Isaias 36

1 Iti maikasangapulo ket uppat a tawen ni Ari Ezekias, rinaut ni Sennakerib nga ari ti Asiria ti am-amin a nasarikedkedan a siudad ti Juda ket sinakupna dagitoy.

Now it came to pass in the fourteenth year of king Hezekiah, that Sennacherib king of Assyria came up against all the fortified cities of Judah, and took them.

2 Kalpasanna, imbaon ti ari ti Asiria ti panguloen a mangidadaulo manipud iti Lakis a mapan kenni Ari Ezekias iti Jerusalem a kaduana ti adu nga armada. And the king of Assyria sent Rabshakeh from Lachish to Jerusalem to king Hezekiah with a great army. And he stood by the conduit of the upper pool in the highway of the fuller's field.

Then Eliakim the son of Hilkiah came forth to him, who was over the household, and Shebna the scribe, and Joah, the son of Asaph, the recorder.

4 Kinuna kadakuada ti panguloen a mangidadaulo, “Ibagayo kenni Ezekias a kastoy ti kuna ti natan-ok nga ari, ti ari ti Asiria, “Ania ti pagtataudan ti panagtalekmo?

And Rabshakeh said to them, Say ye now to Hezekiah, Thus says the great king, the king of Assyria: What confidence is this in which thou trust?

I say, thy counsel and strength for the war are but vain words. Now on whom do thou trust that thou have rebelled against me?

6 Kitaem, agtaltalekka iti Egipto, iti dayta a naparpar a runo nga us-usarem a kas sarukod, ngem no pagsammakedan daytoy ti maysa a tao, maitudok daytoy iti imana ket salputen daytoy ti imana. Kasta ti kaiyarigan ni Faraon nga ari ti Egipto iti siasinoman nga agtaltalek kenkuana.

Behold, thou trust upon the staff of this bruised reed, even upon Egypt, on which if a man leans, it will go into his hand, and pierce it. So is Pharaoh king of Egypt to all who trust on him.

7 Ngem no kunaem kaniak, “Agtaltalekkami kenni Yahweh a Diosmi,” saan kadi nga isuna ti akinkukua kadagiti disso a pagdaydayawan ken kadagiti altar nga inikkat ni Ezekias, ken ti nangibaga iti Juda ken Jerusalem, “Masapul nga agdayawkayo iti sangoanan daytoy nga altar iti Jerusalem”?

But if thou say to me, We trust in Jehovah our God. Is that not he whose high places and whose altars Hezekiah has taken away, and has said to Judah and to Jerusalem, Ye shall worship before this altar?

8 Ita ngarud, adda isingasingko kenka manipud iti apok nga ari ti Asiria. Ikkanka iti dua a ribu a kabalio no makabirokka kadagiti agsakay kadagitoy.

Now therefore, I pray thee, give pledges to my master the king of Assyria, and I will give thee two thousand horses, if thou be able on thy part to set riders upon them.

9 Kasanom a sarangten ti uray maysa a kapitan dagiti kababassitan kadagiti adipen ti apok? Nagtalekka iti Egipto nga ikkannaka kadagiti karwahe ken kadagiti kumakabalio!

How then can thou turn away the face of one captain of the least of my master's servants, and put thy trust on Egypt for chariots and for horsemen?

10 Ita ngarud, simmang-atak kadi ditoy a saanko a kadua ni Yahweh a manggubat iti daytoy a daga ken mangdadael iti daytoy? Kinuna ni Yahweh kaniak, “Rautem daytoy a daga ket dadaelem.””

And have I now come up without Jehovah against this land to destroy it? Jehovah said to me, Go up against this land, and destroy it.

11 Kalpasanna, kinuna ni Eliakim a putot a lalaki ni Hilkias, da Sebna ken Joa iti panguloen a mangidadaulo, “Pangngaasim ta agsaoka kadakami nga adipenmo iti pagsasao ti Arameo nga Aramaic, ta maawatanmi daytoy. Saanka a makisarita kadakami iti pagsasao ti Juda a mangmangngeg dagiti tattao nga adda iti rabaw ti pader.”

Then Eliakim and Shebna and Joah said to Rabshakeh, Speak, I pray thee, to thy servants in the Syrian language, for we understand it. And speak not to us in the Jews' language, in the ears of the people who are on the wall.

12 Ngem kinuna ti panguloen a mangidadaulo, “Imbaonnak kadi ti apok iti apoyo ken kadakayo tapno ibaga dagitoy a sasao? Saan kadi nga imbaonnak kadagiti tattao nga agtugtugaw iti rabaw ti pader, a kadduayonto a mangan kadagiti takkida ken uminom kadagiti isboda?

But Rabshakeh said, Has my master sent me to thy master, and to thee, to speak these words, and not to the men who sit upon the wall, to eat their own dung, and to drink their own urine with you?

13 Ket nagtakder ti panguloen a mangidadaulo ket impukkawna iti pagsasao dagiti Judio a kunana, “Denggenyo dagiti sasao ti natan-ok nga ari, ti ari ti Asiria.

Then Rabshakeh stood, and cried with a loud voice in the Jews' language, and said, Hear ye the words of the great king, the king of Assyria.

14 Kuna ti ari, 'Saanyo nga ipalubos nga allilawennakayo ni Ezekias, ta saannakayonto a maispal.

Thus says the king, Let not Hezekiah deceive you, for he will not be able to deliver you.

15 Saanyo nga ipalubos a pagtalkennakayo kenni Yahweh, a kunana, “Awan duadua nga ispalennatayonto ni Yahweh; saan a maiyawat daytoy a siudad iti ari ti Asiria.”'

Neither let Hezekiah make you trust in Jehovah, saying, Jehovah will surely deliver us. This city shall not be given into the hand of the king of Assyria.

16 Saanyo a denggen ni Ezekias, ta kastoy ti kuna ti ari ti Asiria: 'Makikappiakayo kaniak ket rummuarkayo a mapan kaniak. Ket ti tunggal maysa kadakayo ket mangan iti bukodna nga ubas ken iti bukodna nga igos ken uminum iti danum manipud iti bukodna a bubon.

Hearken not to Hezekiah. For thus says the king of Assyria, Make your peace with me, and come out to me, and eat ye everyone of his vine, and everyone of his fig tree, and drink ye everyone the waters of his own cistern,

17 Aramidenyo daytoy agingga nga umayak ket ipankayo iti maysa a daga a kas iti bukodyo a daga, daga iti bukbukel ken baro nga arak, daga iti tinapay ken kaubasan.’

until I come and take you away to a land like your own land, a land of grain and new wine, a land of bread and vineyards.

18 Saanyo nga ipalubos nga iyaw-awannakayo ni Ezekias, a kunana, ‘Ispalennatayonto ni Yahweh.' Adda kadi ti uray siasino kadagiti dios dagiti tattao ti nangispal kadakuada manipud iti pannakabalin ti ari ti Asiria?

Beware lest Hezekiah persuade you, saying, Jehovah will deliver us. Has any of the gods of the nations delivered his land out of the hand of the king of Assyria?

19 Sadino ti ayan dagiti dios ti Hamat ken Arpad? Sadino ti ayan dagiti dios ti Sefarvaim? Naispalda kadi ti Samaria manipud iti pannakabalinko?

Where are the gods of Hamath and Arpad? Where are the gods of Sepharvaim? And have they delivered Samaria out of my hand?

20 Kadagiti amin a dios dagitoy a daga, adda kadi ti uray siasino a dios a nakaispal iti dagana manipud iti pannakabalinko, a kasla maisalakan met ni Yahweh ti Jerusalem manipud iti bilegko?”

Who are they among all the gods of these countries that have delivered their country out of my hand, that Jehovah should deliver Jerusalem out of my hand?

21 Ngem nagtalinaed a naulimek dagiti tattao ket saanda a simmungbat, ta ti bilin ti ari ket, “Saanyo a sungsungbatan isuna.”

But they held their peace, and answered him not a word. For the king's commandment was, saying, Answer him not.

22 Kalpasanna, ni Eliakim a putot ni Hilkias, a mangimatmaton iti palasio, ni Sebna nga eskriba, ken ni Joa a putot ni Asaf, nga agisursurat, napanda kenni Ezekias a naray-ab dagiti kawesda ket imbagada kenkuana dagiti sasao ti panguloen a mangidadaulo.

Then Eliakim the son of Hilkiah came, who was over the household, and Shebna the scribe, and Joah, the son of Asaph, the recorder, to Hezekiah with their clothes torn, and told him the words of Rabshakeh.
