< Daniel 8 >

1 Iti maikatlo a tawen a panagturay ni Ari Belsazar, Siak a ni Daniel, ket adda nagparang kaniak a sirmata (kalpasan iti immuna a sirmata a nagparang kaniak).
In the third year of the reign of king Belshazzar a vision appeared unto me, to me Daniel, after that which had appeared unto me at the first.
2 Bayat ti panangkitkitak, nakitak iti sirmata, nga addaak iti nasarikedkedan a siudad ti Susa idiay probinsia ti Elam. Nakitak iti sirmata nga addaak iti abay ti Karayan Ulai.
And I saw in the vision—and it came to pass, in my seeing, that I was at Shushan the capital, which is in the province of 'Elam; —and I saw in the vision, as though I was by the river Ulai.
3 Timmangadak ket nakitak iti sangoanak ti maysa a kalakian a karnero nga addaan kadagiti dua a sara, nga agtaktakder iti abay ti karayan. At-atiddog ti maysa a sara ngem ti sabali a sara, ngem nabunbuntog nga agtubo ti at-atiddog a sara ngem ti ab-ababa ket linumbaanna a dimmakkel daytoy.
And I lifted up my eyes, and saw, and, behold, there was a ram standing before the river, and he had two horns; and the horns were high; but one was higher than the other, and the higher one came up last.
4 Nakitak nga agwangwang-it ti kalakian a karnero nga agturong iti laud, kalpasanna iti amianan, ken kalpasanna iti abagatan; awan ti sabali nga ayup a makaparmek kenkuana. Awan kadakuada ti makabael a mangispal iti siasinoman manipud iti pannakabalinna. Inaramidna ti aniaman a kayatna, ket nagbalin isuna a nabileg.
I saw the ram butting westward, and northward, and southward; so that all the beasts could not stand before him, and no one was there to deliver out of his hand: and he did according to his will, and became great.
5 Kabayatan a panpanunotek daytoy, nakakitaak iti maysa a bulog a kalding nga um-umay manipud iti laud, iti ngatoen ti entero a daga, kasta unay ti pardas ti tarayna, kasla saan nga agdisso dagiti sakana iti daga. Addaan iti dakkel a sara ti kalding iti nagbaetan dagiti matana.
And as I was looking attentively, behold, there came a shaggy, he-goat from the west over the face of the whole earth, without touching the ground; and the goat had a sightly large horn between his eyes.
6 Nagturong isuna iti ayan ti kalakian a karnero nga addaan kadagiti dua a sara—nakitak ti karnero nga agtaktakder iti igid ti karayan—ket nakarungrungsot a nagtaray ti kalding nga agturong iti ayan ti karnero.
And he came as far as the ram that had two horns, that I had seen standing before the river, and ran at him with his furious power.
7 Nakitak nga umas-asideg ti kalding iti karnero. Makapungtot unay isuna iti karnero, ket sinangdona ti karnero ket natukkol dagiti dua a sara daytoy. Awan ti kabaelan ti karnero a makiranget kenkuana. Tinumba isuna iti kalding iti daga ket impayatpayatna daytoy. Awan ti siasinoman a makaispal iti karnero manipud iti pannakabalinna.
And I saw him coming close unto the ram, and he became bitterly enraged against him, and he struck the ram, and broke his two horns: and there was no power in the ram to stand forward before him: and he cast him down to the ground, and stamped upon him; and there was no one to deliver the ram out of his hand.
8 Ket dimmakkel unay ti kalding. Ngem idi pimmigsa isuna, natukkol ti dakkel a sarana, ket iti nakaikkatan ti sarana, nagtubo dagiti uppat a dadakkel a sara a nakaturong kadagiti uppat nga angin dagiti langit.
And the shaggy he-goat became very great: but when he was grown strong, the great horn was broken; and there came up four slightly large ones in its place toward the four winds of heaven.
9 Adda nagtubo a sabali a sara manipud iti maysa kadagitoy, bassit idi un-unana, ngem dimmakkel unay iti abagatan, iti daya, ken idiay nadayag a daga ti Israel.
And out of them came forth a little horn, which became exceedingly great, toward the south, and toward the east, and toward the glorious land.
10 Dimmakkel unay daytoy a kasla makigubat payen iti armada ti langit. Sumagmamano iti dayta nga armada ken sumagmamano kadagiti bituen ket naitappuak iti daga, ket impayatpayatna dagitoy.
And it became great, even up to the host of the heavens; and it cast down to the ground some of the host and of the stars, and trod them under foot.
11 Bimmileg unay daytoy, kabilbileg pay iti armada ti nadiosan a mangidadaulo. Ti kadawyan a daton a mapuoran ket innalada kenkuana, ken natulawan ti santuariona.
Yea, it magnified itself even up to the prince of the host, and by it the continual sacrifice was taken away, and the place of his sanctuary was cast down.
12 Gapu iti panagrebelde, maitedto ti armada iti sara ti kalding, ket maisardengto ti daton a mapuoran. Itinnagto ti sara ti kinapudno iti daga, ket agballiginto daytoy iti aniaman nga ar-aramidenna.
And the host is given up together with the continual sacrifice, by reason of transgression: and it casteth down the truth to the ground, and it doth [this], and is prosperous.
13 Kalpasanna, nangngegko ti maysa a nasantoan nga agsasao ket sungsungbatan isuna ti sabali a nasantoan. “Kasano kapaut dagitoy a banbanag, daytoy a sirmata maipapan iti daton a mapuoran, ti basol a mangyeg iti pannakadadael, ti pannakaiyawat ti santuario, ken ti panakaipayatpayat ti armada ti langit?”
Then did I hear a certain holy one speaking, and a holy one said unto the unknown one who was speaking, For how long is the vision concerning the continual sacrifice, and the wasting transgression, to give up both the sanctuary and the host to be trodden under foot?
14 Kinunana kaniak, “Agpaut daytoy iti 2, 300 a rabii ken agsapa. Kalpasan dayta sumayaatto ti santuario.”
And he said unto me, Until two thousand and three hundred evenings and mornings, when the sanctuary shall be justified.
15 Idi nakitak ti sirmata, siak a ni Daniel ket pinadasko nga awaten daytoy. Ket adda nagtakder iti sangoanak nga aglanglanga a kasla maysa a tao.
And it came to pass, when I, even I Daniel, saw the vision, and sought for understanding, that, behold, there was standing opposite to me something like the appearance of a man.
16 Nakangngegak iti timek ti tao nga agpukpukkaw iti nagbaetan dagiti teppang ti Karayan Ulai. Kinunana, “Gabriel, tulongam a maawatan daytoy a tao ti sirmata.”
And I heard the voice of a man between [the banks of] the Ulai, and it called, and said, Gabriel, cause this one to understand this appearance.
17 Isu nga immasideg isuna iti pagtaktakderak. Idi dimteng isuna, nagbutengak ket nagpaklebak iti daga. Kinunana kaniak, “Anak ti tao, awatem a ti sirmata ket para iti tiempo ti panungpalan.”
So he came close to where I stood: and when he came, I was terrified, and I fell upon my face; but he said unto me, Mark it well, O son of man; because for the time of the end is the vision.
18 Idi makisasao isuna kaniak, nakaturogak ti narnekan a sipapakleb iti daga. Ket sinagidnak ken pinatakdernak.
Now as he was speaking with me, I fell down in amazement on my face to the ground: but he touched me, and set me upright where I had been standing.
19 Kinunana, “Kitaem, ipakitak kenka ti mapasamakto iti maud-udi a tiempo ti pungtot, gapu ta maseknan ti sirmata iti naikeddeng a tiempo iti panungpalan.
And he said, Behold, I will make known unto thee what is to be at the last end of the indignation; for it is for the appointed time of the end.
20 Ket maipapan iti nakitam a kalakian a karnero, ti addaan kadagiti dua a sara— isuda dagiti ari ti Medes ken Persia.
The ram that thou hast seen, him with the two horns, [signifieth] the kings of Media and Persia.
21 Ti bulog a kalding ket ti ari ti Grecia. Ti dakkel a sara iti nagbaetan dagiti matana ket ti umuna nga ari.
And the shaggy he-goat is the king of Javan; and the great horn which is between his eyes is the first king.
22 Ket maipapan iti sara a natukkol, iti disso a nagtuboan ti sabali nga uppat— tumaudto dagiti uppat a pagarian manipud iti nasionna, ngem saan a kabilbileg ti pannakabalinna.
But that it was broken, and that four sprung up in its stead, [signifieth that] four kingdoms will spring up out of the nation, but not with his power.
23 Iti maud-udi a tiempo dagitoy a pagarian, inton agpatingga ti kinadakesda, tumaudto ti maysa a nakabutbuteng ti rupana nga ari a nalaing unay.
And in the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors have filled their measure of guilt, there will arise a king of an impudent face, and understanding deep schemes.
24 Nabilegto ti pannakabalinna— ngem saan a babaen iti bukodna a pannakabalin. Nalawanto ti dadaelenna, ket agballiginto isuna iti aniaman nga aramidenna. Dadaelennanto dagiti nabileg a tattao, tattao a nasantoan.
And his power will be mighty, but not by his own power; and he will destroy wonderfully, and will prosper while he doth [this]; and he will destroy very many and the people of the saints.
25 Babaen iti kinasikapna rumang-ayto iti panangallilaw iti imana. Tumakderto pay isuna a bumusor iti Ari dagiti ari, ken maparmekto isuna— ngem saan a babaen iti pannakabalin ti tao.
And through his intelligence, and because he prospereth, is craftiness in his hand; and in his heart will he magnify himself, and in peace will he destroy many: he will also stand up against the Prince of princes; but without a human hand will he be broken.
26 Ti sirmata a naibaga maipapan kadagiti rabii ken kadagiti agsapa ket pudno. Ngem selioam ti sirmata, ta dakdakamatenna daytoy dagiti adu nga aldaw iti masakbayan.”
And the appearance of the evening and the morning which was spoken of is true: but do thou keep the vision closed up;
27 Ket siak a ni Daniel, kimmapsut ken nagsakitak iti sumagmamano nga aldaw. Kalpasanna, bimmangonak ket intuloyko ti pakaseknan ti ari. Ngem maikulkulengak gapu iti sirmata, ket awan ti siasinoman a makaawat iti daytoy.
And I Daniel grieved, and was sick several days; afterward I rose up, and did the king's business; and I was depressed because of the appearance; but no one observed it.
