< I Samuel 10 >

1 Ket innala ni Samuel ti maysa a pagkargaan nga aglaon iti lana, imbukbukna daytoy iti ulo ni Saul, ket inagkanna isuna. Kinunana, “Pudno a ni Yahweh ti nangpulot kenka a mangituray iti tawidna.
Then Samuel took the vial of oil and poured it on his head, then kissed him and said, “Has not the LORD anointed you to be prince over his inheritance?
2 Inton panawannak ita nga aldaw, makasarakkanto iti dua a lallaki iti asideg ti tanem ni Rachel, iti masakupan ti Benjamin idiay Selsa. Ibagadanto kenka, 'Nasarakanen dagiti asno a birbirokem. Ita, nagsardengen nga agdandanag ti amam maipanggep kadagiti asno, ket madandanaganen kenka, a kunkunana, “Ania ti aramidek iti anakko?”'
When you have departed from me today, then you will find two men by Rachel’s tomb, on the border of Benjamin at Zelzah. They will tell you, ‘The donkeys which you went to look for have been found; and behold, your father has stopped caring about the donkeys and is anxious for you, saying, “What shall I do for my son?”’
3 Kalpasanna, inton makaadayoka bassit manipud sadiay, ket makadanonkanto iti kayo a lugo iti Tabor. Masabatmonto sadiay ti tallo a lallaki a mapan iti Dios idiay Betel, ti maysa ket nakaukod iti tallo nga urbon a kalding, ti maysa ket nakaawit iti tallo a tinapay, ken ti maysa ket nakaawit iti lalat a naglaon iti arak.
“Then you will go on forward from there, and you will come to the oak of Tabor. Three men will meet you there going up to God to Bethel: one carrying three young goats, and another carrying three loaves of bread, and another carrying a container of wine.
4 Kablaawandankanto ken ikkandakanto iti dua a tinapay, nga awatemto manipud kadagiti imada.
They will greet you and give you two loaves of bread, which you shall receive from their hand.
5 Kalpasan dayta, makadanonkanto iti turod ti Dios, nga ayan ti pagkamkampoan dagiti Filisteo. Inton makasangpetka iti siudad, makasabatkanto iti maysa a bunggoy dagiti profeta a sumalsalog manipud iti nangato a disso a nakaiggem iti arpa, pandereta, plauta, ken lira; agipadtodanto.
“After that you will come to the hill of God, where the garrison of the Philistines is; and it will happen, when you have come there to the city, that you will meet a band of prophets coming down from the high place with a lute, a tambourine, a pipe, and a harp before them; and they will be prophesying.
6 Ti Espiritu ni Yahweh ket umayto kenka, ket makipagpadtokanto kadakuada, ken agbalinkanto a naidumduma a tao.
Then the LORD’s Spirit will come mightily on you, then you will prophesy with them and will be turned into another man.
7 Ita, inton dumteng kenka dagitoy a pagilasinan, aramidem ti aniaman a kayat ti imam nga aramiden, ta ti Dios ket adda kenka.
Let it be, when these signs have come to you, that you do what is appropriate for the occasion; for God is with you.
8 Umun-unaka a sumalog idiay Gilgal. Ket sumalogakto iti ayanmo tapno mangidatag kadagiti daton a mapuoran ken mangidaton kadagiti daton a pakikappia. Agurayka iti pito nga aldaw agingga nga umayak iti ayanmo ket ipakitak kenka ti masapul nga aramidem.”
“Go down ahead of me to Gilgal; and behold, I will come down to you to offer burnt offerings and to sacrifice sacrifices of peace offerings. Wait seven days, until I come to you and show you what you are to do.”
9 Idi timmalikud ni Saul tapno panawanna ni Samuel, innikkan isuna ti Dios iti sabali a puso. Ket napasamak amin dagitoy a pagilasinan iti dayta nga aldaw.
It was so, that when he had turned his back to go from Samuel, God gave him another heart; and all those signs happened that day.
10 Idi nakadanonda iti turod, nakasabat isuna iti maysa bunggoy dagiti profeta, ket sibibileg nga immay kenkuana ti Espiritu ti Dios isu a nakipagpadto met isuna kadakuada.
When they came there to the hill, behold, a band of prophets met him; and the Spirit of God came mightily on him, and he prophesied among them.
11 Idi nakita isuna dagiti amin a makaam-ammo idi kenkuana a makipagpadpadto isuna kadagiti profeta, kinuna dagiti tattao iti tunggal maysa, “Ania ti napasamak iti lalaki a putot ni Kis? Maysa kadi itan ni Saul kadagiti profeta?”
When all who knew him before saw that, behold, he prophesied with the prophets, then the people said to one another, “What is this that has come to the son of Kish? Is Saul also among the prophets?”
12 Simmungbat ti maysa a tao a naggapu iti isu met laeng a lugar, “Ket siasino koma met aya ti amada?” Gapu iti daytoy, nagbalin daytoy a pagsasao, “Maysa kadi metten ni Saul kadagiti profeta?”
One from the same place answered, “Who is their father?” Therefore it became a proverb, “Is Saul also among the prophets?”
13 Idi nalpas iti panagipadpadtona, napan isuna iti nangato a disso.
When he had finished prophesying, he came to the high place.
14 Ket kinuna ti uliteg ni Saul kenkuana ken iti adipenna, “Napnapananyo?” Ket simmungbat isuna, “Binirokmi dagiti asno; idi saanmi dagitoy a mabirokan, napankami kenni Samuel.”
Saul’s uncle said to him and to his servant, “Where did you go?” He said, “To seek the donkeys. When we saw that they were not found, we came to Samuel.”
15 Kinuna ti uliteg ni Saul, “Ibagayo kaniak no ania ti imbaga ni Samuel kadakayo.”
Saul’s uncle said, “Please tell me what Samuel said to you.”
16 Simmungbat ni Saul iti ulitegna, “Nalawag nga imbagana kadakami a nasarakanen dagiti asno.” Ngem saanna nga imbaga kenkuana ti banag maipanggep iti pagarian a sinarita ni Samuel.
Saul said to his uncle, “He told us plainly that the donkeys were found.” But concerning the matter of the kingdom, of which Samuel spoke, he did not tell him.
17 Ita, inayaban ni Samuel dagiti tattao iti sangoanan ni Yahweh idiay Mispa.
Samuel called the people together to the LORD to Mizpah;
18 Kinunana kadagiti tattao ti Israel, “Kastoy ti kinuna ni Yahweh, a Dios ti Israel: 'Inruarko ti Israel manipud idiay Egipto, ken inispalkayo manipud iti ima dagiti taga-Egipto, ken manipud iti ima dagiti amin a pagarian a nangidadanes kadakayo.'
and he said to the children of Israel, “The LORD, the God of Israel, says ‘I brought Israel up out of Egypt and I delivered you out of the hand of the Egyptians, and out of the hand of all the kingdoms that oppressed you.’
19 Ngem ita nga aldaw linaksidyo ti Diosyo, a mangisalsalakan kadakayo manipud iti amin a didigra ken pakariribukanyo; ken imbagayo kenkuana, 'Mangisaadka iti maysa nga ari a mangituray kadakami.' Ita, idatagyo dagiti bagbagiyo iti sangoanan ni Yahweh sigun kadagiti tribu ken kadagiti puliyo.”
But you have today rejected your God, who himself saves you out of all your calamities and your distresses; and you have said to him, ‘No! Set a king over us!’ Now therefore present yourselves before the LORD by your tribes and by your thousands.”
20 Isu a pinaasideg ni Samuel dagiti amin a tribu ti Israel, ket napili ti tribu ni Benjamin.
So Samuel brought all the tribes of Israel near, and the tribe of Benjamin was chosen.
21 pinaasidegna ti tribu ni Benjamin sigun kadagiti pulida; ket napili ti puli dagiti Matrita; ket napili ni Saul nga anak a lalaki ni Kis. Ngem idi napanda a binirok isuna, saanda a mabirokan isuna.
He brought the tribe of Benjamin near by their families and the family of the Matrites was chosen. Then Saul the son of Kish was chosen; but when they looked for him, he could not be found.
22 Kalpasanna, kayat dagiti tattao ti agdamag pay iti Dios, “Adda kadi pay sabali a lalaki nga umay?” Simmungbat ni Yahweh, “Naglemmeng isuna kadagiti gargaret.”
Therefore they asked of the LORD further, “Is there yet a man to come here?” The LORD answered, “Behold, he has hidden himself among the baggage.”
23 Timmarayda ngarud a mapan mangala kenni Saul sadiay. Idi timmakder isuna iti tengnga dagiti tattao, nataytayag isuna ngem kadagiti tattao ket pagat-abagana laeng ida.
They ran and got him there. When he stood among the people, he was higher than any of the people from his shoulders and upward.
24 Ket kinuna ni Samuel kadagiti tattao, “Makitayo kadi ti tao a pinili ni Yahweh? Awan iti kas kenkuana kadigiti amin a tattao!” Impukkaw dagiti amin a tattao, “Agbiag ti ari!”
Samuel said to all the people, “Do you see him whom the LORD has chosen, that there is no one like him among all the people?” All the people shouted and said, “Long live the king!”
25 Kalpasanna, imbaga ni Samuel kadagiti tattao dagiti kaugalian ken pagannurotan iti kinaari, insuratna dagitoy iti maysa a libro, ket inkabilna iti sangoanan ni Yahweh. Kalpasanna, pinagawid ni Samuel dagiti amin a tattao, tunggal maysa iti bukodna a balay.
Then Samuel told the people the regulations of the kingdom, and wrote it in a book and laid it up before the LORD. Samuel sent all the people away, every man to his house.
26 Nagawid met ni Saul iti balayna idiay Gabaa, ket kimmuyog kenkuana dagiti dadduma a napipigsa a lallaki, nga akin-puso kadagiti sinagid ti Dios.
Saul also went to his house in Gibeah; and the army went with him, whose hearts God had touched.
27 Ngem kinuna dagiti dadduma a lallaki nga awan serserbina, “Kasanonatayo a maisalakan daytoy a tao?” Inumsi dagitoy a tattao ni Saul ken saanda a nangiyeg kadagiti aniaman a sagut kenkuana. Ngem nagulimek laeng ni Saul.
But certain worthless fellows said, “How could this man save us?” They despised him, and brought him no tribute. But he held his peace.
