1 Kinuna ni Elias a taga-Tisbe a masakupan ti Galaad, kenni Ahab, “Iti nagan ni Yahweh nga adda iti agnanayon a Dios ti Israel, a pagserserbiak, awanto ti linnaaw wenno tudo kadagitoy a tawtawen malaksid no ibagak nga umadda.”
And Eliu the prophet, the Thesbite of Thesbae of Galaad, said to Achaab, As the Lord God of hosts, the God of Israel, lives, before whom I stand, there shall not be these years dew nor rain, except by the word of my mouth.
2 Immay ti sao ni Yahweh kenni Elias a kunana,
And the word of the Lord came to Eliu, [saying],
3 “Pumanawka ditoy ket mapanka iti daya; aglemmengka iti waig ti Kerit nga adda iti daya ti Jordan.
Depart hence eastward, and hide thee by the brook of Chorrath, that is before Jordan.
4 Uminomkanto iti danum iti waig ket binilinkon dagiti uwak a pakanendakanto sadiay.
And it shall be [that] thou shalt drink water of the brook, and I will charge the ravens to feed thee there.
5 Napan ngarud ni Elias ket inaramidna ti kas iti sao nga imbilin ni Yahweh. Napan nagnaed isuna idiay igid ti waig ti Kerit, nga adda iti daya ti Jordan.
And Eliu did according to the word of the Lord, and he sat by the brook of Chorrath before Jordan.
6 Nangyeg dagiti uwak kenkuana iti tinapay ken karne iti agsapa ken iti rabii, ket imminum isuna iti waig.
And the ravens brought him loaves in the morning, and flesh in the evening and he drank water of the brook.
7 Ngem saan a nagbayag, natianan ti waig gapu ta saan a nagtudtudo iti daga.
And it came to pass after some time, that the brook was dried up, because there had been no rain upon the earth.
8 Immay ti sao ni Yahweh kenkuana a kinunana,
And the word of the Lord came to Eliu, [saying],
9 “Agrubwatka, mapanka idiay Sarefat a masakupan ti Sidon, ket agnaedka sadiay. Dumngegka, binilinko ti maysa a balo a babai sadiay a mangisabetto iti kasapulam.”
Arise, and go to Sarepta of the Sidonian [land]: behold, I have there commanded a widow-woman to maintain thee.
10 Nagrubuat ngarud isuna ket napan idiay Sarefat ket idi makadanon iti pagserkan ti siudad, adda maysa a balo a babai sadiay a mangaykayo. Isu nga immawag isuna kenkuana ket kinunana, “Pangngaasim ta iyegannak iti bassit a danum tapno uminomak.”
And he arose and went to Sarepta, and came to the gate of the city: and, behold, a widow-woman was there gathering sticks; and Eliu cried after her, and said to her, Fetch me, I pray thee, a little water in a vessel, that I may drink.
11 Bayat a mapmapan ti balo tapno mangala iti danum, immawag ni Elias kenkuana ket kinunana, “Pangngaasim ta iyegannak iti maysa a tinapay.”
And she went to fetch it; and Eliu cried after her, and said, Bring me, I pray thee, a morsel of the bread that is in thy hand.
12 Simmungbat ti balo, “Iti nagan ni Yahweh a Diosmo nga adda iti agnanayon, awan ti tinapayko, ngem adda sangarakem laeng nga arina iti burnay ken sangkabassit a lana iti garapon. Kitaem, mangal-alaak iti dua a kayo a pagsungrod tapno panglutok iti daytoy nga agpaay kaniak ken iti anakko a lalaki, tapno makapangankami ket kalpasanna, mataykami.”
And the woman said, [As] the Lord thy God lives, I have not a cake, but only a handful of meal in the pitcher, and a little oil in a cruse, and, behold, I am going to gather two sticks, and I shall go in and dress it for myself and my children, and we shall eat it and die.
13 Kinuna ni Elias kenkuana, “Saanka nga agdanag. Mapanka ket aramidem ti imbagam, ngem iyaramidannak nga umuna iti sangkabassit a tinapay ket iyegmo kaniak. Ket kalpasanna, agaramidka iti para kenka ken iti anakmo.
And Eliu said to her, Be of good courage, go in and do according to thy word: but make me thereof a little cake, and thou shalt bring [it] out to me first, and thou shalt make [some] for thyself and thy children last.
14 Ta kuna ni Yahweh a Dios ti Israel, 'Saanto a maibusan ti burnay ti arina, ket saan pay nga agsardeng ti panagayus ti garapon ti lana, agingga iti aldaw a mangipatulod ni Yahweh iti tudo iti daga.”
For thus saith the Lord, The pitcher of meal shall not fail, and the cruse of oil shall not diminish, until the day that the Lord gives rain upon the earth.
15 Isu nga inaramidna ti imbaga ni Elias kenkuana, ket isuna ken ti anakna agraman ni Elias, adda umanay a taraonda iti adu nga aldaw.
And the woman went and did [so], and did eat, she, and he, and her children.
16 Saan a naibusan ti burnay ti arina, ken saan a naibusan ti garapon iti lana, kas iti imbaga ti sao ni Yahweh, nga imbagana babaen kenni Elias.
And the pitcher of meal failed not, and the cruse of oil was not diminished, according to the word of the Lord which he spoke by the hand of Eliu.
17 Kalpasan dagidiay a banbanag, nagsakit ti anak ti balo nga akin-kukua iti balay. Nakaro unay ti sakitna nga uray la awanen ti anges a nabati kenkuana.
And it came to pass afterward, that the son of the woman the mistress of the house was sick; and his sickness was very severe, until there was no breath left in him.
18 Isu a kinuna ti balo kenni Elias, “Ania ti basolko kenka, tao ti Dios? Immayka kadi kaniak tapno ipalagipmo dagiti basolko ken patayem ti anakko?”
And she said to Eliu, What have I to do with thee, O man of God? hast thou come in to me to bring my sins to remembrance, and to slay my son?
19 Ket simmungbat ni Elias iti balo, “Itedmo kaniak ti anakmo.” Innala ni Elias ti ubing kadagiti takiag ti balo ket binagkatna nga impan iti akin-ngato a siled a pagturturoganna, ket impaidanna ti ubing iti pagiddaanna.
And Eliu said to the woman, Give me thy son. And he took him out of her bosom, and took him up to the chamber in which he himself lodged, and laid him on the bed.
20 Immasug isuna kenni Yahweh ket kinunana, “O Yahweh a Diosko, nangyegka met kadi iti didigra iti balo a pakipagnanaedak, babaen iti panangpataymo iti anakna?”
And Eliu cried aloud, and said, Alas, O Lord, the witness of the widow with whom I sojourn, thou hast wrought evil [for her] in slaying her son.
21 Ket namitlo a nagpakleb ni Elias iti bagi ti ubing; immasug isuna kenni Yahweh ket kinunana, “O Yahweh a Diosko, agpakaasiak kenka, pangngaasim ta isublim koma ti biag daytoy nga ubing.”
And he breathed on the child thrice, and called on the Lord, and said, O Lord my God, let, I pray thee, the soul of this child return to him.
22 Impangag ni Yahweh ti timek ni Elias; naisubli ti biag ti ubing ket nagbiag ti ubing.
And it was so, and the child cried out,
23 Inruar ni Elias ti ubing iti kuartona sana inyulog ket intedna iti inana, ket kinunana, “Adtoy, sibibiag ti anakmo.”
and he brought him down from the upper chamber into the house, and gave him to his mother; and Eliu said, See, thy son lives.
24 Kinuna ti babai kenni Elias, “Ita, ammokon a taonaka ti Dios, ken ti sao ni Yahweh iti ngiwatmo ket pudno.”
And the woman said to Eliu, Behold, I know that thou [art] a man of God, and the word of the Lord in thy mouth [is] true.
