< Isaias 40 >

1 “Liwliwaenyo, liwliwaenyo dagiti tattaok,” kuna ti Diosyo.
“Comfort, comfort my people,” says your God.
2 Agsaokayo a naalumanay iti Jerusalem; ken ipakaammoyo kenkuana a naglippasen ti pannakigubatna, a napakawanen dagiti nagbasolanna, ta inawatnan manipud iti ima ni Yahweh iti namindua a daras ti supapak iti amin a basbasolna.
“Speak comfortably to Jerusalem, and call out to her that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is pardoned, that she has received of Yahweh’s hand double for all her sins.”
3 Maysa a timek ti agpukpukaw, “Iti let-ang, isaganayo ti dalan ni Yahweh; iti Araba, palintegenyo ti dalan nga agpaay iti Diostayo.”
The voice of one who calls out, “Prepare the way of Yahweh in the wilderness! Make a level highway in the desert for our God.
4 Tunggal tanap ket ngumatonto, ken tunggal bantay ken turod ket mapatad; ken dagiti likka-likkaong ken lasonglasong a daga ket mapatadto
Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low. The uneven shall be made level, and the rough places a plain.
5 ken ti dayag ni Yahweh ket maiparangarangto, ken sangsangkamaysanto a makita daytoy dagiti amin a tattao; ta insao daytoy ti ngiwat ni Yahweh.
Yahweh’s glory shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together; for the mouth of Yahweh has spoken it.”
6 Kuna ti maysa a timek, “Agsangitka.” Simmungbat ti maysa, “Ania ngay ti isangitak?” “Amin a lasag ket kasla ruot, ken ti kinapudnoda iti tulag ket kasla sabong iti tay-ak.
The voice of one saying, “Cry out!” One said, “What shall I cry?” “All flesh is like grass, and all its glory is like the flower of the field.
7 Magango dagiti ruot ken malaylay ti sabong no agpuyopoy ti anges ni Yahweh iti daytoy; pudno unay a ti sangkataoan ket kasla ruot.
The grass withers, the flower fades, because Yahweh’s breath blows on it. Surely the people are like grass.
8 Magango ti ruot, malaylay ti sabong ngem ti sao ti Dios ket mataginayon.”
The grass withers, the flower fades; but the word of our God stands forever.”
9 Sumang-atka iti tapaw ti nangato a bantay, O Sion a taga-iwaragawag iti naimbag a damag, ket ipukkawmo ti timekmo a buyogam ti pigsa; iwaragawagmo ti naimbag a damag iti Jerusalem. Ipukkawmo; saanka nga agbuteng. Ibagam kadagiti siudad ti Juda, “Adtoy ti Diosyo!”
You who tell good news to Zion, go up on a high mountain. You who tell good news to Jerusalem, lift up your voice with strength! Lift it up! Don’t be afraid! Say to the cities of Judah, “Behold, your God!”
10 Kitaem, um-ummay ti Apo a ni Yahweh a kas maysa a naballigi a mannakigubat, ken ti nabileg nga imana ti mangiturturay para kenkuana. Kitaem, adda kenkuana iti gungunana, ket umun-una kenkuana ti pagsupapakna.
Behold, the Lord Yahweh will come as a mighty one, and his arm will rule for him. Behold, his reward is with him, and his recompense before him.
11 Taraonanna ti arbanna a kas iti maysa nga agpapastor, ummongenna iti takkiagna dagiti urbon a karnero, ken awitenna ida iti asideg ti pusona, ken naannadnanto nga idauloan dagiti kabaian a karnero nga apaspasuso kadagiti urbonda.
He will feed his flock like a shepherd. He will gather the lambs in his arm, and carry them in his bosom. He will gently lead those who have their young.
12 Siasino ti nangsukat iti danum iti dakulap ti imana, nangrukod iti kinalawa ti tangatang, nangummong iti tapuk ti lubong iti maysa a basket, nangtimbang kadagiti banbantay wenno turturod iti pagtimbangan?
Who has measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, and marked off the sky with his span, and calculated the dust of the earth in a measuring basket, and weighed the mountains in scales, and the hills in a balance?
13 Siasino ti makaammo iti panunot ni Yahweh, wenno nangisuro kenkuana a kas mammagbagana?
Who has directed Yahweh’s Spirit, or has taught him as his counselor?
14 Adda kadin ti nangbalakad kenkuana? Siasino ti nangisuro kenkuana iti husto a wagas a mangaramid kadagiti banbanag, ken nangisuro kenkuana iti pannakaammo, wenno nangipakita kenkuana iti dalan ti pannakaawat?
Who did he take counsel with, and who instructed him, and taught him in the path of justice, and taught him knowledge, and showed him the way of understanding?
15 Kitaenyo, dagiti nasion ket maiyarig iti maysa a tedted iti timba, ken naibilang a kasla tapok iti pagtimbangan; kitaenyo, timtimbangenna dagiti puro a kasla mulit.
Behold, the nations are like a drop in a bucket, and are regarded as a speck of dust on a balance. Behold, he lifts up the islands like a very little thing.
16 Saan nga umdas a pagsungrod ti Lebanon, wenno dagiti atap nga ayup dagitoy ket saan nga umdas para iti daton a mapuoran.
Lebanon is not sufficient to burn, nor its animals sufficient for a burnt offering.
17 Amin a nasion ket saan nga umdas iti sangoananna; imbilangna ida nga awan serserbida.
All the nations are like nothing before him. They are regarded by him as less than nothing, and vanity.
18 Siasino ngarud ti pangipadisanyo iti Dios? Iti ania a didiosen ti pangipadaanyo kenkuana?
To whom then will you liken God? Or what likeness will you compare to him?
19 Iti maysa a didiosen! Sukogen daytoy ti maysa a dumidisenio; pakalupkopan daytoy ti mammanday iti balitok ken imontaranna iti pirak a kawar.
A workman has cast an image, and the goldsmith overlays it with gold, and casts silver chains for it.
20 Tapno mangidaton, mangpili isuna iti kayo a saan a bakbaken; agbirok isuna iti kumikitikit nga agaramid iti didiosen a saan a matuang.
He who is too impoverished for such an offering chooses a tree that will not rot. He seeks a skillful workman to set up a carved image for him that will not be moved.
21 Saanyo kadi a naammoan? Saanyo kadi a nangngeg? Saan kadi a naibaga kadakayo manipud idi punganay? Saanyo kadi a naawatan manipud iti pannaka-ipundasion iti lubong?
Haven’t you known? Haven’t you heard? Haven’t you been told from the beginning? Haven’t you understood from the foundations of the earth?
22 Isuna ti agtugtugaw iti ngatoen ti daga; ken dagiti agtataeng ket kasla kadagiti dudon iti sangoananna. Iyuk-ukradna dagiti langit a kasla kurtina ken iwarwarasna dagitoy a kas tolda a pagyanan.
It is he who sits above the circle of the earth, and its inhabitants are like grasshoppers; who stretches out the heavens like a curtain, and spreads them out like a tent to dwell in,
23 Pabassitenna dagiti mangiturturay ken ar-aramidenna ida nga awan pategda ditoy daga.
who brings princes to nothing, who makes the judges of the earth meaningless.
24 Kitaenyo, saanda unay a naimula; kitaenyo, saanda unay a naiwaris; kitaenyo, saanda unay a rimmamot iti daga, sakbay pay a puyotanna ida, ket aglaylaydan, ken itayab ida ti pul-oy ti angin a kasla arutang.
They are planted scarcely. They are sown scarcely. Their stock has scarcely taken root in the ground. He merely blows on them, and they wither, and the whirlwind takes them away as stubble.
25 “Siasino ngarud ti pangipadisanyo kaniak, siasino ti kalanglangak?” kuna ti Nasantoan a Dios.
“To whom then will you liken me? Who is my equal?” says the Holy One.
26 Tumangadkayo iti tangatang! Siasino ti nangparsua amin kadagitoy a bitbituen? Tinudinganna dagitoy kadagiti puestoda ken aw-awaganna amin ida iti naganda. Babaen iti kinatan-ok ti bilegna ken babaen iti pigsa ti pannakabalinna, awan ti uray maysa a mapukpukaw.
Lift up your eyes on high, and see who has created these, who brings out their army by number. He calls them all by name. By the greatness of his might, and because he is strong in power, not one is lacking.
27 Jacob, apay a kunaem, ken Israel, apay nga ipaduyakyakmo, “Nailinged kenni Yahweh ti dalanko, ken awan ti pakaseknan ti Diosko maipapan iti panangikalintegak?”
Why do you say, Jacob, and speak, Israel, “My way is hidden from Yahweh, and the justice due me is disregarded by my God”?
28 Saanyo kadi a naammoan? Saanyo kadi a nangngeg? Ti agnanayon a Dios a ni Yahweh, a Namarsua iti pagpatinggaan ti daga ket saan a mabannog wenno agkapsut; awan ti pagpatinggaan ti pannakaawatna.
Haven’t you known? Haven’t you heard? The everlasting God, Yahweh, the Creator of the ends of the earth, doesn’t faint. He isn’t weary. His understanding is unsearchable.
29 Pappapigsaenna dagiti nabannog; ken pabpabaroenna ti regget dagiti nakapuy.
He gives power to the weak. He increases the strength of him who has no might.
30 Uray dagiti agtutubo ket mabannog ken agkapuy, ken dagiti ubbing ket maitibkol ken maitublak;
Even the youths faint and get weary, and the young men utterly fall;
31 ngem dagiti agur-uray kenni Yahweh ket pabaroenda ti pigsada; agtayabda nga addaan iti payyak a kasla kadagiti agila; agtaraydanto ket saanda a mabannog; magnadanto ket saanda a matalimudaw.
but those who wait for Yahweh will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint.
