< Deuteronomio 25 >
1 No adda ti riri iti nagbaetan dagiti tattao ket mapanda iti pangukoman, ket ukomen ida dagiti ukom, ket bulosandanto ti nalinteg ken dusaenda ti nadangkes.
“When there is a strife between men, and they have come near to the judgment, and they have judged, and declared righteous the righteous, and declared wrong the wrongdoer,
2 No maikari a masaplit ti nakabasol a tao, ket pagpakleben ti ukom isuna ket masaplit iti imatangna segun iti naibilin a bilang dagiti saplit, a kas iti krimen a naaramidna.
then it has come to pass, if the wrongdoer is to be struck, that the judge has caused him to fall down, and [one] has struck him in his presence, according to the sufficiency of his wrongdoing, by number;
3 Mabalin a saplitan isuna ti ukom iti uppat a pulo, ngem saanna a surokan dayta a bilang, ta no surokanna dayta a bilang ket saplitanna iti ad-adu pay a saplit, ket maibabainto ti padayo nga Israelita iti panagkitayo.
he strikes him forty [times]; he is not adding, lest he is adding to strike him above these many stripes, and your brother be lightly esteemed in your eyes.
4 Nasken a saanyo a busalan ti baka no badde-baddekanna ti dawa.
You do not muzzle an ox in its threshing.
5 No agkabbalay ti agkabsat ket natay ti maysa kadakuada, nga awanan ti anak a lalaki, nasken a saan a makiasawa ti asawa ti natay a lalaki iti sabali a tao a saan a kameng ti pamilia. Ngem ketdi, nasken a makikaidda ti kabsat ti asawana kenkuana ket asawaenna, ken aramidenna ti pagrebbengan ti kabsatna a kas asawa kenkuana.
When brothers dwell together, and one of them has died and has no son, the wife of the dead is not given to a strange man; her husband’s brother goes in to her, and has taken her to him for a wife, and performs the duty of her husband’s brother;
6 Daytoy ket tapno ti umuna nga anak nga ipasngayna ti mangtawidto iti nagan ti natay a kabsatna, tapno saan a mapukaw ti naganna manipud iti Israel.
and it has been, the firstborn which she bears rises for the name of his dead brother, and his name is not wiped away out of Israel.
7 Ngem no saan a tarigagayan ti lalaki nga asawaen ti asawa ti kabsatna, nasken ngarud a sumang-at ti asawa ti kabsatna iti ruangan a paguk-ukoman dagiti panglakayen ket ibagana, 'Nagkedked ti kabsat ti asawak a mangbangon iti nagan para iti kabsatna iti Israel; saanna a kayat nga aramiden kaniak ti pagrebbengan ti maysa a kabsat ti asawa a lalaki.'
And if the man does not delight to take his brother’s wife, then his brother’s wife has gone up to the gate, to the elderly, and said, My husband’s brother is refusing to raise up a name for his brother in Israel; he has not been willing to perform the duty of my husband’s brother;
8 Ket nasken a paayaban isuna dagiti panglakayen iti siudadna ket kasaritadanto isuna. Ngem kas pangarigan no ipilpilitna ket ibagbagana, 'Saanko a tartarigagayan nga asawaen ti babai.'
and [the] elderly of his city have called for him, and spoken to him, and he has stood and said, I have no desire to take her.
9 Ket nasken a sumang-at nga umasideg kenkuana iti asawa ti kabsatna iti sangoanan dagiti panglakayen, ikkatenna ti sandaliasna, ket tupraanna ti rupana. Nasken a sungbatanna isuna ket kunana, 'Dayta ti mapasamak iti lalaki a saan a mangitakder iti balay ti kabsatna.'
Then his brother’s wife has drawn near to him before the eyes of the elderly, and drawn his shoe from off his foot, and spat in his face, and answered and said, Thus it is done to the man who does not build up the house of his brother;
10 Maawaganto ti naganna iti Israel, 'Ti pagtaengan ti lalaki a nauksot ti sandaliasna.'
and his name has been called in Israel, The house of him whose shoe is drawn off.
11 No agaapa dagiti lallaki, ket umasideg ti asawa ti maysa tapno isalakanna ti asawana iti ima ti nangkabil kenkuana, ket no iyunnatna ti imana ken alaenna ti mabagbagi ti lalaki,
When men strive together with one another, and the wife of one has drawn near to deliver her husband out of the hand of his striker, and has put forth her hand, and laid hold on his private parts,
12 ket nasken a putdenyo ti ima ti babai; nasken a saan a kaasian ti matayo.
then you have cut off her hand; your eye does not spare.
13 Nasken nga awan ti agduduma a timbangan iti pagkargaanyo, maysa a dakkel ken maysa a bassit.
You do not have [both] a great stone and a small stone in your bag.
14 Nasken nga awan ti agduduma a pagsukatan iti pagtaenganyo, maysa a dakkel ken maysa a bassit.
You do not have a great ephah and a small ephah in your house.
15 Nasken nga agpag-isu ken nalinteg ti pagtimbangan nga adda kadakayo; nasken nga apag-isu ken nalinteg ti pagsukatan nga adda kadakayo, tapno umatiddog dagiti al-aldawyo iti daga nga it-ited ni Yahweh kadakayo.
You have a complete and just stone, [and] you have a complete and just ephah, so that they prolong your days on the ground which your God YHWH is giving to you;
16 Ta amin nga agar-aramid iti kasta a banbanag, amin nga agtigtignay a saan a nalinteg, ket makarimon a banag kenni Yahweh a Diosyo.
for anyone doing these things, anyone doing iniquity, [is] an abomination [to] your God YHWH.
17 Lagipenyo ti inaramid dagiti Amalekita kadakayo iti dalan iti iruruaryo iti Egipto,
Remember that which Amalek has done to you in the way in your going out from Egypt,
18 no kasano a sinabatdakayo iti dalan ken dinarupda dagiti adda iti likudanyo, dagiti amin nga agkakapoy iti likodanyo, idi natalimudaw ken nabannogkayo; saanda a rinaem ti Dios.
that he has met you in the way, and strikes among you all those feeble behind you (when you [were] weary and fatigued), and is not fearing God.
19 Ngarud, inton paginanaennakayo ni Yahweh a Diosyo manipud kadagiti amin a kabusoryo iti aglawlaw, iti daga nga it-ited ni Yahweh a Diosyo kadakayo a tagikuaen a kas tawid, nasken a saanyo a liplipatan a punasen iti pakalaglagipan dagiti Amalekita manipud ti babaen ti langit.
And it has been, in your God YHWH giving rest to you from all your surrounding enemies, in the land which your God YHWH is giving to you [for] an inheritance to possess it, you blot out the remembrance of Amalek from under the heavens—you do not forget.”
