Dagiti Aramid 23
1 Kimmita a diretso ni Pablo kadagiti kameng ti konseho ket kinunana, “Kakabsat, nagbiagak iti sangoanan ti Dios iti amin a nasayaat a konsensiak agingga iti daytoy nga aldaw.”
And Paul, looking earnestly upon the Sanhedrim, said: Brethren, I have lived in all good conscience toward God to this day.
2 Minandaran ti kangatoan a padi a ni Ananias dagiti nakatakder iti abay ni Pablo a tibabenda ti ngiwatna.
And the chief priest, Ananias, commanded those who stood by to smite him on the mouth.
3 Ket kinuna ni Pablo kenkuana, “Dusaennaka ti Dios, sika a pader a napintaan iti puraw. Agtugtugawka kadi a mangukom kaniak babaen iti linteg, ngem ibilin mo met a makabilak a maisuppiat iti linteg?”
Then Paul said to him: God will smite you, you whitened wall! for do you sit to judge me according to the law, and yet violate the law by commanding me to be smitten?
4 Kinuna dagiti nakatakder, “Kastoy kadi ti panangpabain mo iti kangatoan a Padi ti Dios?”
And those who stood by said: Do you revile God’s chief priest?
5 Kinuna ni Pablo, “Diak ammo kakabsat, nga isuna ket nangato a padi. Ta naisurat, Saanka nga agsao iti dakes iti mangiturturay kadagiti tattaom.”
And Paul replied: I did not know, brethren, that he was the chief priest: for it is written, You shall not speak evil of the ruler of your people.

But when Paul perceived that one part belonged to the Sadducees, and the other to the Pharisees, he cried out, in the Sanhedrim: Brethren, I am a Pharisee, the son of a Pharisee; for the hope of the resurrection of the dead am I judged.
7 Idi naibagana daytoy, rimsua ti panagsusuppiat iti nagbabaetan dagiti Pariseo ken Saduceo ket nabingay ti taripnong.
And when he had said this, there arose a dissension between the Pharisees and the Sadducees, and the multitude was divided.
8 Ta ibagbaga dagiti Saduceo nga awan panagungar, awan dagiti anghel ken dagiti espiritu, ngem kuna dagiti Pariseo nga amin dagitoy ket adda.
For the Sadducees say that there is no resurrection; neither angel nor spirit: but the Pharisees acknowledge both. And there arose a great clamor. And the scribes, on the part of the Pharisees, arose and contended, saying:
9 Napasamak ngarud ti dakkel a riri, ken dadduma kadagiti eskriba a pakairamanan dagiti Pariseo ket timmakder ken simmuppiatda, a kunada, “Awan masarakanmi a biddut iti daytoy a tao. No ngay adda espiritu wenno anghel a nagsao kenkuana?”
We find no evil in this man; but if a spirit or an angel has spoken to him, let us not fight against God.
10 Ket idi adda rimsua a dakkel a panagririri, nagbuteng ti panguloen a kapitan nga amangan no rangrangkayenda ni Pablo, isu a minandaranna dagiti soldado a bumabada ket pilitenda nga alaen isuna manipud kadagiti kameng iti mammagbaga, ken ipanda isuna idiay kuartel.
And when there arose a great dissension, the officer, fearing that Paul would be torn to pieces by them, commanded the soldiers to go down, and to take him by force from among them, and to bring him into the fortress.
11 Iti karabianna, nagtakder ti Apo iti abayna ket kinunana, “Saanka nga agbuteng, kas iti panangpaneknekmo maipapan kaniak ditoy Jerusalem, kasta met a masapul a paneknekam idiay Roma.”
And on the following night, the Lord stood by him, and said: Take courage; for as you have testified of me in Jerusalem, so must you testify also in Rome.
12 Ket idi immaldawen, adda dagiti Judio a nangaramid iti tulag ken nangayab iti lunod kadagiti bagbagida: ket kinunada a saandanto a mangan wenno uminom iti aniaman agingga a mapatayda ni Pablo.
And when it was day, the Jews combined together, and bound themselves under a curse, saying, that they would neither eat nor drink till they had killed Paul.
13 Adda ti nasurok nga uppat a pulo a lallaki a nangaramid iti daytoy a nalimed a panggep.
And there were more than forty who formed this conspiracy.
14 Napanda kadagiti panguloen a padi ken kadagiti panglakayen ket kinunada, “Inkabilmi dagiti bagbagimi iti sirok ti dakkel a lunod, nga awan iti mangan aginggana a mapataymi ni Pablo.
And they went to the chief priests and elders, and said: We have surely bound ourselves under a curse, that we will taste nothing till we have killed Paul.
15 Ita ngarud, palubosanyo ti konseho nga ibagada iti panguloen a kapitan a paulogenda a maiyeg kadakayo, a kasla kayatyo a palutputen a naimbag iti kasona. Dakami met, nakasaganakami a mangpatay kenkuana sakbay nga umay ditoy.”
Now, therefore, do you, together with the Sanhedrim, give notice to the officer, that he bring him down to you to-morrow, as if you intended to inquire more accurately into the matters concerning him: and before he comes near, we are ready to kill him.

But the son of Paul’s sister heard of the plot, and he went and entered the fortress, and told Paul.
17 Inayaban ni Pablo ti maysa kadagiti senturion ket imbagana, “Ipanyo daytoy nga agtutubo a lalaki iti panguloen a kapitan, ta adda banag nga ibagana kenkuana.
And Paul called one of the centurions to him, and said: Conduct this young man to the officer, for he has something to tell him.
18 Inkuyog ngarud ti senturion ti agtutubo a lalaki ket impanna isuna iti panguloen a kapitan ket kinunana, “Inayabannak ni Pablo a balud ken dinawatna nga iyegko daytoy nga agtutubo a lalaki kenka. Adda banag nga ibagana kenka.”
So he took him, and led him to the officer, and said: The prisoner Paul called me to him, and requested me to conduct this young man to you; for he has something to tell you.
19 Iniggaman ti panguloen a kapitan ti ima ti agtutubo ket napanda iti pribado a lugar ket nagsaludsod kenkuana, “Ania kadi dayta a masapul nga ibagam kaniak?”
And the officer took him by the hand, and went aside with him privately, and inquired: What is it that you have to tell me?
20 Kinuna ti agtutubo a tao, “Nagtutulagan dagiti Judio a kiddawenda kenka a paulogem ni Pablo no bigat iti konseho, a kasla agsaludsodda pay iti naing-inget maipapan iti kasona.
He answered: The Jews have agreed to request you to bring Paul down into the Sanhedrim to-morrow, as if they intended to inquire something more accurately concerning him.
21 Ngem saanmo nga itulok ti kayatda, gapu ta adda nasurok uppat a pulo a lallaki a kumkumleb a mangur- uray kenkuana. Nagsapatada a saandanto a mangan wenno uminom agingga a mapatayda isuna. Uray ita nakasaganadan, ur-urayenda iti pammalubos nga aggapu kenka.
Do not, however, be persuaded by them; for more than forty men of them are lying in wait for him; and they have bound themselves under a curse, that they will neither eat nor drink till they have killed him. And now they are ready, waiting for a promise from you.
22 Pinalubusan ngarud ti panguloen a kapitan a mapanen ti agtutubo a lalaki, kalpasan iti panangisurona kenkuana, “Awan iti pangibagaam a naibagam dagitoy a banbanag kaniak.”
Then the officer sent the young man away, with this charge: Tell no one that you have made these things known to me.
23 Ket nangayab iti dua kadagiti senturion ken imbagana, “Mangala kayo ti dua gasut a soldado a nakasagana a mapan agingga idiay Cesarea, ken pito pulo a kumakabayo a lallaki, ken dua gasut a pumipika a lallaki. Pumanawkayo iti maikatlo nga oras iti rabii.”
And he called to him two centurions, and said: Make ready two hundred soldiers, and seventy horsemen, and two hundred spearmen, that they may depart to Cæsarea at the third hour of the night.
24 Imbilinna met kadakuada a maipaayan ni Pablo kadagiti ayup a mabalinna a pagsakayan, ken ipanda isuna a natalged kenni Felix a gobernador.
And provide beasts on which they may set Paul, and take him in safety to Felix the governor.
25 Ket nagsurat iti surat a kastoy:
And he wrote a letter in this form:
26 Claudius Lisias, iti kalalaingan a gobernador Felix, kablaaw.
Claudius Lysias to the most excellent governor, Felix, greeting:
27 Daytoy a tao ket tiniliw dagiti Judio ken nag nganganida a patayen, idi napanak kadakuada a kaduak dagiti soldado ket insalakanmi isuna, manipud idi naammoak nga isuna ket maysa nga umili iti Roma.
This man was taken by the Jews, and was about to be killed by them. Then I went with soldiers, and rescued him, having learned that he was a Roman.
28 Kayatko a mammoan no apay a pinabasolda isuna, isu nga impanko isuna iti konsehoda.
But wishing to know the cause for which they accused him, I brought him down into their Sanhedrim.
29 Naammoak nga isu ket napabasol maipanggep kadagiti salsaludsod maipapan iti lintegda, ngem awan iti pammabasol a maibusor kenkuana a matudingan iti patay wenno pannakaibalud.
And I found that he was accused about questions of their law, but had nothing worthy of death or of bonds charged against him.
30 Ket naipakaammo kaniak nga adda iti panggep a maibusor iti daytoy a tao, isu a dagus nga imbaonko kenka ken imbagak met kadagiti mangpabpabasol kenkuana nga iyegda dagiti darum a maibusor kenkuana iti imatangmo. Agpakadaakon.”
And as I was informed that a plot was about to be laid against the man by the Jews, I immediately sent him to you, and commanded his accusers to say in your presence what they had against him. Farewell.
31 Isu a tinungpal dagiti soldado dagiti bilinna: innalada ni Pablo ket impanda isuna idiay Antipatris iti rabii.
Then the soldiers took Paul, as they were commanded, and brought him by night to Antipatris.
32 Iti simmaruno nga aldaw, kaadduan kadagiti soldado ti nangpanaw kadagiti nakakabalyo a lallaki a mangkadua kenkuana ket nagsusublida iti kuartel.
And, on the morrow, they left the horsemen to go with him, and returned to the fortress.
33 Idi nakadanonen dagiti nakakabalyo a lallaki idiay Cesarea ken naituloddan ti surat iti gobernador, imparangda met ni Pablo kenkuana.
When they came to Cæsarea, and delivered the letter to the governor, they presented Paul also before him.
34 Idi nabasa ti gobernador ti surat, sinaludsodna no ania a probinsia ti naggapuan ni Pablo; ket idi naammoanna nga isuna ket naggapu idiay Cilicia,
And when he had read the letter, he inquired to what province he belonged. And learning that he was from Cilicia,
35 kinunana, “Denggenkanto a naimbag inton umay dagiti nangidarum kenka ditoy.” Ket imbilinna a maipupok isuna idiay palasio ni Herodes.
he said: I will hear you when your accusers also have come. And he ordered him to be kept under guard in Herod’s palace.
