< Jeremias 29 >

1 Dagitoy dagiti sasao a nailanad iti nalukot a pagbasaan nga impatulod ni Jeremias manipud Jerusalem kadagiti nabatbati a panglakayen kadagiti natiliw, kadagiti papadi, kadagiti profeta, ken kadagiti amin a tattao nga impanaw ni Nebucadnezar a kas balud manipud Jerusalem nga impanna idiay Babilonia.
Jeremiah the prophet wrote this letter and sent it from Jerusalem to the elders who were left among the exiles, to the priests, the prophets, and everyone else who had been exiled from Jerusalem to Babylon by Nebuchadnezzar.
2 Daytoy ket kalpasan a naipanaw manipud Jerusalem ni Jehoiachin nga ari, ti reyna, dagiti nangangato nga opisial, dagiti mangidadaulo iti Juda ken Jerusalem, ken dagiti nalaing a pumapanday.
This was after King Jehoiachin, the queen mother, the court officials, the leaders of Judah and Jerusalem, the craftsmen, and the metals-workers had been exiled from Jerusalem.
3 Impatulodna daytoy a nalukot a pagbasaan babaen kenni Elasa a putot ni Sapan, kenni Gemaria a putot ni Hilkia nga imbaon ni Zedekias nga ari ti Juda a mapan kenni Nebucadnezar nga ari ti Babilonia.
Elasah, son of Shaphan, and Gemariah, son of Hilkiah, took the letter with them when Zedekiah king of Judah sent them to King Nebuchadnezzar in Babylon. In the letter Jeremiah wrote:
4 Kastoy ti nailanad iti nalukot a pagbasaan, “Kastoy ti kuna ni Yahweh a Mannakabalin-amin a Dios ti Israel kadagiti amin a natiliw ken impaipanawko manipud Jerusalem a naipan a kas balud idiay Babilonia,
This is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says to all the exiles who were taken from Jerusalem to Babylon:
5 'Mangipatakderkayo kadagiti balbalay ket pagnaedanyo dagitoy. Mulaanyo dagiti pagmulaan ket kanenyo ti ibunga dagitoy.
Build yourselves houses there to live in. Plant gardens and grow food to eat.
6 Mangasawakayo ket aganakkayo iti lallaki ken babbai. Ket pangasawaenyo dagiti annakyo a lallaki, ken panagsawaenyo dagiti annakyo a babbai. Bay-anyo nga aganakda iti lallaki ken babbai ken umadokayo sadiay a saan ket a bumassit ti bilangyo.
Get married and have children. Arrange for your children to get married so they can have children too. Increase in number, don't decrease.
7 Ti pagsayaatan ti siudad a nangipanak kadakayo a kas balud ti aramidenyo, ken agkararagkayo kaniak para iti daytoy agsipud ta addanto kappia kadakayo no natalna daytoy.'
Help make the city where I've exiled you more prosperous. Pray to the Lord for it, since as it prospers, so will you.
8 Ta kastoy ti kuna ni Yahweh a Mannakabalin-amin a Dios ti Israel, 'Saanyo nga itulok nga allilawendakayo dagiti profeta nga adda kadakayo ken dagiti mammoyonyo ken saankayo a mamati kadagiti matagtagainepyo.
This is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says: Don't be fooled by your prophets and fortune-tellers, and don't listen to any dreams they interpret for you.
9 Ta inaallilaw ti ipadpadtoda kadakayo iti naganko. Saanko ida nga imbaon—kastoy ti pakaammo ni Yahweh.'
They are prophesying lies to you in my name; I have not sent them, declares the Lord.
10 Ta kastoy ti kuna ni Yahweh, 'Inton inturayannakayon ti Babilonia iti pitopulo a tawen, tulongankayo ken ipatungpalko ti nasayaat nga imbagak nga isublikayo iti daytoy a lugar.
This is what the Lord says: When the seventy years exile in Babylon are over, I will see to you and keep my promise to bring you back to Jerusalem.
11 Ta ammok a mismo dagiti planok para kadakayo—kastoy ti pakaammo ni Yahweh—dagiti plano para iti kappia a saan ket a didigra, nga ikkankayo iti nasayaat a masakbayan ken namnama.
I know what I intend to do for you, declares the Lord. I plan good things for you and not bad. I'm going to give you a future and a hope.
12 Ket umawagkayonto kaniak, ken agkararagkayto kaniak ket denggenkayto.
Then you will call for my help, you will come and pray to me, and I will answer you.
13 Ta birokendakto ket masarakandakto, agsipud ta binirokdak iti amin a pusoyo.
You will look for me and you will find me when you're completely committed to looking for me.
14 Ket masarakandakto—kastoy ti pakaammo ni Yahweh—ket isublik ti sigud a nasayaat a kasasaadyo; ummongenkayto manipud kadagiti amin a nasion ken luglugar a nangiwarawaraak kadakayo—ta isublikayto iti lugar a naggapuanyo manipud iti lugar nga intulokko a pakaipananyo a kas balud.'
I will let you find me, declares the Lord. I will end your captivity, gathering you from all the nations and places where I scattered you, declares the Lord. I will bring you back home to the place from where I sent you into exile.
15 Agsipud ta kinunayo a nangisaad ni Yahweh kadagiti profeta para kadakami idiay Babilonia,
But if you argue, “The Lord has provided prophets for us in Babylon,”
16 kastoy ti kuna ni Yahweh iti ari a nakatugaw iti trono ni David ken kadagiti amin a tattao nga agigian pay laeng iti dayta a siudad, dagiti kakabsatyo a saan a nairaman kadakayo a naipanaw a kas balud—
this is what the Lord says about the king who sits on David's throne and everyone who's left in Jerusalem, your fellow citizens who weren't taken with you into exile.
17 kastoy ti kuna ni Yahweh a Mannakabalin-amin, 'Kitaenyo, umadanin ti panangiyegko kadakuada iti kampilan, nakaro a panagbisin ken saksakit. Ta pagbalinekto ida a kasla nalungsot nga igos a saan a mabalin a kanen.
This is what the Lord Almighty says: I'm going send war and famine and disease against them. I'll make them like rotten figs, so bad that they can't be eaten.
18 Ket kamatekto ida babaen iti kampilan, nakaro a panagbisin ken angol ket pagbalinek ida a makapakintayeg iti panagkita dagiti amin a nasion iti rabaw ti daga— maysa a nakabutbuteng, usarendanto ti nagan dagitoy no adda ilunodda, ken maysa a nakababain a banag kadagiti nasion a nangiwarawaraak kadakuada.
I will chase them down with war and famine and disease. I will make all the kingdoms of the earth horrified by them. They will become a curse word, totally ruined, people to be mocked and criticized among all the nations where I scatter them.
19 Daytoy ket gapu ta saanda a dimngeg iti saok— kastoy ti pakaammo ni Yahweh— nga impakaammok kadakuada babaen kadagiti adipenko a profeta. Namin-adu nga imbaonko ida, ngem saankayo a dimngeg— kastoy ti pakaamo ni Yahweh.'
I'm going to do this because they haven't obeyed to my words, declares the Lord, which I sent to them time and again through my servants the prophets. You exiles haven't obeyed me either, declares the Lord.
20 Isu a dakayo a mismo, dumngegkayo iti sao ni Yahweh, aminkayo a naipanaw a kas balud manipud Jerusalem a naipan idiay Babilonia,
So listen to the word of the Lord, all you exiles I sent from Jerusalem to Babylon.
21 'Kastoy ti ibagak, siak a ni Yahweh a Mannakabalin-amin a Dios ti Israel maipanggep kenni Ahab a putot ni Kolaiah ken ni Zedekias a putot ni Maaseias, a siuulbod a nagipadto kadakayo babaen iti naganko: Kitaenyo, umadanin ti panangiyawatko kadakuada iti ima ni Nebucadnezar nga ari ti Babilonia. Patayennanto ida iti sangoananyo.
This is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says about Ahab son of Kolaiah and Zedekiah son of Maaseiah, who are prophesying lies to you in my name. I'm going to hand them over to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and he will kill them right before your eyes.
22 Ket addanto lunod nga ibaga dagiti amin a naipanaw iti Juda a kas balud idiay Babilonia maipanggep kadagitoy a tattao. Kastoyto ti lunod nga ibagada: Aramidento koma ni Yahweh kadakayo ti kas iti napasamak kenni Zedekias ken Ahab, a pinuoran ti ari ti Babilonia.
Because of what happens to them, all the exiles of Judah in Babylon will curse others like this: “May the Lord treat you like Zedekiah and Ahab, burned alive by the king of Babylon!”
23 Mapasamakto daytoy gapu kadagiti nakababain a banag nga inaramidda iti Israel idi nakikamalalada kadagiti assawa dagiti kaarrubada ken nangipakaammoda kadagiti saan a pudno a mensahe babaen iti naganko, banbanag a saanko a pulos nga imbilin kadakuada nga ibagada. Ta siak ti makaammo; siak ti saksi— kastoy ti pakaammo ni Yahweh.'”
They did outrageous things in Israel—they committed adultery with their neighbor's wives and told lies in my name. I didn't tell them to say anything. I am the one who knows what they did, and I can witness to it, declares the Lord.
24 “Maipanggep kenni Semaias a taga-Nehelam, kastoy ti naibaga:
Tell Shemaiah the Nehelamite
25 “Kastoy ti kuna ni Yahweh a Mannakabalin-amin: “Gapu ta nangipatulodka kadagiti surat kadagiti amin a tattao iti Jerusalem iti bukodmo a nagan, kenni Zefanias a putot ni Maaseias a padi, ken kadagiti amin a papadi, a kinunam,
that this is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says: On your own authority you sent out letters to all the people of Jerusalem, to the priest Zephaniah, son of Maaseiah, and to all the priests, saying,
26 'Pinagbalinnaka ni Yahweh a padi imbes a ni Jehoiada a padi, tapno sika ti makaammo iti pagsayaatan ti balay ni Yahweh. Sika ti makaammo kadagiti amin a tattao nga aginlalaing ken mamagbalin kadagiti bagbagida a profeta. Rumbeng nga ibalud ken kawaram ida.
“Zephaniah, the Lord has chosen you as priest to replace Jehoiada, to be in charge of the Lord's Temple. In that capacity you are required to put in the stocks and neck irons any crazy person who claims to be a prophet.
27 Isu nga ita, apay a saanmo a binabalaw ni Jeremias iti Anatot, a pinagbalinna a profeta ti bagina a maibusor kenka?
So why haven't you not punished Jeremiah of Anathoth, who claims to be a prophet among you?
28 Ta nangipatulod isuna iti mensahe kadakami idiay Babilonia a kunana, 'Nabayagto daytoy a tiempo. Mangipatakderkayo kadagiti balbalay ket pagnaedanyo dagitoy, ken agmulakayo ket kanenyo dagiti ibunga dagitoy.''”
You should have done this because he has sent a letter to us here in Babylon, stating, ‘The exile will last a long time. So build yourselves houses there to live in. Plant gardens and grow food to eat.’”
29 Binasa ni Zephaniah a padi daytoy a surat kenni Jeremias a profeta.
However, Zephaniah the priest read this letter to Jeremiah the prophet.
30 Isu nga immay ti sao ni Yahweh kenni Jeremias a kunana,
Then the Lord told Jeremiah:
31 “Mangipatulodka iti mensahe kadagiti naipanaw a kas balud, ibagam, 'Kastoy ti kuna ni Yahweh maipapan kenni Shemaias a taga-Nehelam: Gapu ta nagipadto ni Shemaias kadakayo nga uray saanko nga imbaon isuna; gapu ta inallukoynakayo a mamati iti inuulbod,
Send this message to all the exiles: This is what the Lord says about Shemaiah the Nehelamite. Since Shemaiah has prophesied to you, even though I didn't send him, and has convinced you to believe in a lie,
32 kastoy ngarud ti kuna ni Yahweh: Dumngegkayo, umadanin ti panangdusak kenni Shemaias a taga-Nehelam ken kadagiti kaputotanna. Awanto ti agtalinaed a kaputotanna. Saannanto a makita ti nasayaat nga aramidekto kadagiti tattaok— kastoy ti pakaammo ni Yahweh—ta inwaragawagna ti panagsukir maibusor kaniak, siak a ni Yahweh.'”
this is what the Lord says: I'm going to punish Shemaiah the Nehelamite and his descendants. He won't have any family left among this people, and he won't experience the good things that I'm going to do for my people, declares the Lord, for he has promoted rebellion against the Lord.
