< Uk-ukom 8 >
1 Kinuna dagiti tattao ti Efraim kenni Gideon, “Ania daytoy nga inaramidmo kadakami? Saannakami nga inayaban idi napanka nakigubat iti Midian.” Ket nakisinnuppiatda kenkuana iti kasta unay.
And the men of Ephraim say to him, “What [is] this thing you have done to us—not to call for us when you went to fight with Midian?” And they strive with him severely;
2 Kinunana kadakuada, “Ania ita ti inaramidko a maiyasping kadakayo? Saan aya a nasaysayaat dagiti matudtud nga ubas ti Efraim ngem ti sibubukel nga apit iti ubas ni Abie-zer?
and he says to them, “What have I now done like you? Are the gleanings of Ephraim not better than the harvest of Abi-Ezer?
3 Pinagballiginakayo ti Dios kadagiti prinsipe ti Midian- da Oreb ken Zeeb! Ania ti naaramidko a maiyasping kadakayo?” Bimmaaw ti ungetda kenkuana idi imbagana daytoy.
God has given the heads of Midian, Oreb and Zeeb, into your hand; and what have I been able to do like you?” Then their temper desisted from off him in his speaking this thing.
4 Dimteng ni Gideon idiay Jordan ket bimmallasiw iti daytoy, isuna ken dagiti tallo gasut a lallaki a kaduana. Nabannogdan, ngem intultuloyda latta ti panagkamatda.
And Gideon comes to the Jordan, passing over, he and the three hundred men who [are] with him—wearied, yet pursuing—
5 Kinunana kadagiti lallaki ti Succot, “Pangngaasiyo ta ikkanyo ti tinapay dagiti tattao a sumursurot kaniak, gapu ta nabannogdan, ket kamkamatek da Zeba ken Salmunna, dagiti ari ti Midian.”
and he says to the men of Succoth, “Please give cakes of bread to the people who [are] at my feet, for they [are] wearied, and I am pursuing after Zebah and Zalmunna, kings of Midian.”
6 Kinuna dagiti mangidadaulo iti Succot, “Naparmekmo kadin da Zeba ken Salmunna? Saanmi nga ammo no apay a rumbeng nga ikkanmi iti tinapay ti armadam.”
And the heads of Succoth say, “Is the hand of Zebah and Zalmunna now in your hand, that we give bread to your host?”
7 Kinuna ni Gideon, “Inton pagballigiennakami ni Yahweh kada Zeba ken Salmunna, pirsapirsayekto ti lasagyo babaen kadagiti sisiit iti let-ang ken kadagiti sisiitan a mula.”
And Gideon says, “Therefore—in YHWH’s giving Zebah and Zalmunna into my hand—I have threshed your flesh with the thorns of the wilderness, and with the threshing instruments.”
8 Simmang-at isuna idiay Penuel manipud sadiay ket nakisarita kadagiti tattao sadiay iti isu met laeng a wagas, ngem sinungbatan isuna dagiti lallaki idiay Penuel iti kas met laeng iti insungbat dagiti lallaki idiay Succot.
And he goes up there [to] Penuel, and speaks to them thus; and the men of Penuel answer him as the men of Succoth answered.
9 Nagsao met isuna kadagiti lallaki ti Penuel ket kinunana, “Inton agsubliak manen a sikakappia, rebbaekto daytoy a torre.”
And he also speaks to the men of Penuel, saying, “In my turning back in peace, I break down this tower.”
10 Ita, adda da Zeba ken Salmunna idiay Carcor, agraman ti armadada, agarup 15, 000 a lallaki, dagiti amin a nabati iti entero nga armada dagiti tattao iti daya. Gapu ta napasag ti 120, 000 a lallaki a nasanay a makigubat babaen iti kampilan.
And Zebah and Zalmunna [are] in Karkor, and their camps with them, about fifteen thousand, all who are left of all the camp of the sons of the east; and those falling [are] one hundred and twenty thousand men, drawing sword.
11 Simmang-at ni Gideon iti kampo ti kabusor a nagna iti dalan ti Nomad, a limmabas idiay Noba ken Jogbea. Pinarmekna ti armada ti kabusor, gapu ta saanda a namnamaen ti panangraut.
And Gideon goes up the way of those who dwell in tents, on the east of Nobah and Jogbehah, and strikes the camp, and the camp was confident;
12 Nagtaray da Zeba ken Salmunna, ket kabayatan a kamkamaten ida ni Gideon, natiliwna dagiti dua nga ari ti Midian- da Zeba ken Salmunna- ken riniribukna ti amin nga armadada.
and Zebab and Zalmunna flee, and he pursues after them, and captures the two kings of Midian, Zebah and Zalmunna, and he has caused all the camp to tremble.
13 Nagsubli ni Gideon a putot a lalaki ni Joas manipud iti paggugubatan a nagna iti bessang ti Heres.
And Gideon son of Joash turns back from the battle, at the going up of the sun,
14 Nakasabat isuna iti maysa nga agtutubo a lalaki kadagiti tattao ti Succot ket nagdamag isuna kenkuana. Inladawan ti agtutubo a lalaki kenkuana dagiti mangidadaulo iti Succot ken dagiti panglakayen daytoy, pitopulo ket pito a lallaki.
and captures a young man of the men of Succoth, and asks him, and he describes to him the heads of Succoth, and its elderly—seventy-seven men.
15 Napan ni Gideon kadagiti lallaki ti Succot ket kinunana, “Kitaenyo da Zeba ken Salmunna, a nanglaisanyo kaniak a kinunayo, ‘Naparmekmo kadin da Zeba ken Salmunna? Saanmi nga ammo no apay a rumbeng nga ikkanmi iti tinapay ti armadam.”'
And he comes to the men of Succoth and says, “Behold Zebah and Zalmunna, with whom you reproached me, saying, Is the hand of Zebah and Zalmunna now in your hand that we give bread to your men who [are] wearied?”
16 Innala ni Gideon dagiti panglakayen ti siudad, ket dinusana dagiti lallaki ti Succot babaen kadagiti sisiit ti let-ang ken nasiit a mulmula.
And he takes the elderly of the city, and [the] thorns of the wilderness, and the threshing instruments, and teaches the men of Succoth by them,
17 Ket rinebbana ti torre ti Penuel ken pinatayna dagiti lallaki iti dayta a siudad.
and he has broken down the Tower of Penuel, and slays the men of the city.
18 Kinuna ni Gideon kada Zeba ken Salmunna, “Ania ti langa dagiti tattao a pinatayyo idiay Tabor?” Insungbatda, “No kasano ti langam, kasta met kadakuada. Aglanglanga ti tunggal maysa kadakuada a kasla anak iti maysa nga ari.”
And he says to Zebah and to Zalmunna, “What manner of men [were they] whom you slew in Tabor?” And they say, “As you—so they, [each] one as the form of the king’s sons.”
19 Kinuna ni Gideon, “Kakabsatko ida, dagiti annak a lallaki ti inak. Iti nagan ni Yahweh nga adda iti agnanayon, no pinagtalinaedyo koma ida a sibibiag, saankayo koma a patayen.”
And he says, “They [were] my brothers—sons of my mother; YHWH lives, if you had kept them alive—I would not kill you.”
20 Kinunana kenni Jeter (ti inauna nga anakna), “Tumakderka ket patayem ida!” Ngem saan nga inasut ti agtutubo a lalaki ti kampilanna ta mabuteng isuna, gapu ta ubing pay laeng isuna.
And he says to his firstborn Jether, “Rise, slay them”; and the young man has not drawn his sword, for he has been afraid, for he [is] yet a youth.
21 Ket kinuna da Zeba ken Salmunna, “Tumakderka ket patayennakami! Ta kas iti kinalalaki, kasta met ti pigsana.” Timmakder ni Gideon ket pinatayna da Zeba ken Salmunna. Innalana pay dagiti ar-arkos a sinan-bulan nga adda kadagiti tengnged dagiti kamelioda.
And Zebah and Zalmunna say, “Rise and fall on us; for as the man—his might”; and Gideon rises, and slays Zebah and Zalmunna, and takes the crescents which [are] on the necks of their camels.
22 Kalpasanna, kinuna dagiti lallaki ti Israel kenni Gideon, “Iturayannakami- sika, ti putotmo a lalaki ken ti appokom a lalaki- gapu ta insalakannakami iti pannakabalin ti Midian.
And the men of Israel say to Gideon, “Rule over us, both you, and your son, and your son’s son, for you have saved us from the hand of Midian.”
23 Kinuna ni Gideon kadakuada, “Saan a siak ti mangituray kadakayo, wenno ti anakko a lalaki ti mangituray kadakayo. Ni Yahweh ti mangituray kadakayo.”
And Gideon says to them, “I do not rule over you, nor does my son rule over you; YHWH rules over you.”
24 Kinuna ni Gideon kadakuada, “Adda koma kiddawek kadakayo: nga ited koma kaniak ti tunggal maysa kadakayo dagiti aritos manipud iti sinamsamna.” (Addaan dagiti Midianita kadagiti balitok nga aritos gapu ta Ismaelitada.)
And Gideon says to them, “Let me ask a petition of you, and each give to me the ring of his prey, for they have rings of gold, for they [are] Ishmaelites.”
25 Insungbatda, “Siraragsakkami a mangited kadagitoy kenka.” Nangiyaplagda iti kagay ket impuruak ti tunggal lalaki iti daytoy dagiti aritos manipud iti sinamsamna.
And they say, “We certainly give”; and they spread out the garment, and each casts the ring of his prey there;
26 1, 700 a siklo iti balitok ti kadagsen dagiti balitok nga aritos a kiniddawna. Mainayon daytoy a sinamsam kadagiti sinan-bulan nga ar-arkos, kadagiti bitin-bitin, kadagiti maris-ube a pagan-anay nga ingkawes dagiti ari ti Midian, ken mainayon kadagiti kawar a naipalikmut kadagiti tengnged dagiti kamelioda.
and the weight of the rings of gold which he asked for is one thousand and seven hundred [shekels] of gold, apart from the crescents, and the pendants, and the purple garments, which [are] on the kings of Midian, and apart from the chains which [are] on the necks of their camels,
27 Nangaramid ni Gideon iti efod manipud kadagiti aritos ket ingkabilna daytoy iti siudadna, idiay Ofra, ket nagbalangkantis dagiti amin nga Israel babaen iti panagdaydayawda iti daytoy sadiay. Nagbalin daytoy a palab-og para kenni Gideon ken kadagiti adda iti balayna.
and Gideon makes it into an ephod, and sets it up in his city, in Ophrah, and all Israel go whoring after it there, and it is for a snare to Gideon and to his house.
28 Naparmek ngarud ti Midian iti sangoanan dagiti tattao ti Israel ket saandan nga inngato manen dagiti uloda. Ket adda ti kappia iti daga iti las-ud iti uppat a pulo a tawen kadagiti al-aldaw ni Gideon.
And Midian is humbled before the sons of Israel, and have not added to lift up their head; and the land rests [for] forty years in the days of Gideon.
29 Nagsubli ni Jerubbaal a putot ni Joas ket nagnaed iti bukodna a balay.
And Jerubba‘al son of Joash goes and dwells in his own house,
30 Pitopulo a lallaki ti putot ni Gideon, gapu ta adu ti assawana.
and there have been seventy sons of Gideon, coming out of his loin, for he had many wives;
31 Nangipasngay met kenkuana iti lalaki ti kabkabbalayenna nga adda idi idiay Sikem, ket pinanaganan ni Gideon isuna iti Abimelec.
and his concubine, who [is] in Shechem, has borne to him—even she—a son, and he appoints his name Abimelech.
32 Natay ni Gideon a putot a lalaki ni Joas idi lakay unayen isuna ket naitabon iti ayan ti tanem ni Joas nga amana, idiay Ofra iti puli ti Abie-zer.
And Gideon son of Joash dies, in a good old age, and is buried in the burying-place of his father Joash, in Ophrah of the Abi-Ezrite.
33 Ket napasamak, apaman a natay ni Gideon, timmallikud manen dagiti tattao ti Israel ket nagbalangkantisda babaen iti panagdaydayawda kadagiti Baal. Pinagbalinda ni Baal-berit a diosda.
And it comes to pass, when Gideon [is] dead, that the sons of Israel turn back and go whoring after the Ba‘alim, and set Ba‘al-Berith over them for a god;
34 Saan a nalagip dagiti tattao ti Israel a dayawen ni Yahweh a Diosda a nangispal kadakuada manipud iti pannakabalin dagiti amin a kabusorda iti aglawlawda.
and the sons of Israel have not remembered their God YHWH, who is delivering them out of the hand of all their surrounding enemies,
35 Saanda a tinungpal dagiti karida iti balay ni Jerubbaal (ti sabali pay a nagan ni Gideon) a kas subad iti amin a kinasayaat nga inaramidna iti Israel.
neither have they done kindness with the house of Jerubba‘al—Gideon—according to all the good which he did with Israel.
