< Ester 3 >
1 Kalpasan dagitoy a banbanag, impangato ni Ari Ahasuero ti saad ni Haman a putot ni Hamedata nga Agagita, ket naisaad ti turayna a nangatngato ngem kadagiti amin nga opisial a kaduana.
After these things has King Ahasuerus exalted Haman son of Hammedatha the Agagite, and lifts him up, and sets his throne above all the heads who [are] with him,
2 Dagiti amin nga adipen iti ari nga adda iti ruangan ti palasio ti ari ket kankanayon nga agparintumeng ken agpakleb iti sangoanan ni Haman, kas iti imbilin ti ari nga aramidenda. Ngem saan a nagparitumeng wenno nagpakleb ni Mardokeo.
and all servants of the king, who [are] in the gate of the king, are bowing and doing homage to Haman, for so the king has commanded for him; and Mordecai does not bow nor pay respect.
3 Ket kinuna dagiti adipen ti ari nga adda iti ruangan ti palasio ti ari kenni Mardokeo, “Apay a salsalungasingem ti bilin iti ari?”
And the servants of the king, who [are] in the gate of the king, say to Mordecai, “Why [are] you transgressing the command of the king?”
4 Inaldaw-aldaw a katkatungtungenda isuna, ngem nagkedked isuna nga agtulnog iti kalikagumda. Isu a nakitungtongda kenni Haman tapno makita no agtalinaed latta ti banag maipanggep kenni Mardokeo, ta imbagana kadakuada nga isuna ket maysa a Judio.
And it comes to pass, in their speaking to him, day by day, and he has not listened to them, that they declare [it] to Haman, to see whether the words of Mordecai stand, for he has declared to them that he [is] a Jew.
5 Idi nakita ni Haman a saan a nagparintumeng ken nagtamed ni Mardokeo kenkuana, nakapungtot ni Haman.
And Haman sees that Mordecai is not bowing and doing homage to him, and Haman is full of fury,
6 Kinagurana ti kapanunutan a ni Mardokeo laeng ti mapapatay, ta imbaga dagiti adipen ti ari no siasino dagiti tattao ni Mardokeo. Kayat ni Haman a mapukaw dagiti amin a Judio, dagiti tattao ni Mardokeo, nga adda iti entero a pagarian ni Ahasuero.
and it is contemptible in his eyes to put forth a hand on Mordecai by himself, for they have declared to him the people of Mordecai, and Haman seeks to destroy all the Jews who [are] in all the kingdom of Ahasuerus—the people of Mordecai.
7 Iti umuna a bulan (a bulan ti Nisan), iti maikasangapulo ket dua a tawen ni Ari Ahasuero, adda iti nangipuruak iti Pur—dayta ket nagbibinnunotda—iti sangoanan ni Haman—binnunotan para iti tunggal aldaw ken bulan, tapno makapilida ti aldaw ken bulan— agingga a napilida ti maikasangapulo ket dua a bulan (ti bulan iti Adar).
In the first month—it [is] the month of Nisan—in the twelfth year of King Ahasuerus, has one caused to fall Pur (that [is] the lot) before Haman, from day to day, and from month to month, [to] the twelfth, it [is] the month of Adar.
8 Ket kinuna ni Haman kenni Ari Ahasuero, “Adda iti bunggoy dagiti tattao a naiwaras ken naibunong kadagiti amin a probinsia iti pagariam. Dagiti lintegda ket naidumduma kadagiti sabali a tattao, ket saanda a salsaluadan dagiti linteg ti ari, isu a saan a maiparbeng a palubosan ida iti ari nga agtalinaed.
And Haman says to King Ahasuerus, “There is one people scattered and separated among the peoples, in all provinces of your kingdom, and their laws [are] diverse from all people, and the laws of the king they are not doing, and for the king it is not profitable to permit them;
9 No makaay-ayo daytoy iti ari, mangitedka iti bilin a papatayen isuda, ket mangtimbangak iti sangapulo a ribo a talento ti pirak a maipaima kadagidiay mangay-aywan kadagiti sanikua ti ari, tapno ikabilda daytoy iti pangiduldulinan ti kinabaknang ti ari.”
if to the king [it be] good, let it be written to destroy them, and ten thousand talents of silver I weigh into the hands of those doing the work, to bring [it] into the treasuries of the king.”
10 Ket inuksot ti ari iti pagtatak a singsing manipud iti imana ket intedna daytoy kenni Haman a putot ni Hamedata nga Agagita, a kabusor dagiti Judio.
And the king turns aside his signet from off his hand, and gives it to Haman son of Hammedatha the Agagite, adversary of the Jews;
11 Kinuna ti ari kenni Haman, “Kitaekto a maisubli kenka ken kadagiti tattaom ti kuarta. Aramidemto ti aniaman a kalikagummo iti daytoy.”
and the king says to Haman, “The silver is given to you, and the people, to do with it as [it is] good in your eyes.”
12 Ket napaayaban dagiti eskriba ti ari iti maikasangapulo ket tallo nga aldaw ti umuna a bulan, ket ti linteg a naglaon kadagiti amin nga imbilin ni Haman ket naisurat para kadagiti gobernador dagiti probinsia ti ari, dagidiay nga adda iti amin a probinsia, kadagiti gobernador iti nadumaduma a tattao, ken kadagiti opisial dagiti amin a tattao, iti tumunggal probinsia iti bukodda a pannurat, ken iti tumunggal tattao iti bukodda a pagsasao. Naisurat daytoy iti nagan ni Ari Ahasuero ken napasingkedan babaen iti singsingna.
And scribes of the king are called, on the first month, on the thirteenth day of it, and it is written according to all that Haman has commanded, to lieutenants of the king, and to the governors who [are] over province and province, and to the heads of people and people, province and province, according to its writing, and people and people according to its tongue, in the name of King Ahasuerus it has been written and sealed with the signet of the king,
13 Dagiti kasuratan ket naipatulod ken naiyawat kadagiti amin a probinsia iti ari, tapno pukawen, papatayen, ken dadaelen amin dagiti Judio, manipud iti kaubingan agingga iti kalakayan, ubbing ken babbai, iti maysa nga aldaw—iti maikasangapulo ket tallo nga aldaw iti maikasangapulo ket dua a bulan (a bulan ti Adar) —ken tapno samsamenda dagiti sanikuada.
and letters to be sent by the hand of the runners to all provinces of the king, to cut off, to slay, and to destroy all the Jews, from young even to old, infant and women, on one day, on the thirteenth of the twelfth month—it [is] the month of Adar—and to seize their spoil,
14 Ti kopya ti surat ket naaramid a linteg iti tunggal probinsia. Naipakaamo kadagiti amin a tattao iti tunggal probinsia a nasken nga agsaganada para iti daytoy nga aldaw.
a copy of the writing to be made law in each and every province is revealed to all the peoples, to be ready for this day.
15 Rimuar ken nagap-apura dagiti mensahero a nangiwaras iti bilin ti ari. Naiwaras met ti bilin iti palasio ti Susa. Nagtugaw nga agin-inum ti ari ken ni Haman, ngem mariribukan ti siudad ti Susa.
The runners have gone forth, hurried by the word of the king, and the law has been given in Shushan the palace, and the king and Haman have sat down to drink, and the city Shushan is perplexed.
