Abụ Ọma 91
1 Onye ahụ na-ebi nʼebe mgbaba Onye kachasị ihe niile elu ga-ezu ike nʼokpuru ndo Onye pụrụ ime ihe niile.
Those who live under the protection of God Almighty, will be able to rest [safely] under his care.
2 Nke a ka m ga-ekwu maka Onyenwe anyị, “Ọ bụ ebe mgbaba m na ebe nchebe m e wusiri ike, Chineke m, onye m na-atụkwasị obi m.”
I will declare to Yahweh, “You protect me; [you are like] a fort [MET] in which I am safe. You are my God, the one in whom I trust.”
3 Nʼezie, ọ ga-anapụta gị site nʼọnya nke onye osi ọnya na site nʼaka ajọ ọrịa na-efe efe na-eweta ịla nʼiyi.
Yahweh will rescue you from all hidden traps and save you from deadly diseases.
4 Ọ ga-eji nku ya kpuchie gị. Ọ bụkwa nʼokpuru nku ya abụọ, ka ị ga-agbaba zere ndụ, ikwesi ntụkwasị obi ya ga-echebe gị, ghọkwaara gị ọta.
He will shield/protect you [like a bird shields/protects its chicks] [MET] with/under her wings. You will be safe (in his care/because he takes care of you). His faithfully doing what he has promised is like a shield [MET] that will protect you.
5 Ị gaghị atụ egwu ihe ịtụ oke egwu nke abalị, maọbụ àkụ na-efegharị nʼehihie,
You will not be afraid of things that happen during the night that could (terrorize you/cause you to be very afraid), or of arrows that [your enemies will shoot at you] during the day.
6 maọbụ ajọ ọrịa na-efe efe, nke na-ejegharị nʼọchịchịrị, ma ọ bụkwanụ ihe mbibi mberede na-eme nʼehihie.
You will not be afraid of (plagues/widespread sicknesses) that demons cause when they attack people at night, or of other [evil forces] that kill people at midday.
7 Puku mmadụ pụrụ ịda nʼakụkụ gị, iri puku mmadụ nwekwara ike ịda nʼakụkụ aka nri gị, ma ihe ọjọọ ndị a agaghị erute gị nso.
Even if 1,000 people fall [dead] alongside you, even if 10,000 [people are dying] around you, you will not be harmed.
8 Ọ bụ naanị anya gị abụọ ka ị ga-eji hụ ntaramahụhụ nke ndị ajọ omume.
Look and see that (wicked people are being punished/God is punishing wicked people)!
9 Ọ bụrụ na i mee Onye kachasị ihe niile elu ebe obibi gị, ọ bụladị Onyenwe anyị, onye bụ ebe mgbaba m,
If you allow Yahweh to protect you, if you trust God Almighty to (shelter/take care of) you,
10 mgbe ahụ, ihe ọjọọ ọbụla enweghị ike ịdakwasị gị; ihe ike ọbụla enweghị ike ịbịaru ụlọ obibi gị nso.
nothing evil will happen to you; no plague will come near your house,
11 Nʼihi na ọ ga-enye ndị mmụọ ozi ya iwu banyere gị, ka ha chebe gị nʼụzọ gị niile.
because Yahweh will command his angels to protect you wherever you go.
12 Ha ga-eji ọbụ aka ha, bulie gị elu ime ka ị ghara ịkpọbi ụkwụ gị na nkume.
They will hold you up with their hands, with the result that you will not hurt your foot on a big stone.
13 Ị ga-azọkwasị ọdụm na ajụala ụkwụ, zọgbukwaa ọdụm na-akpa ike, na agwọ ọjọọ.
You will be [kept safe from being harmed by your enemies] [MET]; [it will be as though] you are stepping on lions and poisonous snakes [without them harming you!]
14 “Nʼihi na ọ hụrụ m nʼanya, Mụ onwe m ga-agbapụta ya, ka Onyenwe anyị kwuru; aga m echebe ya, nʼihi na ọ maara aha m.
[Yahweh says], “I will rescue those who love me, I will protect them because they (acknowledge that I am Yahweh/know me).
15 Ọ ga-akpọku m, aga m azakwa ya. Aga m anọnyere ya nʼime nsogbu ya, aga m adọpụta, ma sọpụrụkwa ya.
When they call out to me, I will answer them. I will help them when they are experiencing trouble; I will rescue them and honor them.
16 Aga m eji ogologo ndụ mee ka afọ ju ya, gosikwa ya nzọpụta m.”
I will reward them by enabling them to live a long time, and I will save them.”
