< Jeremias 40 >
1 Daytoy ti sao nga immay kenni Jeremias manipud kenni Yahweh kalpasan a pinalubosan isuna ni Nebuzaradan, a kapitan dagiti agbanbantay iti ari a mapan idiay Rama. Dayta ti lugar a nakaiyapanan ni Jeremias, ken ti lugar a nangrimpunganda kenkuana babaen kadigiti kawar. Kaduana dagiti amin a natiliw idiay Jerusalem ken Juda a maipan kas balud idiay Babilonia.
The word which came to Jeremiah from Jehovah, after that Nebuzaradan, captain of the guard, had let him go from Ramah. For he had taken him, and he had been bound with chains among all the captives of Jerusalem and Judah which were carried away captive to Babylon.
2 Innala ti pangulo dagiti agbanbantay ni Jeremias ket kinunana kenkuana, “Inkeddeng ni Yahweh a Diosmo daytoy a didigra a maibusor iti daytoy a lugar.
And the captain of the guard took Jeremiah, and said to him: “Jehovah, thy God, pronounced this evil against this place;
3 Isu nga inyeg ni Yahweh daytoy. Inaramidna no ania iti inkeddengna, agsipud ta nagbasolkayo a tattao kenkuana ken saankayo a nagtulnog iti timekna. Dayta ti makagapu a napasamak daytoy a banag kadakayo a tattao.
and now Jehovah hath brought it, and done according as he spake, because ye sinned against Jehovah, and obeyed not his voice; therefore hath this thing come upon you.
4 Ngem ita kitaem! Winayawayaanka itan manipud kadagiti kawar nga adda kadagiti imam. No iti panagkitam ket nasayaat a kumuyogka kaniak a mapan idiay Babilonia, umayka, ket aywananka. Ngem no iti panagkitam ket saan a nasayaat a kumuyogka kaniak idiay Babilonia, saanmo ngarud nga aramiden. Kumitaka iti entero a daga iti sangoanam. Mapanka iti sadinoman a kayatmo a papanan.”
And now, behold, I loose thee this day from the chains upon thy hands. If it seem good to thee to come with me to Babylon, come; and I will set my eyes upon thee; but if it seem evil to thee to come with me to Babylon, forbear; behold, the whole land is before thee; whither it seemeth good and desirable for thee to go, thither go.”
5 Idi saan a simmungbat ni Jeremias, kinuna ni Nebuzaradan, “Mapanka kenni Gedalias a putot ni Ahikam a putot ni Safan, a dinutokan ti ari ti Babilonia a mangimaton kadagiti siudad ti Juda. Makipagnaedka kenkuana a kaduam dagiti tattao wenno mapanka iti sadinoman a kayatmo a papanan.” Inikkan isuna ti pangulo dagiti agbanbantay iti ari iti taraon ken sagut, ket pinalubosanna isuna a pumanaw.
And while he was not yet gone away [[he said]]: “Go to Gedaliah, the of son Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, whom the king of Babylon hath made governor over the cities of Judah, and dwell with him among the people; or go whithersoever it seemeth good to thee to go.” And the captain of the guard gave him provisions, and a present, and dismissed him.
6 Napan ngarud ni Jeremias kenni Gedalias a putot ni Ahikam, idiay Mizpa. Nakipagnaed isuna kenkuana a kaduana dagiti tattao a nabati iti daga.
And Jeremiah went to Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam, to Mizpah, and dwelt with him among the people that were left in the land.
7 Ita, dagiti dadduma a mangidadaulo kadagiti suldado a Judio nga adda pay laeng idiay away-isuda ken dagiti tattaoda - ket nadamagda a dinutokan ti ari ti Babilonia ni Gedalias a putot ni Ahikam, nga agbalin a gobernador iti entero a daga. Nadamagda pay a dinutokan ni Nebucadnesar ni Gedalias a mangimaton kadagiti lallaki, babbai, ken ubbing, a kakukurapayan a tattao iti daga, dagidiay saan a naipan a kas balud idiay Babilonia.
Now when all the captains of the forces which were in the fields, they and their men, heard that the king of Babylon had made Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam, governor over the land, and had committed to his charge men and women and children, of the poor of the land, of them that were not carried away captive to Babylon,
8 Napanda ngarud kenni Gedalias idiay Mizpa. Dagitoy a lallaki ket ni Ismael a putot ni Netanias; ni Johanan ken ni Jonatan, a putot ni Karea; ni Seraias a putot ni Tanhumet; dagiti lallaki a putot ni Efai a taga-Netofa; ken ni Jezanias a taga-Maaca-ken dagiti soldadoda.
then they came to Gedaliah, to Mizpah; namely, Ishmael, the son of Nethaniah, and Johanan and Jonathan, the sons of Kareah, and Seraiah, the son of Tanhumeth, and the sons of Ephai the Netophathite, and Jezaniah, the son of the Maachathite, they and their men;
9 Nagsapata ni Gedalias a putot ni Ahikam a putot ni Safan kadakuada ken kadagiti tattaoda, ket kinunana kadakuada, “Saankayo nga agbuteng nga agserbi kadagiti opisial a Caldeo. Agnaedkayo iti daga ket agserbikayo iti ari ti Babilonia ket awanto ti pakaan-anoanyo.
and Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, swore to them and to their men, saying, “Fear not to serve the Chaldaeans; dwell in the land, and serve the king of Babylon, and it shall be well with you.
10 Ket kitaenyo, agnanaedak idiay Mizpa tapno makisinnarak kadagiti Caldeo nga immay kadatayo. Isu nga agurnongkayo iti arak, bungbunga a maapit iti tiempo ti kalgaw, ken lana ket idulinyo kadagiti pagkargaanyo. Agnaedkayo kadagiti siudad a sinakupyo.”
As for me, behold, I will dwell at Mizpah, to stand before the Chaldaeans, who shall come to us; but ye, gather ye in wine, and summer fruits, and oil, and put them in your vessels, and dwell in your cities which ye have taken.”
11 Ket nadamag dagiti amin a Judio idiay Moab, Ammon, ken Edom, ken iti tunggal daga a pinalubosan iti ari ti Babilonia nga agtalinaed dagiti nabatbati a tattao iti Juda, ket dinutokanna ni Gedalias a putot ni Ahikam a putot ni Safan a mangituray kadakuada.
Also when all the Jews that were in Moab, and among the children of Ammon, and in Edom, and that were in all the countries, heard that the king of Babylon had left a remnant to Judah, and that he had set over them Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan,
12 Isu a nagsubli dagiti Judio manipud kadagiti lugar a nakaiwarawaraanda. Nagsublida iti daga ti Juda, kenni Gedalias idiay Mizpa. Nangurnongda iti nakaad-adu nga arak ken bungbunga iti tiempo ti kalgaw.
then all the Jews returned from all the places whither they were driven, and came to the land of Judah, to Gedaliah, to Mizpah, and gathered wine and summer fruits in abundance.
13 Ni Johanan a putot ni Karea ken dagiti amin a mangidadaulo kadagiti armada idiay away ket napan kenni Gedalias idiay Mizpa.
And Johanan, the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces that were in the fields, came to Gedaliah, to Mizpah,
14 Kinunada kenkuana, “Ammom kadi nga imbaon ni Baalis nga ari dagiti tattao ti Ammon ni Ismael a putot ni Nethanias tapno papatayennaka?” Ngem saan a namati ni Gedalias a putot ni Ahikim kadakuada.
and said to him, “Dost thou know that Baalis, the king of the children of Ammon, hath sent Ishmael, the son of Nethaniah, to slay thee?” But Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam, believed them not.
15 Isu a ni Johanan a putot ni Karea, kinatungtongna iti nalimed ni Gedalias idiay Mizpa ket kinunana, “Palubosannak a mapan mangpapatay kenni Ismael a putot ni Netanias. Awanto ti mangpanunot a siak ti nangpapatay kenkuana. Apay koma a papatayennaka? Apay a palubosam a mawarawara ti entero a Juda a naguummong kenka ken mapukaw dagiti nabatbati a tattao ti Juda?”
And Johanan, the son of Kareah, spake to Gedaliah in private at Mizpah, saying, “Let me go, I pray thee, and smite Ishmael, the son of Nethaniah, and no man shall know it. Wherefore should he slay thee, that all the Jews which are gathered to thee should be scattered, and the remnant in Judah perish?”
16 Ngem kinuna ni Gedalias a putot ni Ahikam kenni Johanan a putot ni Karea, “Saamo nga aramiden daytoy a banag, ta agul-ulbodka maipapan kenni Ismael.”
But Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam, said to Johanan, the son of Kareah, “Thou shalt not do this thing, for thou speakest falsely of Ishmael.”
