< Ndị Rom 11 >
1 Mgbe ahụ a na m ajụ, ọ ga-abụ na Chineke ajụla ndị ya? Mba, nke a apụghị ime, nʼihi na mụ onwe m bụkwa onye Izrel. Abụ m nwa nwa Ebraham, onye si nʼagbụrụ Benjamin pụta.
I ask then, has God rejected his people? Absolutely not. For I also am an Israelite, a descendant of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin.
God did not reject his people, which he foreknew. Or do you not know what the Scripture says about Elijah? How he pleads with God against Israel:
3 “Onyenwe m, ha egbuchala ndị amụma gị niile, mebisiekwa ebe ịchụ aja gị niile, maọbụ naanị m fọdụrụ. Ha na-achọkwa ụzọ igbu m.”
"Lord, they have killed your prophets, they have broken down your altars; and I am left alone, and they seek my life."
4 Gịnị bụ ọsịsa Chineke nyere ya? “E nwere m puku mmadụ asaa ọzọ ndị hụrụ m nʼanya, ndị na-egbubeghị ikpere ha nʼala nye Baal.”
But how does God answer him? "I have kept for myself seven thousand people, who have not bowed the knee to Baal."
5 Otu a ka ọ dịkwa nʼoge dị ugbu a, a họrọla mmadụ ole na ole site nʼamara ya.
Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.
And if by grace, then it is no longer of works; otherwise grace is no longer grace.
7 Gịnịkwa? Ihe ndị Izrel jiri ike ha niile na-achọ nke ha na-achọtaghị ka ndị a họpụtara chọtara. Ndị nke ọzọ mechiri obi ha.
What then? That which Israel seeks for, that he did not obtain, but the chosen ones obtained it, and the rest were hardened.
According as it is written, God gave them a spirit of stupor, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear, to this very day.
9 Devid kwukwara, “Ka tebul ha ghọọrọ ha igbudu na ọnya, ha bụrụkwa ihe ịsọ ngọngọ na ntaramahụhụ nye ha.
David says, "Let their table be made a snare, and a trap, and a stumbling block, and a retribution to them.
10 Ka anya ha gbaa ọchịchịrị, ka ha gharakwa ịhụ ụzọ. Mee ka azụ ha bụrụ ihe arọjiri arọji ruo mgbe ebighị ebi.”
Let their eyes be darkened, so that they can't see, and their backs be bent continually."
Ọ bụghị otu a! Kama nʼihi mmehie ha, nzọpụta rutere ndị mba ọzọ ka e sitekwa na nke a kpalie ekworo nʼime ụmụ Izrel.
I ask then, did they stumble that they might fall? Absolutely not. But by their fall salvation has come to the non-Jews, to provoke them to jealousy.
12 Ma ọ bụrụ na mmehie ha wetara akụnụba nye ụwa, ọ bụrụkwa na ịbụ ogbenye ha wetara ngọzị nye ndị mba ọzọ, ọ bụ na ngọzị babigara ụba oke agaghị adị mgbe a ga-agụkọta ọnụọgụgụ ha niile?
Now if their fall is the riches of the world, and their loss the riches of the non-Jews; how much more their fullness?
13 Ugbu a, unu ndị mba ọzọ, ka m na-agwa okwu. Ọ bụ ezie na mụ onwe m bụ onyeozi nye ndị mba ọzọ, ana m enwe afọ ojuju nʼihi ije ozi m.
For I speak to you who are the non-Jews. Since then as I am an apostle to the non-Jews, I glorify my ministry;
14 Nʼihi na enwere m olileanya na, ma eleghị anya, apụrụ m isite nʼụzọ a kpasuo ekworo nʼime ụfọdụ ụmụnna m, ka e site nʼekworo ha zọpụta ụfọdụ nʼime ha.
if by any means I may provoke to jealousy those who are my flesh, and may save some of them.
15 Ọ bụrụ na ọ bụ site nʼọjụjụ a jụrụ ha ka e siri mee ka ụwa dịrị na mma, gịnị ga-eme mgbe a nabatara ha? Ọ ga-adị ka i si nʼọnwụ bilie ọzọ, nwee ndụ ọzọ.
For if the rejection of them is the reconciling of the world, what would their acceptance be, but life from the dead?
If the first part is holy, so is the whole batch. If the root is holy, so are the branches.
But if some of the branches were broken off, and you, being a wild olive, were grafted in among them, and became partaker with them of the rich root of the olive tree;
18 Ma unu ekwesighị ịnya isi na a dọkapụrụ alaka ndị ọzọ were unu dochie nʼọnọdụ ha. Ihe unu na-aghaghị ịmata bụ nke a: unu bụ naanị alaka dị nʼosisi. Ọ bụghị unu na-ebu mgbọrọgwụ osisi, kama ọ bụ mgbọrọgwụ osisi na-ebu unu.
do not boast over the branches. But if you boast, it is not you who support the root, but the root supports you.
19 Ma eleghị anya unu nwere ike kwuo, “Ma a nyakapụrụ alaka ụfọdụ e nwee ohere ebe a ga-anyapagide anyị.”
You will say then, "Branches were broken off, that I might be grafted in."
True; by their unbelief they were broken off, and you stand by your faith. Do not be conceited, but fear;
21 Nʼihi na ọ bụrụ na Chineke emereghị alaka nke osisi ahụ wapụtara nʼonwe ya ebere, ọ gaghị emekwara gị ebere.
for if God did not spare the natural branches, neither will he spare you.
22 Ya mere, tulee obiọma na aka ike Chineke, aka ike nʼebe ndị dara ada nọ, ma obiọma nʼebe unu nọ, naanị mgbe unu na-anọgideghị nʼobi ebere ya, ma ọ bụghị ya, ọ ga-anyakapụkwa unu.
See then the goodness and severity of God. Toward those who fell, severity; but toward you, goodness, if you continue in his goodness; otherwise you also will be cut off.
They also, if they do not continue in their unbelief, will be grafted in, for God is able to graft them in again.
24 Nʼihi na asị na e gbupụtara unu site nʼalaka osisi oliv ọhịa, nyapagide unu nʼosisi oliv ọma ahụ nʼụzọ na-abụghị usoro ndụ, gịnị kwanụ ga-egbochi ịnabata alaka ndị ya, bụ ndị si na ya, mee ka ha laghachi azụ nʼosisi oliv ahụ e si nyakapụ ha.
For if you were cut out of that which is by nature a wild olive tree, and were grafted contrary to nature into a good olive tree, how much more will these, which are the natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree?
25 Ụmụnna m, achọrọ m ka unu mata ihe omimi a, ka unu ghara ịnya isi. Nnupu isi ụfọdụ ụmụ Izrel agaghị adịgide kama ọ ga-adị ruo nʼoge ọnụọgụgụ ndị mba ọzọ a ga-anabata zuru.
For I do not desire you to be ignorant, brothers, of this mystery, so that you won't be wise in your own conceits, that a partial hardening has happened to Israel, until the fullness of the non-Jews has come in,
26 Mgbe ahụ, a ga-azọpụta Izrel niile.
and so all Israel will be saved. Even as it is written, "There will come out of Zion the Deliverer; he will turn away ungodliness from Jacob.
27 Nke a bụ ọgbụgba ndụ m nke dị nʼetiti mụ na ha, mgbe m wepụrụ mmehie ha niile.”
This is my covenant to them, when I will take away their sins."
28 Nʼihe banyere oziọma, ha bụ ndị iro nke Chineke nʼihi unu. Ma a bịa nʼihe gbasara nhọpụta, ha bụ ndị nke a hụrụ nʼanya nʼihi ndị nna nna ha.
Concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sake. But concerning the election, they are loved for the fathers' sake.
29 Nʼihi na enye anarakwa adịghị nʼonyinye nakwa ọkpụkpọ Chineke.
For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.
30 Unu onwe unu ndị na-enupuru Chineke isi na mbụ, anatala ebere ya ugbu a, nʼihi nnupu isi ha.
For as you in time past were disobedient to God, but now have obtained mercy by their disobedience,
31 Otu a ka ọ dịkwa, ha bụ ndị na-enupu isi ugbu a ka ha nwe ike soro unu keta oke site nʼebere Chineke meere unu.
even so these also have now been disobedient, that by the mercy shown to you they may now also obtain mercy.
32 Nʼihi na Chineke enyefeela onye ọbụla nʼaka nnupu isi, ka o si otu a gosi mmadụ niile obi ebere ya. (eleēsē )
For God has bound everyone over to disobedience, that he might have mercy on all.
Oh the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and the knowledge of God. How unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past tracing out.
34 “Onye maara uche Onyenwe anyị? Ma ọ bụ onye bụ onye ahụ na-enye ya ndụmọdụ?”
For "Who has known the mind of the Lord, or who has been his counselor?"
35 “Onye burula ụzọ nye Chineke ihe, nke ga-eme ka Chineke kwụghachi ya?”
"Or who has first given to him, and it will be repaid to him again?"
Amen. (aiōn )
For from him and by him and in him are all things. To him be the glory for ever. Amen. (aiōn )
