< Job 14 >

1 Ti tao a maiyanak iti babai, agbiag laeng iti sumagmamano nga al-aldaw ken napnoan ti riribuk.
Man born of a woman is short of days, and sated with harrowing trouble.
2 Agrusing isuna manipud iti daga a kasla maysa a sabong ket makeltay; agpukaw isuna a kasla aniniwan ken saan nga agpaut.
Like a flower he cometh forth, and is cut down: and he fleeth like a shadow, and remaineth not.
3 Kumitkitaka kadi iti aniaman kadagitoy? Ikuyognak kadi iti pangukoman?
And yet on such a one dost thou open thy eyes, and me thou bringest into judgment with thee?
4 Siasino ti makaiyeg ti maysa a banag a nadalus manipud ti maysa a banag a narugit? Awan.
Who can make a clean thing out of an unclean? not one [thing].
5 Naikeddengen dagiti al-aldaw ti tao; Adda kenka dagiti bilang dagiti bulbulanna; dinutokam ti pagpatinggaanna a saanna a mabalin a labsan.
Seeing that his days are determined, the number of his months are [fixed] with thee, that thou hast set his bounds which he cannot pass:
6 Iyadayom iti panagkitam kenkuana tapno makainana isuna, tapno maragragsakna ti aldawna a kas maysa a natangdanan a tao no maaramidna ti kasta.
Turn thyself from him that he may recover from his pain, and be able to enjoy like a hired laborer his day.
7 Adda ti namnama iti kayo; no mapukan daytoy, mabalin nga agrusing manen, a saanto nga agsardeng ti naganus a sangana.
For there is hope for the tree: if it be cut down, it may still sprout again, while its young shoot will not cease.
8 Uray no matangkenan ti ramutna iti daga, ken matay ti puonna iti daga,
If even its root become old in the earth, and its stock die in the dust:
9 ngem uray makaangot laeng daytoy iti danum, agsaringitto daytoy ken agsanga a kas iti mula.
Yet through the scent of water will it flourish [again], and produce boughs as though It were newly planted.
10 Ngem matay ti tao; kumapsot isuna; pudno nga agsardeng nga aganges ti tao, ket sadino ti ayanna?
But man dieth, and lieth powerless: yea, the son of earth departeth—and where is he?
11 Kas ti panagawan ti danum iti dan-aw ken kas iti panagpukaw ken panagmaga ti danum iti karayan,
The waters run off from the sea, and the river faileth and drieth up:
12 kasta met ti panagidda dagiti tattao ken saanen a bumangon manen. Agingga nga awanen dagiti langit, saandanto nga agriing wenno mariing iti pannaturogda.
So doth man lie down, and riseth not: till the heavens be no more, they will not awake, and will not be roused out of their sleep.
13 O, nga ilemmengnak koma idiay sheol nga adayu manipud kadagiti riribuk, ken idulinnak iti nalimed agingga a malpas ti pungtotmo, a tudingannak iti maysa a nadutokan a tiempo nga agtalinaed sadiay ket lagipennak! (Sheol h7585)
Oh who would grant that thou mightest hide me in the nether world, that thou mightest conceal me, until thy wrath be appeased, that thou mightest set for me a fixed time, and remember me then! (Sheol h7585)
14 No matay ti tao, agbiagto aya manen? No kasta, tarigagayak nga urayen amin a pakabannogak sadiay agingga nga umay ti pannakawayawayak.
Or, when a man dieth, will he live again? all the days of my time of service would I then wait, till [the hour of] my release were come.
15 Umawagkanto, ket sungbatanka. Agtarigagaykanto kadagiti trabaho dagiti imam.
Do thou call, and I will truly answer thee: have a desire for the work of thy hands.
16 Bilangen ken imdengamto dagiti addangko; saanmonto a kankanayon a siputan ti basolko.
Yet now thou numberest my steps: and thou waitest not with [the punishment of] my sin.
17 Maidulinto dagiti basbasolko iti maysa a supot; kallubamto dagiti kinadakesko.
Sealed up in a bag is my transgression, and thou yet addest to my iniquity.
18 Ngem uray dagiti banbantay ket agriggaay ken agbalin nga awan mamaayna; uray dagiti batbato ket maiyakar kadagiti ayanda;
But truly a falling mountain will crumble, and [even] a rock is moved out of its place.
19 runoten dagiti danum dagiti batbato; iyanod ti panaglayusda ti tapuk ti daga. Kas iti daytoy, dadaelem dagiti namnama ti tao.
The water weareth out stones; thou sweepest away their fragments [like] the dust of the earth: and so thou destroyest the hope of man.
20 Kankanayonmo a parmeken isuna, ket aglabas isuna; baliwam ti rupana ken papanawem tapno matay isuna.
Thou assailest him with might without ceasing, till he passeth away: thou changest his countenance, and sendest him off.
21 Maidaydayaw dagiti annakna a lallaki, ngem saanna nga ammo daytoy; mabalin a maipababada, ngem saanna a makita a mapasamak daytoy.
His children acquire honor, but he knoweth it not: and they are esteemed little, but he perceiveth nothing of them.
22 Mariknana laeng ti ut-ot ti bukodna a bagi, ken agladingit isuna para iti bagina.
But his body. on him, feeleth pain, and his soul will mourn for him.
