< Oseas 12 >
1 Mapakpakan ti Efraim iti angin ken sumursurot iti angin ti daya. Agtultuloy a papaaduenna ti kinaulbod ken kinaranggas. Makitulagda iti Asiria ken mangipanda kadagiti lana iti olibo idiay Egipto.
Ephraim feeds on wind, and chases the east wind. He continually multiplies lies and desolation. They make a covenant with Assyria, and oil is carried into Egypt.
2 Adda pay pammabasol ni Yahweh a maibusor iti Juda ken dusaennanto ni Jacob gapu iti inaramidna; singirennanto isuna gapu kadagiti aramidna.
The LORD also has a controversy with Judah, and will punish Jacob according to his ways; according to his deeds he will repay him.
3 Iti aanakan, iniggaman ni Jacob ti mukod ti kabsatna, ken iti kinaagtutubona ket nakigubal isuna iti Dios.
In the womb he took his brother by the heel, and in his manhood he contended with God.
4 Nakigubal isuna iti anghel ket nagballigi isuna. Nagsangit ken nagpakaasi iti paraburna. Nasarakanna ti Dios idiay Betel; ket sadiay, nakisao ti Dios kenkuana.
Indeed, he struggled with the angel, and prevailed; he wept, and made supplication to him. He found him at Bethel, and there he spoke with us—
5 Daytoy ni Yahweh, ti Dios a Mannakabalin-amin; “Yahweh” ti maiyawag a naganna.
even the LORD, the God of Hosts. The LORD is his name of renown!
6 Isu nga agsublikayo iti Diosyo. Tungpalenyo ti kinapudno ti tulagna ken ti hustisia, ken agtultuloykayo nga aguray iti Diosyo.
Therefore turn to your God. Keep kindness and justice, and wait continually for your God.
7 Addaan dagiti aglaklako iti nakusit a timbangan kadagiti imada; pagay-ayatda ti agkusit.
A merchant has dishonest scales in his hand. He loves to defraud.
8 Kinuna ti Efraim, “Awan duadua a nagbalinakon a nakabakbaknang; nakasarakak ti kinabaknang. Kadagiti amin a trabahok awan ti masarakanda nga aniaman a basol kaniak, aniaman a banag a basol.”
Ephraim said, “Surely I have become rich. I have found myself wealth. In all my wealth they won’t find in me any iniquity that is sin.”
9 “Siak ni Yahweh a Diosyo, nga adda kadakayo manipud pay idiay daga ti Egipto. Pagnaedenkayonto manen kadagiti tolda, a kas kadagiti aldaw ti naituding a fiesta.
“But I am the LORD your God from the land of Egypt. I will yet again make you dwell in tents, as in the days of the solemn feast.
10 Nagsaoak met kadagiti profeta ket inikkak ida iti adu a sirmata para kadakayo. Inikkankayo kadagiti pangngarig babaen kadagiti profeta.”
I have also spoken to the prophets, and I have multiplied visions; and by the ministry of the prophets I have used parables.
11 No adda ti kinadangkes idiay Galaad, sigurado nga awan serserbi dagiti tattao. Idiay Gilgal, agidatonda kadagiti bulog a baka; maiyarigto dagiti altarda kadagiti gabsuon ti bato iti tengnga dagiti talon.
If Gilead is wicked, surely they are worthless. In Gilgal they sacrifice bulls. Indeed, their altars are like heaps in the furrows of the field.
12 Nagkamang ni Jacob iti daga ti Aram; nagtrabaho ni Israel tapno maaddaan iti asawa; ken nagpastor isuna kadagiti arban dagiti karnero tapno maaddaan iti asawa.
Jacob fled into the country of Aram. Israel served to get a wife. For a wife he tended flocks and herds.
13 Inruar ni Yahweh ti Israel manipud idiay Egipto babaen iti maysa a profeta, ket babaen iti maysa a profeta, inaywananna ida.
By a prophet the LORD brought Israel up out of Egypt, and by a prophet he was preserved.
14 Sisasaem a pinagpungtot ti Efraim ni Yahweh. Isu nga ibatinto ti Apona kenkuana ti basol ti darana ket pagbayadennanto isuna kadagiti nakababain nga aramidna.
Ephraim has bitterly provoked anger. Therefore his blood will be left on him, and his Lord will repay his contempt.
