< Isaias 8 >

1 Kinuna ni Yahweh kaniak, “Mangalaka iti dakkel a tapi ti bato ket isuratmo ditoy ti 'Maher Shalal Hash Baz.'
The LORD said to me, “Take a large tablet, and write on it with a man’s pen, ‘For Maher Shalal Hash Baz’;
2 Mangayabakto kadagiti napudno a tattao a mangpaneknek kaniak, ni Urias a padi, ken ni Zacarias a putot ni Jeberekias.”
and I will take for myself faithful witnesses to testify: Uriah the priest, and Zechariah the son of Jeberechiah.”
3 Napanak iti ayan ti babai a profeta ket nagsikog isuna ken nagpasngay iti maysa a lalaki. Ket kinuna ni Yahweh kaniak, “Panaganam isuna ti 'Maher Shalal Hash Baz.'
I went to the prophetess, and she conceived, and bore a son. Then the LORD said to me, “Call his name ‘Maher Shalal Hash Baz.’
4 Gapu ta sakbay pay a makabalikas ti ubing iti 'Amak' wenno 'Inak,' dagiti amin a kinabaknang ti Damasco ken ti nasamsam iti Samaria ket ipanawto ti ari ti Asiria.”
For before the child knows how to say, ‘My father’ and ‘My mother,’ the riches of Damascus and the plunder of Samaria will be carried away by the king of Assyria.”
5 Nagsao manen ni Yahweh kaniak,
The LORD spoke to me yet again, saying,
6 “Gapu ta pinagkedkedan dagitoy a tattao dagiti nainnayad a danum ti Siloe, ken maragsakanda kenni Rezin ken iti lalaki a putot ni Remalias,
“Because this people has refused the waters of Shiloah that go softly, and rejoice in Rezin and Remaliah’s son;
7 ngarud, dandanin nga iyeg ti Apo kadakuada dagiti danum iti Karayan, naranggas ken adu, ti ari ti Asiria ken ti amin a dayagna. Umadalemto amin a pagayusanna ken lapunosenna dagiti teppangna,
now therefore, behold, the Lord brings upon them the mighty flood waters of the River: the king of Assyria and all his glory. It will come up over all its channels, and go over all its banks.
8 ket agayusto nga agturong iti Juda, manglayusto ken agayusto agingga a madanonna ti tengngedmo. Sakupento ti nakaukrad a payyakna ti entero a dagam, Immanuel.”
It will sweep onward into Judah. It will overflow and pass through. It will reach even to the neck. The stretching out of its wings will fill the width of your land, O Immanuel.
9 Maburak-burakkayonto, dakayo a tattao. Dumngegkayo, dakayo amin nga adayo a pagillian: Agsaganakayo a makigubat ngem maburak-burakkayonto; agarmaskayo ngem maburak-burakkayonto.
Make an uproar, you peoples, and be broken in pieces! Listen, all you from far countries: dress for battle, and be shattered! Dress for battle, and be shattered!
10 Agpanggepkayo ngem saanto a maipatungpal daytoy; mangipaulogkayo iti bilin ngem saanto a maipatungpal, ta adda kadakami ti Dios.
Take counsel together, and it will be brought to nothing; speak the word, and it will not stand, for God is with us.”
11 Nagsao kaniak ni Yahweh, ket kasla la iniggamannak ti napigsa nga imana, ken binallaagannak a saanak a magna iti wagas dagitoy a tattao.
For the LORD spoke this to me with a strong hand, and instructed me not to walk in the way of this people, saying,
12 Saanmo nga ibaga a dakes a panggep dagiti aniaman nga ibagbaga dagitoy a tattao a dakes a panggep, saanmo a pagbutngan dagiti pagbutbutnganda, ket saanka nga agbutbuteng.
“Don’t call a conspiracy all that this people call a conspiracy. Don’t fear their threats or be terrorised.
13 Ni Yahweh a Mannakabalin-amin, dayawem isuna a kas nasantoan, agbutengka kenkuana, isuna ti rumbeng a pagbutngam.
The LORD of Hosts is who you must respect as holy. He is the one you must fear. He is the one you must dread.
14 Agbalinto isuna a santuario; ngem agbalinto isuna a bato a maitama kadakuada, ken dakkel a bato a pakaitibkolanda—kadagiti dua a balay ti Israel. Ken agbalinto isuna a silo ken palab-og kadagiti tattao ti Jerusalem.
He will be a sanctuary, but for both houses of Israel, he will be a stumbling stone and a rock that makes them fall. For the people of Jerusalem, he will be a trap and a snare.
15 Adunto iti maitibkol iti daytoy ket matumbada, marumekrumekda, ken masiluandanto ket matiliwda.
Many will stumble over it, fall, be broken, be snared, and be captured.”
16 Galutam ti pammaneknekko, selyoam ti kasuratan, ket itedmo kadagiti adalak.
Wrap up the covenant. Seal the law amongst my disciples.
17 Urayek ni Yahweh a nangilinged iti rupana manipud iti balay ni Jacob; urayek isuna.
I will wait for the LORD, who hides his face from the house of Jacob, and I will look for him.
18 Kitaem, siak ken dagiti annak nga inted kaniak ni Yahweh ket maipaay a pagilasinan ken nakaskasdaaw iti Israel manipud kenni Yahweh a Mannakabalin-amin nga agnanaed iti Bantay Sion.
Behold, I and the children whom the LORD has given me are for signs and for wonders in Israel from the LORD of Hosts, who dwells in Mount Zion.
19 Ibagadanto kadakayo, “Makiumankayo kadagiti makium-uman kadagiti espiritu ken salamangkero,” dagiti agar-arasaas ken agtaltalamitim. Ngem saan aya a rumbeng koma a makiuman dagiti tattao iti Diosda? Rumbeng kadi a makiumanda kadigiti natay nga agpaay kadagiti sibibiag?
When they tell you, “Consult with those who have familiar spirits and with the wizards, who chirp and who mutter,” shouldn’t a people consult with their God? Should they consult the dead on behalf of the living?
20 Isu a masapul nga ipangagyo ti linteg ken ti pammaneknek! No saanda nga ibaga dagitti kasta a banbanag, daytoy ket gapu ta awan iti lawag kadakuada.
Turn to the law and to the covenant! If they don’t speak according to this word, surely there is no morning for them.
21 Lumasatdanto iti daga a napnoan iti riribuk ken panagbisin. Inton agbisinda, makaungetdanto ken ilunoddanto ti ari ken ti Diosda kabayatan iti panagtangadda.
They will pass through it, very distressed and hungry. It will happen that when they are hungry, they will worry, and curse their king and their God. They will turn their faces upward,
22 Kumitadanto iti daga ket makitada dagiti pannakariribuk, kinasipnget, ken ti saem ti pannakaidadanes. Maiturongdanto iti daga ti kinasipnget.
then look to the earth and see distress, darkness, and the gloom of anguish. They will be driven into thick darkness.
