< Ndị Rom 9 >

1 Ana m ekwu eziokwu nʼime Kraịst. Anaghị m ekwu okwu ụgha. Akọnuche m nke Mmụọ Nsọ na-achị na-agbakwara m ama.
I say the truth in Christ, I lie not, my conscience bearing witness with me in the Holy Ghost,
2 A nọ m nʼọnọdụ oke ihe mwute na ihe mgbu dị ukwuu nʼobi m.
that I have great sorrow and unceasing pain in my heart.
3 A sị na ọ bụ ihe ga-ekwe mee, ejikeere m ịbụ onye a bụrụ ọnụ na onye e wepụrụ site nʼebe Kraịst nọ nʼihi ụmụnna m na ndị ikwu m,
For I could wish that I myself were anathema from Christ for my brethren’s sake, my kinsmen according to the flesh:
4 bụ ndị Izrel. Ndị Chineke họọrọ ka ha bụrụ ụmụ ya, ndị o nyere ebube ya na ọgbụgba ndụ ya. O nyekwara ha iwu na ife ofufe nʼụlọnsọ ukwu ahụ na ọtụtụ nkwa dị iche iche.
who are Israelites; whose is the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service [of God], and the promises;
Amen. (aiōn g165)
whose are the fathers, and of whom is Christ as concerning the flesh, who is over all, God blessed for ever. Amen. (aiōn g165)
6 Ọ bụghị dị ka a ga-asị na okwu Chineke na-ala azụ. Nʼihi na ọ bụghị onye ọbụla a mụrụ nʼezinaụlọ ndị Izrel bụ onye Izrel.
But [it is] not as though the word of God hath come to nought. For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel:
7 Na ha sitere nʼagbụrụ Ebraham pụta emeghị ka ha bụrụ ụmụ Ebraham nʼezie. Ma nʼakụkụ nke ọzọ, “Ọ bụ site nʼAịzik ka a ga-akpọ mkpụrụ gị aha.”
neither, because they are Abraham’s seed, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called.
8 Nke a na-egosi na ọ bụghị ndị niile a mụrụ na-anụ ahụ bụ ụmụ Chineke, kama ụmụ ndị ahụ e kwere na nkwa bụ ndị a na-agụnye dị ka ụmụ Ebraham site na nkwa ahụ.
That is, it is not the children of the flesh that are children of God; but the children of the promise are reckoned for a seed.
9 Lee ka e si kwee nkwa ahụ, “Mgbe oge ahụ a kara aka ruru, aga m alọghachi, Sera ga-amụkwa nwa nwoke.”
For this is a word of promise, According to this season will I come, and Sarah shall have a son.
10 Ọ bụghị naanị nke a. Ụmụ Ribeka si nʼotu nna, ya bụ nna nna anyị Aịzik.
And not only so; but Rebecca also having conceived by one, [even] by our father Isaac—
11 Ma tupu a mụọ ụmụ ejima ndị a, ma ọ bụkwanụ tupu ha emee ihe ọbụla dị mma maọbụ nke dị njọ, iji mee ka ọchịchọ Chineke banyere nhọpụta ha guzoro,
for [the children] being not yet born, neither having done anything good or bad, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of him that calleth,
12 ọ bụghị site nʼọrụ kama ọ bụ site nʼonye ahụ nke na-akpọ, nʼihi na a gwara ya sị, “Nke okenye ga-ejere nke nta ozi.”
it was said unto her, The elder shall serve the younger.
13 Dịka e dere ya, “Jekọb ka m hụrụ nʼanya ma Ịsọ ka m kpọrọ asị.”
Even as it is written, Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated.
14 Gịnịkwa ka anyị ga-ekwu? Chineke ọ bụ onye ajọ omume? Mba!
What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? God forbid.
15 Nʼihi na ọ gwara Mosis, “Onye m chọrọ imere ebere ka m ga-emere ebere, ọ bụkwa onye m chọrọ imere ọmịiko ka m ga-enwere ọmịiko.”
For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion.
So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that hath mercy.
17 Nʼihi nʼakwụkwọ nsọ gwara Fero, “Emere m ka ị bụrụ ihe ị bụ nʼihi nke a, ka m were gị zipụta ike m, ka e nwe ike kwusaa aha m nʼụwa niile.”
For the scripture saith unto Pharaoh, For this very purpose did I raise thee up, that I might shew in thee my power, and that my name might be published abroad in all the earth.
18 Ọ pụtara ihe na ọ bụ naanị ndị Chineke chọrọ ka ọ na-emere ebere, ndị ọ chọkwara ka ọ na-eme ka ha bụrụ ndị obi ha kpọchiri akpọchi.
So then he hath mercy on whom he will, and whom he will he hardeneth.
19 Ma eleghị anya unu pụrụ ịgwa m, “Gịnị kwanụ mere o ji ata anyị ụta? Onye kwanụ pụrụ iguzogide ihe o zubere ime?”
Thou wilt say then unto me, Why doth he still find fault? For who withstandeth his will?
20 Onye ka ị bụ gị mmadụ efu, iji ajụ Chineke ajụjụ? “Nkata mmadụ na-akpa ọ ga-ajụ onye na-akpa ya ajụjụ, ‘Onye sị gị kpaa m otu a?’”
Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why didst thou make me thus?
21 Otu a kwa, onye ọkpụ ite o nweghị ike isite nʼotu ụrọ ahụ o nwere kpụọ ụdị ite ọbụla masịrị ya, ụfọdụ ite pụrụ iche na ụfọdụ e ji eje ozi nʼụlọ?
Or hath not the potter a right over the clay, from the same lump to make one part a vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour?
22 Ọ bụrụkwanụ na Chineke ekpebie igosi iwe ya na ime ka a mara ike ya site nʼinwe oke ndidi banyere ndị oke iwe ya ga-adakwasị bụ ndị a kwadoro maka mbibi?
What if God, willing to shew his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering vessels of wrath fitted unto destruction:
23 Ma ọ bụrụkwanụ na o mere nke a iji mee ka ndị ahụ ọ na-emere ebere mata ịba ụba nke ebube ya, bụ ndị o bururị ụzọ kwadoo maka ebube a.
and that he might make known the riches of his glory upon vessels of mercy, which he afore prepared unto glory,
[even] us, whom he also called, not from the Jews only, but also from the Gentiles?
25 Dịka o kwuru nʼakwụkwọ Hosiya, “Aga m akpọ ha ‘ndị m,’ bụ ndị na-abụghị ndị m. Aga m akpọkwa ya ‘onye m hụrụ nʼanya’ bụ onye m na-ahụghị nʼanya.”
As he saith also in Hosea, I will call that my people, which was not my people; And her beloved, which was not beloved.
26 Ma, “Nʼotu ebe ahụ a nọ sị ha, ‘Unu abụghị ndị m,’ bụkwa ebe a ga-anọ kpọọ ha, ‘Ụmụ nke Chineke dị ndụ.’”
And it shall be, [that] in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people, There shall they be called sons of the living God.
27 Aịzaya bere akwa nʼihi ụmụ Izrel, “Ọ bụ ezie na ọnụọgụgụ ụmụ Izrel dịka uzuzu dị nʼakụkụ osimiri, maọbụ naanị mmadụ ole na ole ka a ga-azọpụta.
And Isaiah crieth concerning Israel, If the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea, it is the remnant that shall be saved:
28 Nʼihi na Onyenwe anyị na-aga ikpe ụwa a ikpe. Ọ ga-eme ọsịịsọ nʼikpe ahụ ma kpebie ya.”
for the Lord will execute [his] word upon the earth, finishing it and cutting it short.
29 Ọ bụkwa dịka Aịzaya kwuru na mbụ, “Ọ bụrụ na Onyenwe anyị, Onye pụrụ ime ihe niile ahapụrụghị anyị ụmụ ụmụ, anyị gara adị ka Sọdọm, anyị gaara adịkwa ka Gọmọra.”
And, as Isaiah hath said before, Except the Lord of Sabaoth had left us a seed, We had become as Sodom, and had been made like unto Gomorrah.
What shall we say then? That the Gentiles, which followed not after righteousness, attained to righteousness, even the righteousness which is of faith:
31 ma ndị Izrel na-agbaso iwu nke ezi omume, enwebeghị ike ime onwe ha ndị a ga-anabata.
but Israel, following after a law of righteousness, did not arrive at [that] law.
Wherefore? Because [they sought it] not by faith, but as it were by works. They stumbled at the stone of stumbling;
even as it is written, Behold, I lay in Zion a stone of stumbling and a rock of offence: And he that believeth on him shall not be put to shame.
