1 Okwu Onyenwe anyị nke rutere Zefanaya, nwa Kushi, nwa nwa Gedaliya, bụ nwa Amaraya. Amaraya bụ nwa Hezekaya. Ozi a bịara nʼoge Josaya nwa Amọn, bụ eze Juda.
The word of the Lord which came unto Zephanyah the son of Cushi, the son of Gedalyah, the son of Amaryah, the son of Chizkiyah, in the days of Josiah the son of Amon the king of Judah.
2 “Aga m azachapụ ihe niile site nʼelu ụwa,” Otu a ka Onyenwe anyị kwubiri.
I will remove, utterly remove all things from off the face of the earth, saith the Lord.
3 “Aga m azachapụ mmadụ na anụmanụ. Aga m azachapụ ụmụ anụ ufe niile nke dị nʼeluigwe, zachapụkwa azụ niile nke dị nʼosimiri, na arụsị niile dị iche iche nke na-eme ka ndị ajọ mmadụ sụọ ngọngọ.” “Mgbe m kpochapụrụ mmadụ niile site nʼelu ụwa,” otu a ka Onyenwe anyị kwubiri.
I will remove man and beast; I will remove the fowls of the heaven, and the fishes of the sea, and the stumbling blocks together with the wicked; and I will cut off man from off the face of the earth, saith the Lord.
4 “Aga m esetipụ aka m megide Juda, megidekwa ndị niile bi na Jerusalem. Aga m ebipụkwa ndị niile na-efe Baal fọdụrụ nʼebe a, na aha ndị nchụaja arụsị niile, ma ndị nchụaja niile na-ekpere arụsị,
And I will stretch out my hand over Judah, and over all the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and I will cut off the remnant of Ba'al from this place, the name of his ministers with his priests;
5 bụ ndị ahụ niile na-anọ nʼelu ụlọ ha na-akpọ isiala nye ọnwa na kpakpando, ha na ndị ahụ niile na-akpọrọ Onyenwe anyị isiala, na-eji aha ya nʼaṅụ iyi, ma na-ejikwa Milkọm na-aṅụ iyi,
And those that bow themselves down on the roofs of houses to the host of heaven; and those that bow themselves down that are sworn [to be true] to the Lord and still swear by Malkom;
6 na ndị ahụ niile na-alaghachi azụ site nʼiso Onyenwe anyị, na ndị ahụ na-adịghị achọ Onyenwe anyị, maọbụ jụta ase site nʼaka ya.”
And those that are turned away from following the Lord; and those that have not sought for the Lord, and have not inquired of him.
7 Dere duu nʼihu Onye kachasị ihe niile elu, bụ Onyenwe anyị nʼihi na ụbọchị ikpe ya ahụ dị egwu na-abịa nso. Onyenwe anyị ejikerela ịchụ aja; o doola ndị ọ kpọrọ oriri nsọ.
Be silent in the presence of the Lord Eternal; for nigh is the day of the Lord; for the Lord hath prepared a slaughter, he hath bidden his invited guests.
8 “Nʼụbọchị ịchụ aja nke Onyenwe anyị ahụ, aga m ata ndịisi niile na ụmụ eze niile, na ndị niile na-eyi uwe e si na mba ọzọ bubata ahụhụ.
And it shall come to pass on the day of the Lord's slaughter, that I will inflict punishment on the princes, and on the king's sons, and on all such as are clothed in garments of a foreign land.
9 Nʼụbọchị ahụ, aga m ata ha ahụhụ bụ ndị niile na-adịghị azọ ụkwụ nʼọnụ ụzọ mbata, ndị ji ihe ike na aghụghọ na-emejupụta ụlọ arụsị ha.
And I will inflict punishment on all those that leap over the threshold on that day, who fill the house of their master with violence and deceit.
10 “Nʼụbọchị ahụ,” otu a ka Onyenwe anyị kwubiri ya, “olu iti mkpu akwa ga-esite nʼỌnụ Ụzọ Ama Azụ daa, mkpu nke ịkwasi akwa ike ga-ada site nʼebe obibi ọhụrụ ahụ, na ụzụ oke ntiwa site nʼugwu nta niile.
And it shall come to pass on that day, saith the Lord, that there shall be a loud cry of lamentation from the fish-gate, and a wailing from the second, and [that of] a great breach from the hills.
11 Kwasienụ akwa ike unu ndị niile bi nʼakụkụ ebe ahịa dị; nʼihi na a ga-egbuchapụ ndị ahịa unu niile. Ndị niile na-eji ọlaọcha azụ ahịa ka a ga-ebibi.
Wail, ye inhabitants of the mortar-street, for destroyed are all the trading people; cut off are all that were laden with silver.
12 Nʼoge ahụ, aga m eji oriọna nyobanyechaa anya nʼakụkụ niile nke Jerusalem. Aga m ata ndị ahụ niile na-anọ nʼahụ dị jụụ ahụhụ, bụ ndị ahụ dọọrọ dịka ike mmanya a ṅụfọdụrụ aṅụfọ, ndị na-eche nʼobi ha sị, ‘O nweghị ihe Onyenwe anyị ga-eme anyị, maọbụ ihe ọma, maọbụ ihe ọjọọ.’
And it shall come to pass at that time, that I will search Jerusalem through with lights; and I will inflict punishment on the men that are at rest on their lees, that say in their heart, The Lord will not do good, nor will he do evil.
13 Akụ ha ga-abụ ihe a kwakọrọ nʼike, a ga-akwatukwa ụlọ ha niile. Ọ bụ ezie na ha ga-ewu ụlọ, ma ha agaghị ebi nʼime ha; ọ bụ ezie na ha ga-akọ ubi vaịnị, ma ha agaghị aṅụ mmanya si na ha.”
And their wealth shall become a booty, and their houses shall be made desolate; and they will build houses, but they shall not inhabit them; and they will plant vineyards, but they shall not drink their wine.
14 Oke ụbọchị Onyenwe anyị na-abịa nso, ọ na-abịakwa ọsịịsọ. Gee ntị! Iti mkpu akwa nke ụbọchị Onyenwe anyị ga-adị ilu nke ukwuu. A ga-anụkwa ụzụ ndị bụ dike nʼagha nʼebe ahụ.
Nigh is the great day of the Lord, it is nigh, and hasteneth greatly, [there is] the noise of the day of the Lord: bitterly crieth there the mighty man.
15 Ụbọchị ahụ ga-abụ ụbọchị ọnụma, ụbọchị ahụhụ na mkpagbu, ụbọchị nsogbu na mbibi, ụbọchị ọchịchịrị na oke obi ọjọọ, ụbọchị igwe ojii, na oke ọchịchịrị,
A day of wrath is that day, a day of distress and anxiety, a day of wasting and desolation, a day of darkness and obscurity, a day of clouds and tempestuous gloom,
16 ụbọchị opi ike na iti mkpu agha imegide obodo niile e wusiri ike, na imegide akụkụ ụlọ elu niile.
A day of the cornet and alarm, against the fenced cities, and against the high battlements.
17 “Aga m eme ka oke nhụju anya bịakwasị ndị mmadụ, mee ka ha jegharịa dịka ndị kpuru ìsì, nʼihi na ha emehiela megide Onyenwe anyị. A ga-awụsịkwa ọbara ha dịka uzuzu, tufukwaa anụ ahụ ha dịka nsị anụ.
And I will bring distress upon men, that they shall walk about like the blind, because against the Lord have they sinned: and their blood shall be poured out like the dust, and their flesh like the dung.
18 Ọlaọcha na ọlaedo ha agaghị azọpụta ha nʼụbọchị ọnụma nke Onyenwe anyị ahụ.” A ga-erechapụ ụwa niile site nʼọkụ ekworo ya, nʼihi na ọ bụ na mberede ka ọ ga-eme ka ndị niile bi nʼụwa gwụsịa.
Neither their silver nor their gold shall be able to deliver them on the day of the Lord's wrath; through the fire of whose zeal the whole land shall be devoured; for destruction, yea, quite sudden, will he prepare for all the inhabitants of the land.
