1 Ita, kadagidiay nga al-aldaw, idi umad-adu ti bilang dagiti adalan, adda rimsua a riri dagiti Judio a taga Gresya a maibusor kadagiti Hebreo, gapu ta nabaybay-an dagiti balo kadakuada, maipanggep iti inaldaw a pannakaiwaras ti taraon.
But, in these days, the disciples, multiplying, there arose a murmuring of the Grecian Jews against the Hebrews, in that, their widows, were being overlooked in the daily ministry.
2 Inayaban dagiti sangapulo ket dua nga apostol dagiti adu nga adalan ket kinunada,
And the Twelve, calling near the throng of the disciples, said—It doth not seem, right, that, we, forsaking the word of God, should be ministering unto tables.
3 “San a rumbeng nga isardeng ti panangisuro iti sao ti Dios tapno agidasarkami kadagiti lamisaan. Ngarud kakabsat, mangpilikayo iti pito a lallaki kadakayo met laeng, lallaki nga addaan iti nasayaat a pakasarsaritaan, napnoan iti Espiritu ken iti kinasirib, ket isu iti dutokantayo a mangimaton iti daytoy a trabaho.
But look out for yourselves, brethren, seven men from among you, who can be well-attested, full of Spirit and wisdom, —whom we will appoint over this need;
4 Ket dakami met, agtultuloykami latta iti panagkararag ken iti ministerio maipapan iti sao.”
But, we, unto prayer and unto the ministry of the word, will give constant attention.
5 Naay-ayo ti panagsaoda dagiti adu a tattao. Pinilida ngarud ni Esteban, maysa a lalaki a napnoan iti pammati ken iti Espiritu Santo, kasta met da Felipe, Procoro, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas, ken ni Nicolas, a maysa a ganganaet a nagtaud idiay Antiokia.
And the word was pleasing in the sight of all the throng; and they selected Stephen, a man full of faith and Holy Spirit, and Philip and Prochorus and Nicanor and Timon and Parmenas and Nicholaus, a proselyte of Antioch;
6 Indatag dagiti namati dagitoy a lallaki iti sangoanan dagiti apostol, a nangikararag ken nangipatay kadagiti imada kadakuada.
Whom they set before the Apostles, and, praying, they laid upon them their hands.
7 Isu a nagwaras ti sao ti Dios; ken ti bilang dagiti adalan ket immadu iti kasta unay idiay Jerusalem; ket adda dakkel a bilang dagiti papadi a nagbalin a natulnog iti pammati.
And, the word of God, went on growing, and the number of the disciples in Jerusalem continued to multiply exceedingly; a great multitude of the priests also, were becoming obedient unto the faith.
8 Ita, ni Esteban a napnoan iti parabur ken kinabileg, ket nagar-aramid kadagiti nakakaskasdaaw ken pagilasinan kadagiti tattao.
Now, Stephen, full of favour and power, began to do great wonders and signs among the people.
9 Ngem adda tattao a kameng iti sinagoga a maawagan iti sinagoga dagiti Nawayawayaan a tattao, a taga-Cirene ken taga-Alejandria, ken dadduma met ket nagtaud idiay Cilicia ken Asia. Makisinsinnuppiat dagitoy a tattao kenni Esteban.
But there rose up certain of those out of the synagogue which is called [the synagogue] of them of Libertium and Cyrene and Alexandria, and certain of them from Cilicia and Asia, —disputing with Stephen;
10 Ngem saanda a nabaelan a tubngaren ti kinasirib ken ti Espiritu nga adda kenni Esteban iti panagsaona.
And they could not withstand the wisdom and the Spirit with which he was speaking,
11 Ket limed a nangallukoyda kadagiti a lallaki a mangibaga, “Nangngeganmi a tinabbaawan ni Esteban ni Moises ken ti Dios.”
Then, they set on men who were saying—We have heard him speaking profane things against Moses and God.
12 Sinugsoganda dagiti tattao, dagiti panglakayen, ken dagiti eskriba, ket binabalawda ni Esteban, tiniliwda isuna, ken inyegda isuna iti konseho.
And they stirred up the people and the elders and the scribes; and, coming upon him, they caught him away, and led him into the high-council.
13 Nangiyegda kadagiti ulbod a saksi, a nangibaga, “Daytoy a tao ket saan nga agsarsardeng nga agsasao iti sasao maibusor iti daytoy a nasantoan a lugar ken iti linteg.
And they set up false witnesses, who said—This man, ceaseth not speaking things against this holy place and the law;
14 Ta nangngegmi isuna a nangibaga a dadaelen daytoy a Jesus ti Nasaret daytoy a lugar ken sabalianna ti kaugalian nga inted ni Moises kadatayo.”
For we have heard him saying—This Jesus the Nazarene, will overthrow this place, and will change the customs which, Moses, delivered unto us.
15 Tunggal maysa a situtugaw idiay konseho ket nakaturong dagiti matada kenkuana ket nakitada a ti rupana ket kasla rupa iti anghel.
And, looking steadfastly at him, all they who were sitting in the high-council, saw his face, as if the face of a messenger;
