< Juan 12 >
1 Innem nga aldaw sakbay iti Ilalabas, immay ni Jesus idiay Betania, nga ayan ni Lazaro a pinagungarna manipud iti patay.
Jesus, however, six days before the Passover, came to Bethany, where Lazarus was whom He had raised from the dead.
2 Insaganaanda ngarud isuna iti pangrabian idiay, ket ni Marta ti nagdasdasar, kabayatan a ni Lazaro ket maysa kadagiti agtugtugaw iti lamisaan a kadua ni Jesus.
So they gave a dinner there in honour of Jesus, at which Martha waited at table, but Lazarus was one of the guests who were with Him.
3 Ket nangala ni Maria iti libra ti bangbanglo a naaramid iti pasig a nardo, napateg launay, binukbukanna dagiti saka ni Jesus iti daytoy, ket pinunasanna dagiti saka ni Jesus babaen iti buokna; ti balay ket napno iti ayamuom ti bangbanglo.
Availing herself of the opportunity, Mary took a pound weight of pure spikenard, very costly, and poured it over His feet, and wiped His feet with her hair, so that the house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume.
4 Ni Judas Escariote, maysa kadagiti adalanna, ti mangliputto ken ni Jesus, kinunana,
Then said Judas (the Iscariot, one of the Twelve--the one who afterwards betrayed Jesus),
5 “Apay a saan a nailako daytoy a bangbanglo iti tallo a gasut a denario ket maited kadagiti nakurapay?”
"Why was not that perfume sold for 300 shillings and the money given to the poor?"
6 Ita kinunana daytoy, saan a gapu ta kailalaanna dagiti nakurapay, ngem gapu ta isuna ket agtatakaw: isuna ti agig-iggem iti pagkargaan iti kuarta ken mangala isuna iti dadduma nga adda iti dayta para iti bagina.
The reason he said this was not that he cared for the poor, but that he was a thief, and that being in charge of the money-box, he used to steal what was put into it.
7 Kinuna ni Jesus, “Bay-anyo isuna a mangidulin iti aniaman nga adda kenkuana para iti kaaldawan ti pannakaitabonko.
But Jesus interposed. "Do not blame her," He said, "allow her to have kept it for the time of my preparation for burial.
8 Dagiti nakurapay ket kanayon nga addada kadakayo; ngem saanto a kanayon ti kaaddak kadakayo.”
For the poor you always have with you, but you have not me always."
9 Ita naammmoan dagiti adu a Judio nga adda ni Jesus idiay, ket immayda, saan laeng a maigapu ken ni Jesus, ngem tapno makitada met ni Lazaro a pinagungar ni Jesus manipud iti patay.
Now it became widely known among the Jews that Jesus was there; but they came not only on His account, but also in order to see Lazarus whom He had brought back to life.
10 Nagtutulag dagiti panguloen a papadi tapno patayenda met ni Lazaro;
The High Priests, however, consulted together to put Lazarus also to death,
11 ta gapu kenkuana ket adu kadagiti Judio ti pimmanaw ken namati ken ni Jesus.
for because of him many of the Jews left them and became believers in Jesus.
12 Iti simmaruno nga aldaw, adu a tattao ti immay iti fiesta. Idi nangngegda nga um-umay ni Jesus idiay Jerusalem,
The next day a great crowd of those who had come to the Festival, hearing that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem,
13 nangalada kadagiti sangsanga dagiti kayo a palma ket sinabatda isuna ken impukawda, “Hosana! Nagasat ti isu nga umay iti nagan ti Apo, ti ari ti Israel.”
took branches of the palm trees and went out to meet Him, shouting as they went, "God save him! Blessings on him who comes in the name of the Lord--even on the King of Israel!"
14 Nasarakan ni Jesus ti maysa nga urbon nga asno ket nagtugaw iti daytoy; a kas naisurat,
And Jesus, having procured a young ass, sat upon it, just as the Scripture says,
15 “Saanka nga agbuteng, babai nga anak ti Zion; kitaem, um-umay ti arim, nakatugaw iti urbon ti asno.”
"Fear not, Daughter of Zion! See, thy King is coming riding on an ass's colt."
16 Dagiti adalan ket saanda a maawatan dagitoy a banbanag idi damo; ngem idi maitagtag-ay ni Jesus, nalagipda a dagitoy a banbanag ket naisurat maipanggep kenkuana ken naaramidda dagitoy a banbanag kenkuana.
The meaning of this His disciples did not understand at the time; but after Jesus was glorified they recollected that this was written about Him, and that they had done this to Him.
17 Ita dagiti adu a tattao a kadua ni Jesus idi inayabanna ni Lazaro manipud iti tanem ken pinagungarna isuna manipud iti patay, nagsaksi kadagiti dadduma.
The large number of people, however, who had been present when He called Lazarus out of the tomb and brought him back to life, related what they had witnessed.
18 Daytoy met laeng ti makagapu a rimuar dagiti tattao kenkuana gapu ta nangngegda nga inaramidna dagitoy a pagilasinan.
This was also why the crowd came to meet Him, because they had heard of His having performed that miracle.
19 Kinuna ngarud dagiti Pariseo iti bagbagida, “Kitaenyo, awan maaramidanyo; kitaenyo, simmurot ti lubong kenkuana.”
The result was that the Pharisees said among themselves, "Observe how idle all your efforts are! The world is gone after him!"
20 Ita adda dagiti Griego a kaddua dagiti napan nga agdayaw iti fiesta.
Now some of those who used to come up to worship at the Festival were Greeks.
21 Napan dagitoy ken ni Felipe, a nagtaud idiay Betsaida iti Galilea, ket dinamagda kenkuana, kinunada, “Apo, kayatmi a makita ni Jesus.”
They came to Philip, of Bethsaida in Galilee, with the request, "Sir, we wish to see Jesus."
22 Napan ni Felipe iti ayan ni Andres; nakikuyog ni Andres ken ni Felipe ket imbagada ken ni Jesus.
Philip came and told Andrew: Andrew and Philip told Jesus.
23 Simmungbat ni Jesus kadakuada ket kinunana, “Immayen ti oras tapno mapadayawan ti Anak Ti Tao.
His answer was, "The time has come for the Son of Man to be glorified.
24 Pudno, pudno, ibagak kadakayo, inggana a saan a maregreg ti bukel ti trigo iti daga ken matay, agtalinaed nga agmaymaysa; ngem no matay, agbunganto iti adu.”
In most solemn truth I tell you that unless the grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains what it was--a single grain; but that if it dies, it yields a rich harvest.
25 Ti agayat iti biagna ket mapukawna; ngem ti gumura iti biagna iti daytoy a lubong ket salimetmetannanto para iti agnanayon a biag. (aiōnios )
He who holds his life dear, is destroying it; and he who makes his life of no account in this world shall keep it to the Life of the Ages. (aiōnios )
26 No adda man agserbi kaniak; bay-anyo a surotennak; ken sadino man ti ayanko, addanto met sadiay ti adipenko. No adda man agserbi kaniak, padayawanto ti Ama isuna.
If a man wishes to be my servant, let him follow me; and where I am, there too shall my servant be. If a man wishes to be my servant, the Father will honour him.
27 Mariribukan ti kararuak ita: ania ti rumbeng nga ibagak? 'Ama, isalakannak manipud iti daytoy nga oras'? Ngem para iti daytoy a rason immayak iti daytoy nga oras.
Now is my soul full of trouble; and what shall I say? Father, save me from this hour. But for this purpose I have come to this hour.
28 Ama, padayawam ti naganmo.” Ket immay ti timek a nagtaud iti langit ket kinunana, “Pinadayawakon ket padayawak manen.”
Father, glorify Thy name." Thereupon there came a voice from the sky, "I have glorified it and will also glorify it again."
29 Ket dagiti adu a tattao a nakatakder ken nakangngeg iti daytoy ket kunada a nagguruod. Kinuna dagiti dadduma, “Adda anghel a nagsao kenkuana.”
The crowd that stood by and heard it, said that there had been thunder. Others said, "An angel spoke to him."
30 Simmungbat ni Jesus ket kinunana, “Saan nga immay ti timek a maigapu kaniak, ngem maigapu kadakayo.
"It is not for my sake," said Jesus, "that that voice came, but for your sakes.
31 Itan ti pannakaukom daytoy a lubong: Ita ti prinsipe daytoy a lubong ket mapapanaw.
Now is a judgement of this world: now will the Prince of this world be driven out.
32 Ket siak, no maipangatoak manipud iti daga, iasidegkonto dagiti amin a tattao kaniak.”
And I-- if I am lifted up from the earth--will draw all men to me."
33 Imbagana daytoy tapno ipakaawatna no ania a wagas ti ipapatayna.
He said this to indicate the kind of death He would die.
34 Simmungbat dagiti adu a tattao kenkuana, “Nangngegmi manipud iti linteg a ti Cristo ket agtalinaed iti agnanayon. Kasano a maibagam a, 'Ti Anak ti Tao ket maipangato'? Siasino daytoy nga Anak ti Tao?” (aiōn )
The crowd answered Him, "We have heard out of the Law that the Christ remains for ever. In what sense do you say that the Son of Man must be lifted up? Who is that Son of Man?" (aiōn )
35 Kinuna ni Jesus kadakuada, “Iti saan nga agbayag ti lawag ket adda pay kadakayo. Magnakayo kabayatan nga adda kadakayo ti lawag, tapno saannakayo a makamakam ti kinasipnget. Ti magna iti kinasipnget ket saanna nga ammo ti papananna.
"Yet a little while," He replied, "the light is among you. Be faithful to the light that you have, for fear darkness should overtake you; for a man who walks in the dark does not know where he is going.
36 Kabayatan nga adda kadakayo ti lawag, mamatikayo iti lawag tapno agbalinkayo nga annak ti lawag.” Imbaga ni Jesus dagitoy a banbanag ket pimmanaw ken inlemmenganna ida/naglemmeng manipud kadakuada.
In the degree that you have light, believe in the Light, so that you may become sons of Light." Jesus said this, and went away and hid Himself from them.
37 Uray pay no adu dagiti pagilasinan nga inaramid ni Jesus iti sangoananda, saanda latta a namati kenkuana
But though He had performed such great miracles in their presence, they did not believe in Him--
38 tapno matungpal ti insurat ni Isaias a propeta a kinunana: “Apo, siasino ti namati kadagiti padamagmi? Ken siasino ti nakaipakitaan iti takkiag ti Apo?”
in order that the words of Isaiah the Prophet might be fulfilled, "Lord, who has believed our preaching? And the arm of the Lord--to whom has it been unveiled?"
39 Iti daytoy a makagapu ket saanda a namati, ta kinuna manen ni Isaias,
For this reason they were unable to believe--because Isaiah said again,
40 “Binulsekna dagiti matada, ken pinatangkenna dagiti puspusoda; ta no saan ket makitada kadagiti matada ken maawatanda kadagiti puspusoda, ket agsublida, ket paimbagek isuda.”
"He has blinded their eyes and made their minds callous, lest they should see with their eyes and perceive with their minds, and should turn, and I should heal them."
41 Imbaga ni Isaias dagitoy a bambanag gapu ta nakitana ti dayag ni Jesus ken nagsarita iti maipapan kenkuana.
Isaiah uttered these words because he saw His glory; and he spoke of Him.
42 Nupay kasta, uray adu dagiti turay ti namati ken ni Jesus; ngem gapu kadagiti Pariseo, saanda nga inaklon daytoy tapno saannda a maparitan iti sinagoga.
Nevertheless even from among the Rulers many believed in Him. But because of the Pharisees they did not avow their belief, for fear they should be shut out from the synagogue.
43 Ad-adda a pagaayatda dagiti pammadayaw nga agtaud kadagiti tattao ngem ti pammadayaw nga agtaud iti Dios.
For they loved the glory that comes from men rather than the glory that comes from God.
44 Nagpukkaw ni Jesus ket kinunana, “Ti mamati kaniak, saan laeng a siak ti pinatina ngem mamati met kenkuana a nangibaon kaniak,
But Jesus cried aloud, "He who believes in me, believes not so much in me, as in Him who sent me;
45 ken ti makakitkita kaniak, makitkitana met isuna a nangibaon kaniak.”
and he who sees me sees Him who sent me.
46 Immayak a kas lawag iti lubong tapno siasinoman a mamati kaniak ket saan nga agtalinaed iti kinasipnget.
I have come like light into the world, in order that no one who believes in me may remain in the dark.
47 No adda dumngeg kadagiti sasaok ngem saanna a salimetmetan dagitoy, saanko nga ukomen isuna; ta saanak nga immay tapno mangukom iti lubong ngem tapno mangisalakan iti lubong.
And if any one hears my teachings and regards them not, I do not judge him; for I did not come to judge the world, but to save the world.
48 Ti manglaksid kaniak ken saan nga umawat kadagiti sasaok ket addaan iti mangukom kenkuana: ti sao nga insaok ket isu ti mangukom kenkuana iti maudi ng aldaw.
He who sets me at naught and does not receive my teachings is not left without a judge: the Message which I have spoken will judge him on the last day.
49 Ta saanak nga nagsao iti bukbukodko. Ngem ketdi, ti Ama a nangibaon kaniak, ti nangited kaniak iti bilin maipanggep iti masapul nga ibagak ken no ania ti masapul nga isaok.
Because I have not spoken on my own authority; but the Father who sent me, Himself gave me a command what to say and in what words to speak.
50 Ammok a ti bilinna ket biag nga agnanayon; tapno dagiti banag nga ibagak-kas iti imbaga ti Ama kaniak, ti ibagak met kadakuada.” (aiōnios )
And I know that His command is the Life of the Ages. What therefore I speak, I speak just as the Father has bidden me." (aiōnios )
