< Ndị Rom 3 >
1 Ọ dị uru pụrụ iche mmadụ nwere nʼihi na ọ bụ onye Juu? Gịnị bụkwa uru ahụ dị ukwuu nke dị na-ebiri mmadụ ugwu?
Then what advantage does the Jew have? Or what is the profit of circumcision?
2 Ọ bara uru nʼụzọ niile. Nke mbụ, ọ bụ ndị Juu ka e weere okwu Chineke nyefee nʼaka.
Much in every way! Because first of all, they were entrusted with the revelations of God.
For what if some were without faith? Will their lack of faith nullify the faithfulness of God?
4 Ọ pụghị ịdị otu a! Kama ka ọ bụrụ ihe pụtara ihe na Chineke bụ onye eziokwu, ma mmadụ niile bụ ndị okwu ụgha, dịka e dere ya, “Ka e nwe ike gosipụta na ị na-ekwu eziokwu mgbe ọbụla i kwuru okwu, na ekpegbukwa mgbe i na-ekpe ikpe.”
May it never be! Yes, let God be found true, but every man a liar. As it is written, “that you might be justified in your words, and might prevail when you come into judgement.”
(Ana m ekwu okwu a dị ka ndị mmadụ.)
But if our unrighteousness commends the righteousness of God, what will we say? Is God unrighteous who inflicts wrath? I speak like men do.
6 Nʼezie, ọ bụghị otu a, ọ bụrụ na ọ bụ otu a, oleekwanụ otu Chineke ga-esi kpee ụwa ikpe?
May it never be! For then how will God judge the world?
7 Otu onye nwere ike ị sị, “na ọ bụrụ na a na-esite nʼokwu ụgha m, mee ka eziokwu nke Chineke pụta ìhè karịa, na-ewetara Chineke otuto, gịnị mere e ji ama m ikpe dịka onye mmehie?”
For if the truth of God through my lie abounded to his glory, why am I also still judged as a sinner?
8 Ọ pụtara na anyị ga-asị, “ka anyị na-eme ihe ọjọọ ka ezi ihe si na ya pụta”? Ụfọdụ ndị mmadụ ji nkwutọ na-ebo m ebubo na m na-akụzi ihe dị otu a, ikpe a mara ha kwesiri ekwesi.
Why not (as we are slanderously reported, and as some affirm that we say), “Let’s do evil, that good may come?” Those who say so are justly condemned.
What then? Are we better than they? No, in no way. For we previously warned both Jews and Greeks that they are all under sin.
10 Dịka e dere ya, “Ọ dịghị onye ọbụla bụ onye ezi omume, ọ dịghị ọ bụladị otu onye.
As it is written, “There is no one righteous; no, not one.
11 Ọ dịghị onye ọbụla na-aghọta, ọ dịkwaghị onye ọ na-agụ ịchọ Chineke.
There is no one who understands. There is no one who seeks after God.
12 Mmadụ niile ewezugala onwe ha, ha niile, ọ dịghị onye bara uru nʼime ha. Ọ dịghị onye na-eme ihe ọma, a pụghị ịchọta ọ bụladị otu onye.
They have all turned away. They have together become unprofitable. There is no one who does good, no, not so much as one.”
13 Akpịrị ha bụ ili ghere oghe, ha ji ire ha na-aghọ aghụghọ. Elo ajụala dị nʼegbugbere ọnụ ha.
“Their throat is an open tomb. With their tongues they have used deceit.” “The poison of vipers is under their lips.”
14 Ọnụ ha jupụtara nʼokwu na-akụ ilu na ọbụbụ ọnụ.
“Their mouth is full of cursing and bitterness.”
15 Ụkwụ ha na-eme ọsịịsọ ịkwafu ọbara.
“Their feet are swift to shed blood.
16 Mbibi na nhụju anya dị nʼụzọ ha niile.
Destruction and misery are in their ways.
17 Ha amaghị ihe bụ ụzọ udo.
The way of peace, they haven’t known.”
18 Ha amatabeghị ihe ịtụ egwu Chineke pụtara.”
“There is no fear of God before their eyes.”
19 Ugbu a, anyị maara na ihe ọbụla iwu kwuru, ọ bụ ndị nọ nʼokpuru iwu ka ọ dịịrị, ka esite otu a kpuchite ọnụ niile nʼotu nʼotu. Ma meekwa ka ụwa niile mata na ha bụ ndị ikpe mara nʼebe Chineke nọ.
Now we know that whatever things the law says, it speaks to those who are under the law, that every mouth may be closed, and all the world may be brought under the judgement of God.
20 Nʼihi na o nweghị onye ọbụla a pụrụ ịgụ nʼonye ezi omume nʼihu Chineke maka na ọ na-edebe iwu. Kama, ọ bụ site nʼiwu ka anyị ji mata ihe banyere mmehie.
Because by the works of the law, no flesh will be justified in his sight; for through the law comes the knowledge of sin.
21 Ma ugbu a, emeela ka ezi omume Chineke pụta ìhè, site nʼiguzo iche nʼebe iwu dị, bụ nke iwu na ndị amụma gbakwara ama ya.
But now apart from the law, a righteousness of God has been revealed, being testified by the law and the prophets;
22 Ezi omume a na-esite nʼebe Chineke nọ abịa, site nʼokwukwe nʼime Jisọs Kraịst nye ndị niile kweere.
even the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ to all and on all those who believe. For there is no distinction,
23 Nʼihi na mmadụ niile emehiela ha ekwesikwaghị otuto Chineke.
for all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God;
24 Ma ugbu a, agụọla ha na ndị ezi omume site nʼamara ya, site na mgbapụta nke si nʼaka Kraịst Jisọs.
being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus,
25 Onye Chineke họpụtara ka o were ndụ ya chụọ aja ikpuchi mmehie, site nʼiwufu ọbara ya maka mgbaghara mmehie, nke a ga-anata site nʼokwukwe. Nʼụzọ dị otu a, ọ na-egosipụta ezi omume ya, maka oge gara aga, nʼihi nnagide ya, o jiri ndidi leghara mmehie ụmụ mmadụ anya.
whom God sent to be an atoning sacrifice through faith in his blood, for a demonstration of his righteousness through the passing over of prior sins, in God’s forbearance;
to demonstrate his righteousness at this present time, that he might himself be just and the justifier of him who has faith in Jesus.
27 Mgbe o si otu a dịrị, olee ebe ịnya isi anyị dịkwa? Ajụla ịnabata ya. Ọ bụ site iwu dị aṅa? Ọ bụ nke ọrụ? Mba, kama ọ bụ site nʼokwukwe anyị nwere nʼime Kraịst.
Where then is the boasting? It is excluded. By what kind of law? Of works? No, but by a law of faith.
28 Ya mere, anyị na-agụnye mmadụ nʼonye ezi omume nʼihi okwukwe o nwere, ọ bụghị nʼihi na o mere ihe iwu kwuru.
We maintain therefore that a man is justified by faith apart from the works of the law.
29 Chineke ọ bụ naanị nke ndị Juu? Ọ bụkwaghị nke ndị mba ọzọ? Nʼezie, ọ bụkwa nke ndị mba ọzọ.
Or is God the God of Jews only? Isn’t he the God of Gentiles also? Yes, of Gentiles also,
30 Nʼihi na Chineke dị naanị otu, ọ bụ site nʼokwukwe ka ọ ga-anabata ndị ahụ ebiri ugwu, sitekwa nʼotu okwukwe ahụ gụọ ndị a na-ebighị ugwu ka ndị ezi omume.
since indeed there is one God who will justify the circumcised by faith and the uncircumcised through faith.
31 Ọ bụrụ na ọ dị otu a, anyị na-esite nʼokwukwe anyị mee ka iwu ghara ịdị ire? Mba! Kama anyị na-enye iwu ọnọdụ kwesiri ya.
Do we then nullify the law through faith? May it never be! No, we establish the law.
