< I Samuel 27 >

1 Kinuna ni David iti nakemna, “Addanto ti aldaw a matayak babaen iti ima ni Saul; awan ti kasayaatan nga aramidek no di ti aglibas a mapan idiay daga dagiti Filisteo; Isardengton ni Saul ti panangbirbirokna kaniak iti amin a beddeng ti Israel; iti kastoy a wagas, makalibasak manipud iti imana.”
And David said, unto his own heart, Now, shall I be swept off, in a single day, by the hand of Saul, —there is nothing for me better than that I, escape, into the land of the Philistines, so shall Saul give up seeking for me any more, in any of the bounds of Israel, so shall I escape out of his hand.
2 Nagrubwat ni David ket nagdaliasatda, isuna ken dagiti innem a gasut a lallaki a kaduana, a nagturong kenni Akis nga anak ni Maoc, nga ari ti Gat.
And David arose, and he and the six hundred men that were with him passed over, unto Achish son of Maoch, king of Gath.
And David abode with Achish in Gath, he and his men, each man with his household, —David with his two wives, Ahinoam the Jezreelitess, and Abigail wife of Nabal, the Carmelite.
4 Naipadamag kenni Saul a naglibas ni David a nagturong idiay Gat, isu a saannan a binirok isuna.
And, when it was told Saul, that David had fled to Gath, he added no more, to seek him.
5 Kinuna ni David kenni Akis, “No nasayaatak iti panagkitam, ikkandak koma iti maysa a lugar iti maysa kadagiti siudad iti pagilian, a mabalinko a pagnaedan: ta apay koma a makipagnaed ti adipenmo iti siudad ti ari?
Then said David unto Achish—If, I pray thee, I have found favour in thine eyes, let them give me a place in one of the cities in the country, that I may dwell there, —for why should thy servant dwell in the royal city, with thee?
6 Isu nga iti dayta nga aldaw, inted ni Akis kenkuana ti Siklag; dayta ti makagapu a ti Siglak ket kukua dagiti ari ti Juda agingga kadagitoy a tiempo.
So Achish gave him, on that day, Ziklag, —wherefore Ziklag hath pertained unto the kings of Judah, unto this day.
7 Maysa a tawen ken uppat a bulan a nagnaed ni David iti daga dagiti Filisteo.
And the number of the days that David dwelt in the country of the Philistines became a year and four months.
8 Rinaut ni David ken dagiti tattaona dagiti nadumaduma a luglugar, rinautna dagiti tattao a taga-Gesur, Girzi ken Amalec; ta dagitoy dagiti agnanaed iti daga, agturong idiay Shur, agingga iti daga ti Egipto. Agnanaedda sadiay iti nabayag unayen a tiempo.
And David and his men went up, and made a raid against the Geshurites and the Gizrites and the Amalekites, —for, they, were the inhabitants of the land who had been from age-past times, as thou enterest Shur, even as far as the land of Egypt.
9 Rinaut ni David ti daga ket awan a pulos ti imbatina a lalaki wenno babai a sibibiag; innalana dagiti karnero, dagiti baka, dagiti asno, dagiti kamelio, ken dagiti pagan-anay; kalpasan daytoy agawid isuna ket dumagas iti ayan ni Akis.
Now, when David would smite a land, he used to save alive neither man nor woman, —but took sheep and oxen, and asses and camels, and apparel, and returned, and came in unto Achish.
10 Saludsoden ni Akis, “Siasino ti rinautmo ita nga aldaw?” Isungbat ni David, “Rinautko ti abagatan a paset ti Juda,” wenno “Ti abagatan a masakupan iti tribu ti Jerameel,” wenno “Ti abagatan a paset dagiti Kineo.”
Then said Achish, Whither have ye made a raid, to-day? And David said—Against the South of Judah, or against the South of the Jerahmeelites, or as far as the South of the Kenites.
11 Awan ti sibibiag nga ibatbati ni David nga uray maysa a lalaki wenno babai a mangidanon kadagitoy idiay Gat, a kunana, “Tapno saanda nga ibaga ti maipapan kadatayo, 'Kastoy ti aramid ni David.”' Dastoy ti masansan nga ar-aramidenna iti panagnaedna iti pagilian dagiti Filisteo.
But, neither man nor woman, used David to save alive, to bring into Gath, for he said, Lest they tell of us, saying, —So, hath David done, and, such, his manner, all the days that he hath dwelt in the country of the Philistines.
12 Namati ni Akis kenni David, a kunana, “Pinagurana iti kasta unay dagiti tattaona nga Israelita kenkuana; isu nga agbalinto isuna nga adipenko iti agnanayon.”
And Achish believed in David, saying, —He hath made himself, odious, unto his own people, unto Israel, therefore shall he be my servant all his life long.
