< 1 Juan 2 >

1 Patpatgek nga annakko, isursuratko dagitoy a banbanag kadakayo tapno saankayo koma nga agbasol. Ngem no agbasol ti siasinoman, addaantayo iti mangibabaet iti Ama, ti nalinteg a ni Jesu-Cristo.
My children, I am writing to you to keep you from sinning. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father – Jesus Christ, the righteous.
2 Isuna ti nakapnekan ti Dios a nakapakawanan dagiti basoltayo, ket saan laeng a para kadatayo, ngem kasta met a maipaay iti sangalubongan.
He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not for ours only, but the sins of the whole world.
3 Babaen iti daytoy, ammotayo nga am-ammotayo isuna, no tungtungpalentayo dagiti bilbilinna.
It is by keeping God’s commands that we can be sure we know him.
4 Isuna nga agkunkuna nga, “Am-ammok ti Dios,” ngem saanna met a tungtungpalen dagiti bilin ti Dios ket maysa nga ulbod, ken ti kinapudno ket awan kenkuana.
Whoever says “I know him,” but does not keep his commands, is a liar. The truth has no place in them.
5 Ngem siasinoman a mangsalimetmet iti saona, pudno nga iti dayta a tao ket nagbalin a naan-anay ti ayat ti Dios. Babaen iti daytoy, ammotayo nga addatayo kenkuana.
But the person who keeps God’s word, in them the love of God has indeed reached its perfection. This is how we can be sure we are in him:
6 Isuna nga agkunkuna nga agtaltalinaed isuna iti Dios ket rumbeng met ngarud a magmagna a kas iti pannagna ni Jesu-Cristo.
whoever claims to live in him should live just as Jesus did.
7 Ay-ayatek, saan a baro ti bilin nga isursuratko kadakayo, ngem daytoy ket daan a bilin nga addan kadakayo manipud idi punganay. Ti daan a bilin ket isu ti sao a nangngeganyo.
Dear friends, it is no new command that I am writing to you, but an old command, which you have had from the beginning. That old command is the message you have already heard.
8 Nupay kasta, baro a bilin ti isursuratko para kadakayo, a pudno kenni Cristo ken kadakayo, gapu ta ti sipnget ket aglablabasen, ken ti pudno a lawag ket agranraniagen.
Yet, in a way, it is a new command that I am writing to you – which is shown true in Christ’s life and in yours – for the darkness is passing away and the true light is already shining.
9 Isuna nga agkunkuna nga isu ket adda iti lawag ket gurguraenna met ti kabsatna, ket adda iti sipnget, nga uray ita.
The person who says that they are in the light, and yet hates others, is still in the darkness.
10 Isuna a mangay-ayat iti kabsatna ket agtaltalinaed iti lawag ken awan iti tiempo ti pannakaitublak kenkuana.
The person who loves others is always in the light, and there is nothing within them to cause them to stumble.
11 Ngem isuna a manggurgura iti kabsatna ket adda iti sipnget ken magmagna iti sipnget; saanna nga ammo no sadino ti papananna, gapu ta kinullaapan ti sipnget dagiti matana.
The person who hates is in the dark. They stumble along in the darkness; they do not know where they are going because the darkness blinds them.
12 Agsuratak kadakayo, patpatgek nga annak, gapu ta napakawanen dagiti basbasolyo maigapu iti nagan ni Cristo.
Little children, I am writing to you because your sins have been forgiven for Christ’s sake.
13 Agsuratak kadakayo, amma, gapu ta ammoyo isuna nga addan idi punganay. Agsuratak kadakayo, agtutubo a, gapu ta napagballigianyo ti diablo. Nagsuratak kadakayo, ub-ubbing, gapu ta am-ammoyo ti Ama.
Parents, I am writing to you because you have come to know him who has been from the beginning. Young people, I am writing to you because you have conquered the evil one. Children, I write to you because you have come to know the Father.
14 Nagsuratak kadakayo, amma, gapu ta ammoyo isuna nga addan idi punganay. Nagsuratak kadakayo, agtutubo, gapu ta napigsakayo, ken ti sao ti Dios ket agtaltalinaed kadakayo, ken napagballigianyo ti diablo.
Parents, I write to you because you have learned to know him who has been from the beginning. Young people, I write to you because you are strong, and God’s message is always in your hearts, and you have conquered the evil one.
15 Saanyo nga ayaten ti lubong wenno dagiti banbanag nga adda iti lubong. No addaman ti mangay-ayat iti lubong, ti ayat ti Ama ket awan kenkuana.
Do not love the world or what the world can offer. When anyone loves the world, there is no love for the Father in them.
16 Ta amin nga adda iti lubong, ti kinaderrep ti lasag, ti kinaderrep dagiti mata, ken ti kinapalangguad iti biag, ket saan a naggapu iti Ama ngem naggapu iti lubong.
For all that the world can offer – the desires for physical pleasure, the enticements to the eye, the arrogance of wealth – belongs, not to the Father, but to the world.
17 Ti lubong ken ti tarigagayna ket mapukaw. Ngem siasinoman nga agaramid iti pagayatan ti Dios ket agtalinaed iti agnanayon. (aiōn g165)
And the world, and all that it gratifies, is passing away, but they who do God’s will remain for ever. (aiōn g165)
18 Annak, daytoy ti maudi nga oras. Kas iti nangngeganyo a ti anti-cristo ket um-umay, uray pay ita ket adun dagiti anti-cristo nga immay, babaen iti daytoy, ammotayo a daytoyen ti maudi nga oras.
My children, it is the last hour. You were told that an antichrist was coming; and many antichrists have already arisen. This is why we know that this is the last hour.
19 Pimmanawda manipud kadatayo, ngem isuda ket saantayo a kadua. Ta no kaduatayo koma ida, nagtultuloyda koma a kaduatayo; ngem pimmanawda tapno maipakita nga isuda ket saantayoa kadua.
These people come from our ranks, but they were never truly part of us – if they had been then they would have stayed with us. They left so it would be clear that none of them really belonged to us.
20 Ngem addaankayo iti pannakapulot manipud iti Nasantoan, ken ammoyo ti amin a kinapudno.
You, however, have been annointed by the Holy One. You all know the truth.
21 Saanak a nagsurat kadakayo gapu ta saanyo nga ammo ti kinapudno, ngem gapu ta ammoyo daytoy ken gapu ta awan kinaulbod a naggapu iti kinapudno.
I am not writing to you because you do not know the truth, but because you do know it, and because no lie can come from the truth.
22 Siasino ti ulbod no saan a ti mangilibak a ni Jesus ti Cristo? Daytoy a tao ti anti-cristo, agsipud ta ilibakna ti Ama ken ti Anak.
Who is a liar, if not the one who denies that Jesus is the Christ? That person is the antichrist – one who rejects the Father and the Son.
23 Awan ti siasinoman a mangilibak iti Anak nga adda kenkuana ti Ama. Siasinoman a mangbigbig iti Anak ket adda met kenkuana ti Ama.
No one who rejects the Son has the Father; to acknowledge the Son is to have the Father also.
24 Dakayo met, agtalinaed koma kadakayo ti nangngeganyo manipud idi punganay. No dayta a nangngeganyo manipud idi punganay ket agtalinaed kadakayo, agtalinaedkayonto met iti Anak ken iti Ama.
As for you, you must let what you have heard from the beginning continue to live in you. If what you heard from the beginning dwells in you, you will remain both in the Son and the Father.
25 Ken daytoy ti kari nga inkarina kadatayo; ti agnanayon a biag. (aiōnios g166)
And this is what he himself promised us – eternal life! (aiōnios g166)
26 Dagitoy a banbanag a naisuratko kadakayo maipanggep kadagiti mangiyaw-awan kadakayo.
In writing this to you, I have in mind those who are trying to mislead you.
27 Ket no maipapan kadakayo, ti pannakapulot a naawatyo manipud kenkuana ket nagtalinaed kadakayo, ket saanyo a kasapulan ti siasinoman a mangisuro kadakayo. Ngem ti panangisuro kadayo ti pammulotna iti maipanggep kadagiti amin a banbanag ket pudno ken saan nga inu-ulbod, ket kas iti insurona kadakayo, agtalinaedkayo kenkuana.
As for you, the anointing which you received from him remains with you. You do not need anyone to teach you. His anointing teaches you about everything. What it teaches you is true, it is not a lie. Do what it has taught you: abide in him.
28 Ket ita, patpatgek nga annak, agtalinaedkayo kenkuana, tapno inton agparang isuna, maaddaantayo koma iti kinatured ken saantayo nga agbain iti sangoananna iti iyuumayna.
Yes, my children, remain in him, so that when he appears our confidence doesn’t fail us, and we are not ashamed to meet him at his coming.
29 No ammoyo nga isuna ket nalinteg, ammoyo nga amin a mangar-aramid iti kinalinteg ket naipasngay kenkuana.
Since you know he is righteous, you realize that everyone who does what is right is his child.
