< Deuteronomio 18 >

1 Dagiti papadi a Levita, ken amin a tribu ni Levi, awanto ti bingay wenno awanto ti tawidda iti Israel; masapul a kanendanto dagiti datdaton kenni Yahweh a naaramid iti apuy a kas isu ti tawidda.
The Levitical priests, in fact the whole tribe of Levi, will not have a share in the land allotment with the other Israelites. They are to eat from the food offerings presented to the Lord—that is what they are entitled to receive.
2 Masapul nga awan iti tawidda kadagiti kakabsatda; ni Yahweh ti tawidda a kas kinunana kadakuada.
While they don't own land among the other tribes, the Lord takes care of them, as he promised.
3 Karbenganto daytoy dagiti papadi manipud kadagiti tattao, manipud kadagiti mangisagut iti daton, baka man daytoy wenno karnero; masapul nga itedda iti padi ti abaga, dagiti dua a pingping ken dagiti naguneg.
The priests' share of a sacrifice of a bull or a sheep that is brought by the people is as follows. The priests are to be given the shoulder, the jaw, and the insides.
4 Dagiti umuna a bunga dagiti bukelmo, ti baro nga arakmo, ken ti lanam, dagiti umuna a dutdot dagiti karnerom, masapul nga itedmo kenkuana.
You are to provide them with the firstfruits of your grain, new wine, and olive oil, as well as the first wool sheared from your flock.
5 Ta pinili isuna ni Yahweh a Diosmo kadagiti amin a tribuyo a tumakder nga agserbi iti nagan ni Yahweh, isuna ken dagiti annakna iti agnanayon.
For the Lord your God has chosen Levi and his descendants from all your tribes to stand before him and serve in his name forever.
6 No umay ti maysa a Levita manipud kadagiti aniaman kadagiti il-iliyo iti amin nga Israel manipud iti pagnanaedanna, ket tarigagayanna iti amin a kararuana nga umay iti disso a piliento ni Yahweh,
If a Levite is convinced he should move from any Israelite town and goes to the place the Lord will choose,
7 ket masapul ngarud nga agserbi isuna iti nagan ni Yahweh a Diosna kas ar-aramiden dagiti kakabsatna a Levita, nga agtaktakder idiay iti sangoanan ni Yahweh.
then he shall be allowed to serve in the name of the Lord his God like all his fellow Levites who stand there in service before the Lord.
8 Masapul nga agpada iti bingay a kanen, malaksid pay ti aggapu iti paglakoan a tawid ti pamiliana.
They will all receive the same food allowances, despite him having received money from the sale of his father's property.
9 Inton makadanonkayo iti daga nga it-ited kadakayo ni Yahweh a Diosyo, masapul a saanyo a sursuroen nga aramiden dagiti makarimon a banbang dagitoy a nasion,
Once you enter the country the Lord your God is giving you, don't copy the offensive ways of the nations there.
10 Masapul nga awan iti siasinoman a masarakan kadakayo a mangipalasat iti apuy ti anakna a lalaki wenno ti anakna a babai, siasinoman a mangus-usar iti panagpadles, siasinoman a mangar-aramid iti panagbuyon, wenno siasinoman a managsalamangka, wenno aniaman a managanito,
There should be no one who sacrifices their son or daughter in the fire, practices divination or fortune-telling, uses magic or sorcery,
11 aniaman a manangilabeg, siasinoman a makisao iti natay, wenno siasinoman a makisao kadagiti espiritu.
practices witchcraft, visits a medium or spiritist, or communicates with the dead. Anyone does such things offends the Lord.
12 Ta siasinoman a mangaramid kadagitoy a banbanag ket makarimon kenni Yahweh; gapu kadagitoy a makarimon a banbanag ket pagtaltalawen ida ni Yahweh a Diosyo manipud iti sangoananyo.
It's because of these offensive things that the Lord your God is driving out the nations before you.
13 Masapul koma nga awan iti pakapilawanyo iti sangoanan ni Yahweh a Diosyo.
You are to be innocent of such things in the presence of the Lord your God.
14 Ta dagitoyto a nasion a paksiatenyo ket dumdumgegda kadagiti managanito, ken kadagiti agpadpadles; ngem no maipapan kadakayo, saan nga impalubos ni Yahweh a Diosyo nga aramidenyo ti kasta.
Even though these nations, whose land you will occupy, listen to magicians and fortune-tellers, the Lord your God forbids you to do so.
15 Mangbangonto para kadakayo ni Yahweh a Diosyo iti maysa a propeta nga agtaud kadakayo, maysa kadagiti kakabsatyo, kas kaniak. Masapul a dumngegkayo kenkuana.
The Lord your God will send you a prophet like me from your people. You must listen to him.
16 Daytoy ti dinawatyo kenni Yahweh a Diosyo idiay Horeb iti aldaw ti panaggigimong, kinunayo, 'Saanmin koma a mangngeg manen ti timek ni Yahweh a Diosmi, wenno makita daytoy dakkel nga apuy ni kaanoman, wenno amangan a mataykaminto.'
Remember what you told the Lord your God at Horeb when you were all assembled there. You said, “Please don't let us go on hearing the Lord our God speak to us, or see this terrifying fire anymore! Otherwise we're going to die!”
17 Kinuna ni Yahweh kaniak, nasayaat ti imbagada.
Then the Lord told me, “They are right in what they're saying.
18 Mangisaadakto iti maysa a propeta a maipaay kadakuada nga agtaud kadagiti kakabsatda, kas met laeng kenka. Ikabilko dagiti sasaok iti ngiwatna, ket isaonanto kadakuada dagiti amin nga ibilinko kenkuana.
I'm going to send them a prophet like you from their people. I will give him my messages, and he will tell them everything I order him to say.
19 Mapasamakto a no adda ti siasinoman saan a dumngeg kadagiti sasaok nga isasaona iti naganko, birukekto daytoy kenkuana.
I will deal with anyone who does not listen to my message that the prophet speaks in my name.
20 Ngem ti propeta nga agsasao a sitatangsit iti naganko, ti sao a saanko nga imbilin kenkuana a saoenna, wenno agsao iti nagan dagiti sabali a dios, masapul a matay dayta a propeta.
However, if any prophet claims to be delivering a message in my name that I have not ordered him to give, or speaks in the name of other gods, that prophet must be executed.”
21 No kunaenyo iti pusoyo, 'Kasano a mailasinmi ti mensahe a saan nga insao ni Yahweh?'—
You may be wondering, “How can we be sure that a message hasn't come from the Lord?”
22 no agsasao ti propeta iti nagan ni Yahweh, no saan a rumsua wenno mapasamak dayta a banag, dayta ngarud ket banag a saan nga insao ni Yahweh; insao dayta ti propeta a sitatangsit, ket masapul a saankayo nga agbuteng kenkuana.
When a prophet speaks in the Lord's name and what he says doesn't happen or come true, then that is a not a message from the Lord. The prophet has spoken with contempt for the Lord. Don't be intimidated by him.
