< II Samuel 15 >
1 Naaramid a kalpasan daytoy a nangisagana ni Absalom iti bukodna a karwahe ken kabkabalio, agraman iti 50 a lallaki nga agtaray iti sangoananna.
And it came to pass, after this, that Absolom prepared him chariots and horses, —and fifty men, to run before him.
2 Masapa a bumangon ni Absalom ket agtakder iti igid ti dalan nga agturong iti ruangan iti siudad. No mapan ti siasinoman nga addaan iti saan a pagkikinnaawatan a paokom iti ari, ayaban isuna ni Absalom ket ibagana, “Iti ania a siudad iti naggapuam?” Ket sumungbat ti lalaki, “Daytoy adipenmo ket manipud iti maysa kadagiti tribu ti Israel.”
And Absolom used to rise up early, and take his stand beside the way of the gate, —and so it was—when any man who had a controversy would come unto the king for judgment, then Absalom called unto him, and said: Of what city, art, thou? And he said, Of one of the tribes of Israel, is thy servant. And Absolom said unto him,
3 Iti kasta ibaga ni Absalom kenkuana, “Kitaem, naimbag ken nasayaat ti kasom, ngem awan ti inikkan ti ari iti pannakabalin a dumngeg iti kasom.”
See! thy cause, is good and right, —but, to hear it, thou hast no one, from the king.
4 Innayon pay ni Absalom, “Tarigagayak a maysaak la koma nga ukom a naisaad iti daga, tapno mabalin koma nga umay kaniak ti tunggal tao nga addaan iti saan a pagkikinnaawatan wenno pakaseknan, ket mabalin a maipaayko kenkuana iti hustisia!”
And Absalom said, Oh would that I were appointed to judge in the land! that, unto me, might come every man having a complaint or a defence, then would I see him righted.
5 Iti kasta no adda tao nga umasideg kenni Absalom tapno agdayaw kenkuana, iyunnat ni Absalom ti imana ken iggamanna isuna ken agekanna isuna.
Moreover, so it used to be, that, when any man came near to do him homage, he would put forth his hand, and lay hold of him, and kiss him.
6 Kastoy a wagas ti inaramid ni Absalom kadagiti amin nga Israel a mapan iti ari tapno paukom. Isu a naibaw-ing ni Absalom dagiti puso dagiti tattao ti Israel.
And Absolom did, after this manner, to all Israel who came for judgment, unto the king, —so Absolom stole away the heart of the men of Israel.
7 Ket naaramid kalpasan ti uppat a tawen nga imbaga ni Absalom iti ari, “Pangngaasim ta palubosannak a mapan tapno tungpalek ti insapatak kenni Yahweh idiay Hebron.
And it came to pass, at the end of forty years, that Absolom said unto the king—Let me go, I pray thee, that I may pay my vow which I have vowed unto Yahweh, in Hebron;
8 Ta nagsapata daytoy adipenmo idi agnanaedak idiay Gesur idiay Aram, a kinunak, 'No iyegnakto manen ni Yahweh idiay Jerusalem, agrukbabakto ngarud kenni Yahweh.”'
for thy servant vowed, a vow, while I abode in Geshur in Syria, saying, —If Yahweh, will but bring me back, unto Jerusalem, then will I serve Yahweh,
9 Isu a kinuna ti ari kenkuana, “Inka a sitatalna.” Timmakder ngarud ni Absalom ket napan idiay Hebron.
And the king said unto him—Go and prosper! So he arose and went to Hebron.
10 Ngem kalpasanna nangibaon ni Absalom kadagiti espia kadagiti amin a tribu ti Israel, kinunana, “Apaman a mangngegyo ti uni iti trumpeta, masapul ngarud nga ibagayo, 'Ni Absalom ti ari idiay Hebron.”
And Absolom sent spies throughout all the tribes of Israel, saying, —When ye hear the sound of the horn, then shall ye say, Absolom hath become king in Hebron!
11 Kakuyog ni Absalom iti naawis a dua gasut a lallaki manipud iti Jerusalem. Napanda iti kinainosenteda, a saanda nga ammo iti aniaman a panggep ni Absalom.
And, with Absolom, went two hundred men, out of Jerusalem, who, having been bidden, were going in their simplicity, —neither knew they anything.
12 Bayat ti panangidaton ni Absalom, nangibaun isuna iti napan kenni Ahitofel iti ilina a Gilo. Mammagbaga isuna ni David. Napigsa ti yaalsa ni Absalom, ta agtultuloy nga umad-ado dagiti tattao a sumursurot kenkuana.
And Absalom sent and called Ahithophel the Gilonite, David’s counsellor, out of his city, out of Gilo, when he was offering sacrifices, —and so it was that the conspiracy was strong, and, the people, went on multiplying with Absolom.
13 Napan kenni David ti maysa a mensahero a nagkuna, “Sumursurot kenni Absalom dagiti puso dagiti tattao ti Israel.”
Then came one bearing tidings unto David, saying, —It hath come about, that the heart of the men of Israel goeth after Absolom.
14 Kinunana ngarud ni David kadagiti amin nga adipenna a kaduana iti Jerusalem, “Tumakderkayo ta pumanawtayo, wenno awan kadatayo ti makalibas kenni Absalom. Agsaganakayo ta pumanawtayo a dagus, wenno makamatannatayo a sidadaras, ket iyegna iti rigat kadatayo ken darupenna iti siudad babaen iti tadem iti kampilan.”
Then said David, to all his servants who were with him in Jerusalem—Arise and let us flee, or we shall have no way of escape from the face of Absolom, —make speed to depart, lest he make speed, and so overtake us, and bring down misfortune upon us, and smite the city with the edge of the sword.
15 Kinuna ti adipen ti ari iti ari, “Adtoy, nakasaganan dagiti adipenmo a mangaramid iti aniaman nga ikeddeng ti apomi nga ari.”
And the king’s servants said unto the king, —According to all that my lord the king shall choose, here are thy servants.
16 Pimmanaw ti ari agraman ti pamiliana a simmurot kenkuana, ngem nangibati ti ari iti sangapulo a babbai a kinabbalayna, a mangaywan iti palasio.
So the king went forth, with all his household attending him, —but the king left ten women who were concubines, to keep the house.
17 Kalpasan a rimmuar ti ari ken dagiti amin a tattao a simmurot kenkuana, nagsardengda iti maudi a balay.
Thus then the king went forth, with all the people attending him, —and they came to a stand at a place that was far off.
18 Kimmuyog kenkuana a nagna dagiti amin a soldadona, ken napan iti sangoananna amin dagiti Cereteos, ken amin dagiti Peleteos, ken amin dagiti Geteos - 600 a lallaki a simmurot kenkuana manipud Gat.
And, all his servants, were passing on beside him, and all the Cherethites, and all the Pelethites, —and, all the Gittites—six hundred men, who had accompanied him from Gath, —were passing on before the king.
19 Kalpasanna, kinuna ti ari kenni Ittai a Geteo, “Apay a simmurotka met kadakami? Agsublika ken makipagnaedka kenni Ari Absalom, ta maysaka a ganggannaet ken napapanawka. Agsublika iti bukodmo a lugar.
Then said the king, unto Ittai the Gittite, Wherefore shouldest, thou also, go with us? return and abide with the king, for, a stranger, art thou, moreover also, an exile, art thou from thine own country.
20 Gapu ta idi kalmanka laeng a pimmanaw, apay a pagalla-allaenka a kaduadakami? Saanko pay nga ammo no sadino iti papanak. Isu nga agsublika ket iyawidmo dagiti kailiam. Sapay koma ta kumuyog kenka ti kinamanangngaasi ken kinapudno.”
Only yesterday, camest thou, and, today, shall I let thee wander with us, on our journey, seeing that, I, am going, whithersoever I may? Return and take back thy brethren with thee, and may Yahweh deal with thee in lovingkindness and faithfulness.
21 Ngem simmungbat ni Ittai ket kinunana, “Iti nagan ni Yahweh nga adda iti agnanayon, ken ti apok nga ari, pudno nga iti aniaman a lugar a papanan ti apok nga ari, isu met ti papanan daytoy adipenmo, uray no ti kaipapananna ket pagbiagak wenno pakatayak.”
But Ittai answered the king, and said, —By the life of Yahweh, and by the life of my lord the king, surely, in whatsoever place, my lord the king, may be, whether for death or for life, there will, thy servant, be.
22 Isu a kinuna ni David kenni Ittai, “Ituloyyo ngaruden ken kumuyogkayo kadakami.” Kimmuyog ngarud a nagna ni Ittai a Geteo iti ari, ken dagiti amin a kakaduana a lallaki ken amin dagiti pamiliana a kaduana.
Then said David unto Ittai—Go, and pass on. So Ittai the Gittite passed on, with all his men, and all the little ones that were with him.
23 Nagdung-aw dagiti amin a pagilian ket bimmallasiw amin a tattao iti Tanap ti Cedron, ket bimmallasiw met mismo ti ari. Nagdalliasat amin dagiti tattao iti dalan nga agturong iti let-ang.
And, fall the land, was weeping, with a loud voice, and, all the people, were passing on, —the king also, was passing on, through the torrent-bed of Kidron, and all the people were passing on over the face of the way leading to the wilderness.
24 Ket adda met uray ni Zadok agraman dagiti amin a Levita, awit-awitda ti Lakasa ti Tulag ti Dios. Indissoda ti Lakasa ti Tulag ti Dios, ket kalpasanna nakikadua kadakuada ni Abiatar. Nagurayda agingga a nakaruar amin dagiti tattao iti siudad.
And lo! Zadok also, and all the Levites with him, were bearing the ark of the covenant of God, and they set down the ark of God, and Abiathar went up, until all the people had made an end of passing over out of the city.
25 Kinuna ti ari kenni Zadok, “Awitem nga isubli ti Lakasa iti Dios idiay siudad. No makasarakak iti pabor iti imatang ni Yahweh, isublinakto ditoy ket ipakitana manen kaniak ti Lakasa ken ti lugar a pagnanaedanna.
Then said the king unto Zadok, Take back the ark of God into the city, —if I find favour in the eyes of Yahweh, then will he bring me back, and let me see both him and his habitation,
26 Ngem no ibagana, 'Saanak a maay-ayo kenka, kitaem, adtoyak, aramidenna kaniak aniaman nga ipagarupna a naimbag.
but, if thus, he say, I have no delight in thee, here I am, let him do unto me as may be good in his eyes.
27 Kinuna pay ti ari kenni Zadok a padi, “Saanka kadi a mammadto? Agsublika iti siudad a sitatalna, ken ikuyogmo ti dua a putotmo a lallaki, a ni Ahimaas, ken ni Jonatan a puto a lalaki ni Abiatar.
And the king said, unto Zadok the priest, Art thou not, a seer? return into the city, in peace, —and Ahimaaz thine own son, and Jonathan son of Abiathar—your two sons, with you.
28 Kitaem, agurayakto idiay pagballasiwan iti Araba agingga a dumteng ti sao nga aggapu kenka a mangipakaammo kaniak.”
See! I, am tarrying in the waste plains of the wilderness—until there come word from you, to tell me.
29 Insubli ngarud ni Zadok ken ni Abiatar ti Lakasa ti Dios idiay Jerusalem, ket nagnaedda sadiay.
So Zadok and Abiathar took back the ark of God to Jerusalem, —and abode there.
30 Ngem simmang-at ni David a saka-saka ken agsangsangit idiay Bantay dagiti Olibo, ken inabbungotanna ti ulona. Tunggal tao kadagiti tattao a kaduana ket inabbungotanna iti ulona, ket simmang-atda nga agsangsangit kabayatan iti pannagnada.
Now, David, was going up by the ascent of Olivet, weeping as he went up, with his head covered, himself, passing on barefoot, —and all the people who were with him, covered every man his head, and went up, weeping as they went.
31 Maysa ti nangibaga kenni David a kunana, “Maysa met ni Ahitofel kadagiti nakipag-alsa ken ni Absalom.” Isu nga inkararag ni David, O Yahweh, pangngaasim ta pagbalinem a kinamaag ti balakad ni Ahitofel.”
And, unto David, it was told, saying, Ahithophel, is among the conspirators with Absolom. And David said, Turn to foolishness, I pray thee, the counsel of Ahithophel, O Yahweh.
32 Naaramid nga idi nakadanon ni David iti tapaw ti dalan, nga isu ti nagdaydayawanda iti Dios kadagiti naglabas a tiempo, immay a simmabat kenkuana ni Cusai nga Arkita a naray-ab ti kagayna ken tapok-tapok iti ulona.
And it came to pass, when David reached the summit, where he bowed himself down unto God, that lo! there met him, Hushai the Archite, his tunic rent, and earth upon his head.
33 Kinuna ni David kenkuana, “No makipagdalliasatka kaniak, ket agbalinka laeng a padagsen kaniak.
And David said unto him, —If thou pass over with me, then shalt thou become unto me, a burden;
34 Ngem no agsublika iti siudad ken ibagam kenni Absalom, “Agbalinakto nga adipenmo, apok nga ari, a kas iti panagbalinko nga adipen iti amam iti naglabas a tiempo, iti kasta ita adipennakon,' ket, riribukemto koma ti balakad ni Ahitofel, a maipaay kaniak.
but, if, to the city, thou return, then canst thou say unto Absolom—Thy servant, I, O king, will be, as, the servant of thy father, I was formerly, so will I, now, be thy servant: thus shalt thou frustrate for me the counsel of Ahithophel.
35 Ken saanto kadi a kaduam sadiay ni Sadok ken Abiatar a papadi? Isu nga aniaman a mangngegmo idiay palasio iti ari, masapul nga ibagam kenni Sadok ken Abiatar a papadi.
And hast thou not, with thee, there Zadok and Abiathar the priests? so then it shall be, that, what thing soever thou shalt hear out of the house of the king, thou shalt tell to Zadok and to Abiathar, the priests.
36 Kitaem a kaduada dagiti dua a putoda a lallaki, ni Ahimaas, a puto a lalaki ni Sadok, ken Jonatan, a puto a lalaki ni Abiatar. Masapul nga ibaonmo kaniak babaen kadagiti imada ti amin a banag a mangngegam.
Lo! they have there with them, their two sons, Ahimaaz for Zadok, and Jonathan for Abiathar, —so shall ye send, by their hand, unto me, everything which ye shall hear.
37 Napan ngarud iti siudad ni Cusai, a gayyem ni David, apagisu met a simmangpet ken simrek ni Absalom idiay Jerusalem.
So Hushai, David’s friend, went into the city, —when, Absolom, was about to enter Jerusalem.
