nga ibabaonna dagiti adu a tattao a pumanaw.
Immediately afterward Jesus made his disciples get into the boat, and cross over in advance, in the direction of Bethsaida, while he himself was dismissing the crowd.
46 Idi nakapanawdan, simmang-at isuna idiay bantay nga agkararag.
After he had taken leave of the people, he went away up the hill to pray.
47 Simmangbay ti rabii, ket adda idi ti bangka iti tengnga ti dan-aw, ket agmaymaysa isuna iti daga.
When evening fell, the boat was out in the middle of the sea, and Jesus on the shore alone.
48 Ket nakitana a marigatanda nga aggaud, gapu ta ti angin ket sumabsabat kadakuada. Iti agarup maika-uppat a panagbantay iti rabii, napan isuna kadakuada, magmagna isuna iti rabaw ti dan-aw, ket kayatna a labsan ida.
Seeing them laboring at the oars – for the wind was against them – about three hours after midnight Jesus came towards them, walking on the water, intending to join them.
49 Ngem idi nakitada isuna a magmagna iti rabaw ti dan-aw, impagarupda nga isuna ket al-alia ket nagiikkisda,
But, when they saw him walking on the water, they thought it was a ghost, and cried out;
50 gapu ta nakitada isuna, ket kasta unay iti butengda. Ket nagsao isuna a dagus kadakuada a kinunana, “Tumuredkayo! Siak daytoy! Saankayo nga agbuteng.”
for all of them saw him, and were terrified. But Jesus at once spoke to them. “Courage!” he said, “it is I; do not be afraid!”
51 Naglugan isuna iti bangka a kaduana isuda, ket nagsardeng ti panagpayugpog ti angin; ket kasta unay a sidaawda.
Then he got into the boat with them, and the wind dropped. The disciples were utterly amazed,
52 Ta saanda a naawatan ti maipanggep kadagiti tinapay, ngem ketdi, nabuntog dagiti panunotda a makaawat.
for they had not understood about the loaves, their minds being slow to learn.
53 Idi nakaballasiwdan, simmangladda idiay Genesaret ket in-angklada ti bangka.
When they had crossed over, they landed at Gennesaret, and moored the boat.
54 Idi dimsaagda iti bangka, dagus a nabigbig dagiti tattao nga isu ni Jesus.
But they had no sooner left her than the people, recognizing Jesus,
55 Ket nagtatarayda iti entero a rehion ken inrugida nga iyeg kenkuana dagiti masaksakit a nakaidda kadagiti pagiddaan, iti sadinoman a lugar a mangngegda a papananna.
hurried over the whole countryside, and began to carry about on mats those who were ill, wherever they heard he was.
56 Uray sadinoman a sumrekanna a barbario, wenno siudad, wenno il-ili, ikabilda dagiti masaksakit kadagiti pagtagilakuan a luglugar, ket nagpakpakaasida kenkuana nga uray sagidenda laeng ti murdong ti badona, ket no kasano kaadu ti nangsagid kenkuana, kasta met la kaadu dagiti napaimbag.
So wherever he went – to villages, or towns, or farms – they would lay their sick in the market-places, begging him to let them touch only the tassel of his cloak; and all who touched were made well.
