Isaias 20

1 Iti tawen nga immay ni Tartan idiay Asdod, idi imbaon isuna ni Sargon nga ari ti Asiria, nakiranget isuna iti Asdod ket sinakupna daytoy.

In the year that Tartan entered Ashdod, when Sargon king of Assyria, sent him, —and he fought against Ashdod and captured it, —

2 Iti dayta a tiempo, nagsao ni Yahweh babaen kenni Isaias a putot ni Amos a kinunana, “Mapanka ket ikkatem ti nakersang a lupot iti siketmo ken ikkatem dagita sandaliasmo.” Kasta ngarud ti inaramidna, nagnagna a lamolamo ken sakasaka.

At that time, spake Yahweh, through Isaiah son of Amoz, saying, Go, and loose the sackcloth from off thy loins, And thy sandal, draw thou off from thy foot, —And he did so, walking disrobed and barefoot.

3 Kinuna ni Yahweh, “Kas iti adipenko a ni Isaias a nagna a lamolamo ken sakasaka iti las-ud ti tallo a tawen, pagilasinan ken ballaag daytoy maipapan iti Egipto ken maipapan ti Etiopia-

Then said Yahweh, —As my servant Isaiah, hath walked, disrobed and barefoot three years as a sign and a wonder against Egypt and against Ethiopia,

4 iti kastoy a wagas nga ipanawto ti ari ti Asiria dagiti natiliw a kas balud a taga-Egipto ken dagiti naipanaw a kas balud a taga-Etiopia, ubing ken nataengan, lamolamo ken sakasaka ken saan a naabbongan dagiti patongda, a pakaibabainan ti Egipto.

So, shall the king of Assyria lead away the captives of Egypt and the exiles of Ethiopia young and old disrobed and barefoot, with their persons behind Uncovered the shame of Egypt.

5 Maupay ken maibabaindanto, gapu ta ti Etiopia ti namnamada ken ti Egipto ti dayagda.

Thus shall they be confounded and turn pale, —For Ethiopia, their expectation, and For Egypt their boast;

6 Dagiti agnanaed kadagitoy nga igid ti baybay ket ibagadanto iti dayta nga aldaw, 'Pudno, daytoy ti nagtaudan ti namnamatayo, a nagkamangantayo tapno maispaltayo manipud iti Ari ti Asiria, ket ita, kasanotayo ngay a makalibas?’”

And the inhabitant of this shore, shall exclaim, in that day, Lo! such, is our expectation, whereunto we fled for help, that we might be delivered from the presence of the king of Assyria! How then shall, we, escape?
