< Job 8 >

1 Kalpasanna, simmungbat ni Bildad a Suhita ket kinunana,
Then Bildad the Shuhite replied:
2 “Kasano pay kabayag nga ibagam dagitoy a banbanag? Kasano pay kabayag a dagiti sasao ti ngiwatmo ket agbalin a napigsa nga angin?
“How long will you go on saying such things? The words of your mouth are a blustering wind.
3 Ballikugen kadi ti Dios ti hustisia? Ballikugen kadi ti Mannakabalin amin ti kinalinteg?
Does God pervert justice? Does the Almighty pervert what is right?
4 Nagbasol dagiti annakmo kenkuana, ammomi daytoy, ta impaimana ida kadagiti basbasolda.
When your children sinned against Him, He gave them over to their rebellion.
5 Ngem kas pangarigan a sipapasnekka a nangbirok iti Dios ken indatagmo dagiti kiddawmo iti Mannakabalin amin.
But if you would earnestly seek God and ask the Almighty for mercy,
6 Kas pangarigan nasin-aw ken nalintegka; ket awan duadua nga agtignay isuna para kenka ken gun-gonaannaka iti pagtaengan a pudno a kukuam.
if you are pure and upright, even now He will rouse Himself on your behalf and restore your righteous estate.
7 Uray no bassit ti nagrugiam, nasaysayaatto latta ti maudi a kasasaadmo.
Though your beginnings were modest, your latter days will flourish.
8 Ta agpakpakaasiak kenka, nga agpalutpotka, maipanggep iti napalabas a panawen; usarem ti bagim a mangadal kadagiti naduktalan dagiti kapuonantayo.
Please inquire of past generations and consider the discoveries of their fathers.
9 (Naiyanaktayo laeng idi kalman ken awan iti ammotayo gapu ta anniniwan dagiti aldawtayo iti daga).
For we were born yesterday and know nothing; our days on earth are but a shadow.
10 Saandaka kadi nga isuro wenno ibaga kenka? Saanda kadi nga agsao manipud kadagiti pusoda?
Will they not teach you and tell you, and speak from their understanding?
11 Dumakkel kadi ti badobadok no awan ti lubnak? Dumakkel kadi ti runo no awan ti danum?
Does papyrus grow where there is no marsh? Do reeds flourish without water?
12 Kabayatan a nalangtoda pay ken saanda pay a napukan, malaylayda sakbay kadagiti sabali a mula.
While the shoots are still uncut, they dry up quicker than grass.
13 Kasta met laeng dagiti dalan dagiti amin a manglipat iti Dios, mapukawto ti namnama dagiti tattao nga awan ti diosna-
Such is the destiny of all who forget God; so the hope of the godless will perish.
14 dagiti addaan iti kinatalged a madadael, ken dagidiay kas karasi ti saput ti lawalawa ti talekna.
His confidence is fragile; his security is in a spider’s web.
15 Agsadag ti kasta a tao iti balayna, ngem saan a tumakder daytoy; kumpet isuna iti daytoy, ngem saan daytoy nga agpaut.
He leans on his web, but it gives way; he holds fast, but it does not endure.
16 Berde isuna iti sirok ti init, ket agtubo dagiti saringitna iti entero a minuyonganna.
He is a well-watered plant in the sunshine, spreading its shoots over the garden.
17 Balkuten dagiti ramutna dagiti gabsuon ti bato; agbirok dagitoy iti nasayaat a lugar kadagiti kabatbatoan.
His roots wrap around the rock heap; he looks for a home among the stones.
18 Ngem no madadael daytoy a tao iti lugarna, ket ilibakto dayta a lugar isuna ket kunana, 'Saanka a pulos a nakita.'
If he is uprooted from his place, it will disown him, saying, ‘I never saw you.’
19 Kitaem, daytoy ti “rag-o” ti kababalin iti kasta a tao; agtubo dagiti sabali a mula iti isu met laeng a daga iti lugarna.
Surely this is the joy of his way; yet others will spring from the dust.
20 Kitaem, saanto a papanawen ti Dios ti awan basolna a tao; wenno saanna nga alaen ti ima dagiti managdakdakes.
Behold, God does not reject the blameless, nor will He strengthen the hand of evildoers.
21 Ngem punnoennanto ti ngiwatmo iti katkatawa, dagiti bibigmo iti pukpukkaw.
He will yet fill your mouth with laughter, and your lips with a shout of joy.
22 Makawesanto iti pannakaibabain dagiti manggurgura kenka; awanton ti tolda dagiti nadangkes.”
Your enemies will be clothed in shame, and the tent of the wicked will be no more.”
