< II Samuel 5 >
1 Ket dimmatag dagiti amin a tribu ti Israel kenni David idiay Hebron ket kinunada, “Kitaem, dakami ti lasagmo ken tulangmo.
Then came all the tribes of Israel unto David, in Hebron, —and spake, saying—Behold us! thy bone and thy flesh, we are.
2 Iti napalabas, idi ni Saul ti agar-ari kadatayo, sika ti nangidaulo ti armada ti Israelita. Kinuna ni Yahweh kenka, 'Ipastormonto dagiti tattaok nga Israel, ket agturaykanto iti entero nga Israel.'”
Also, in time past, when Saul was king over us, thou, wast he that led out and brought in, Israel, —and Yahweh said to thee—Thou, shalt be shepherd unto my people, Israel, and, thou, shalt become leader over Israel.
3 Dimmatag ngarud dagiti amin a panglakayen ti Israel iti ari idiay Hebron, ken nakitulag ni Ari David kadakuada iti sangoanan ni Yahweh. Pinulotanda ni David nga ari ti Israel.
So all the elders of Israel came unto the king, in Hebron, and King David solemnised to them a covenant in Hebron, before Yahweh, —and they anointed David to be king over Israel.
4 Agtawen ni David iti 30 idi mangrugi isuna nga agturay, ket nagturay isuna iti 40 a tawen.
Thirty years old, was David when he began to reign, —forty years, he reigned:
5 Idiay Hebron, nagturay isuna iti entero a Judah iti pito a tawen ken innem a bulan, ket nagturay isuna idiay Jerusalem iti 33 a tawen iti entero nga Israel ken Juda.
in Hebron, reigned he over Judah, seven years, and six months, —and, in Jerusalem, reigned he thirty and three years, over all Israel and Judah.
6 Napan ti ari agraman dagiti buyotna idiay Jerusalem a maibusor kadagiti Jebuseo, nga agnanaed iti daga. Kinunada kenni David, “Saanka a makadap-aw ditoy ta uray dagiti bulag ken pilay ket pagsubliendaka. Saan a makaumay ditoy ni David.”
Then went the king and his men, to Jerusalem, against the Jebusites, inhabiting the land, —and they spake to David, saying—Thou canst not come in hither, unless thou take away the blind and lame—Thinking, David will not come in hither.
7 Nupay kasta, naagaw ni David ti sarikedked ti Sion, a siudad ita ni David.
So then David captured the citadel of Zion, —the same, is the city of David.
8 Iti dayta a tiempo, kinuna ni David, “Siasinoman dagiti mangraut kadagiti Jebuseo ket masapul a magna iti paggapgapuan ti danum sadanto madanun dagiti 'pilay ken bulag,' a manggurgura kenni David.” Isu nga ibagbaga dagiti tattao, “Saan a makadap-aw iti palasio 'dagiti bulag ken pilay'.”
And David said, on that day—Whosoever is smiting the Jebusites, then let him reach as far as the aqueduct. But, as for the lame and the blind, they were the hated of David’s soul, —for which cause, they kept on saying, Blind and lame! he will not enter the place.
9 Nagnaed ngarud ni David iti sarikedked ken naawagan daytoy iti siudad ni David. Pinalawana daytoy, manipud iti terasa nga agpauneg.
So then David dwelt in the citadel, and called it, The City of David, —and David built round about, from Millo and inwards.
10 Bimmileg unay ni David gapu ta kaduana ni Yahweh, ti Dios a mannakabalin amin.
And David went on and on waxing great, —Yahweh, God of hosts, being with him.
11 Ket nangipatulod ni Hiram nga ari ti Tiro kadagiti mensahero kenni David, ken kadagiti kayo ti sedro, ken kadagiti karpentero, ken kadagiti kumakabite. Nangibangonda iti balay a para kenni David.
Then Hiram, king of Tyre, sent messengers unto David, with cedar-wood, and carpenters, and masons, and they built a house for David.
12 Ammon ni David nga insaad isuna ni Yahweh a kas ari ti entero nga Israel, ken intag-ayna ti pagarianna para iti pagsayaatan dagiti tattaona nga Israel.
So David perceived that Yahweh had established him to be king over Israel, —and that he had exalted his kingdom, for the sake of his people Israel.
13 Idi nakapanaw ni David idiay Hebron ket napan iti Jerusalem, nangala isuna kadagiti ad-adu pay nga ikabbalayna a babbai ken assawa idiay Jerusalem, ket ad-addu pay ti naipasngay a putotna a lallaki ken babbai.
And David took him yet more concubines and wives, out of Jerusalem, after he had come from Hebron, and there were, yet further, born unto David, sons and daughters.
14 Dagitoy dagiti nagan dagiti putotna a naipasngay idiay Jerusalem: Summua, Sobab, Natan, Solomon,
Now, these, are the names of the sons who were born unto him in Jerusalem, —Shammua and Shobab, and Nathan, and Solomon;
15 Ibhar, Elisua, Nefeg, Jafia,
and Ibhar and Elishua and Nepheg and Yaphia;
16 Elisama, Eliada ken ni Elifelet.
and Elishama and Eliada, and Eliphalet.
17 Ket, idi nangngeg dagiti Filisteo a napulotan a kas ari ni David iti Israel, napanda amin tapno sapulenda isuna. Ngem nangngeg ni David ti maipanggep iti daytoy ket bimmaba isuna a nagkamang iti sarikedked.
And, when the Philistine heard that they had anointed David to be king over Israel, then came up all the Philistines to seek to secure David, and David heard of it, and went down into the citadel.
18 Ita, simmangpet dagiti Filisteo ket nagwarasda iti Tanap ti Refaim.
Now, the Philistines, had come, —and had spread themselves out in the vale of Rephaim.
19 Dimmawat ngarud ni David iti tulong ni Yahweh. Kinunana, “Rumbeng kadi a rautek dagiti Filisteo? Pagballigiennak kadi manipud kadakuada?” Kinuna ni Yahweh kenni David, “Rautem ida, ta awan duadua a pagballigienka maibusor kadagiti Filisteo.”
So then David enquired of Yahweh, saying, —Shall I go up against the Philistines? Wilt thou deliver them into my hand? And Yahweh said unto David—Go up; for I, will surely deliver, the Philistines into thy hand.
20 Rimmaut ngarud ni David idiay Baal Perazim, ket pinarmekna ida sadiay. Kinunana, “Winarawara ni Yahweh dagiti kabusorko iti sangoanak a kasla naisawang a layus ti danum.” Isu a nagbalin a Baal Perazim ti nagan dayta a lugar.
And David entered Baal-perazim, and David smote them there, and said—Yahweh hath broken forth upon mine enemies, before me, like a breaking forth of waters. For this cause, called he the name of that place, Baal-perazim.
21 Pinanawan dagiti Filisteo dagiti didiosenda sadiay, ket inyawid ni David ken dagiti soldadona dagitoy.
And they left their images there, —and David and his men took them away.
22 Ket simmang-at manen dagiti Filisteo ket nagwarasda pay iti maminsan pay iti Tanap ti Refaim.
And, yet again, did the Philistines come up, —and they spread themselves out in the vale of Rephaim.
23 Isu a dinawat manen ni David ti tulong ni Yahweh, ket kinuna ni Yahweh kenkuana, “Masapul a saanmo a rauten isuda iti sangonsango, ngem ketdi manglikawka iti likudanda samunto rauten ida babaen kadagiti balsam a kaykayo.
So David enquired of Yahweh, and he said—Thou shalt not go up, —Get round behind them, and come in upon them, over against the mulberry-trees.
24 Inton mangegmo dagiti arimpadekda a maipalpalayupoy kadagiti murdong dagiti balsam a kaykayo, rautem ngarud ida nga addaan iti pigsa. Aramidem daytoy gapu ta umun-una ni Yahweh kenka a mangraut iti armada ti Filisteo.”
And it shall be, when thou shalt hear a sound of marching in the tops of the mulberry-trees, then, shalt thou act with decision, —for, then, will Yahweh have gone forth before thee, to smite the host of the Philistines.
25 Tinungpal ngarud ni David kas imbilin ni Yahweh kenkuana. Pinapatayna dagiti Filisteo manipud Gabaa agingga idiay Gezer.
And David did so, as Yahweh had commanded him, —and smote the Philistines, from Gibeon until thou enterest Gezer.
