2 Cronicas 25

1 Agtawen ni Amazias iti 25 idi nagrugi isuna nga agturay a kas ari; nagturay isuna iti 29 a tawen idiay Jerusalem. Joadan ti nagan ti inana a taga-Jerusalem.

Twenty-five years old, was Amaziah, when he began to reign, and, twenty-nine years, reigned he in Jerusalem, —and, the name of his mother, was Jehoaddan, of Jerusalem.

2 Inaramidna ti umno iti imatang ni Yahweh ngem saan nga iti napasnek a puso.

And he did that which was right in the eyes of Yahweh, —only not with a whole heart.

3 Ket napasamak nga apaman a napabileg ti panagturayna, pinapatayna dagiti adipen a nangpapatay iti amana nga ari.

And it came to pass, when the kingdom was confirmed unto him, that he slew his servants who had smitten the king his father;

4 Ngem saanna a pinapatay dagiti annak dagiti nangpapatay iti amana, ngem tinungpalna ti nailanad iti linteg, iti libro ni Moises a kas imbilin ni Yahweh, “Saan a mapapatay dagiti amma gapu kadagiti annak, wenno saan a mapapatay dagiti annak gapu kadagiti amma. Ngem ketdi, mapapatay ti maysa a tao gapu iti bukodna a basol.”

but, their sons, he put not to death, —but as it is written in the law—in the book of Moses—how that Yahweh commanded, saying-Fathers, shall not die for, sons, and Sons, shall not die, for, fathers, but Each man, for his own sin, shall die.

5 Maysa pay, inummong ni Amazias ti Juda ket inrehistrona ida segun kadagiti balay dagiti kapuonand. Nangdutok kadagiti mangipangulo iti rinibu ken kadagiti mangipangulo iti ginasut— iti entero a Juda ken Benjamin. Binilangna ida manipud iti agtawen iti duapulo ken agpangato, ket agdagupda iti 300, 000 a napili a lallaki a makabael a makigubat, lallaki a makaammo nga agiggem iti gayang ken kalasag.

And Amaziah gathered Judah together, and appointed them by their ancestral houses, as rulers of thousands and as rulers of hundreds, for all Judah and Benjamin, —and he numbered them, from twenty years old and upwards, and found them three hundred thousand choice men, able to go forth to war, who could grasp spear and shield.

6 Nangtangdan pay isuna iti 100, 000 a mannakigubat a lallaki manipud iti Israel iti sangagasut a talento a pirak.

And he hired out of Israel, a hundred thousand heroes of valour, for a hundred talents of silver.

7 Ngem adda maysa a tao ti Dios a napan kenkuana ket kinunana, “Apo Ari, saanmo a palubosan ti armada ti Israel a sumurot kenka, ta awan ni Yahweh iti Israel-awan kadagiti tattao ti Efraim.

But, a man of God, came unto him, saying, O king! let not the host of Israel come with thee, —for Yahweh is not with Israel, [with] any of the sons of Ephraim.

8 Ngem uray no mapanka a situtured ken sipipigsa iti gubat, parmekennakanto ti Dios iti sangoanan dagiti kabusor; ta adda pannakabalin ti Dios a tumulong wenno mangparmek.”

But, if thou art going, do, be strong for the battle, —God will cause thee to fall before the enemy, for there is strength in God, to help or to cause to fall.

9 Kinuna ni Amazias iti tao ti Dios, “Ngem ania ti aramidenmi iti sangagasut a talento nga intedko iti armada ti Israel?” Insungbat ti tao ti Dios, “Ad-adu pay ti maited ni Yahweh kenka ngem iti dayta.”

And Amaziah said unto the man of God, What then shall be done as to the hundred talents, which I have given to the company of Israel? Then said the man of God, Yahweh is able to give thee much more than this.

10 Isu nga insina ni Amazias ti armada nga immay kenkuana a naggapu iti Efraim; pinagawidna manen ida. Isu a nakaungetda iti kasta unay iti Juda ket nagawidda a napalalo ti pungtotda.

So Amaziah separated them, [appointing] unto the company which had come unto him out of Ephraim, to depart unto their own place, —wherefore their anger was greatly kindled against Judah, so they returned to their own place, in a heat of anger.

11 Timmured ni Amazias ket impanguloanna dagiti tattaona a mapan iti tanap ti Asin; sadiay, pinarmekna ti sangapulo a ribu a lallaki ti Seir.

And, Amaziah, took courage, and led forth his people, and went to the valley of salt, —and smote of the sons of Seir, ten thousand;

12 Tiniliw met ti armada ti Juda ti dadduma pay a sangapulo a ribu a sibibiag. Impanda ida iti tapaw ti derraas sada intappuak ida sadiay, isu a narumekda amin.

and the sons of Judah took captive, ten thousand alive, and brought to the top of the crag, —and cast them down from the top of the crag, and, all of them, were torn asunder.

13 Ngem ti armada a pinagawid ni Amazias tapno saanda a makikadua kenkuana a mapan iti gubat ket nagsubli, rinautda dagiti siudad ti Juda manipud iti Samaria agingga iti Bet-horon. Pinapatayda ti 3, 000 kadagiti tattao ket adu ti sinamsamda.

But, as for the sons of the company which Amaziah sent back from going with him to the war, they spread themselves out against the cities of Judah, from Samaria, even unto Beth-horon, —and smote of them three thousand, and took great plunder.

14 Ita, idi nagsubli ni Amazias kalpasan iti panangpapatayda kadagiti Edomita, inyawidna dagiti didiosen dagiti tattao iti Seir, ket insaadna dagitoy a kas didiosenna. Nagdaydayaw isuna kadagitoy ken nangpuor isuna iti insenso a maipaay kadagitoy.

And so it was, after Amaziah came in from smiting the Edomites, that he brought in the gods of the sons of Seir, and set them up for himself, as gods, —and, before them, used he to bow himself down, and, unto them, used he to burn a perfume.

15 Isu a nakapungtot ni Yahweh kenni Amazias. Nangibaon ni Yahweh iti profeta kenkuana ket sinaludsodna, “Apay nga agdaydayawka kadagiti didiosen dagiti tattao a saan man laeng a makaisalakan kadagiti bukodda a tattao manipud iti imam?”

Then was kindled the anger of Yahweh, against Amaziah, —and he sent unto him a prophet, and said unto him, Wherefore hast thou sought the gods of the people, which delivered not their own people out of thy hand?

16 Ket napasamak a kabayatan nga agsasao ti profeta kenkuana, kinuna ti ari kenkuana, “Inaramiddaka kadi a mammagbaga iti ari? Agsardengkan. No agsaoka pay, bilinik dagiti soldadok a papatayendaka!” Ket nagsardeng ti profeta ket kinunana, “Ammokon nga inkeddeng ti Dios a dadaelendaka, gapu ta inaramidmo dagitoy ket saanmo nga impangag ti balakadko.”

And it came to pass, as he spake unto him, that he said to him, To be, counselor to the king, have we appointed thee? forbear thou, wherefore should they smite thee? So the prophet forbare, and said—I know that God hath determined to destroy thee, because thou hast done this, and hast not hearkened unto my counsel.

17 Kalpasanna, nakiuman ni Amazias nga ari ti Juda kadagiti mammagbaga ket nangipatulod kadagiti mensahero kenni Joas nga ari ti Israel a putot a lalaki ni Jeocaz a putot a lalaki ni Jehu, a kunana, “Umayka ket agginnubatta a rupanrupa.”

Then Amaziah king of Judah took counsel, and sent unto Joash, son of Jehoahaz son of Jehu king of Israel, saying, —Come, let us look one another in the face!

18 Ngem pinagsubli ni Joas nga ari ti Israel dagiti mensahero kenni Amazias nga ari ti Juda a kunana, “Adda maysa a siitan a kayo nga adda iti Libano ket nangipatulod iti mensahe iti maysa a sedro idiay Libano a kunana, 'Itedmo ti anakmo a babai iti anakko a lalaki a kas asawana,' ngem adda narungsot nga ayup a limmabas idiay Libano ket binaddebaddekanna ti siitan a kayo.

And Joash king of Israel sent unto Amaziah king of Judah, saying, A thistle that was in Lebanon, sent unto a cedar that was in Lebanon, saying, Come! give thy daughter unto my son to wife, —but there passed by a beast of the field that was in Lebanon, and trampled down the thistle.

19 Kinunam, 'Kitaem, pinarmekko ti Edom,' ket limmastogka. Ipannakelmo ti panagballigim ngem agtalinaedka iti pagtaengam, ta apay a dadaelem ken itinnagmo ti bagim, sika agraman ti Juda a kaduam?”

Thou hast said-Lo! thou hast smitten the Edomites, and thy heart hath lifted thee up to display honour, -Now, abide in thine own house, wherefore shouldst thou engage in strife with Misfortune, and fall, thou and Judah with thee?

20 Ngem saan a dimngeg ni Amazias gapu ta pagayatan ti Dios a mapasamak daytoy iti kasta ket maipaimana dagiti tattao ti Juda iti ima dagiti kabusorda, gapu ta dimmawatda iti pammagbaga kadagiti didiosen ti Edom.

But Amaziah hearkened not, because, from God, it was, to the end he might deliver them up into [their enemies’] hand, —because they had sought the gods of Edom.

21 Isu a rimmaut ni Joas nga ari ti Israel; isuna ken ni Amazias nga ari ti Juda ket nagsinnangoda idiay Bet-semes a masakupan ti Juda.

So Joash king of Israel came up, and they looked one another in the face, he, and Amaziah king of Judah, —in Beth-shemesh, which belongeth unto Judah.

22 Naparmek ti Juda iti sangoanan ti Israel ket naglibas a nagawid ti tunggal mannakigubat.

Then was Judah defeated, before Israel, —and they fled every man to his own home;

23 Tiniliw ni Joas nga ari ti Israel ni Amazias nga ari ti Juda a putot a lalaki ni Joas, a putot a lalaki ni Ahazias, idiay Bet-semes. Impanna isuna idiay Jerusalem ket rinebbana ti pader ti Jerusalem manipud iti Ruangan ti Efraim agingga iti Ruangan ti Suli, agrukod daytoy iti uppat a gasut a kubiko.

and, Amaziah king of Judah, son of Joash son of Jehoahaz, was taken by Joash king of Israel, in Beth-shemesh, —and he brought him to Jerusalem, and brake down the wall of Jerusalem, from the gate of Ephraim as far as the corner-gate, four hundred cubits;

24 Innalana dagiti amin a balitok ken pirak, dagiti amin a banag iti balay ti Dios a banbantayan dagiti kaputotan ni Obed Edom, ken dagiti napapateg a banbanag iti balay ti ari, nangala pay kadagiti tattao a kas balud sada nagsubli idiay Samaria.

and, all the gold and the silver and all the utensils that were found in the house of God with Obed-edom, and the treasures of the house of the king, and hostages, he took, -and returned to Samaria.

25 Nagbiag ni Amazias nga ari ti Juda a putot a lalaki ni Joas iti 15 a tawen kalpasan iti ipapatay ni Joas nga ari ti Israel a putot a lalaki ni Joacaz.

And Amaziah son of Joash king of Judah lived, after the death of Joash son of Jehoahaz king of Israel, —fifteen years.

26 Dagiti dadduma a banbanag maipapan kenni Amazias, manipud rugi agingga iti pagleppasan ket saan aya a naisurat dagitoy iti Libro dagiti Ari ti Juda ken Israel?

Now, the rest of the story of Amaziah, first and last, lo! it is written in the book of the Kings of Judah and Israel.

27 Ita, manipud iti tiempo a nagsukir ni Amazias kenni Yahweh, inrugida ti bimmusor kenkuana idiay Jerusalem. Nagkamang isuna iti Lakis ngem nangibaonda kadagiti lallaki a mangsurot kenkuana idiay Lakis ket pinapatayda isuna sadiay.

And, after the time that Amaziah turned away from following Yahweh, they made against him a conspiracy in Jerusalem, and he fled to Lachish, —but they sent after him to Lachish, and slew him there.

28 Insakayda ti bangkayna iti kabalio sada insubli idiay Jerusalem ket intanemda isuna iti nakaitaneman dagiti kapuonanna iti Siudad ti Juda.

And they brought him on horses, -and buried him with his fathers, in the city of Judah.
