< Job 41 >
1 Kabaelam kadi a banniitan ti leviatan? Wenno galutan ti sungona?
Canst thou draw forth the crocodile with a hook, Or press down his tongue with a cord?
2 Kabaelam kadi a talian ti agongna, wenno duyoken ti pangalna babaen iti banniit?
Canst thou put a rope into his nose, Or pierce his cheek with a hook?
3 Agpakaasi kadi kenka daytoy? Makisao kadi kenka daytoy iti naalumamay?
Will he make many entreaties to thee? Will he speak soft words to thee?
4 Makitulag kadi daytoy kenka, nga alaem isuna nga agbalin nga adipenmo iti agnanayon?
Will he make a covenant with thee? Canst thou take him for a servant for ever?
5 Makiaay-ayamka kadi kenkuana a kas iti billit? Galutam kadi isuna para kadagiti adipenmo a babbai?
Canst thou play with him, as with a bird? Or canst thou bind him for thy maidens?
6 Makitinnawar kadi dagiti bunggoy ti mangngalap para kenkuana? Tadtadenda kadi isuna nga isukatda kadagiti aglaklako?
Do men in company lay snares for him? Do they divide him among the merchants?
7 Kabaelam kadi a punnoen ti kudilna iti gayang wenno ti ulona iti pangkalap a pika?
Canst thou fill his skirt with barbed irons, Or his head with fish-spears?
8 Sagidem isuna iti uray maminsan laeng, ket malaglagipmonto ti panakirangetna ket saanmonton nga uliten daytoy.
Do but lay thy hand upon him, —Thou wilt no more think of battle!
9 Kitaem, ti namnama ti siasinoman a mangar-aramid iti dayta ket ubbaw; saan kadi a matuang iti daga ti siasinoman uray no makitada laeng daytoy?
Behold, his hope is vain! Is he not cast down at the very sight of him?
10 Awan ti narungsot a makaitured a mangriribuk iti leviatan; siasino ngarud ti makaitured a tumakder iti sangoanak?
None is so fierce that he dare stir him up; Who then is he that can stand before me?
11 Siasino ti immun-una a nakaited iti aniaman a banag kaniak tapno agsubadak koma kenkuana? Aniaman nga adda iti sirok ti sibubukel a tangatang ket kukuak.
Who hath done me a favor, that I must repay him? Whatever is under the whole heaven is mine.
12 Saanak nga agulimek maipanggep kadagiti saka ti leviatan, wenno maipapan iti pigsana, wenno ti makaay-ayo a langana.
I will not be silent concerning his limbs, And his strength, and the beauty of his armor.
13 Siasino ti makaikkat iti akinruar nga akkub ti bagina? Siasino ti makasalpot iti doble a kabalna?
Who can uncover the surface of his garment? Who will approach his jaws?
14 Siasino ti makalukat iti ruangan ti rupana - a napalikmutan kadagiti ngipenna, a nakabutbuteng?
Who will open the doors of his face? The rows of his teeth are terrible!
15 Naaramid ti bukotna iti naintar a salaknib, nagdedekketda a kas iti nagdidinnekket a pangserra.
His glory is his strong shields, United with each other, as with a close seal.
16 Naidekket unay ti maysa iti sabali pay nga awan pulos ti angin a makastrek iti nagbabaetan dagitoy.
They are joined one to another, So that no air can come between them.
17 Nagdidinnekketda iti tunggal maysa; nagkikinnapetda, tapno saanda a mapagsisina.
They cleave fast to each other, They hold together, and cannot be separated.
18 Adda silnag a rummuar iti panagbang-esna; maiyarig dagiti matana iti panagsingising ti init iti parbangon.
His sneezing sendeth forth light, And his eyes are like the eyelashes of the morning.
19 Iti ngiwatna, rumuar ti kasla umap-apuy a pagsilawan, aglalagto a rummuar dagiti rissik ti apuy.
Out of his mouth go flames, And sparks of fire leap forth.
20 Kadagiti abut ti agongna, rumuar ti asuk a kas iti agburburek a danum iti banga a nakasaang iti apuy a kasta unay ti pudotna.
From his nostrils issueth smoke, as from a heated pot, or caldron.
21 Pasgedan ti angesna dagiti uging; apuy ti rumuar manipud iti ngiwatna.
His breath kindleth coals, And flames issue from his mouth.
22 Iti tengngedna ket kinapigsa, ket nakabutbuteng ti lumablabas iti sangoananna.
In his neck dwelleth strength, And terror danceth before him.
23 Nagdidinnekket dagiti paspaset ti lasagna; nakalaglagdada; saanda a makuti.
The flakes of his flesh cleave fast together; They are firm upon him, and cannot be moved.
24 Ti pusona ket kas katangken ti bato - pudno, katangtangken ti akinbaba a bato ti paggilingan.
His heart is solid like a stone; Yea, solid like the nether millstone.
25 No tumakder isuna, uray dagiti didiosen ket agbuteng; gapu iti buteng, agsanudda.
When he riseth up, the mighty are afraid; Yea, they lose themselves for terror.
26 No maiduyok ti kampilan kenkuana, awan mamaayna - ken uray ti gayang ken pana wenno uray ania a natirad nga armas.
The sword of him that assaileth him doth not stand, The spear, the dart, nor the habergeon.
27 Kasla laeng garami, ti landok kenkuana, ken ti bronse ket kasla laeng narukop a kayo.
He regardeth iron as straw, And brass as rotten wood.
28 Saan isuna a mapagtaray ti pana; para kenkuana, ti maipalsiit a bato ket kasla laeng taep.
The arrow cannot make him flee; Sling-stones to him become stubble;
29 Dagiti pang-or ket ibilbilangna a kas garami; katkatawaanna dagiti agtatayab a gayang nga agturong kenkuana.
Clubs are accounted by him as straw; He laugheth at the shaking of the spear.
30 Dagiti akinbaba a pasetna ket maiyarig kadagiti natatadem a paset ti nabuong a banga; mangibati isuna iti tugot iti kapitakan a kasla maysa isuna a dakkel nga arado.
Under him are sharp potsherds; He spreadeth out a thrashing-sledge upon the mire.
31 Pagburekenna ti nauneg a baybay a kas iti maysa a banga nga adda agburburek a danumna; pagbalinenna ti baybay a kasla banga ti sapsapo.
He maketh the deep to boil like a caldron; He maketh the sea like a pot of ointment.
32 Pagraniagenna ti pagnaanna; pagarupen ti makakita a nagbalin a puraw ti nauneg a baybay.
Behind him he leaveth a shining path; One would think the deep to be hoary.
33 Iti rabaw ti daga, awan ti umasping kenkuana, a nagbiag nga awan pagbutnganna.
Upon the earth there is not his master; He is made without fear.
34 Makitkitana amin a napalangguad; isuna ti ari kadagiti amin nga annak ti kinapalangguad.”
He looketh down upon all that is high; He is king over all the sons of pride.
