< Ester 5 >
1 Kalpasan iti tallo nga aldaw, inkawes ni Ester ti pagan-anayna kas reyna ken napan nagtakder iti akin uneg a paraangan ti palasio ti ari, iti sangoanan iti balay ti ari. Nakatugaw ti ari iti tronona iti balayna, a nakasango iti pagserkan iti balay.
Now on the third day, Esther put on her royal clothing and stood in the inner court of the king’s house, next to the king’s house. The king sat on his royal throne in the royal house, next to the entrance of the house.
2 Idi nakita ti ari a nakatakder ni reyna Ester iti paraangan, naay-ayo ti ari kenkuana. Impaturongna kenni Ester ti balitok a setro nga adda iti imana. Immasideg ngarud ni Ester ket sinagidna ti murdong ti setro.
When the king saw Esther the queen standing in the court, she obtained favor in his sight; and the king held out to Esther the golden scepter that was in his hand. So Esther came near and touched the top of the scepter.
3 Ket kinuna ti ari kenkuana, “Ania iti kayatmo, Reyna Ester? Ania iti kiddawem? Agingga iti kagudua ti pagariak, ket maipaayto kenka.”
Then the king asked her, “What would you like, queen Esther? What is your request? It shall be given you even to the half of the kingdom.”
4 Kinuna ni Ester, “No makaay-ayo daytoy iti ari, umay koma ita nga aldaw ti ari ken ni Haman iti padaya nga insaganak para iti ari.”
Esther said, “If it seems good to the king, let the king and Haman come today to the banquet that I have prepared for him.”
5 Ket kinuna ti ari, “Iyegyo a dagus ni Haman, tapno maaramid ti imbaga ni Ester.” Napan ngarud ti ari ken ni Haman iti padaya nga insagana ni Ester.
Then the king said, “Bring Haman quickly, so that it may be done as Esther has said.” So the king and Haman came to the banquet that Esther had prepared.
6 Idi naidasaren ti arak iti padaya, kinuna ti ari kenni Ester, “Ania ti dawatem? Maipaay daytoy kenka. Ania iti kiddawem? Agingga iti kaguddua ti pagarian, maipaayto kenka.”
The king said to Esther at the banquet of wine, “What is your petition? It shall be granted you. What is your request? Even to the half of the kingdom it shall be performed.”
7 Simmungbat ni Ester, “Ti dawat ken kiddawko ket daytoy,
Then Esther answered and said, “My petition and my request is this.
8 no makasarakak iti pabor iti imatang ti ari, ken no maay-ayo ti ari a mangipaay iti dawatek ken padayawanna ti kiddawek. Umay koma ti ari ken ni Haman iti padaya nga isaganakto para kadakayo inton bigat, ket sungbatakto ti saludsod ti ari.”
If I have found favor in the sight of the king, and if it pleases the king to grant my petition and to perform my request, let the king and Haman come to the banquet that I will prepare for them, and I will do tomorrow as the king has said.”
9 Rimmuar ni Haman iti dayta nga aldaw a naragsak ken agragrag-o iti pusona. Ngem idi nakita ni Haman ni Mardokeo iti ruangan ti palasio ti ari a saan man laeng a timmakder wenno nagkentayeg iti sangoananna nga addaan iti panagbuteng, napnoan isuna iti gura a maibusor kenni Mardokeo.
Then Haman went out that day joyful and glad of heart, but when Haman saw Mordecai in the king’s gate, that he didn’t stand up nor move for him, he was filled with wrath against Mordecai.
10 Nupay kasta, nagteppel ni Haman ket nagawid iti balayna. Inayabanna dagiti gagayyemna ket naguummongda, a kaduada ni Zeres nga asawana.
Nevertheless Haman restrained himself, and went home. There, he sent and called for his friends and Zeresh his wife.
11 Imbinsa-binsa ni Haman kadakuada ti kinadayag dagiti kinabaknangna ken ti bilang dagiti adu a putotna a lallaki, no kasano a nangat-ngato isuna kadagiti amin nga opisial ken kadagiti adipen ti ari.
Haman recounted to them the glory of his riches, the multitude of his children, all the things in which the king had promoted him, and how he had advanced him above the princes and servants of the king.
12 Kinuna ni Haman, “Uray ni Reyna Ester ket awan ti sabali nga inawisna no di laeng siak a kadua ti ari a napan timmabuno iti padaya nga insaganana. Ken uray inton bigat inawisnak manen a kadua ti ari.
Haman also said, “Yes, Esther the queen let no man come in with the king to the banquet that she had prepared but myself; and tomorrow I am also invited by her together with the king.
13 Ngem amin dagitoy a mapadpadasak ket awan serserbina kaniak, agingga a makitkitak ti Judio a ni Mardokeo a nakatugaw iti ruangan ti palasio ti ari.”
Yet all this avails me nothing, so long as I see Mordecai the Jew sitting at the king’s gate.”
14 Ket kinuna ni Zeres nga asawana kenni Haman ken kadagiti amin a gagayyemna, “Mangpaaramidkayo kadakuada iti pagbitayan a limapulo a kubit ti kangatona. Inton bigat katungtongenyo ti ari a bitayenda ni Mardokeo iti daytoy. Ket mapanka a siraragsak a kadua ti ari iti padaya.” Naay-ayo ni Haman iti daytoy, ket impaaramidna ngarud ti pagbitayan.
Then Zeresh his wife and all his friends said to him, “Let a gallows be made fifty cubits high, and in the morning speak to the king about hanging Mordecai on it. Then go in merrily with the king to the banquet.” This pleased Haman, so he had the gallows made.
