< Job 34 >

1 Intuloy pay ni Elihu ti nagsao:
And Elihu commenced, and said,
2 “Dumngegkayo iti sasaok, dakayo a masisirib a lallaki; dumngegkayo kaniak dakayo nga addaan pannakaamo.
Hear, O ye wise men, my words; and ye that have knowledge, give ear unto me.
3 Ta mangngeg ti lapayag ti sasao a kas iti dila a ramananna ti taraon.
For the ear proveth words, as the palate tasteth the food.
4 Pilientayo ti nalinteg para iti bagitayo: sukimatentayo ti pagsayaatan ti bagbagitayo.
Let us choose for ourselves what is just: let us acknowledge between ourselves what is good.
5 Ta kinuna ti Job, 'Nalintegak, ngem inikkat ti Dios ti kalintegak.
For Job hath said, “I am righteous; and God hath taken away justice from me.
6 Malaksid kadagiti kalintegak, naibilangak nga ulbod. Saan a maagasan ti sugatko, uray awan basolko.'
Should I lie concerning the justice due me? incurable is [my wound from] the arrow I bear in me without any transgression.”
7 Ania a kita ti tao ti kasla kenni Job a nanginom iti pannakalais a kasla danum,
What man is there like Job, who drinketh scorning like water,
8 a makikadkadua kadagiti agar-aramid iti dakes, ken makikuykuyog kadagiti nadangkes a tattao?
And is on the road to keep company with the wrong-doers, and to walk with men of wickedness?
9 Ta kinunana, 'Awan ti serbina iti maysa a tao iti panagar-aramid iti pagayatan ti Dios.'
For he hath said, “It profiteth a man nothing when he acteth according to the pleasure of God.”
10 Isu a dumngegkayo kaniak, dakayo a tattao a makaawat: adayo nga agaramid ti Dios iti kinadangkes; adayo nga agaramid ti Mannakabalin amin iti basol.
Therefore ye men of sense hearken unto me: far is it from God to practise wickedness; and from the Almighty to do wrong!
11 Ta baybayadanna ti trabaho ti maysa a tao; gungunnaanna ti tunggal tao a kas maiyannurot kadagiti bukodna a wagas.
For the work of a son of earth doth he recompense unto him, and according to the path of man doth he permit things to occur to him.
12 Pudno, awan ti ar-aramiden ti Dios a kinadangkes, wenno saan a balballikugen ti Mannakabalin amin ti hustisia.
Yea, surely God will not condemn unjustly, nor will the Almighty pervert justice.
13 Siasino ti nangisaad kenkuana nga agturay iti daga? Siasino ti nangikabil iti lubong iti turayna?
Who hath given him a charge concerning the earth? or who hath intrusted [him] the whole world?
14 No ti amin a panpanunotenna ket para laeng kenkuana, ken no ibabawina ti espirituna ken angesna,
If he were to set his heart upon man, he would gather unto himself his spirit and his breath:
15 ket mapukaw amin a lasag; agsubli manen ti sangkataoan iti tapok.
All flesh would perish together, and the son of earth would return again unto dust.
16 No ita ket addaanka ti pannakaawat, denggem daytoy; alingagem dagiti sasaok.
If then thou wishest to understand, hear this: give ear to the sound of my words.
17 Makaituray kadi ti maysa a tao a gumugura iti hustisia? Pabasulem kadi ti Dios a nalinteg ken nabileg?
Is it possible that he who hateth justice should govern? or wilt thou condemn the righteous mighty One?
18 Ti Dios a nangibaga iti maysa nga ari, 'Managbasolka,' wenno mangibaga kadagiti natakneng, 'Nadangkeskayo'?
[Is it fit] to say to a king, Thou art worthless? and to princes, Ye are wicked?
19 Ti Dios a saan a mangidumduma kadagiti papangulo ken saanna a bigbigen a nangatngato dagiti nababaknang a tattao ngem kadagiti nakurapay, ta inaramid ida amin ti imana.
Whereas he is one that showeth no favor to chieftains, and distinguisheth not the rich before the indigent; for all of them are the work of his hands.
20 Mataydanto iti apagdarikmat; masinganto dagiti tattao iti tengnga iti rabii ket mataydanto; maikkatto dagiti nabibileg a tattao, ngem saan a babaen kadagiti ima iti tao.
In a moment will they die, and in the midst of the night; people are moved, and pass away: and the mighty will be removed without a human hand.
21 Ta dagiti mata ti Dios ket adda kadagiti wagas ti maysa a tao; makitkitana amin nga addangna.
For big eyes are upon the ways of man, and all his steps doth he see.
22 Awan ti kinasipnget, awan ti nasipnget a mabalin a paglemmengan dagiti agar-aramid iti dakes.
There is no darkness, nor shadow of death, where the evil-doers can hide themselves.
23 Ta saanen a kasapulan a sukimaten pay ti Dios ti tao; saanen a kasapulan a a mapan ti siasinoman a tao iti sangoananna para iti pannakaukom.
For he need not direct [his attention] a long time upon man, that he should enter into judgment before God.
24 Pirsapirsayenna dagiti mabigbigbig a tattao gapu kadagiti aramidda a saanen a kasapulan pay iti nainget a panangsukimat; isublina dagiti dadduma kadagiti bukodda a lugar.
He breaketh down mighty men without [long] searching, and placeth others in their stead.
25 Iti daytoy a wagas, ammonan dagiti naaramidda; ibellengna dagitoy a tattao iti rabii, nadadaeldan.
For the reason that he knoweth their deeds: therefore he overturneth them in the night, and they are crushed.
26 Iti imatang dagiti dadduma a tattao, papatayenna ida gapu kadagiti nadangkes nga aramidda a kasla kadagiti kriminal
Among wicked men doth he strike them, in the place where [many] see them:
27 gapu ta simminada manipud kenkuana ken saanda a binigbig ti uray maysa kadagiti wagasna.
Because they have departed from following him, and have not considered all his ways.
28 Iti daytoy a wagas, naipangngegda kenkuana dagiti asug dagiti napanglaw a tattao, nangngegna dagiti asug dagiti marigrigatan a tattao.
Bringing before them the cry of the indigent, and the cry of the afflicted which he had to hear.
29 No agul-ulimek isuna, siasino ti makababalaw kenkuana? No ilingedna ti rupana, siasino ti makadlaw kenkuana? Iturturayanna ti entero a nasion ken dagiti tattao,
When he now granteth rest, who will condemn [him]! and when he hideth his face, who can behold him? whether it be against a nation, or against one man, it is the same:
30 tapno saan a makapagturay ti tao nga awan diosna, tapno awan iti makadangran kadagiti tattao.
That no hypocritical man may reign, that such shall not be a mare to the people.
31 Kaspangarigan adda ti agibaga iti Dios, 'Pudno a nagbasolak, ngem saanakon a pulos nga agaramid iti basol;
For truly it is only fitting to say unto God, “I bear [cheerfully], I will not do any wrong;
32 isurom kaniak dagiti saanko a makitkita; nagbasolak, ngem saankonton a pulos nga aramiden daytoy.'
What I cannot see myself, do thou truly teach me; if I have done what is unjust, I will do so no more.”
33 Ti panagkunam kadi ket dusaen ti Dios ti basol dayta a tao, agsipud ta saanmo a kayat ti ar-aramiden ti Dios? Masapul a sika ti agpili, saan a siak. Ibagam ngarud ti ammom.
Should he then according to thy view send a recompense, because thou hast rejected him? “Because thou must choose, and not I?” and what thou knowest, do speak.
34 Ibaganto kaniak dagiti tattao a mannakaawat—pudno, ibaganto ti tunggal masirib a makangkangngeg kaniak,
Men of sense will say unto me, and every wise man who heareth me,
35 'Agsasao ni Job iti awan kaes-eskanna; dagiti sasaona ket minamaag.
That Job hath not spoken with knowledge, and that his words are without intelligence.
36 No laeng koma ta maisaklang ni Job iti pangukoman ket maibaga amin dagiti kababassitan a banag iti kasasaadna gapu iti panagsasaona a kasla nadangkes a tattao.
Oh that Job may therefore be probed continually, in order to give answers against sinful men.
37 Ta naynayunanna ti basolna iti panagsukir; ipalpalakpakna dagiti imana a manglalais iti nagtetengngaantayo; agipenpenpen isuna kadagiti sasao a maibusor iti Dios.”
For he addeth unto his sin transgression: among us he uttereth too many loud words, and multiplieth his speeches against God.
