< Jeremias 13 >
1 Kastoy ti kinuna ni Yahweh kaniak, “Mapanka gumatang iti akin-uneg a pagan-anay a lino ket ibidangmo daytoy, ngem saanmo pay laeng a basaen daytoy.”
Thus said Jehovah unto me: Go and buy thee a linen girdle, and put it upon thy loins; but dip it not in water.
2 Isu a gimmatangak iti akin-uneg a pagan-anay a kas imbilin ni Yahweh, ket imbidangko daytoy.
And I bought a girdle according to the word of Jehovah, and put it upon my loins.
3 Kalpasanna, immay ti sao ni Yahweh kaniak iti maikadua a daras a kinunana,
And the word of Jehovah came unto me the second time, saying,
4 “Alaem ti akin-uneg a pagan-anay a ginatangmo a nakabarikes iti siketmo, tumakderka ket mapanka idiay Eufrates. Ilemmengmo daytoy sadiay iti maysa a rengngat iti bato.”
Take the girdle that thou hast bought, which is upon thy loins, and arise, go to the Euphrates, and hide it there in a hole of the rock.
5 Isu a napanak ket inlemmengko daytoy idiay Eufrates a kas imbilin ni Yahweh kaniak.
So I went and hid it by the Euphrates, as Jehovah had commanded me.
6 Kalpasan iti adu nga aldaw, kinuna ni Yahweh kaniak, “Tumakderka ket agsublika idiay Eufrates. Alaem manipud sadiay ti akin-uneg a pagan-anay nga imbagak kenka nga ilemmengmo.”
And it came to pass at the end of many days, that Jehovah said unto me, Arise, go to the Euphrates, and take the girdle from thence which I commanded thee to hide there.
7 Isu a nagsubliak idiay Eufrates ket kinalik ti akin-uneg a pagan-anay iti nangilemmengak iti daytoy. Ngem idi kinitak, nadadael ti akin-uneg a pagan-anay; awanen iti serserbi daytoy.
And I went to the Euphrates, and digged, and took the girdle from the place where I had hid it; and behold, the girdle was spoiled, it was good for nothing.
8 Kalpasanna, immay manen ti sao ni Yahweh kaniak a kinunana,
And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,
9 “Kastoy ti kuna ni Yahweh: Iti kasta met laeng a wagas, dadaelekto ti napalalo a kinatangsit ti Juda ken ti Jerusalem.
Thus saith Jehovah: After this manner will I spoil the pride of Judah, and the great pride of Jerusalem.
10 Dagitoy a nadangkes a tattao a nagkedked a dumngeg iti saok, nga agbibiag iti kinatangken ti pusoda, a simmurot kadagiti didiosen tapno agdayaw ken agrukbabda kadagitoy- kasladanto iti daytoy nga akin-uneg a pagan-anay nga awan serserbina.
This evil people, who refuse to hear my words, who walk in the stubbornness of their heart, and go after other gods, to serve them and to worship them, shall even be as this girdle which is good for nothing.
11 Ta kas iti irut ti pannakaisuot ti akin-uneg a pagan-anay iti siket ti maysa a tao, kasta ti panangpakapetko kaniak kadagiti amin a balay ti Israel ken kadagiti amin a balay ti Juda- kastoy ti pakaammo ni Yahweh- nga agbalin a tattaok, a mangiyeg kaniak iti panangbigbig, panangdayaw ken panagraem. Ngem saanda a dumngeg kaniak.
For as a girdle cleaveth to the loins of a man, so have I caused to cleave unto me the whole house of Israel and the whole house of Judah, saith Jehovah; that they might be unto me for a people, and for a name, and for a praise, and for a glory: but they would not hear.
12 Isu a masapul nga ibagam daytoy a sao kadakuada, 'Kastoy ti kuna ni Yahweh a Dios ti Israel: Tunggal karamba ket mapunnonto iti arak.' Kunaendanto kenka, “Saanmi aya nga ammo a pudno a mapunnonto iti arak ti tunggal karamba?'
And thou shalt speak unto them this word: Thus saith Jehovah, the God of Israel, Every skin shall be filled with wine. And they will say unto thee, Do we not very well know that every skin shall be filled with wine?
13 Isu nga ibagam kadakuada, 'Kastoy ti kuna ni Yahweh: Kitaem, ngannganikon barteken ti tunggal agnanaed iti daytoy a daga, dagiti ari a nakatugaw iti trono ni David, dagiti padi, dagiti profeta ken dagiti amin nga agnanaed iti Jerusalem.
And thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith Jehovah: Behold, I will fill all the inhabitants of this land, and the kings that sit for David upon his throne, and the priests and the prophets, and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, with drunkenness.
14 Ket pagbibinnusurekto dagiti tattao, dagiti amma ken dagiti annak- kastoy ti pakaammo ni Yahweh- saankonto ida a kaasian wenno makarikna iti panangisakit, ken saankonto ida nga ispalen iti pannakadadael.'”
And I will dash them one against another, both the fathers and the sons together, saith Jehovah; I will not pity, nor spare, nor have mercy so as not to destroy them.
15 Dumngegkayo ken ipangagyo. Saankayo nga agtangtangsit, ta ni Yahweh ti nagsao.
Hear ye, and give ear, be not lifted up; for Jehovah hath spoken.
16 Dayawenyo ni Yahweh a Diosyo sakbay nga iyegna ti kinasipnget, ken sakbay a pagtibkulennakayo kadagiti bantay iti sumipnget. Ta mangnamnamakayo iti lawag, ngem pagsipngetennanto iti kasta unay ti lugar, pagbalinenna a nasipnget nga ulep.
Give glory to Jehovah your God, before he cause darkness, and before your feet stumble upon the mountains of twilight; and ye shall look for light, but he will turn it into the shadow of death, and make [it] gross darkness.
17 Isu a no saankayo a dumngeg, agsangitak nga agmaymaysa gapu iti kinatangsityo. Siguradonto nga agsangitak ken agayus dagiti luak, ta naipanaw a kas balud ti arban ni Yahweh.
And if ye will not hear it, my soul shall weep in secret places for [your] pride; and mine eye shall weep sore, and run down with tears, because Jehovah's flock is gone into captivity.
18 Ibagam iti ari ken iti ina a reyna, ''Agpakumbabakayo ket agtugawkayo, ta naikkaten dagiti korona iti uloyo, ti kinatan-okyo ken ti dayagyo.'
Say unto the king and to the queen: Humble yourselves, sit down low; for from your heads shall come down the crown of your magnificence.
19 Mairekepto dagiti siudad idiay Negeb, ket awan ti manglukat kadagitoy. Ti Juda ket maipanawto a kas balud, maipanawto a kas balud dagiti amin nga adda iti daytoy.
The cities of the south are shut up, and there is none to open [them]; all Judah is carried away captive: it is wholly carried away captive.
20 Tumangadka ket kitaem dagiti um-umay manipud iti amianan. Ayan ti arban nga intedna kenka, ti arban a napintas unay kenka?
Lift up your eyes, and behold them that come from the north. Where is the flock that was given thee, thy beautiful flock?
21 Anianto ngata ti ibagam inton ikabil ni Yahweh iti ngatoem dagiti sinuroam tapno agbalin a gagayyemmo? Saan aya a dagitoy ti pangrugian dagiti ut-ot a mangparigatto kenka a kas iti maysa a babai nga agpaspasikal?
What wilt thou say when he shall visit thee, since thou thyself hast trained them to be princes in chief over thee? Shall not sorrows take thee, as a woman in travail?
22 Ket mabalin a kunaem iti pusom, 'Apay a mapaspasamak kaniak dagitoy a banbanag?' Dagiti nakaad-adu unay a basolmo it makagapu a nailukais dagiti paldam ken nagundawayanka.
And if thou say in thy heart, Wherefore come these things upon me? For the greatness of thine iniquity are thy skirts uncovered, [and] thy heels have suffered violence.
23 Kabaelan aya a sukatan dagiti tattao ti Kuz dagiti maris ti kudilda, wenno kabaelan aya a sukatan ti maysa a leopardo ti labang daytoy? No kabaelanda, sika a mismo, uray naruamka iti kinadangkes, mabaelam koma met ngarud ti agaramid iti nasayaat.
Can an Ethiopian change his skin, or a leopard his spots? [Then] may ye also do good, who are accustomed to do evil.
24 Isu nga iwarawarakto ida a kas iti taep nga agpukaw iti angin ti let-ang.
And I will scatter them as stubble that passeth away by the wind of the wilderness.
25 Daytoy ti intedko kenka, ti bingay nga intudingko para kenka- kastoy ti pakaammo ni Yahweh- gapu ta linipatnak ken nagtalekka iti inaallilaw.
This shall be thy lot, thy measured portion from me, saith Jehovah; because thou hast forgotten me, and confided in falsehood.
26 Isu a Siak a mismo, ikkatekto dagiti paldam, ket makitanto dagiti paset ti bagim nga illemlemmengmo.
Therefore will I also turn thy skirts over thy face, and thy shame shall be seen.
27 Ti pannakikammalalam ken panaggartemmo, ti nakababain a dinederrep a kababalinmo iti rabaw dagiti turod ken kadagiti tay-ak! Ipakitakto dagitoy, dagitoy a makarimon a banbanag! Asika pay Jerusalem! Saankan a nadalus. Kasano pay kabayag ti panagtultuloy daytoy?”
Thine adulteries, and thy neighings, the lewdness of thy fornication, on the hills, in the fields, — thine abominations, have I seen. Woe unto thee, Jerusalem! Wilt thou not be made clean? after how long a time yet?
