1 Kas pangarigan agsaoak kadagiti pagsasao dagiti tattao ken dagiti anghel. Ngem no awan ti ayatko, nagbalinak a natagari a gansa wenno umaw-aweng a piangpiang.
If I speak with the tongues of men and of messengers, and do not have love, I have become sounding brass, or a clanging cymbal;
2 Kas pangarigan addaanak iti sagot iti panangipadto ken maawatak dagiti amin a nailimed a kinapudno ken pannakaammo, ken adaanak iti amin a pammati a mangikkat kadagiti banbantay. Ngem no awan ti ayatko, awan pulos serserbik.
and if I have prophecy, and know all the secrets, and all the knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, and do not have love, I am nothing;
3 Ken kas pangarigan itedko amin a kukuak a mangpakan kadagiti nakurapay, ken itedko ti bagik tapno mapuoran. Ngem no awan ti ayatko, awan ti magunggonak.
and if I give away all my goods to feed others, and if I give up my body that I may be burned, and do not have love, I am profited nothing.
4 Ti ayat ket naanus ken naasi. Ti ayat ket saan a naapal wenno napasindayag. Saan a natangsit
Love is long-suffering, it is kind, love does not envy, love does not vaunt itself, is not puffed up,
5 wenno naalas ti kababalinna daytoy. Saan daytoy a managinbubukod. Saan a nalaka nga agpungtot, wenno saan nga agbilang ti biddut.
does not act unseemly, does not seek its own things, is not provoked, does not impute evil,
6 Saan nga agrag-o daytoy iti saan a nalinteg. Ngem ketdi, agrag-o daytoy iti kinapudno.
[does] not rejoice over unrighteousness, and rejoices with the truth;
7 Ti ayat anusanna amin a banbanag, patienna ti amin a banbanag, addaan iti talek maipapan iti amin a banbanag, ken ibturanna iti amin a banbanag.
it bears all things, it believes all, it hopes all, it endures all.
8 Ti ayat ket saan nga agpatingga. No adda dagiti padto, mapukawdanto. No adda dagiti pagsasao, agsardengdanto. No adda iti pannakaammo, mapukawdanto.
Love never fails; and whether [there be] prophecies, they will become useless; whether tongues, they will cease; whether knowledge, it will become useless;
9 Ta paset laeng ti ammotayo ken paset laeng ti ipadto tayo.
for we know in part, and we prophesy in part;
10 Ngem no dumteng ti kinaan-anay, dayta a saan a naan-anay ket mapukawto.
and when that which is perfect may come, then that which [is] in part will become useless.
11 Idi ubingak, nagsaoak a kas maysa nga ubing, nagpanunotak a kas maysa nga ubing, nagrasonak a kas maysa nga ubing. Idi nagbalinakon a nataengan, inikkatkon dagiti inuubing a banbanag.
When I was a child, I was speaking as a child, I was thinking as a child, I was reasoning as a child, and when I have become a man, I have made useless the things of the child;
12 Ta ita makitatayo iti sarming, a kas iti nasipnget a langa, ngem iti rupanrupa. Ita ammok ti dadduma a paset, ngem maammoakto a naan-anay a kas iti naan-anay a pannakaammo kaniak.
for we now see obscurely through a mirror, and then face to face; now I know in part, and then I will fully know, as I was also known;
13 Ngem ita, agtalinaed dagitoy a tallo: pammati, namnama iti masakbayan, ken ayat. Ngem ti kadakkelan kadagitoy ket ayat.
and now there remains faith, hope, love—these three; and the greatest of these [is] love.
