< Job 12 >

1 Ket simmungbat ni Job ket kinunana,
And Job answered and said,
2 “Awan duadua a dakayo dagiti tattao; matayto ti kinasirib a kaduayo.
So then you [alone] are men, and wisdom shall die with you?
3 Ngem addaanak iti pannakaawat a kas kadakayo; saanak a nababbaba ngem kadakayo. Wen, siasino ti saan a makaammo kadagiti banbanag a kas kadagitoy?
[But] I also have a heart as well as you.
4 Maysaak a pagkakatawaan dagiti kaarrubak—siak, nga immawag iti Dios ken sinungbatanna! Siak, a nalinteg ken awan ti pakababalawanna a tao—maysaak itan a pagkakatawaan.
For a righteous and blameless man has become a subject for mockery.
5 Iti panunot ti tao a nanam-ay ket adda iti panangumsi para iti kinadaksanggasat; agpanpanunot isuna iti wagas a mangyeg pay iti ad-adu a kinadaksanggasat kadagiti maikagkaglis ti sakana.
For it had been ordained that he should fall under others at the appointed time, and that his houses should be spoiled by transgressors: let not however any one trust that, being evil, he shall be [held] guiltless,
6 Rumang-ay dagiti tolda dagiti agtatakaw, ket natalged dagiti mangpapaunget iti Dios; dagiti bukodda nga ima dagiti diosda.
even as many as provoke the Lord, as if there were indeed to be no inquisition [made] of them.
7 Ngem ita damagem dagiti narungsot nga ayup, ket suroandaka; damagem dagiti billit kadagiti tangatang, ket ibagada kenka.
But ask now the beasts, if they may speak to you; and the birds of the air, if they may declare to you.
8 Wenno agsaoka iti daga, ket suroannaka daytoy; ibaganto kenka dagiti lames ti baybay.
Tell the earth, if it may speak to you: and the fishes of the sea shall explain to you.
9 Ania kadagitoy amin nga ayup ti saan a makaammo nga inaramid dagiti ima ti Dios daytoy—inikkanna ida iti biag—
Who then has not known in all these things, that the hand of the Lord has made them?
10 O Yahweh, siasino ti makin-iggem iti biag dagiti tunggal agbibiag a banag ken ti anges ti amin a sangkataoan?
Whereas the life of all living things is in his hand, and the breath of every man.
11 Saan kadi a suboken ti lapayag dagiti sasao a kas iti panangraman ti dawat-dawat iti kanenna?
For the ear tries words, and the palate tastes meats.
12 Ti adda iti nataengan a tao ket kinasirib; iti kinaatiddog dagiti aldaw ket pannakaawat.
In length of time is wisdom, and in long life knowledge.
13 Adda iti Dios ti kinasirib ken bileg; addaan isuna iti nasayaat a kapanunotan ken pannakaawat.
With him are wisdom and power, with him counsel and understanding.
14 Kitaenyo, mangrebba isuna, ket saanen a maibangon manen; no ibaludna ti maysa a tao, awanen ti pannakawayawaya.
If he should cast down, who will build up? if he should shut up against man, who shall open?
15 Kitaenyo, no pasardengenna dagiti danum, maattianan dagitoy; ket no burwanganna dagitoy, dadaelenda ti daga.
If he should withhold the water, he will dry the earth: and if he should let it loose, he overthrows and destroys it.
16 Adda kenkuana ti pigsa ken kinasirib; agpada nga adda iti pannakabalinna dagiti tattao a naallilaw ken dagiti manangallilaw.
With him are strength and power: he has knowledge and understanding.
17 Idalanna a sakasaka iti liday dagiti mammagbaga; pagbalinenna a maag dagiti ukom.
He leads counselors away captive, and maddens the judges of the earth.
18 Ikkatenna dagiti kawar ti turay manipud kadagiti ari; barikesenna ida iti lupot.
He seats kings upon thrones, and girds their loins with a girdle.
19 Iyadayona dagiti papadi a sakasaka iti liday ken parmekenna dagiti nabileg a tattao.
He sends away priests into captivity, and overthrows the mighty ones of the earth.
20 Ikkatenna dagiti sasao dagiti tattao a mapagtalkan ken ikkatenna dagiti pannakaawat dagiti panglakayen.
He changes the lips of the trusty, and he knows the understanding of the elders.
21 Ibukbukbukna ti pananglais kadagiti prinsipe ken ikkatenna dagiti barikes dagiti napipigsa a tattao.
He pours dishonor upon princes, and heals the lowly.
22 Ipakpakitana dagiti nauuneg a banbanag manipud iti kasipngetan ken iruarna iti lawag dagiti aniniwan nga ayan dagiti natay a tattao.
Revealing deep things out of darkness: and he has brought into light the shadow of death.
23 Pappapigsaenna dagiti nasion, ket daddaelenna met dagitoy; palawaenna dagiti nasion, ket idalanna met ida a kas balud.
Causing the nations to wander, and destroying them: overthrowing the nations, and leading them [away].
24 Ik-ikkatenna ti pannakaawat manipud kadagiti panguloen dagiti tattao iti daga; pagalla-allaenna ida idiay let-ang nga awan ti dalan.
Perplexing the minds of the princes of the earth: and he causes them to wander in a way, they have not known, [saying],
25 Agarikapda iti kasipngetan nga awan ti lawag; pagdiwer-diwerenna ida a kasla nabartek a tao.
Let them grope [in] darkness, and [let there be] no light, and let them wander as a drunken man.
