< Job 15 >

1 Ket simmungbat ni Elifaz a Temanita ket kinunana,
But Eliphaz the Themanite, answering, said:
2 “Sumungbat aya ti masirib a tao babaen iti awan serserbina a pannakaammo ken punoenna ti bagina iti angin ti daya?
Will a wise man answer as if he were speaking wind, and will he fill his stomach with fire?
3 Agkalintegan aya isuna babaen iti awan serserbina a sasao wenno kadagiti panagsasao nga awan ti nasayaat a maibungana?
You rebuke with words he who is not equal to you, and you speak what is not expedient for you,
4 Pudno, kiskissayam ti panagraem iti Dios; laplapdam ti panangutob kenkuana,
to such an extent that, within yourself, you have expelled reverence and have taken away prayers from the presence of God.
5 ta isursuro ti kinadangkesmo ti ngiwatmo; pilpiliem ti maaddaan iti dila ti tao a nasikap.
For your iniquity has mislead your mouth, and you imitate the tongue of blasphemers.
6 Uk-ukomennaka ti bukodmo a ngiwat, saan a siak; wen, agsaksi dagiti bukodmo a bibig a maibusor kenka.
Your own mouth will condemn you, not I; and your own lips will answer you.
7 Sika kadi ti umuna a tao a naiyanak? Napaaddaka kadi sakbay dagiti turturod?
Are you the first man who was born, or were you formed before the hills?
8 Nangngegmo kadi ti nalimed a pannakaammo ti Dios? Sika laeng kadi ti tao a masirib?
Have you heard the intentions of God, and will his wisdom be inferior to you?
9 Ania ti ammom a saanmi nga ammo? Ania ti maawatam nga awan met kadakami?
What do you know, about which we are ignorant? What do you understand that we do not know?
10 Kaduami dagiti ubanan ken dagiti nataengan unayen a tattao a laklakay ngem ti amam.
There are with us both aged and ancient men, even more senior than your fathers.
11 Bassit kadi unay dagiti pangliwliwa ti Dios para kenka, dagiti sasao a naalumamay a para kenka?
Is it so important that God should console you? But your own depraved words prevent this.
12 Apay nga ipanawnaka ti pusom? Apay nga agkusilap dagiti matam,
Why does your heart exalt you, and why do you gaze with your eyes, as if thinking great things?
13 tapno iturongmo ti espiritum a maibusor iti Dios ken iruarmo dagiti kasta a sasao manipud iti ngiwatmo?
Why does your spirit stir against God, so as to utter such speeches from your mouth?
14 Ania ti tao a nadalus koma isuna? Ania isuna a naiyanak iti babai a nalinteg koma isuna?
What is man that he should be immaculate, and that he should appear just, having been born of woman?
15 Adtoy, saan nga agtaltalek ti Dios uray kadagiti sasantona; wen, saan a nadalus dagiti langit iti imatangna;
Behold, among his holy ones not one is immutable, and even the heavens are not pure in his sight.
16 ad-adda pay a narugit ti maysa a makarimon ken nakillo, ti maysa a tao nga umin-inom iti kinadangkes a kasla danum!
How much more abominable and useless is the man who drinks as if from the water of iniquity?
17 Ipakitak kenka; dumngegka kaniak; Ibagakto kenka dagiti banbanag a nakitak,
I will reveal to you, so listen to me; and I will explain to you what I have seen.
18 dagiti banbanag nga imbaga met dagiti mamasirib a lallaki manipud kadagiti ammada, dagiti banbanag a saan nga inlemmeng dagiti kapuonanda.
The wise acknowledge, and they do not leave behind, their fathers,
19 Dagitoy dagiti kapuonanda, nga isu laeng ti nakaitedan ti daga, ken awan a pulos ti gangganaet a limmabas kadakuada.
to whom alone the earth has been given, and no stranger passed among them.
20 Agtiritir ti ut-ot ti nadangkes a tao kadagiti amin nga al-aldawna, ti bilang dagiti tawtawen a naisagana a maipaay iti panagsagaba ti mangparparigat.
The impious is arrogant for all his days, and the number of the years of his tyranny is uncertain.
21 Adda kadagiti lapayagna ti uni dagiti pamutbuteng; bayat iti kinarang-ayna, umayto kenkuana ti managdadael.
The sound of terror is always in his ears; and when there is peace, he always suspects treason.
22 Saanna a panpanunoten nga agsublinto isuna manipud iti kinasipnget; agur-uray ti kampilan kenkuana.
He does not believe that it is possible for him to be turned from darkness into the light, for he sees around him the sword on every side.
23 Mapan isuna iti nadumaduma a disso para iti tinapay, a kunkunana, “Sadinno ti ayanna daytoy?' Ammona a dandanin umay ti aldaw ti kinasipnget.
When he moves himself to seek bread, he knows that the day of darkness has been prepared for his hand.
24 Butbutngen isuna ti rigat ken ut-ot; agballigi dagitoy a maibusor kenkuana, a kas ti ari a nakasagana a makigubat.
Tribulation will terrify him, and anguish will prevail over him, like a king who is being prepared to go to battle.
25 Gapu ta inyunnatna ti imana a maibusor iti Dios ken sitatangsit a maibusor iti Mannakabalin amin,
For he has extended his hand against God, and he has strengthened himself against the Almighty.
26 daytoy a nadangkes a tao ket agtaray a mapan iti Dios a sisisikkel ti tengngedna, nga addaan ti napuskol a kalasag.
He has rushed against him with his throat exposed, and he has been armed with a fat neck.
27 Pudno daytoy, uray no kinallubanna ti rupana babaen ti kinalukmegna ken nagurnong ti taba kadagiti lomlomona,
Thickness has covered his face, and lard hangs down from his sides.
28 ken nagnaed kadagiti nabaybay-an a siudad; kadagiti balbalay nga awan ti agnanaed ita ken nakasagana nga agbalin a gabsuon.
He has lived in desolate cities and deserted houses, which have been turned into tombs.
29 Saanto a bumaknang isuna; saanto nga agpaut ti kinabaknangna; saanto pay nga agpaut uray ti aniniwanna iti daga.
He will not be enriched, nor will his basic necessities endure, nor will he establish his root in the earth.
30 Saanto isuna a makapanaw iti kinasipnget; pagangngoento ti apuy dagiti sangsangana; pumanawto isuna gapu iti anges ti ngiwat ti Dios.
He will not withdraw from the darkness; the flame will burn up his branches, and he will be defeated by the breath of his own mouth.
31 Saan koma nga agtalek isuna kadagiti awan serserbina a banbanag, nga al-allilawenna ti bagina; ta ti kinaawan-mammaayna ket isunto ti gungonana.
He will not believe, being vainly deceived by error, that he could be redeemed at any price.
32 Mapasamakto daytoy sakbay nga umay ti tiempo ti ipapatayna; saanto a lumangto ti sangana.
Before his time is completed, he will pass into ruin and his hands will wither away.
33 Iregregnanto dagiti naganus nga ubasna a kas iti lanut ti ubas; itinnagnanto dagiti sabsabongna a kas iti kayo ti olibo.
He will be wounded like a grapevine, when its cluster is in first flower, and like an olive tree that casts off its flower.
34 Ta malupesto dagiti bunggoy dagiti awan diosna a tattao; uramento ti apuy dagiti toldada ti pannakapasuksok.
For the congregation of the hypocrites is fruitless, and fire will devour the tabernacles of those who love to accept money.
35 Agsikugda ti kinaranggas ken ipasngayda ti kinadangkes; agsikug ti aanakanda iti panangallilaw.”
He has conceived sorrow, and he has brought forth iniquity, and his womb prepares deceit.
