< Jeremias 9 >
1 No makapaadda laeng koma ti ulok iti danum, ken agbalin dagiti matak a burayok dagiti lulua! Ta kayatko koma nga agsangit iti aldaw ken rabii gapu kadagiti adda iti anak a babai dagiti tattaok, a napapatay.
How I wish my head was a spring of water, and my eyes a fountain of tears! Then I would weep day and night over all my people who have been killed.
2 No adda laeng koma iti mangted kaniak iti lugar a pagianan dagiti agdaldaliasat idiay let-ang, a mabalinko a papanan tapno panawak dagiti tattaok. No mabalinko laeng koma ida a panawan, agsipud ta mannakikamalalada amin, bunggoy dagiti mangliliput!
I wish I had a temporary shelter in the desert—I would give up on my people and leave them, because they're all adulterers, a bunch of traitors!
3 Imbaga ni Yahweh, “Agibagbagada kadagiti palso a banbanag babaen kadagiti dilada, nga isu dagiti manangallilaw a baida, ngem saanda a nabileg iti kinapudno iti rabaw ti daga. Agtultuloy ti panagtignayda iti dinadangkes. Saandak nga am-ammo.”
Their words are like arrows shot from a bow. Lies win out over the truth throughout the country. They go from one evil thing to the next, forgetting all about me, declares the Lord.
4 Tunggal maysa kadakayo, agannadkayo iti kaarrubayo ken saankayo nga agtalek iti siasinoman a kabsat. Ta tunggal kabsat ket maysa a manangallilaw ken tunggal kaarruba ket mamarpardaya.
Everyone, watch out for your friends! Don't even trust your brother! Every brother is deceitful, and every friend slanders other people.
5 Laisen ti tunggal lalaki ti kaarrubana ken saan nga agsao iti pudno. Mangisuro dagiti dilada kadagiti makaallilaw a banbanag. Nabannogda manipud iti panagaramid iti nakaro a basol.
Everyone betrays their friends; no one tells the truth. They've made themselves into expert liars; they tire themselves out doing wrong.
6 Agbibiagka iti tengnga ti panangallilaw; iti panangallilawda ket agkedkedda a mangbigbig kaniak— kastoy ti pakaammo ni Yahweh.”
Everyone exploits each other, and in all their lies they don't want to know me, declares the Lord.
7 Isu a kastoy ti kuna ni Yahweh a Mannakabalin amin, “Kitaem, dandanikon ida a suboken. Sukimatek ida. Kasano pay ti rumbeng a panagtignayko para kadagiti annak a babai dagiti tattaok?
So this is what the Lord Almighty says: Look, I'm going to test them and purify them like metal in a furnace. What else can I do because of what my people have done?
8 Dagiti dilada ket kasla natiradan a pana; saan a pudno dagiti ibagbagada. Kadagiti ngiwatda ket iwaragawagda ti kappia kadagiti kaarrubada, ngem kadagiti pusoda ket padpadaananda ida.
Their words are arrows that kill; they always tell lies. They're nice to their friends on the outside while plotting against them inside.
9 Saan kadi a rumbeng a dusaek ida gapu kadagitoy a banbanag— kastoy ti pakaammo ni Yahweh— ken saan kadi a rumbeng a balsek ti nasion a kas iti daytoy?
Shouldn't I punish them for all this? declares the Lord. Shouldn't I retaliate for what this nation has done?
10 Agkantaak iti kanta a panagladingit ken panagdung-aw para kadagiti banbantay, ken maikantanto ti kanta a pangdung-aw para kadagiti pagaraban. Ta napuoran dagitoy isu nga awan iti mabalin a lumasat kadagitoy. Saandanto a mangngeg ti emmak ti aniaman a baka. Pimmanaw amin dagiti billit iti tangatang ken dagiti ayup.
I will weep and wail for the mountains, I will sing a funeral song over the pastures in the countryside, because they have been so badly burned that no one can pass through, and there are no cattle to make any noise. The birds have flown and the wild animals have run away.
11 Isu a pagbalinekto ti Jerusalem a gabsuon iti pannakadadael, a pagnaedan dagiti atap nga aso. Pagbalinek dagiti siudad ti Juda a nadadael a lugar nga awan iti agnanaed.
I'm going to make Jerusalem into a heap of rubble, a place where jackals live. I will destroy the towns of Judah, leaving them empty.
12 Siasino ti masirib a tao a makaawat iti daytoy? Ania ti iwaragawag kenkuana ti ngiwat ni Yahweh tapno mabalinna nga ipadamag daytoy? Apay a nadadael ti daga? Nadadael daytoy a kas iti let-ang, nga awan iti siasinoman a mabalin a lumasat iti daytoy.
Who is wise enough to understand this? Has the Lord told anyone so they can explain what's happened? Why has the land been destroyed and burned so it's like a desert, so no one can pass through it?
13 Kuna ni Yahweh, “Daytoy ket gapu ta tinallikudanda dagiti lintegko nga intedko a tungpalenda, gapu ta saanda a dumngeg iti timekko wenno agbiag babaen iti daytoy.
The Lord replied, It's because they have given up keeping my laws that I placed before them. They haven't followed them; they haven't done what I told them.
14 Daytoy ket gapu ta nagbiagda a sinurotda dagiti nasukir a pusoda ken nagdayawda kadagiti Baal a kas insuro kadakuada dagiti ammada nga aramidenda.
On the contrary, they have followed their own stubborn way of thinking, and went to worship the Baals, just as their forefathers taught them.
15 Isu a kastoy ti kuna ni Yahweh a Mannakabalin amin a Dios ti Israel, 'Kitaem, dandanikon pakanen dagitoy a tattao iti ajenjo ken painumen iti nasabidongan a danum.
So this is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says: Watch out! I will give these people wormwood to eat and poisoned water to drink.
16 Kalpasanna, iwaraskonto ida kadagiti nasion a saanda nga ammo, saanda nga ammo ken saan met nga ammo dagiti kapuonanda. Mangibaonakto iti kampilan a mangkamat kadakuada agingga a madadaelko ida a naan-anay.”
I'm about to scatter them among nations unfamiliar to them and their forefathers, and I will send enemies with swords to chase after them until I have wiped them out.
17 Kastoy ti kuna ni Yahweh a Mannakabalin amin, “Panunotenyo ti maipapan iti daytoy: Mangayabkayo kadagiti kumakanta iti pangdung-aw; paumayenyo ida. Mangibaonkayo iti mapan mangayab kadagiti babbai a nalaing nga agdung-aw; paumayenyo ida.
This is what the Lord Almighty says: Be aware of what's happening! Call for the professional women mourners, ask for the best of them.
18 Apuraenyo ida ket agkantada iti naladingit a kanta kadatayo, tapno agtedted dagiti lua kadagiti matatayo ken agayus ti danum kadagiti kalub iti matatayo.
Have them come as quickly as possible, and sing a funeral song about us, so we can cry our eyes out, so our tears will flow like streams.
19 Ta ti ikkis ti panagdung-aw ket mangngeg idiay Zion, 'No kasano a nadadaeltayo. Naibabaintayo iti napalalo, ta pinanawantayo ti daga agsipud ta rinebbada dagiti babbalaytayo.'
The sound of weeping comes from Zion, “We're completely devastated! We're totally ashamed, because we've had to abandon our country, because our houses have been demolished.”
20 Isu a dakayo a babbai, denggenyo ti sao ni Yahweh; ipangagyo dagiti mensahe nga aggapu iti ngiwatna. Kalpasanna, suroanyo dagiti annakyo a babbai iti naladingit a kanta, ken pangdung-aw a kanta iti tunggal kaarruba a babai.
Women, listen to the Lord's message, hear what he has to say. Teach your daughters to mourn and sing songs of sadness.
21 Ta simrek ti patay kadagiti tawatayo; umuneg daytoy kadagiti palasiotayo. Dadaelenna daytoy dagiti ubbing iti ruar, ken dagiti agtutubo kadagiti kalkalsada ti siudad.
Death has slipped in through our windows; it has come into our fortresses. It has killed the children playing in the streets and the young people gathering in the town squares.
22 Ipakaammom daytoy, 'Kastoy ti pakaammo ni Yahweh— dagiti bangkay dagiti lallaki ket maiwara a kasla rugit kadagiti tay-ak, ken kasla garami a nabati kalpasan dagiti agan-ani, ket awanto ti siasinoman a mangurnong kadakuada.'”
Tell everyone this is what the Lord says: Dead bodies will be left where they fall like manure in the fields, lying there like stalks of freshly-cut grain behind the reaper, with no one to collect them.
23 Kastoy ti kuna ni Yahweh, “Saan koma ipannakkel ti nasirib a tao ti kinasiribna, wenno ti mannakigubat ti bilegna. Saan koma ipannakkel ti nabaknang a tao iti kinabaknangna.
This is what the Lord says: The wise shouldn't boast about their wisdom. The strong shouldn't boast about their strength. The rich shouldn't boast about their riches.
24 Ta no ipannakkel ti maysa a tao iti aniaman a banag, daytoy koma ti ipannakkelna, ti pannakaaddana iti kinasaririt ken pannakaammo kaniak. Ta siak ni Yahweh, nga agtigtignay nga addaan iti kinapudno iti tulag, hustisia ken kinalinteg iti daga. Ta daytoy dagiti pakaragsakak— kastoy ti pakaammo ni Yahweh.”
Anyone who wants to boast should boast that they really know and understand me, recognizing that I am the Lord who acts with trustworthy love, who shows fairness, and who does what is right everywhere on earth, because these mean the most to me, declares the Lord.
25 “Kitaem, umadanin dagiti aldaw— kastoy ti pakaammo ni Yahweh— inton dusaek amin dagiti nakugit nga iti laeng bagida.
Watch out, for the time is coming, declares the Lord, when I will punish all who are only physically circumcised.
26 Dusaekto ti Egipto ken ti Juda, ti Edom, dagiti tattao ti Ammon, ti Moab, ken dagiti amin a tattao a mangpukpukis kadagiti buokda, nga agnanaed idiay disierto. Ta amin dagitoy a nasion ket saan a nakugit, ken amin dagiti balay ti Israel ket addaan iti saan a nakugit a puso.”
Egypt, Judah, Edom, Ammon, Moab, and all the desert people who trim their hair on the sides of their heads—all these nations are uncircumcised, and all the Israelites are spiritually uncircumcised.
