1 Ta ammoyo, kakabsat, a saan a nasayang ti iyuumaymi kadakayo.
For you yourselves know, brothers, our visit to you wasn’t in vain,
2 Ammoyo a nagsagabakami iti napalabas ken nakababain ti pannakatratomi idiay Filipos, kas ammoyo. Natured kami gapu iti Diostayo a mangisao kadakayo iti ebanghelio ti Dios uray no adu ti lapped.
but having suffered before and been shamefully treated, as you know, at Philippi, we grew bold in our God to tell you the Good News of God in much conflict.
3 Ta iti pammagbagami ket saan a naggapu iti biddut, wenno naggapu iti kinarugit, wenno naggapu iti panangallilaw.
For our exhortation is not of error, nor of uncleanness, nor in deception.
4 Ngem ketdi, kas pinalubosannakami ti Dios a pangitalkan iti ebanghelio, isu nga agsaokami. Agsaokami, a saan nga ay-aywen ti tao, ngem tapno ay-aywen ti Dios. Isuna ti mangsuksukimat kadagiti pusomi.
But even as we have been approved by God to be entrusted with the Good News, so we speak—not as pleasing men, but God, who tests our hearts.
5 Ta saankami a nangaramat iti sasao a nalabes a pammadayaw iti kaanoman, a kas ammoyo, wenno kas pambar nga agagum, ti Dios ti saksimi.
For neither were we at any time found using words of flattery, as you know, nor a cloak of covetousness (God is witness),
6 Wenno nagbirokkami ti pammadayaw manipud kadagiti tattao, manipud kadakayo wenno kadagiti dadduma. Mabalinkami nga umawat ti karbengan a kas apostol ni Cristo.
nor seeking glory from men (neither from you nor from others), when we might have claimed authority as emissaries of Messiah.
7 Ngem ketdi, naannadkami kadakayo a kas iti maysa nga ina a mangliwliwa iti bukodna nga anak.
But we were gentle amongst you, like a nursing mother cherishes her own children.
8 Iti kastoy a wagas ket adda ayatmi kadakayo. Naragsakankami a mangibingay kadakayo saan laeng ti ebanghelio ti Dios ngem uray daytoy bukodmi a biag, gapu ta nagbalinkayo a napateg unay kadakami.
Even so, affectionately longing for you, we were well pleased to impart to you not the Good News of God only, but also our own souls, because you had become very dear to us.
9 Ta malagipyo, kakabsat, ti trabaho ken bannogmi. Nagtrabahokami iti aldaw ken rabii tapno saankami nga agbalin a padagsen iti siasinoman kadakayo. Bayat dayta a tiempo, inwaragawagmi ti ebanghelio ti Dios kadakayo.
For you remember, brothers, our labour and travail; for working night and day, that we might not burden any of you, we preached to you the Good News of God.
10 Dakayo dagiti saksi, ken kasta met ti Dios, no kasano kasanto, kalinteg, ken awan pakapilawan ti tignaymi kadakayo a namati.
You are witnesses with God how holy, righteously, and blamelessly we behaved ourselves towards you who believe.
11 Iti kasta met laeng a wagas, ammoyo no kasano nga iti tunggal maysa kadakayo, a kas ama kadagiti bukodna nga annak, binagaan ken pinabilegdakayo. Pinaneknekanmi
As you know, we exhorted, comforted, and implored every one of you, as a father does his own children,
12 a masapul a magnakayo iti banag a maikari iti Dios, a mangaw-awag kadakayo iti bukodna a pagarian ken dayag.
to the end that you should walk worthily of God, who calls you into his own Kingdom and glory.
13 Ta gapu iti daytoy, kankanayonmi met a pagyamanan ti Dios. Ta idi naawatyo manipud kadakami ti mensahe ti Dios a nangngegyo, inawatyo daytoy a saan a kas ti sao ti tao. Ngem ketdi, inawatyo daytoy kas iti kinapudnona, ti sao ti Dios. Daytoy a sao ti agtrabtrabaho met kadakayo a namati.
For this cause we also thank God without ceasing that when you received from us the word of the message of God, you accepted it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, God’s word, which also works in you who believe.
14 Ta dakayo, kakabsat, nagbalin a mannulad kadagiti iglesia ti Dios nga adda idiay Judea kenni Cristo Jesus. Ta sinagabayo met iti isu met laeng banbanag manipud kadagiti bukodyo a kalugaran, a kas inaramidda kadagiti Judio.
For you, brothers, became imitators of the assemblies of God which are in Judea in Messiah Yeshua; for you also suffered the same things from your own countrymen, even as they did from the Judeans
15 Isu dagiti Judio a nangpapatay kenni Apo Jesus ken dagiti profeta. Isu dagiti Judio a nangpapanaw kadatayo. Saanda a paragsaken ti Dios. Ngem ketdi, busorenda iti amin a tattao.
who killed both the Lord Yeshua and their own prophets, and drove us out, and don’t please God, and are contrary to all men,
16 Pinaritandakami nga agsao kadagiti Hentil tapno maisalakanda. Ti pagbanaganna dayta ket kankanayonda a naynayonan dagiti basbasolda. Umayto ti pungtot kadakuada iti kamaudiananna.
forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they may be saved, to fill up their sins always. But wrath has come on them to the uttermost.
17 Naisinakami kadakayo kakabsat iti ababa a tiempo, iti presensia, saan nga iti puso. Inaramidmi ti amin a kabaelanmi nga addaan ti nakaro a tarigagay a makita ti rupayo.
But we, brothers, being bereaved of you for a short season in presence, not in heart, tried even harder to see your face with great desire,
18 Ta tinarigagayanmi ti umay kadakayo, Siak, ni Pablo maminsan manen, ngem nilappedannakami ni Satanas.
because we wanted to come to you—indeed, I, Paul, once and again—but Satan hindered us.
19 Ta ania ti namnamami iti masakbayan, wenno rag-o, wenno korona iti pannakaidayaw iti sangoanan ni Apo Jesus iti iyaayna?
For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? Isn’t it even you, before our Lord Yeshua at his coming?
20 Ta dakayo ti dayag ken ragsakmi.
For you are our glory and our joy.
