< Job 38 >

1 Kalpasanna, inawagan ni Yahweh ni Job manipud iti nadawel a bagio ket kinunana,
And the Lord made answer to Job out of the storm-wind, and said,
2 “Siasino daytoy a mangiiyeg iti kinasipnget kadagiti panggepko babaen kadagiti sasao nga awanan ti pannakaamo?
Who is this who makes the purpose of God dark by words without knowledge?
3 Ita, agbarikeska a kas maysa a lalaki ta agsaludsodak kenka, ket masapul a sungbatannak.
Get your strength together like a man of war; I will put questions to you, and you will give me the answers.
4 Sadino ti ayanmo idi inkabilko ti pundasion ti daga? Ibagam kaniak, no addaanka iti adu a pannakaawat.
Where were you when I put the earth on its base? Say, if you have knowledge.
5 Siasino ti nangikkeddeng iti rukodna? Ibagam kaniak, no ammom. Siasino ti nangiyunnat iti pangrukod iti rabawna?
By whom were its measures fixed? Say, if you have wisdom; or by whom was the line stretched out over it?
6 Ania ti nakaikabilan dagiti pundasionna? Siasino ti nangikabil iti bato a pasulina
On what were its pillars based, or who put down its angle-stone,
7 idi nagkanta dagiti bituen iti agsapa ken idi nagpukkaw gapu iti rag-o dagiti amin nga annak ti Dios?
When the morning stars made songs together, and all the sons of the gods gave cries of joy?
8 Siasino ti nangiserra kadagiti ruangan ti baybay idi nagpussuak daytoy, a kasla rimmuar daytoy iti aanakan—
Or where were you when the sea came to birth, pushing out from its secret place;
9 idi pinagbalinko dagiti ulep a kawesna, ken ti nakaro a sipnget a lampinna?
When I made the cloud its robe, and put thick clouds as bands round it,
10 Dayta ket idi sinennialak ti pagpatinggaak iti baybay, ken idi inkabilko dagiti balunet ken dagiti ridawna,
Ordering a fixed limit for it, with locks and doors;
11 ken idi imbagak iti daytoy, 'Aginggaka laeng ditoy ngem saankan a lumabes pay; ditoy ti pangikabilak iti pagpatinggaan dagiti napalangguad a dalluyonmo.'
And said, So far you may come, and no farther; and here the pride of your waves will be stopped?
12 Manipud nangrugi dagiti bukodmo nga aldaw, napadasmo kadin a binilin ti agsapa tapno mangrugin, ken ti bannawag ti agsapa tapno maammoanna ti lugar a pakaibilanganna kadagiti banbanag,
Have you, from your earliest days, given orders to the morning, or made the dawn conscious of its place;
13 tapno maiggamanna dagiti igid ti daga tapno mawagwag dagiti nadangkes a tattao a rummuar iti daytoy?
So that it might take a grip of the skirts of the earth, shaking all the evil-doers out of it?
14 Nagbaliw ti langa ti daga a kasla iti panagbaliw ti pitak iti sirok ti selio; amin a banbanag nga adda iti daytoy ket agbalin a nalawag a kasla kadagiti kupin ti maysa a pagan-anay.
It is changed like wet earth under a stamp, and is coloured like a robe;
15 Manipud kadagiti nadangkes a tattao ket naikkat ti lawagda, natukkol ti nakangato nga imada.
And from the evil-doers their light is kept back, and the arm of pride is broken.
16 Napanka kadin kadagiti pagtataudan ti danum iti baybay? Nagnaka kadin iti kaadaleman a paset ti baybay?
Have you come into the springs of the sea, walking in the secret places of the deep?
17 Naipakita kadin kenka dagiti ruangan ti patay? Nakitam kadin dagiti ruangan ti anniniwan ti patay?
Have the doors of death been open to you, or have the door-keepers of the dark ever seen you?
18 Naawatam kadin ti kinalawa ti daga? Ibagam kaniak no ammom amin dagitoy.
Have you taken note of the wide limits of the earth? Say, if you have knowledge of it all.
19 Sadino ti dalan nga agturong iti paginanaan ti lawag— maipapan iti kinasipnget, sadino ti lugarna?
Which is the way to the resting-place of the light, and where is the store-house of the dark;
20 Maidalanmo kadi ti lawag ken ti sipnget kadagiti lugar a pagtrabahoanda? Mabirukam kadi ti dalan nga agsubli kadagiti balbalayda para kadakuada?
So that you might take it to its limit, guiding it to its house?
21 Awan dua-dua nga ammom, gapu ta naiyanakka idin; adu unayen ti bilang dagiti aldawmo!
No doubt you have knowledge of it, for then you had come to birth, and the number of your days is great.
22 Nastrekmo kadin dagiti pagidulinan ti niebe wenno nakitam kadin dagiti pagidulinan ti uraro,
Have you come into the secret place of snow, or have you seen the store-houses of the ice-drops,
23 dagitoy a banbanag nga induldulinko para iti tiempo ti riribuk, para kadagiti aldaw ti ranget ken gubat?
Which I have kept for the time of trouble, for the day of war and fighting?
24 Ania ti dalan a pakawarasan ti kimat wenno sadino ti nakaipul-oyan ti angin a manipud iti daya iti rabaw ti daga?
Which is the way to the place where the wind is measured out, and the east wind sent out over the earth?
25 Siasino ti nangaramid kadagiti pagayusan dagiti layus ti tudo wenno siasino ti nangaramid kadagiti pagnaan ti kanabruong ti gurruod,
By whom has the way been cut for the flowing of the rain, and the flaming of the thunder;
26 a mangpatudo kadagiti daga nga awan matagtagitaona, ken iti let-ang, nga awan ti uray maysa nga agbibiag,
Causing rain to come on a land where no man is living, on the waste land which has no people;
27 tapno masabet dagiti kasapulan ti natikag ken nabay-bay-an a paset ti daga, ken tapno maparusing dagiti naganus a ruot?
To give water to the land where there is waste and destruction, and to make the dry land green with young grass?
28 Adda kadi ama ti tudo? Siasino ti nangpataud kadagiti tedted ti linnaaw?
Has the rain a father? or who gave birth to the drops of night mist?
29 Siasino ti akin aanakan ti nagtaudan ti yelo? Asino ti nangipasngay iti niebe manipud iti tangatang?
Out of whose body came the ice? and who gave birth to the cold mist of heaven?
30 Aglemmeng ti danum ket agbalin a kasla bato; timmangken ti rabaw ti adalem a danum.
The waters are joined together, hard as a stone, and the face of the deep is covered.
31 Mareppetmo kadi kadagiti kawar dagiti “Pleiades,” wenno mawarwarmo kadi dagiti galut ti “Orion”?
Are the bands of the Pleiades fixed by you, or are the cords of Orion made loose?
32 Maiturongmo kadi dagiti banbanag iti tangatang nga agparang iti umno a panawenda? Maidalanmo kadi dagiti oso ken dagiti annakna?
Do you make Mazzaroth come out in its right time, or are the Bear and its children guided by you?
33 Ammom kadi dagiti alagaden ti tangatang? Maisaadmo kadi ti linteg ti tangatang iti rabaw ti daga?
Have you knowledge of the laws of the heavens? did you give them rule over the earth?
34 Mapapigsaam kadi ti timekmo aggingga kadagiti ulep, tapno malapunosnaka ti bumayakabak a tudo?
Is your voice sent up to the cloud, so that you may be covered by the weight of waters?
35 Maparuarmo kadi dagiti kimat, nga ibagada kenka, 'Adtoy kami'?
Do you send out the thunder-flames, so that they may go, and say to you, Here we are?
36 Siasino ti nangikabil iti kinasirib kadagiti ulep wenno nangted iti pannakaawat iti angep?
Who has put wisdom in the high clouds, or given knowledge to the lights of the north?
37 Siasino ti makabilang kadagiti ulep babaen iti laingna? Siasino ti makaibuyat iti lalat a pagkargaan ti danum iti tangatang
By whose wisdom are the clouds numbered, or the water-skins of the heavens turned to the earth,
38 inton agtutukel dagiti tapok ken agdidikket dagiti bingkol?
When the earth becomes hard as metal, and is joined together in masses?
39 Makaanupka kadi iti ayup a para iti kabaian a leon wenno mabussogmo kadi dagiti urbonna
Do you go after food for the she-lion, or get meat so that the young lions may have enough,
40 inton kumkumlebda kadagiti rukibda ken aglemlemmengda iti kasamekan nga agur-uray?
When they are stretched out in their holes, and are waiting in the brushwood?
41 Siasino ti mangipapaay kadagiti ayup para kadagiti uwak no umasug dagiti annakda iti Dios ken agdiwerdiwerda gapu iti kinaawan ti taraonda?
Who gives in the evening the meat he is searching for, when his young ones are crying to God; when the young lions with loud noise go wandering after their food?
