< I Samuel 22 >

1 Pimmanaw ngarud ni David sadiay ket napan naglemmeng iti maysa a rukib idiay Adullam. Idi nangngeg daytoy dagiti kakabsatna ken amin nga adda iti balay ti amana, simmalogda iti ayanna.
David therefore departed from there and escaped to Adullam’s cave. When his brothers and all his father’s house heard it, they went down there to him.
2 Amin a marirriribukan, amin a nakautang ken amin a saan a mapmapnek- naummongda amin iti ayanna. Ni David ti nagbalin a panguloda. Adda agarup uppat a gasut a lallaki a kaduana.
Everyone who was in distress, everyone who was in debt, and everyone who was discontented gathered themselves to him; and he became captain over them. There were with him about four hundred men.
3 Kalpasanna, pimmanaw ni David sadiay ket napan iti Mizpa idiay Moab. Kinunana iti ari ti Moab, “Ipalubosmo koma a makipagnaed kenka ti amak ken ti inak agingga a maammoak no ania ti aramiden ti Dios para kaniak.”
David went from there to Mizpeh of Moab; and he said to the king of Moab, “Please let my father and my mother come out to you, until I know what God will do for me.”
4 Imbatina ngarud ida iti ari ti Moab. Nakipagnaed ngarud kenkuana ti ama ken ti ina ni David kabayatan ti kaaddana iti paglemlemmenganna.
He brought them before the king of Moab; and they lived with him all the time that David was in the stronghold.
5 Kalpasanna, kinuna ni profeta Gad kenni David, “Saankan nga agtalinaed iti paglemlemmengam. Pumanawka ket mapanka iti daga ti Juda.” Isu a pimmanaw ni David sadiay ket napan iti kabakiran ti Heret.
The prophet Gad said to David, “Don’t stay in the stronghold. Depart, and go into the land of Judah.” Then David departed, and came into the forest of Hereth.
6 Nangngeg ni Saul a naammoanen ti ayan ni David, kaduana dagiti lallaki a tattaona. Ita, agtugtugaw idi ni Saul idiay Gabaa, iti sirok ti kayo a tamarisko idiay Rama, iggemna ti gayangna ken nakapalikmut kenkuana dagiti amin nga adipenna.
Saul heard that David was discovered, with the men who were with him. Now Saul was sitting in Gibeah, under the tamarisk tree in Ramah, with his spear in his hand, and all his servants were standing around him.
7 Kinuna ni Saul kadagiti adipenna a nakatakder iti aglawlawna, “Dumngegkayo ita, tattao ti Benjamin! Ikkannakayonto kadi ti anak ni Jesse iti taltalon ken pagmulaan iti ubas? Pagbalinennakayonto kadi a pangulo ti rinibribu ken pangulo ti ginasut-gasut,
Saul said to his servants who stood around him, “Hear now, you Benjamites! Will the son of Jesse give everyone of you fields and vineyards? Will he make you all captains of thousands and captains of hundreds?
8 a kas maisubad kadakayo amin nga agpangpanggep iti dakes maibusor kaniak? Awan man laeng kadakayo ti nangipakaammo kaniak idi nakitulag ti anakko iti anak ni Jesse. Awan ti uray maysa kadakayo ti naasian kaniak! Awan man laeng kadakayo ti nangipakaammo kaniak nga inallukoy ti anakko ni David nga adipenko maibusor kaniak. Ita, aglemlemmeng isuna ket agur-uray iti nasayaat a gundaway a mangdarup kaniak.”
Is that why all of you have conspired against me, and there is no one who discloses to me when my son makes a treaty with the son of Jesse, and there is none of you who is sorry for me, or discloses to me that my son has stirred up my servant against me, to lie in wait, as it is today?”
9 Kalpasanna, simmungbat ni Doeg a taga-Edom, a nakatakder iti abay dagiti adipen ni Saul, kinunana, “Nakitak ti anak ni Jesse a dimteng idiay Nob, iti ayan ni Ahimelec nga anak ni Ahitub.
Then Doeg the Edomite, who stood by the servants of Saul, answered and said, “I saw the son of Jesse coming to Nob, to Ahimelech the son of Ahitub.
10 Inkararagna kenni Yahweh a tulonganna koma isuna, ken impaayna pay kenkuana dagiti kiniddawna ken ti kampilan ni Goliat a Filisteo.”
He inquired of Yahweh for him, gave him food, and gave him the sword of Goliath the Philistine.”
11 Ket nangibaon ti ari iti mangayab iti padi a ni Ahimelec nga anak ni Ahitub ken amin nga adda iti balay ti amana, dagiti padi nga adda idiay Nob. Aminda ket immay iti ayan ti ari.
Then the king sent to call Ahimelech the priest, the son of Ahitub, and all his father’s house, the priests who were in Nob; and they all came to the king.
12 Kinuna ni Saul, “Dumngegka ita, anak ni Ahitub.” Simmungbat isuna, “Adtoyak, apok.”
Saul said, “Hear now, you son of Ahitub.” He answered, “Here I am, my lord.”
13 Kinuna ni Saul kenkuana, “Apay a pinagpanggepandak iti dakes, sika ken ti anak ni Jesse, nga inikkam pay isuna iti tinapay, ken maysa a kampilan, ken inkararagmo iti Dios a tulonganna koma isuna tapno bumusor kaniak, tapno makapaglemmeng a kas iti ar-aramidenna ita?”
Saul said to him, “Why have you conspired against me, you and the son of Jesse, in that you have given him bread, and a sword, and have inquired of God for him, that he should rise against me, to lie in wait, as it is today?”
14 Ket simmungbat ni Ahimelec iti ari a kunana, “Siasino kadagiti amin nga adipenmo ti napudno unay a kas kenni David, a manugang ti ari ken pangulo dagiti guardiam, ken mararaem iti balaymo?
Then Ahimelech answered the king, and said, “Who among all your servants is so faithful as David, who is the king’s son-in-law, captain of your body guard, and honored in your house?
15 “Ita kadi laeng ti umuna a gundaway nga inkararagko iti Dios a tulonganna isuna? Adayo nga aramidek dayta! Saan koma nga ipabasol ti ari ti aniaman a banag iti adipenna wenno iti amin nga adda iti balay ti amak. Ta awan ti ammo ti adipenmo maipanggep iti daytoy a banag.”
Have I today begun to inquire of God for him? Be it far from me! Don’t let the king impute anything to his servant, nor to all the house of my father; for your servant knew nothing of all this, less or more.”
16 Simmungbat ti ari, “Awan duadua a matayka, Ahimelec, sika ken amin nga adda iti balay ti amam.”
The king said, “You shall surely die, Ahimelech, you and all your father’s house.”
17 Kinuna ti ari kadagiti guardia a nakatakder iti aglawlawna, “Papatayenyo dagiti papadi ni Yahweh. Gapu ta nakikaduada met kenni David, ken gapu ta ammoda a pimmanaw isuna, ngem saanda nga impakaammmo daytoy kaniak.” Ngem saan a maitured dagiti adipen ti ari a papatayen dagiti papadi ni Yahweh.
The king said to the guard who stood about him, “Turn and kill the priests of Yahweh, because their hand also is with David, and because they knew that he fled and didn’t disclose it to me.” But the servants of the king wouldn’t put out their hand to fall on the priests of Yahweh.
18 Ket kinuna ti ari kenni Doeg, “Patayem dagiti papadi.” Nagpasango ngarud ni Doeg a taga-Edom ket dinarupna dagiti papadi; nakapatay isuna iti dayta nga aldaw iti walopulo ket lima a tattao a nakasuot iti efod.
The king said to Doeg, “Turn and attack the priests!” Doeg the Edomite turned, and he attacked the priests, and he killed on that day eighty-five people who wore a linen ephod.
19 Babaen iti tadem ti kampilan, rinautna ti Nob a siudad dagiti papadi, amin a lallaki ken babbai, ubbing ken maladaga, bakbaka ken dagiti asno ken dagiti karnero. Pinatayna amin ida babaen iti tadem ti kampilan.
He struck Nob, the city of the priests, with the edge of the sword—both men and women, children and nursing babies, and cattle, donkeys, and sheep, with the edge of the sword.
20 Ngem maysa kadagiti annak ni Ahimelec nga anak ni Ahitub a managan Abiatar ti nakalibas ket napan kenni David.
One of the sons of Ahimelech the son of Ahitub, named Abiathar, escaped and fled after David.
21 Imbaga ni Abiatar kenni David a pinapatay ni Saul dagiti papadi ni Yahweh.
Abiathar told David that Saul had slain Yahweh’s priests.
22 Kinuna ni David kenni Abiatar, “Iti dayta nga aldaw a kaadda sadiay ni Doeg a taga-Edom, ammokon nga awan duadua nga idanonna kenni Saul. Siak ti akinbasol iti ipapatay ti amin a pamilia ti amam!
David said to Abiathar, “I knew on that day, when Doeg the Edomite was there, that he would surely tell Saul. I am responsible for the death of all the persons of your father’s house.
23 Makipaggianka kaniak ken saanka nga agbuteng. Ta ti mangtartarigagay a mangpukaw iti biagmo ket isu met laeng ti mangtartarigagay a mangpukaw iti biagko. Natalgedkanto iti ayanko.”
Stay with me. Don’t be afraid, for he who seeks my life seeks your life. You will be safe with me.”
