And when it was determined that we should sail for Italy, they delivered Paul and certain other prisoners to a centurion named Julius, of the Augustan band.
2 Naglugan kami iti barko a naggapu idiay Adrumeto, a nakasaganan nga aglayag iti igid ti Asia. Isu a napan kami iti baybay. Kimmuyog kadakami ni Aristarco a naggapu idiay Tesalonica iti Macedonia.
And going on board a ship of Adramyttium, about to sail along the coasts of Asia, we put to sea; Aristarchus, a Macedonian of Thessalonica, being with us.
3 Iti simmaruno nga aldaw, dimteng kami iti siudad ti Sidon, sadiay ket nasayaat iti panangtrato ni Julio kenni Pablo, ket pinalubosanna a mapan kadagiti gagayemna tapno awatenna ti panangaywanda.
And the next day we landed at Sidon; and Julius treated Paul kindly, and gave him leave to go to his friends, and receive their care.
4 Manipud sadiay, napan kami iti baybay ken naglayag kami iti aglawlaw ti Isla ti Cyprus a nasalakniban manipud iti angin, gapu ta ti angin ket maisupadi kadakami.
And thence putting to sea, we sailed under Cyprus, because the winds were contrary.
5 Idi naglayagkamin a bimmalasiw iti danum nga asideg iti Cilicia ken Pamfilia, dimteng kami idiay Mira, maysa a siudad iti Licia.
And having sailed over the sea along Cilicia and Pamphylia, we came to Myra, a city of Lycia.
6 Sadiay, nakasarak ti senturion iti maysa a barko a naggapu idiay Alejandria a mapan idiay Italia. Inlugannakami iti daytoy.
And there the centurion, finding a ship of Alexandria about to sail for Italy, put us on board of it.
7 Idi naglayagkami nga in-innayad iti adu nga al-aldaw, ken kamaudiananna ket simmangpetkami a nagparigat iti asideg ti Cnido, ta saannakami a palubosan ti angin a mapan iti dayta a dalan, isu a nagtuloykami a naglayag iti nalengdan nga igid iti Creta, bangir iti Salmon.
And sailing slowly some days, and having with difficulty arrived over against Cnidus, the wind not permitting us to put in, we sailed under Crete, over against Salmone;
8 Nagparigat kami a naglayag iti igid, agingga a dimmanun kami iti maysa a lugar a managan Natalged a Sangladan, nga asideg iti siudad ti Lasea.
and coasting along it with difficulty we came to a place called Fair Havens, near which was the city Lasea.
9 Nagbayag kami sadiay, ket ti tiempo a panagayunar dagiti Judio ket naglabas metten, ket nagbalinen a napeggad ti aglayag. Isu a binallaagan ida ni Pablo,
And much time having been spent, and the voyage being now dangerous, because the Fast had already gone by, Paul advised them,
10 a kinunana “Lallaki, makitak nga iti umadani a panaglayagtayo ket addaan dunor ken dakkel a pukaw, saan laeng nga iti kargamento ken iti barko, ngem uray pay dagiti biagtayo.”
saying, Sirs, I perceive that this voyage will be with injury and much loss, not only of the lading and the ship, but also of our lives.

But the centurion believed the master and the owner of the ship more than what was spoken by Paul.
12 Gapu ta ti sangladan ket saan a nalaka a pagyanan iti panawen ti lam-ek, kaaduan kadagiti aglaylayag ti nangibaga a masapul nga aglayag a pumanaw manipud sadiay, no babaen iti aniaman a pamuspusan ket madanonmi ti siudad ti Fenix, tapno sadiay a palabsen ti lam-ek. Ti Fenix ket isu iti sangladan idiay Creta, ket sumango daytoy iti amianan a daya ken abagatan a daya.
And as the harbor was not well situated for wintering, the greater part advised to sail thence also, if by any means they might reach Phoenix, a harbor of Crete, looking toward the southwest and northwest, and there winter.

And when a south wind blew gently, supposing that they had obtained their purpose, they weighed anchor, and coasted along close by Crete.

But not long after, there rushed against it a tempestuous wind, called Euroclydon.

And the ship being caught, and unable to face the wind, we gave up to it, and were driven along.
16 Naiturongkami iti nalengdan a paset ti bassit nga isla a maawagan Cauda; ket uray narigatan kami, nabaelanmi nga isalbar ti bangka.
And running under a certain small island called Clauda, we were hardly able to get possession of the boat;
17 Idi ginuyodda nga impangato, rineppetda ti barko babaen kadagiti taltali. Mabutengda a maisadsadkami iti kadaratan ti Sirte, isu nga imbabada ti angkla ti barko iti baybay ket naiturong daytoy.
which when they had taken up, they used helps, undergirding the ship; and fearing lest they should run into the Syrtis, they lowered the sail and so were driven.
18 Binautbaot nakami ti nadawel nga angin, isu nga iti simmaruno nga aldaw, nangrugi dagiti marino nga agitapuak kadagiti kargamento.
And as we were violently tempest-tossed, the next day they began to lighten the vessel;
19 Iti maikatlo nga aldaw, nangibelleng dagiti marino kadagiti maar-aramat iti barko babaen kadagiti im-imada.
and the third day we cast out with our own hands the movables of the ship.
20 Idi saan nga agraniag kadakami ti init ken bitbituen iti adu nga al-aldaw, ken saplisaplitan nakami latta ti nadawel a bagyo, aniaman a namnamami a makalasat ket napukaw.
And as neither sun nor stars had appeared for many days, and no small tempest lay on us, thenceforward all hope that we should be saved was taken away.
21 Idi nabayagen a saanda a nangnangan, nagtakder ni Pablo kadagiti marino ket kinunana, “Dakayo a Lallaki, dimngegkayo koma ngamin kaniak, ket saantayo a naglayag manipud Creta, nga isu iti nakaalantayo kadagitoy a dunor ken pukaw.
And after there had been much abstinence from food, Paul stood up in the midst of them and said, Sirs, ye should have hearkened to me, and not have put to sea from Crete, nod thus brought upon yourselves this injury and loss.
22 Ket ita, karitenkayo nga agbalinkayo a natured, ta awanto iti mapukaw a biag kadakayo, ngem ti laeng mapukaw ket ti barko.
And now I exhort you to be of good cheer; for there will be no loss of life among you, but only of the ship.
23 Ta idi rabii, maysa nga anghel ti Dios a makinkukua kaniak ken pagdaydayawak- ket nagtakder iti abayko
For there stood by me this night an angel of God, whose I am, and whom I serve,
24 ket kinunana, “Saanka nga agbuteng, Pablo. Masapul nga agtakderka iti sangngoanan ni Ceasar, ken kitaem, ti Dios, iti kinasayaatna, ket intedna kenka dagiti amin a kaduam nga aglaylayag.
saying, Fear not, Paul! Thou must stand before Caesar; and lo, God hath given thee all those that sail with thee.
25 Ngarud, dakayo a lallaki, agbalinkayo a natured, gapu ta agtalekak iti Dios, a mapasamak dayta a kas naibaga kaniak.
Wherefore, sirs, be of good cheer; for I believe God, that it will be just as it hath been told me.
26 Ngem masapul a maisadsadtayo iti maysa nga isla.”
But we must be cast upon some island.
27 Idi nadanun ti maikasangapulo ket uppat a rabbi, kabayatan a naiturong kami iti daytoy a dalan ken iti Baybay Adriatico, idi agtengngan ti rabii, impagarup dagiti marino nga asidegdan iti daga.
And when the fourteenth night had come on, as we were driven onward in the Adriatic sea, about midnight the sailors suspected that they were near some country;
28 Nangalada iti pangrukod iti danum ket nasarakanda a dua pulo a karukod ti kaunegna; kalpasan iti sumagmamano a kanito, nangalada iti ad-adu a pangrukod iti danum ket nasarakanda a sanga pulo ket lima a karukod ti kaunegna.
and sounding, they found twenty fathoms; and having gone a little further and sounded again, they found fifteen fathoms;
29 Nagbutengda nga amangan no maidungpar kami iti kabatbatoan, isu nga imbabada ti uppat nga angkla manipud iti likod ti barko ken nagkararagda a bumigat koman.
then fearing lest we should fall upon rocks, they cast four anchors out of the stern, and wished for day.
30 Mangkitkita dagiti marino iti wagas tapno panawanda ti barko ken ibabada ti bangka iti baybay, ket impammarangda nga impurwakda dagiti angkla manipud iti parupa ti barko.
And as the sailors were seeking means to escape from the ship, when they had lowered the boat into the sea, under the pretence that they were about to carry out anchors from the foreship,
31 Ngem kinuna ni Pablo iti senturion ken kadagiti soldado, “Malaksid a dagitoy a lallaki ket agtalinaedda iti barko, saankayo a maisalakan.
Paul said to the centurion and to the soldiers, If these men do not stay in the ship, ye cannot be saved.
32 Ket dagiti soldado, pinutedda dagiti taltali ti bangka ket binay-anda a maiyanud.
Then the soldiers cut off the ropes of the boat, and let it fall off.
33 Idi lumawagen, ginuyugoy ida amin ni Pablo a mangalada iti sangkabassit a makan. Kinunana, “Daytoy nga aldaw ti maikasangapulo ket uppat nga aldaw a naguraykayo ken saan a nangan; awan a pulos ti kinnanyo.
And while the day was coming on, Paul exhorted them all to take food; saying, This is the fourteenth day that ye have waited, and continued fasting, having taken nothing.
34 Isu a kiddawek kadakayo a mangan kayo iti uray sangkabassit a makan, ta daytoy ket para iti pannakailasatyo; ket awanto ti uray maysa a buok iti uloyo a mapukaw.”
Wherefore I exhort you to take food; for this is for your safety; for there shall not a hair be lost from the head of one of you.
35 Idi naibagana daytoy, nangala iti tinapay ket nagyaman iti Dios iti imatang ti tunggal maysa. Ket nangpirsay iti tinapay ket nangrugi a nangan.
And having thus spoken, he took bread, and gave thanks to God in presence of them all, and having broken it, he began to eat.
36 Ket napabilegda amin ket nangalada met iti makan.
Then were they all of good cheer, and they also took food.
37 Dua gasut pito pulo ket innem kami amin iti barko.
And there were of us in the ship in all two hundred and seventy-six souls.
38 Idi nakapangandan, pinalag-ananda ti barko babaen iti panangibellengda iti trigo iti baybay.
And when they had eaten enough, they lightened the ship, casting out the grain into the sea.
39 Idi bumigaten, saanda a nailasin ti daga, ngem adda nakitada nga igid iti baybay, ket nagtututongda a no mabalin ket iturongda ti barko sadiay.
And when it was day, they did not know the land; but they observed a certain creek having a beach, into which they determined, if possible, to run the ship.
40 Isu a pinutedda dagiti angkla ket imbatida dagitoy iti baybay. Iti dayta met laeng a kanito, pinalukayanda dagiti tali iti timon ken inngatoda ti layag tapno iduron ti angin; isu a naiturongda iti igid ti baybay.
And cutting away the anchors, they left them in the sea, and at the same time unfastening the rudder-bands, and hoisting the foresail to the wind, they made toward the beach.
41 Ngem nakagtengda iti lugar a nagsabatan ti ayus iti dua a danum, ket naiturong ti barko iti daga. Naisadsad ti parupa ti barko sadiay ken nagtalinaed a saan nga aggaraw, ngem ti likodna ket nangrugi a madadael gapu iti nadawel a dalluyon.
And falling into a place having the sea on both sides, they ran the ship aground; and the prow stuck fast, and remained immovable, but the stern was breaking to pieces with the violence [[of the waves]].
42 Ti panggep dagiti soldado ket patayenda dagiti balud tapno awan kadakuada ti makalanguy nga umadayo ken makalibas.
And on the part of the soldiers there was a plan to kill the prisoners, lest any one should swim out and escape.
43 Ngem ti senturion ket kayatna nga isalakan ni Pablo, isu a pinasardengna ti panggepda; ket imbilinna a dagiti makalangoy ket umuna a lumagto manipud iti barko ken mapanda iti daga.
But the centurion, wishing to save Paul, kept them from their purpose, and ordered those who could swim to cast themselves first into the sea, and get to land,
44 Ket dagiti nabati a lallaki, masapul a sumarunoda, dadduma ket agpataw iti tabla, ken dadduma ket agpatawda kadagiti banbanag a naggapu iti barko. Iti kasta a wagas, napasamak a dakami amin ket nakagteng a sitatalged iti daga.
and the rest, some on boards, and others on something from the ship. And in this way it came to pass, that they all escaped safe to land.
